Good concept.I have always wondered why governments could not initiate industries and privatize them to people. This is to jump start some industries and economy in the nation and enable the markets for them.Chinese machines could be a good start with little cost.gradually we will get there.Good idea governor and good motivation GEJ!
Politics › Re: The Best Democratic President Nigeria Has Ever Had by hakanai(m): 9:46am On Nov 02, 2012
Ikengawo: so far GEJ. I also think he has faced the most challenges since Gowon so he gets extra credit (Boko Haram, floods, subsidy, PHNC privatization)
He's also been the least powerful of our presidents. Ministries and departments like the CBN are more independent, the Senate is more independent as it as ever been, he's not a big wig in his party and opposition is the strongest it's ever been, so dealing with the problems are harder for him.
^^^^ Don't also forget that during campaigns we were all told having a name Goodluck is divine and would bring us fortunes!!!! how come the most disasters happen during his time, excluding BH and others that are man made. This is to show you its more than a name and more to do with God and nature! You can be called anti-flood and still have floods. So the silly ads, people kept doing and making him seem divine and God favored maybe totally wrong. What people should do is pray that God guides and sets him on the right path.So the best in him we enjoy. Not lie about Gods favour on him!! courtesy of thieves and corrupt persons on his train.Who are they to even speak for God?So much for GOODLUCK!!!!

My vote puts GEJ for now.Yar'adua would have being my choice but he didn't stay long

texazzpete: Simple solution. Arrest Uwazuruike for kidnapping.

'fierce looking men forcing others into a vehicle and driving them away' is not an 'invitation', it's KIDNAPPING, pure and simple.

Politics › Re: FG May Accept Boko-Haram's Dialogue Offer With Condition by hakanai(m): 9:23am On Nov 02, 2012
e remain south east, south west and middle belt!!!! I am just saying, the way things are going we are encouraging people to use violence to get attention.Thank God for getting us this solution and pray that what ever GEJ and government as a whole decide it would solve this Boko-haram and any such problem in the future. We have alot of un-attended issues of conflict in this country and people need to put this things aside and work together.Let FGN call a SNC or confab.SO things are ironed out nicely.
leaving certain issues unresolved for political advantage during elections will not help us at all.Lets resolve as much or if possible all. From using dialogue to redress (well deserved apologies or compensation).
Resolve our issues of difference/conflicts to a minimum and tackle insecurity.President GEJ if this thing happens and is tackled for good you have my endorsement for 2015!

They need to keep quiet. As i see them losing! Also i see them blaming colonial conspiracy with Nigerian government or better still use the issue of bakassi to create doubt about the integrity of the court.

CHESSBOARD: Yes the same love has engulf the people of JOS his home town. May the love also reach your ppl
lol! look Mr. Man, when Gowon ruled even biafra could not break away and peace was widely enforced.Over years, same has being maintained.Up until this generation of politicians came and truncated it for political relevance and outrageous greed. This people who cut across ethnic lines, are to be blamed. Not Gowon, not Awolowo or any tribe but our political parties.Especially PDP!!!!
So What is happening in Jos now is peace and peace building. Before now Jos had crisis which is similar to the Ebonyi communal crisis, that has caused life and property QED.Nothing new or unique.Just conflict of interest between neighbors.Typical instance is in the Itshekiri vs Ijaw, muadakeke,Ebonyi etc
So there is always conflict all over the world and we are not an exception. Its just that we all need to find a collective way out of it.But surely we would. So stop counting on it as a make up for your loss during the war.We have had amany and have scaled so many including biafra. Now what remains is time and government commitment to tackle the changing environment. The FGN is learning fast and the trend is changing. So are the people.Gradually but surely Nigerians will exist and come out even stronger. While the defunct biafran apologist will remain in denial and certain decline for eternity . cool cool cool cool

Ricoluv: October 29, 2012 by Friday Olokor, Abuja.

The wreckage of the aircraft carrying Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba, which crashed behind NNPC Yola Depot, on Yola-Numan Road… on Friday.
| credits: NAN
FAMILIES of the injured aides of Taraba State Governor Dambaba Suntai, on Sunday, asked the government to extend same overseas treatment to their loved ones as their injured boss.
The governor and the aides were the occupants of the Cessna 208, 5N-BMJ Jet that crashed at the Yola airport last Thursday.
Some members of the families who craved anonymity told journalists in Abuja that if the governor could be flown to Germany, it showed that the government lacked confidence in the local hospitals.
They spoke their minds when the injured aides were transferred from Yola to the National Hospital, Abuja, 30 hours after Suntai was flown abroad.
“Considering the degree of injuries, I think they should be transferred overseas. After all what is good for the governor will still be good for his aides. They were in the same aircraft with the governor and I think they should be given the same treatment like him,” one of them said.
Our correspondent learnt in Abuja on Sunday that Suntai’s Aide de Camp, Dasat Iliya, had been lying unconscious at the Yola hospital since the incident that also left the governor in critical condition.
But the governor who had been airlifted to the National Hospital on Friday was early on Saturday flown to Germany for treatment while the injured aides were brought to the National Hospital on Sunday.
The Chief Detail to the Governor, Joel Dan, was also said to be having a fractured arm while the governor’s Chief Security Officer, Timo Dangana, reportedly had his two legs damaged.
Both Dan and Dangana had been reportedly taken to Jalingo, Taraba State Capital for treatment before they were transferred to Abuja Sunday night.
The governor’s aides were brought to the National Hospital in a convoy of siren-blaring ambulances at 6.40pm on Sunday.
This is not fair and i hope the aviation industry will also look into it and ascertain if the governor is suppose to maintain his license after this o! grin grin grin

Gowon hits Achebe on civil war, says: He wrote out of ignorance
http://www.osundefender.org/?p=50284

Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Nigeria’s Ex-president.
War time Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, has criticized renowned author, Professor Chinua Achebe, over his new book on the Nigerian civil war, saying he{Achebe }does not know the issue he was writing about.
Gowon said he was ready to face the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague on the matter if necessary.

“What role did Achebe play in the secessionist plans? Achebe must have been outside the country during the war and probably did not know what happened during the period otherwise he would not have written on what he was not sure of “, he remarked.

The erstwhile Nigerian leader, who was answering questions from journalists courtesy, visit to Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu at the Presidential Lodge, Minna, Niger state, yesterday, said Achebe must have been talking out of ignorance, adding that he and the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo had no regrets over their roles in the civil war, pointing out that if there was no secession, there would not have been civil war.

“In fact , if there was no secession by the south eastern part of the country, there would have been no civil war because right from the beginning of the crises, the war would have been averted if not for the secession . It was something I believed we could have stopped,” he stressed.

Gowon also debunked the claim by the author that his administration embarked on the mass killing of Igbo, adding that the federal troops did not also use hunger as a weapon to dislodge the dissidents.

“It was the Igbo that objected to the creation of corridor for movements of medical aid and food supplies to the civilian population at the period; on this, I am ready to face the International Criminal Court of Justice at the Hague for prosecution over the role played by me during the war and, fortunately, some Nigerians are still alive to bear witness to the roles played by both the leadership of the secessionist group and the then Federal Military Government under my leadership, “the war-time leader stated.

He also recalled that during the war, a ship named “Josina” and owned by the secessionist group, which they claimed was carrying agricultural implements, was captured by federal troops and it was subjected to a thorough search and the cargo turned out to be a collection of arms and ammunition.

Gowon, who was in Minna for a 2-day prayer organized by Nigeria Prays, a group he leads, said that the massive deaths recorded by the Igbo during the civil war was caused by their own propaganda machine which claimed that the northern invaders were coming to their camps and that caused panic and pandemonium among their people because some people were trying to move from one location to the other out of fear of imaginary attacks by the so called northern invaders and without food.

^^^^^^So much for Igbo propaganda and fairy tales. The same crap that goes on and on leading this folks to spew lies about the civil war and all that is Nigeria and Nigerians. Now its become clear that there leaders starved them out of pride and also chased them up and down out of propaganda.
