Mikel in my opinion ranks with Ozil; Carzola; Iniesta; Mata; Fabregas if he plays in the Central to Attacking midfield role of the U21 competition where he was outstanding |
atlwireles: I think the revelation from this hearing are the 300 cars imported by Lagos state. How much did all these cars cost? Where are the cars today? What kind of cars were they?I wonder where and why Lagos state comes into this?? Its very clear from the statement made from Customs at the hearing yesterday that Lagos state has nothing to do with this as you are insinuating. Its this simple: For the purpose of National Sports Festival Hosted by Lagos state, an import duty waiver was granted to Coscharis to bring in/import cars for the use of the Festival. Coscharis then utilised the same waiver to cover the BMW cars so as to avoid duty payment & thats why Customs said no duty was paid on the cars. Simple. That action by Coscharis is proven is criminal and fraudlent |
Guilty of what exactly? First, the people shouting know nothing about NCAA or the Aviation ministry and the laws establishing the agencies. NCAA ought to follow a Public Procurement Act in acquisition of assets and once it is established that it was not done, the head of the agency involved takes responsibility not the head of the ministry. Note that part of the procurement procedure could be approval from the ministry to go ahead with the procurement process. That was why Bode George was sent to jail and not the Minister of Transport. When they were after Oteh in SEC for lodging in hotel and hosting delegates (clearly provided for in the her appointment privileges), no one mentioned that Olusegun Aganga was corrupt. The song was that Oteh is corrupt, even after when she exposed corrupt request from the HoR. When the economic crises hit Nigerian banking industry, Soludo(CBN head) was demonized, not the Finance Minister. When Maina looted pension funds, he was criticized as Maina, not Caleb Olubolade of Police Affair Ministry. When Farouk Lawan stuffed dollars in his cap, he was criticized, not the Speaker of House of Reps. But when Fola Akintotu of NCAA bought vehicles for NCAA, people decided to leave Fola and demonize the Aviation Minister. If there is any crime that this woman has committed, I will like to know about it. But if this is still about a vehicle purchased by NCAA, the bigots should leave her alone and hold Fola responsible, a man judged by Nigeria to be qualified enough to take decisions affecting the Agency.
Point of correction: Mr Joyce Nkemakolam in his capacity as Acting DG of NCAA bought the vehicles |
Deeply troubled by the quality of arguments/positions taken by "educated" Nigerians on the Bulletproof BMW cars saga. Its just indefensible that NCAA & Aviation Min will argue that its from their IGR & therefore we have no say. WE DO!! The IGR is our hard earned income that we pay as taxes at Airports and on Ticket purchases. A 1 way ticket to PH from Lagos averages =N=16,000. Only =N=3k+ goes to the Airline. The rest is Tax. A Lagos London ticket on Virgin is USD 444.01. NGN 172,711 represent taxes, fees, charges and carrier imposed surcharges. Its an obscene usage of our taxes & its condemnable. It must stop! |
gboss4sure: Funny Funny comments, Fashola is riding a 600million bullet proof cars, he also should resign and if at all stella is also found quilty, she should be sacked. What is Good for obi is good for simbi.Fashola drives around Lagos everyday, can you substantiate that the Jeep we see him is cost that much or you are just rebroadcating someone else's BC? |
Yoruba man DG NCAA bought armoured cars for himself and his foreign friends. And yorubas are asking a south eastern minister to go. Wonders shall never end
In a letter dated August 13, 2013, J.D Nkemakolam, the former Acting Managing Director of the NCAA, sent a letter to the Managing Director of Coscharis Motors asking the company to deliver two BMW 760 armoured vehicles to the agency based on a pro-forma invoice dated June 25, 2013 at the cost of N127, 575, 000 ($796, 846. 21) each. The total amount of the two black BMW Li HSS vehicles, with chassis numbers WBAH41050DW68032 and WBAHP41010DW68044 respectively, was N255, 150,000, or $1,593,687. 31. |
BekeeBuAgbara: While it's easy to tell princess Stella Odua to resign, I wonder why no one is calling for NCAA D.G, captain Fola Akinkuotu's head, the man who purchased the cars.In a letter dated August 13, 2013, J.D Nkemakolam, the former Acting Managing Director of the NCAA, sent a letter to the Managing Director of Coscharis Motors asking the company to deliver two BMW 760 armoured vehicles to the agency based on a pro-forma invoice dated June 25, 2013 at the cost of N127, 575, 000 ($796, 846. 21) each. Mobsync: It's funny how we Nigerians reason; no wonder GEJ said he's the world's most hated president. She earns income for the country, GEJ doesnt, he even abuses it (GEJ uses Aso Rock Banquet hall for PDP parties) She rents out her properties for public functions. She opens up a part of her Palaces for paid visits. Each celebration she does like her Jubilee earns heavy income for UK. I beg, no dey compare Transperency with Secrecy |
Alakeogun: Another TINUBU project to siphone lagos State. Another revenue collection schemeAided by the Igbos as its an Igbo man that practically owns the hotel I dont know some are just too lazy to do a small google research than come over to Nairaland to peddle rumours |
Why exactly should a normal Nigerian be bitter at the news of FG handover of PHCN to private inverstors after a more than 90% succesful privatisation process? I don't just get it. This PHCN strike you are talking about, will there really still be PHCN by the time it starts on October 2? I think it will be better if you share exactly why you are not happy at this news to the extent of attempting to douse the implication. After the handover today, the successor companies will kick in to restructure the DISCOs and GENCOs for more efficient service delivery and I think that should be more important to any one that wishes Nigeria well. For the sake of information, PHCN as we know it is functionally dead. They are being officially sent packing today and the corporate entity called PHCN will disappear after Mr President's handover. When that happens, EMS will be pronouced on the advice of NERC to the Minister of Power and their (EMS) job will be majorly the certification of electricity equipments among other ancilliary support services, no more a main service. The implication is that SON may not just be incharge of the certification of for example, the electric cables anymore but EMS. To understand exactly where we are in this privatization landscape, please, hear from the Minister here: http://leadership.ng/news/110913/phcn-ceases-exist-few-weeks-nebo If you can purchase researched works like the below, you will understand better what you are dealing with here. This is not just a goat meat pepper soup issue, but a very complex, well thought out policy that is so far recording almost 100% success. Now, let me state that non payment of few of the old PHCN workers as at today could reduce the success margin by not more than 5%, and a 95% success in power sector transformation target by any government any where in the world is a huge record. http://www.hbs.edu/faculty/Pages/item.aspx?num=43266
The success of all the story above depends on a strong regulatory body. I have not heard FG assure us of any form of customer protection moreso when they looked the other way when Meter Maintenance charge rose from =N=250 per month to =N=750 per month. Where on earth do you slam consumers that % difference & it is collected whether you are supplied electricity or not....thats the impunity in Nigeria for an equipment that you pay for life but never own. I think, judging by the buyers, we are in for some serious oppression. I wish to be proven wrong |
olokfor: Friday night will be a day that both pedestrians and motorists in ogba,ifako-Ijaiye local government area of Lagos state will not forget in a hurry. The static traffic jam started at about 4 pm and lasted till the early hours of saturday.Sheer indiscipline on the part of motorists causes such lengthy traffic jams. I have had to control traffic a few days ago at Bode Thomas/Adeniran Ogunsanya road junction Surulere. The average motorist is Lagos is a Stubborn Selfish Billy Goat. I succeeded for the 30 minutes thereabout but ended up wt a splitting headache; lost voice and sore throat not to talk of a sweaty smelly body. Too many impatient goons around town |
homesteady: HmmPls note that the ex-BBC staff was invited to cover govt activities in Delta State so he would not say otherwise even though his article was factual |
arrested for picking passengers along the road, in an unauthorized bus-stop |
Babaek: chai everybody wants to question GEJ's mentality, even imbeciles taking poo with saliva coming out from the sides of their. This forum should be for sound minds, y don't u keep mute if u have no valid point to raise. When you see bad or wrong thing and you fail to correct it, it will turn out to haunt you......just continue in your support of ignorance and impunity and see how your seat of govt will be desecrated sooner than later. Blind follow follows |
I still do not understand the mentality of GEJ. Why should you hold a Party Dinner in ASO Rock?? For crying out loud, ASO Rock is not PDP's property. He has repeatedly done this with impunity e.g, PDP dinner after Democracy day; PDP BOT meeting that ran over 2 days at ASO Rock. ASO Rock is govt property, not Party property |
Are we now saying OBJ is siding Atiku's camp? Is OBJ now willing for Atiku to take a shot at becoming President? |
I have a personal feeling that he Minister of Agric's Measurement/Metrics Information System is faulty but i may be wrong. He said we have achieved 33% production of rice meaning that every 1 in 3 bags of rice is produced in Nigeria. Have you seen that reflected in the markets and stores you patronise for rice? Has the 1 in 3 bags threatned or even forced down the price of the 2 in 3 still imported? #justwonderingsha |
The op is mad....why shud the gov of cross river locate tinapa in lagos? And when has calabar become south east? This post main aim is to start a tribal war no more no less EDIT:this poo made fp without the op correctin his mistake..haba nairaland where are thou headeth?!
Nothing stops him from buying land in Lagos; building it there and collect rent. Its simple business sense. Lagos State has investment in other states...its simple business....Pls think outside the box |
Ozil now an Arsenal player as just announced on Sky News at 10.26pm |
If you are into the construction business bigtime, you often times come across some info that are quite privileged. I agree 101% with Billyonaire. If i were to do an "esse walter" of the construction industry here now, you people will kill me.
Yes i am, i am a Construction Project Manager in addition to other skills |
publisher: I get you.If you are angry, go back and live in Uyo then. A level of objectivity is required in constructive arguments. Comparing 2 roads being built takes into consideration Terrain; Population; Usage during construction; Disruptions during construction and importantly Funding (Akwa Ibom collects free 13% derivation, LASG has to grind Tax out of you & I) You might also be shocked to find out that the population of Lekki to Epe is more than the whole of Uyo |
Billyonaire: Not really, LCC is actually owned by Tinubu and Fashola via their Surrogates, what happens is that the Eko Atlantic City, which they own majority of, is a better investment for them, so they are looking for a way to get more funding from state funds to push the construction, so it becomes necessary for them to let go the Toll in exchange for the billions and use the billions on the Eko Atlantic Project and Free Trade Zone project, its all thievery. You are watching too many movies. With this conspiracy theory mindset, you would do well as a script writer for Nollywood. Make haste while the sun shines |
KwoiZabo: you are big fooolIt takes one to know one |
Pls pls pls...its a big insult comparing the two, one is a smoke-weed-lord, a criminal, a looter while the other one is a blessing to Nigeria...God bless Stella Odua
Blessing to Nigeria?? when she is one of the Fuel Subsidy Cabal chopping your money like pikin dey chop sweet. Too many uninformed Nigerians sha ![]() |
Am still amazed at the ease with which we are hoodwinked in Nigeria. (1) Airline passenger growth is fuelled by lack of alternatives like good road travel & proper rail travel. (2) The decline in the figures were largely due to fear of flying after the Dana crash (An aftermath that saw the wealthy flying from Lagos to London to fly to Abuja) (3) The fragility of his growth figure is obvious. If only 1 airline could affect the growth % so much, then it means, the industry is fragile meaning the % figure would have disappeared if AERO & ARIK pulled out of the industry. (4) Its curious Dana could have brought down the % growth but AIR Nigeria did not...hmm (5) We should be challenging him and his boss Stella Oduah for the high taxes collected on Airfares & what they do with it instead of sycopantly praising them. A one way ticket to Abuja of 18,000 gives 25% to the airline and the remainder is Aviation Tax Make una shine una eyes please |
deeptesting: Hahahahaha what a funny and lame response from LASG...Now the question is if you have not rendered these people homeless and jobless where are they going to live while going about their daily activity that will put food down on the table for their families before the construction of better roads, health care center etc . After turning this slums to mega rich estate is it this same slum dwellers that will have access to the facilities you have mentioned? Fashola should visit Lateef Jakande to borrow a leaf from him on how to build government houses for the poor and not government houses for the rich....Your policies are Anti-poor period.(1) There is nothing to learn from Jakande Low cost houses. They are all collapsing 30 years after. Go to Jakande on lekki Expressway. Go to Adeniji Adele; Go to Isolo and Iponri low cost and you will see the evidence of bad projects by Jakande. (2) It is not Lagos State Govt's business where they are going to live or when has it been LASG's business where you have chosen to live? Govts all over the world have housing scheme for subscribers whether poor or rich and if you qualify, you are allocated one but are Nigerians willing to meet the requirements of qualification? as we always feel we are smart and seek to circumvent the laws. (3) It is only a WICKED person that will say Badia should not be cleared out. I have been involved with an NGO that raised money for kids living in a place called Dustbin Village where people were living on dumpsites. Is it your wish for someone to keep living there? why dont you exchange your own comfort and go live there. Same for Makoko where i have also gone to help young children there too (4) |
Good for Business and Convinience. |
musiwa36: With the level of poverty in nigeria. It is wise to make them unemployed.Sorry, Leaders don't reason or make Utterances like you just did. Those whom you lead need to be delivered from your inductrination |
For as long as we applaud Backwardness, things will never change. How can we applaud trains that take over a day to reach its destination for crying out loud! Once upon a time London to Manchester was 5 hours by train, today, you can do it in just over 2 hours, WHY? because Service Improvement is driven by Competition and Culture not by Sychophancy and at least they are trying slogan even though TRILLIONS have been spent since Abacha days till now. For those who think Logistics businesses will go out of business, it works both ways, they can either buy Cargo spaces on the train or convince their clients that road haulage is more advantageous in terms of Speed over Risk. As for Indomie Company using the cargo train to Kano, they would have done their Risk Assesment & i pray its not perishables that they are transporting as the present number of hours to Kano cannot be favourable to any company with Cyclic deadlines and deliverables |
I shudder to believe that majority of Nairalanders are reflection of today's youth or else Nigeria's future is in serious trouble. Totally incapable of rational thinking. 99.9% of comments on this subject exhibit frightening ignorance. Migeria needs help fast and now for her youths |
