Is that a wise decision. That is a stupid decision. How much is lagbus making per day, that you will create 600,000 criminal in one day.

If you claim income generation as your reason from lagbus. It is a stupid reason. Because if you have 600,000 you are better given them weekly fee for them to pay the government than put them on the unemployment market. if he claim His commissioners advise him to make that decision, do you think they merit leadership.

What type of decision is that.

What is leadership. Is a leader someone who destroy the life of thousand for just for some few people interest. Is that leadership. that is not leadership.

I dont care what US or Uk do. A wise leader most look at its environment to make wise decision. That was not a good decision.

Leadership is not about making the life of Adenuga better or Adeboye or dangote for the life of millions.. That is bad leadership.

A govt is about making many people life better and not of few.

For as long as we applaud Backwardness, things will never change. How can we applaud trains that take over a day to reach its destination for crying out loud! Once upon a time London to Manchester was 5 hours by train, today, you can do it in just over 2 hours, WHY? because Service Improvement is driven by Competition and Culture not by Sychophancy and at least they are trying slogan even though TRILLIONS have been spent since Abacha days till now.

For those who think Logistics businesses will go out of business, it works both ways, they can either buy Cargo spaces on the train or convince their clients that road haulage is more advantageous in terms of Speed over Risk.

As for Indomie Company using the cargo train to Kano, they would have done their Risk Assesment & i pray its not perishables that they are transporting as the present number of hours to Kano cannot be favourable to any company with Cyclic deadlines and deliverables

And for you information the average fare most of the present airlines are charging is 23,000 naira.....Arik is even charging an average of 30,000 naira for an hour journey, which i believe you will agree is way too high and thats what the minister intend to bring down with the new carrier.

All local destination should not be more than 15,000 naira....and the airlines will always have loaded planes if their prices can come down to this average

100% fallacy! You cannot crash prices below what is charged now and be profitable. See a typical fare to Abuja from Lagos:

Adult fare single of NGN 2,999.00 Total Fare including taxes is NGN 19,998.00 meaning Tax collected by Federal Govt & Min of Aviation is NGN 16,999.

Please intelligently tell me how you can charge any less than 3k with a full load of 120 passengers or less on an Embraier and still remain profitable

What ever category of migrants we are anywhere in the world we abuse it up to a level deserving of expulsion.
(a) London Metropolitan University had their international students' application withdrawn from these same countries, Nigeria inclusive last year for student visa abuse
(b) Qatar banned Nigerians from obtaining their visa not long ago
(c) Irish-Born child passport that had been in existence for over 50 years abused by Nigerians to the level it was reviewed
(d) Dont even talk about our behaviour in South Africa.

It is not that other Nationals do not take advantage of "loopholes" in the Western world, we feel we are smart and are chancing them and ignorantly enough, dont know that the system is closing in on us (Has the system not used Biometrics to close down on "Ori Olori? i.e, using another person's passport)

With respect to retaliation like for like, there is nothing to celebrate about that. Dont let your hypocritical leaders fool you...its all grandstanding and hot air puffing and we should stop deluding ourselves that the Western world needs us. Aero ticket from Lagos to PortHarcourt costs about 18,000. Only 4,237 of it goes to Aero, the rest is tax.

One of the celebrations of our President's visit to South Africa is the Visa waiver for Diplomatic & Official passports still leaving us ordinary citizens on a waiting time of 5weeks. There was no mention of our own frustrations at the hands of S.A visa offices in lagos. My people, its all about them only o! We the Citizens are on our own o!

As for the 3,000 pounds, i think its too high but i dont frown at a form of bond moreso that its refundable & will only be used for search and deportation costs if the person absconds, so genuine applicants need not worry.

In closing, Britain is sacrificing heavily by enduring substantial financial cuts to help them get out of debt. they are collectively paying the price for the excesses of the past but we all know that the reverse is the case here in Nigeria where we constantly live in denial and we are throwing money around like lottery winners without any thought for tommorrow.
We celebrate 1 Nigerian on Forbes Rich list while 100million others are on poverty list.
We celebrate gains from NSE Gambling Casino, the only stock exchange in the world that is immune to SocioPoliticalEconomic happenings. (Terrorism does not affect price of stocks; change of Govt does not affect price of stocks; Inflation does not affect it. It means its a standalone & is not tied to the fabric of the society it exists in. Strange!!)
We beg for donations for medical ailments for treatment abroad yet we boast of having the best doctors who use candlelight to perform operations
We claim to be the best educated blacks in the world yet 3 marks over 200 is a passmark for cetain people.
We are a nation of contradiction & i wonder how long it will last

I totally agree with you. He takes Official property as personal property. I can remember the following gross misuse of public property:
(1) Holding PDP family dinner in the banquet hall of Aso Rock 30/5/2013

(2)Holding PDP BoT meeting over 2 nights at Aso Rock

(3) Reuben Abati, a govt employee bn used to announce the outcome of the BoT meetings.

(4) Conveying his Presidential election application form to INEC office with a State House vehicle.

These are all party activities, can PDP not rent halls for their events?

It takes upward of 1 month plus for you to have your visa processed in Lagos & this is talking from experience as in December 2012, it took them 5 weeks to return my passport & also took 4weeks + for renewal in May. Nigeria is toast for foreign coutries because we do not protect ourselves & we cant protect because we dont produce. The stock market has not benefitted the Nigerian Economy as much as it has benefitted Foreign and Rich Nigerian profit takers. A Stock market should provide production companies with cheap funds but at the end of the day, the foreign multinationals who are listed on them receive the cheap funds and on the other hand are involved in excessive capital flight. Dont lets even go into what the Nigerian Conglomerates do with the cheap funds.

In a nutshell, the Nigerian economy is a big scam/racket where the foreigners come and rape whilst the owners of the land watch helplessly

The first phase of the Lagos state light rail that'll soon be completed is good but its NOTHING compared to the Lagos-kano rail line. The socio-economice importance of the Lagos-kano rail line is just too huge to be ignored. You may complain about the speed but the most important thing is that its serving its purpose. Even when faster lines are completed, some people will still chose to travel by the narrow guage line because of socio-economic reasons.

You IGNORANTLY said nothing has changed on the Lagos-kano rail line. Follow the links in my first post and you'll see that the trains now have air-conditioned couches, tv screens for entertainment,etc. But it could get better

I will acknowledge that it helps economically as goods like petroleum products can be transported resulting in less pressure on our highways but i totally disagree with the social aspect of it, because, instead of giving nigerians hope of comfortable journey, you subject them/ force down a 30 hour journey down their throats after spending trillions of naira? & u ask me to celebrate that? NEVER!!!

Let me provide you wt my own 1st hand experience of NRC rail service. We organised an excursion train ride for our children from Mushin rail platform to Ijoko & back. We took over 2 coaches from NRC, got cleaners to go over to Iddo Terminus, scrubbed the 2 coaches from ceiling to floor including the toilets. Rented 4 armed mobile policemen for security & guess what, the ACs didnt work & we had to rely on Fans and open window which the children enjoyed. Train was exceedingly slow and other coaches were overcrowded but thankfully, it was an uneventful journey. More More More needs to be done to achieve 1950 rail service level.

Bros, if Lagos is not building from scratch, what is it doing? Building on alrady existing infrastructure? U r the one who needs to educate yourself before coming here to post. You can also take a trip down to National Theatre and going and see with your eyes. You can drive down from Orile to Volks and see the road works and expansion. You can go read about landowners and building owners that have bn compensated for their demolished buildings. Pls educated yourself
