The state or local government can invest and make those boats better and safer. This could attract more visitors to the area. Enjoy your Christmas OP. |

Can't pay 110billion for the revitalization of a over 100 government owned universities both FG and states but can delve into Elephant projects like feeding and deworming with 142billon. With 60% budget implementation they will spend at list 80 billion next year on this. Wait and see how much they will offer for the higher institutions for revitalization next year. Yet some people are expecting covid19 vaccine research in Nigeria. It's a big shame what our priorities are. |

This is one of the problems that comes with IPPIS. You go through a lot of bureaucracy to get approval for employment and the new employees suffer before they get paid. It doesn't apply to police only. |

Ikeja electric bill just landed. Sept 2020. 18k plus. Since the government is removing her hands from everything. I think they should just allow parents to start paying tution fees in universities. E.g the sum of 400k for a start will be good, such that even the professor's can't send their children to school. I think this is the way forward. 400k for social sciences and Art 500K for the sciences and Engineering and 600-800k for those intending to study Medical courses and Law. This will be very good on the Nigerian worker on a minimum wage of 30k. ASUU should encourage government to do what they want but are hiding under disguise. Maybe that will make the system fuctional and they will have funds to fix the Universities. The #Endtutionfees protest that will follow will make #endsarsachildsplay. 1 Like |

Ustec: The appropriate word here should have been Leadership by example. They should cut off all the bogus allowances and serve as a civil servant on the same payroll and let's see if others won't support them. |

otokx: Did you work with IPPIS? Why have funds been released and paid to other federal staff since December 2019 but the Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and a few are yet to be paid? Dont you think that someone is trading with their money? Is that not an example of centralized corruption? Why are deductions not been remitted as at when due? 3 Likes |

Xixtie: You should know that Medical Doctors who are consultants working in the University dont earn the same with others. IPPIS works with approved payments from NSIWC and this information is available online. So don't use an isolated few cases to debunk what others are saying. 1 Like |

Monjerk: How much is your salary? All government workers pay tax. An assistant lecturer at Bar in 2014 has a gross of around 155k including housing, which is slightly about 1,000 dollars as at then with black market price was 163k. With IPPIS deductions and poor economy a professor earns less than the current rate of 1,000 dollars in 2020. The amount a PhD student will be paid for doing his PHD research outside the country. If everything keep going up, then salary of someone who pays for journal publications, society dues, conference participation and others in dollars, euros and GBP should not be stagnant. Not to talk of housing cost that has increased to times 2 or 3 of what government pays you depending on where you live. Nigerian workers have sacrificed enough. This is not the kind of CHANGE or NEXT LEVEL we bargained for. 1 Like 1 Share |

UDUJ: Not only this group, the supposed minimum wage was implemented to universities, polytechnics and Colleges of education in February 2020. However, their arrears with effect from April '18' 2019 till January 2020 have not been paid. They paid some civil servants December last year but others are still waiting, who knows where the money released is being kept. |

jericco1: Ignorance. ASUU struggles gave birth to ETF now called TETFUND in the early 90's. So any school you see TETFUND or ETF intervention project in any university, polytechnic, college of education or monothecnics. Just know you are seeing ASUU product through strike action. Many state University today's only have TETFUND as their major infrastructure funder. |

To annoy some lecturers that's 5k more than the IPPIS take home of a PhD holder who is a lecturer II. Wahala dey ooo, how will there not be unemployment? 2 Likes |

Haba mallam, even buhari will not tell you he implemented IPPIS. He only extended it away from the core civil service who has been on it for a very long time to the military, paramilitary and tertiary education. We will also encourage him to extend same to CBN, FIRS, NNPC and others not yet on the platform. If he can do this as well as make plain the amount of money generated by this agencies of government for government then he would have done well. He should also make those jobs not attractive by making the salaries and allowances of the civil service to be at closing to par with those of the agencies above. Then we know that they are all government workers. It's a scam for an agency to generate for government take percentages for it's running cost and determine her salaries by herself at the detriment of others. adanny01: |
Politics / Re: Nigerian Soldiers Hail Chadian Army On Their Way To Attack Boko Haram (Video) by Hearme(m): 5:39pm On Apr 05, 2020 |
fmc1: That's incorrect. Nigerian Soldiers have been the most involved and dedicated to the fight agaist Boko haram. When they (BH) run to Chad, Cameroon and Niger, there is a limit you can take the fight to an Ally's territory. The Lockdown all over the world is an advantage to crush Boko Haram in which all the nation's involved are clamping down on them seriously. NIGER and Nigeria lost several soldiers recently but they have still not retreated. It's now an offensive fight from the nation's involved to clear them off their hiding places. The lockdown will make them have no supplies in terms of weapons and other logistics 1 Like |

Education / Re: SSANU Joins ASUU To Reject IPPIS by Hearme(m): 6:02pm On Mar 16, 2020 |
sinkhole: That's one of the reasons ASUU is saying no. How can you be risking your life travelling to Abuja in the Nigerian of today over salary issues. Where is the issue of decentralization? Where will they sleep in Abuja? Who will feed them there? What if there cases aren't attended to and they have to go again? Is it someone, that hasn't taking salary that will be traveling about? Then the real man no man will begin to show up. Pay __K and you will get it done in 48hours. Is that how we move from under developed country to developing country not to mention developed country?? 5 Likes 2 Shares |
