Christianity EtcThe Revelation And Truth About The "mystery" And "gimmick" Of The Prayer Shawl by Goshen360(op): 5:01pm On Mar 04, 2012
Recently, I see Preachers selling and asking God's people to buy Prayer Shawl that had been imported from Israel (Holy Land). They often quote from Numbers 15:37-41 stating it the commandment of God throughout their generations.

Numbers 15:37-41, KJV

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.

Preachers also say it was this garment, worn by Jesus that the woman with the issue of blood touched and was healed quoting from Mark 5:27 - 34

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Bible student, What do you understand about this prayer shawl? What is the revelation and truth about this prayer shawl? Is there a gimmick behind this practice or it is purely God's commandment for all generations of the children of Israel? Let's enter into the word of God and dig out the truth about the Prayer Shawl or Tallit as it is called.

LagosShia:
Hebrews 5:7
"During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission".

Luke 22:43-44
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground".
So which of the bible verse you want explanation for? You left your Quaran to come for debate in the bible. Well, which of the verses you need explanation to? Hebrews or Luke?

She is NOT rooted in the word of God, so she cannot discern the spirit or test the spirit by the word of God. Hence satan quoted bible wrongly to her just like satan did to Christ.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2 Cor. 11:14, KJV

The more and vital reason a believer should be rooted in the word and their faith not in anointing oil and handkerchiefs. You can't resist or overcome or spot out satan by anointing oil and handkerchiefs but by the word of God of the Living God. Amen.

Christianity EtcRe: Bearing The Cross by Goshen360(m): 12:19am On Mar 03, 2012
The apostle Paul expressed it perfectly when he said: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." Therefore, we should be able to say with Paul, "God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world" (Galatians 2:20; 6:14). HMM

Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Wept - John 11: 35. Who Can Explain Why? by Goshen360(m): 9:35pm On Mar 02, 2012
My understanding of this event will be presented in two ways. One according to letter and two, according to the Spirit. Both sounds good but the spirit gives life meaning, the spiritual aspect gives you revelation rather than the letter (mere words).

According to the letter: In the natural, Lazarus is a friend of Jesus when Jesus was still walking on earth. Lazarus died, was bounded and was placed in the tomb. Naturally, the bible teaches us to rejoice with them that rejoice and weep with those who weep. Jesus wept in the natural simply to show his feelings towards his friend.

"Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep." Romans 12:15 KJV

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.Heb 4:15, KJV

Revelation aspect of the event, the Spirit or Life given aspect of the event.

And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! Mark 3:34, KJV

Lazarus as a friend of Jesus is a type of believer or person who have come to know Christ in the natural but doesn't have life of Christ in him or her. Such person the devil kills, bound and places in a tomb (decaying state or condition). Such kind of people, Jesus wept, seeing the state of condition the devil and the world keeps them. As we later saw from the verse. Because Jesus loves such person, verse 36 says, "Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him", Jesus wept for their condition.

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" John 11:25, KJV

This verse shows that a person can come to believe in the person of Christ probably based on what he or she is hearing about Christ but does not necessarily mean such person have experience the resurrected life of Christ, a life above the natural. The resurrected life of Christ makes us dead to the world or the natural but alive to God.

I hope this helps.

Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Meaning Of These Two Bible Verses? 1 John 5:16-17. by Goshen360(m): 8:08pm On Mar 02, 2012
I will attempt to break down my understanding of this verse in the following way:

"If any man sees his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death."

This refers to spiritual life imparted, through the prayer of the asker, into the one for whom he is asking. However, according to the context, this spiritual life will also rescue the one for whom the asker is asking, from the danger of suffering death because of his sinning (cross reference with James 5:15, “And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him”).

This does not mean that the asker has life of himself and can give life by himself to other, who sin. It means that such an asker, who is abiding in the Lord, who is one with the Lord, and who is asking in one spirit with the Lord (cross reference with 1 Cor. 6:17, But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit), becomes the means by which God's life-giving Spirit can give life to the ones for whom he is asking. This is a matter of life-imparting in the fellowship of the divine life. To be one who can give life to others, we must abide in the divine life and walk, live, and have our being in the divine life. In James 5:15-16 the prayer is for healing; here the prayer is for life-imparting.

"There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death."

Concerning sin unto death. There are different views or interpretations. Some say that it refers to the sin of the antichrist in denying that Jesus is the Christ, which keeps them in death (cut off from God) forever. This type of sin, the Apostle did not encourage us to pray life-imparting for such people because they have not come to believe in Jesus, not in fellowship and chosen their own ways.

I hope this helps

@Goshen360, be informed that you cant attack any pastor. Rather, you'll end up attacking yourself. Proverbs 6vs27 asks: Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?
I counsel you have a rethink on your perception over issues that has to do with pastors. In case you don't know this: The fact that they are called pastors means that any attack on them will be meted with divine judgement. If in doubt, pls read Numbers 12:1-8; 1Samuel 24:4-6; Psalms 105:15.
The pastors are not answerable to you but to God who called them. So, pls beware.

Dear friend, "When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul, Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee (Proverbs 2:10-11)"
Something fishy about you and your post,ok. However, i dont intend to go into that. Anyway, never mind, you will be under microscope henceforth. It will be a waste of time and space replying you.

I don't see anything wrong in selling and buying books and tapes . We should rather give God thanks for such inventions. If a man labour to acquire knowledge and he could take time to put his life study in a document for us to learn from thats commendable. Some people have died with the knowledge they had.

People paid to have books in bible days. Duplicates of book were made by scribes.

Proverbs 23:23
23 Buy the truth, and sell it not;also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

How Did Ethiopian eunuch get the copy of book of isaiah which  he was traveling with when Philip met him ? He bought it. Paul had collections of books too.

2 Timothy 4:13
13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

Nothing s wrong if a church sell things. It depends on purpose and motives. Some people give things that can not be used and they have to be sold. Jesus definitely sold some stuff. If not,his desciples  would not have asked for the perfume to be sold.

Mark 14:5
5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

Remeber jesus also had once counselled a man to sell his belonging and use for the poor.

Matthew 19:21
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me
.
Why do you always hide under "motives" for answering questions? What good motives could be right for doing something that is not biblical? And please, can you show us where Jesus sold some stuffs? Seriously. How could same Jesus that destroyed the temple cos they were buying and selling have sold some stuffs? Where did he sell it and to who? Kindly show us sir.

Christianity EtcRe: What Exactly Is The True Gospel ? by Goshen360(op): 5:05pm On Mar 01, 2012
Pastor AIO:
You have to be careful of the way you interpret that passage from Corinthians.

If the Gospel is about the death and resurrection of Christ (which it is) solely and fundamentally then how could Jesus have preached the Gospel while he was still alive?  How could John the baptist have preached the gospel?
We have just established that the gospel is simply Repentance from sin and believing in Jesus. During the time of Jesus, he cannot preach believing in his death and resurrection because he had not yet died and resurrected then likewise John the baptist. The only thing they can preach is REPENTANCE and believing in the person of Jesus. Also, remember, while Jesus was still walking, John said, "behold the lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world".

After the death of Jesus, what do you think they (the Apostles) will preach? Definitely not to believe in the physical person of Jesus anymore but the death, burial and resurrection which translates to forgiveness of sins.

For Further thought:  If baptism is symbolic of death and rebirth and John baptized before Christ was crucified and Jesus' disciples too baptized before the crucifixion then whose death and resurrection exactly does it symbolise?  Remember that we are all to die with Christ and be resurrected with him.
You are a bible student. The baptism of John is different because Christ had not died and resurrected then. The baptism of John to the Jews is UNTO same REPENTANCE (gospel). Listen to this,

Matthew 3:11, NIV
"I (John) baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."

Also, to Jesus, the baptism of John means fulfillment of righteousness not that Jesus is sinful and need to repent of his sins. Again, look at this,

Matt 3:13-15, NIV
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.

After the death, Jesus is not walking physically anymore then the believing in his death and resurrection we believe in and we are baptized. Remember John said, "I need to be baptized by you" to Jesus. This means there is baptism of Jesus also. I hope this helps.

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
This is the TRUE GOSPEL OF CHRIST. This is the gospel that Jesus preached from the beginning.

Math 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:15
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

This is the gospel that Paul proclaims throughout his ministry.

Rom 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

This is the gospel that Peter preached on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 2:22-24
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know. Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

This is the gospel that Paul says is the power of God

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

This is the gospel that is not being preached by the church today. Instead the church has substituted a false gospel, a powerless gospel that is really no gospel at all.

Gal 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

The so called gospel that is preached today is the “ask Jesus into your heart” gospel.  It is the gospel that says ‘Jesus loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life’ It is the gospel of the so called sinners prayer which is found nowhere in scripture. The gospel of give and get. Yes, Jesus loves us but doesn't love our sins and worldliness and dead word. He doesn't love our rebellion against God. He is jealous we taking side with the devil and the worldly practices. We must seek the kingdom of God first which starts with repentance from our sins and dead works and ALL other things will follow.

May the Spirit of God convince us of our shortcomings as we read this article.

This is why you see me sometimes attack pastors, many of them are the problem of the body of Christ. They seems not to preach the true gospel anymore but non spiritual things that doesn't have life. They make the bible say what they want it to say rather than saying what the bible wants them to say. The problem also lies in people that are full of greed and wants to take God like a magician for quick success, they don't read and study the bible for themselves but will rather rather take pastor's word. There are few good pastors anyway but many are huh??.

the kingdom of God is at hand, said over 2K years ago. Either it was at hand then, or really it wasn't because it is taking so long for the world to end, if it was at hand when it was said it was at hand.
considering his telling his disciples he will return, eminently before the end of the world, when he said it was at hand 2000 years ago. neither has he returned nor has the world ended. we are here still and it actually underscored the fact that the arrival of the man known as another comforter was just soon enough, considering that he must correct the mistakes established, etc. please read the duties of the another comforter who must minister to ignorant people.

shouldn't the true gospel be in a single gospel, the gospel of the one who preached the gospel in stead of collating "it" from many books; gospels according to many writers, acts, etc?
1. There are prophesies that must be fulfilled before the return of Christ. God is not a magician. God doesn't do things the way men wanted it to be except in some case perhaps when it involves miracle.

2. Bolded. The same true gospel of Jesus is ONE and it is spread into many forms. Permit me to say, just like and egg as whole and one but have many layers. I hope you get the picture. We want to get the true gospel and see how it is presented to us today. What do you understand by the gospel?
