Firefire: God bless Him Even if he is yet to pay pension arrears of the living Heroes (Military Pensioners) since June 2010 till Date. I think the President created a lot of enemies for himself by not taking into consideration the plight of the pensioners generally, including other ministries. We still have Health workers strike on and Judiciary workers are also on strike. My opinion; his tenure produced more strike than others. |

Have you been living in Nigerian at all. Economic crumbling reports, Boko Haram Sponsors and several other high profile stuffs have not made public. I lost count of committees that have been set up by this government without the reports been made public and even those made public are not acted upon. Just work for a change and all will be well. Vicel: France is actually the one bullying Nigeria. They did so with Bakassi because of Oil and Fish now they want to take chad basin away from Nigeria. The real truth will soon be exposed. Its a pity that the britons only support small countries under treath. May be they would have assisted Nigeria from what France has created. |

Nigerians were embarrassed and no body is talking. I think it is time that those who call themselves NLC, TUC, Student unions, Nigerians in Diaspora and other CIVIL SOCIETY Groups should arise and mobilize for a great protest against the abuse of office by the executive arm of government to protect our democracy. The same stupid act has been repeated in Rivers, Edo, Ekiti, Adamawa, Nassarawa, Taraba and now the Federal House of Representatives. The move is now going beyond the abuse of the legislature to physically assaulting the judiciary as was carried out in Ekiti. If we as a people refuse to call our politicians to order, they will ruin this country. I begin to even wonder if the Military should be called an Arm of government in African Countries to check the recklessness of the politicians. These acts alone are capable of generating more crises adding to the Boko Haram issue that is not yet solved. How come we have a government who cant settle labor issues in the Health sector, Educational Sector and issues relating to pensioners but are quick to settle political differences with use of security personnel or the use of thugs. |

Whatever happened, the two local goverment still under intense fire would not have voted and this might create serious trouble. The deputy governor by my own thinking deserves the post. I see greed on the part of the speaker and his members when they asked him to resign. DP GOVS ARE TO TENDER RESIGNATION TO THE GOVERNOR AND NOT THE HOUSE. I commend the judiciary on this. |

Skills related to entertainment sell well. E.g. Keshi takes 5million per month while a profesor takes about 500k per month. D-banj and co earn more, Messi , Ronaldo, Hazard, Rooney, Tiger wood and even our JJ Okocha who returned to write a GCE did earn more. It all depends on the interest of the people and the sponsors. People like music more and thats why D-banj and others are ambassadors of Glo but no academician. Most glo staff doing the brain work dont even earn what the ambassadors earn. THE TRUTH IS THAT THERE ARE SO MANY MUSICIANS WHO DONT GET TO THE TOP, SO MANY FOOTBALLERS WHO MAY NEVER GO BEYOND DIVISION 2. Its a world of competition. Pray for light so your skill can sell like that of facebook owner, Bill gate, nairaland owner Seun Osewa and others. |

Health / Re: NMA Dares Jonathan - Asks Resident Doctors To Reject Sack Letters by Hearme(m): 10:04pm On Aug 15, 2014 |
Why won't doctors fight. A house officer who graduated from Medicine earns around 180k montly if you add hazard allowance of 100k montly, the house officer will now take 275k. That is minus the 5k hazard they earn now. That is on hazard alone, CONMESS and other stuff they are fighting for is excluded. 275k is the salary of a Senior lecturer in the university. I'm also sure that is the equivalent for most level 13 officers in the civil service. For God sake MBBS is an honors degree (undergraduate). I can bet that the government will only invite more trouble to itself by foolishly acceding to the financial demands of the doctors. Hazard allowance of 1.2 million per annum is totally not fair on other employees of government. The police and Soldiers whose life is at stake at all time will also need that amount. lastly if our leaders are not wasteful and accruing to them selves bogus allowances, the union struggles would be reduced. There is nothing that says a senator in Abuja should not take 450k around what perm secs and top civil servants earn. If you say it is not a reality, how does a professor in Abuja survive and a Senator fills he or she can't survive. This is the exact cause of our problems. If we have some form of close equality in income, then people can understand and agree that the country is poor. But as long as senators continue to earn tens of million monthly, there is bound to be more labour crises. 8 Likes |

oyb: Zoologist thinking. Zoology, microbiology, botany graduates are all people who could not meet the required scores to study medicine. A superiorly mediocre student like gej, who could not find employment outside of a university. You must be a fool. The over 1 million people applying through JAMB can't all study Medicine. Not everyone even want to do so anyway. Preterm mind. Face what is thrown at you. 8 Likes |

Right on DSTV studio. A box locked up before the match started showed correctly in a paper that Mario Gotze will score by 113 minute and the game will end 1-0 in favor of Germany. Is this WIZARDRY OR WHAT? The entire studio went quite with Sammy Kuffor telling him he could have given him the details for lottery play. I think this was more perfect than octopus Paul. jpphilips: St Gerald Hospital is run by an administrator. Its a big hospital in Kaduna in which many consultants and other health professionals do work. We only have a weak law here in Nigeria. That an issue has been legitimate for a thousand years does not make it right. We as individuals must embrace change. What I expect the NMA to do is not to begin to antagonize but as intellectuals think well to fight a good cause for their members. E.g Technologist in the universities fought for an upgrade of their Hazard allowance they got it, but a science lecturer who is involved in the practicals and research does not earn that hazard allowance because his union did not fight for that thus all lectures irrespective of the position earn 4K as hazard per annum which is equivalent to about 333.33 naira montly. NMA should think deep and act like the senior union rather than arguing and quarrelling. Remember ASUU fought during the strike but what was released was for all unions even though it was only the salaries of ASUU members that were stopped. |

MOBBDEEP: Your Fellowship is equivalent to a diploma in Nigeria. It's not a university program and you can also check in developed countries the difference between the two. As I have said earlier, he will continue to reap his seed of discord, and that will hunt him for a life time except he calls his men to order. It is demonic for you to seek progress but don't want others to progress. Obasanjo is a man that fits you chaps. By now another parasitologist or pharmacist would have become minister of health. SURGEON GENERAL KOR DR GENERAL NI. Even the non-surgical related consultantancy fields amongs you are opposed to it. 1 Like |

armadeo: Keep shut if you don't know. Academy used to be a 3years program in the past. With the introduction of degree, it became a 5years program. Around 2002 -2003 cadets training was returned to 4years such that about 3 regular courses of cadets graduated within 4years, before it was returned back to a 5year program. So as rightly as he has said, those officers who enlisted within those years are captains. |

Joenz: Why are you bringing another dimension to the discuss? If so,why hasn't NMA gotten a circularisation of an agreement to implement its 24 demands even if its for not implementation but merely to douse tension? You all keep misleading the public like non-drs have not always been appointed consultants before prof Onyebuchi Chukwu stopped it muttering words like consultancy is exclusively preserved for the drs.I believe you aware of NMA dropping 21 of its previous spurious demands, pursuing just three nw.We stay calm and await how the imbroglio ends. My first encounter with the minister was bad. It was a lecture on the Golden Jubilee of MEDILAG. The man said medical postgraduate fellowship was higher than the PhD degree. To me that was pretty foolish of him to say so, with professionals of different fields in the university seated for the lecture. Its a shame that a man of this state of mind heads the ministry of health. He will definitely attempt to kill other professions in the health sector. I'm happy he is reaping the seed of discord he has planted. In a sane country Wike and Onyebuchi would have longed been fired. 1 Like |

Mbediogu: the issue is not whether doctors are becoming gods like journalists who have been known to start and end wars thro the ages with what they write, it goes beyond that. Our calling is that of service, not speculation and unfortunately it is always a matter of life and death rather than of war and peace. How has it worked outside Nigeria? Both in developed and developing countries. |

Onlinebizexpert: Do I blame her no......... 90% of doctors are arrogant. You know only the surface of Biochemistry and physiology. I challenge you to a debate on this. If a PhD holder starts at level 10 equivalent in the university, no honors degree should be granted a level 12 equivalent. Anyway I don't so much blame the doctors, I blame the lawmakers who have spent 15 good years in this dispensation of democracy doing nothing, yet collecting all. If our labour laws and salaries and wages commission do function well there will be less crisis in the system. Only that none of them are seeing, yet they have committees overseeing everything in this country. Its a shame that the ASUP strike is still on and the ASUU issues are still been toyed with. Labour issues might never end unless the political appointees begins to think straight. I'm still baffled that a 8 years serving governor who solicited for your vote to lead is entitled to a live pension while workers who worked for 35years are told to do contributory pension scheme. Why can't the president and governors do contributory pension from their official salary? Why should they enjoy free medical health after stealing much from us? Its really a pain that there is no fairness or even a slight equity in our nation. This challenges will continue unless a thinking government sees to it. I'm not sure confab is dealing with labour issues appropriately at all. PLEASE VOTE WISELY IN 2015. 1 Like |

I'm neither APC nor PDP but I believe that God is working on this nation. Its time the country is rid from the hands of Cabals. They should continue to expose themselves for the good of Nigerians. The divide might pay the general populace while APC emergernce as a strong opposition will also make the ruling party sit up. Therfore APC will be trying to perform to please the people, while PDP will be pressing to outshine APC with thier own performance. With both ready to expose any form of corruption that might affect there political plans. |

crisycent: U knew December 25th is Christmas, why wait until 24th to withdraw money? People no dey get sense? Not everyone has money in their account. I repeat most government workers are just being paid today, hence the rush. You can then imagine how many people who had to send money to their dependants so they can have something to eat. It just shows how employers take the welfare of their staff here. Sane ones would have paid on 21 and 22. While others would have even paid 13th month salary. Ask any banker the volume of transactions today, in fact most ATMs are without cash and even CBN had to release large volume of cash to today. 2 Likes |
