So on what ground did the SE and SS vote? Finally tell me the ground that SW and North central did vote. It was clear the president was going to loose when he started fighting his God fathers and the governors. GEJ got votes in the North in 2011 due to the influence of OBJ in his campain and got sympaty votes from SW and Northcentral. I expected him to have gone the Mandela way. Which would have been more honourable since he begged for 4 years. In fact he would have been an hero in the likes of Abdusalami even if we knew there were cases of corruptions in his government.

On a serious note, GEJ had some very good policies such as the youwin, sureP, ferterlizer distribution, IPPIS, local content Policy and so on but the splitting of the governors forum and the relationship with OBJ cost him a lot. PDP will have still been in full control of Kano and there would have been no need of the fighting that ensued in Rivers should Ameachi still be in his camp. I think this is a great lesson for politicians. Its difficult to turn away from your helpers and succeed. We all saw what happened to Governor Lawal of Kwara state when he had issues with Saraki and Oyo State saga. Its quite painful but we lost a suppossed to be great leader, who i am sure acted on the advice of some people who are not talking now.

Nigeria's biggest problem is illiteracy. When northerners vote for a candidate just because he is a fellow muslim, hw do u expect us to prosper. Nigeria still has a long way to go.
PoliticsRe: Election 2015: Live Election Update - PUNCH by Hearme(m): 10:03pm On Mar 29, 2015
A lot of people do make this mistake, Niger state is North west alongside sokoto, zamfara, Kebbi, katsina, Kano and Kaduna. While north central includes Kwara, Kogi, Benue, Nassarawa, Plateau and Taraba. North East has Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi and Jigawa state.

PassingShot:
The earlier you accept that PDP cannot fairly win this contest, the better for you.

APC only need to win SW by about 60%. In the NC, APC is clearing Niger, Kwara, Kogi with a possibility of Benue too. The only state PDP may win is Plateau in NC.

Whatever you bring from SS/SE can never match what GMB will record in NE/NW. Even if you get 25% across the board there, it will not save you because b4 you realize it, GMB has won in 22 states and secure additional 25% in Ekiti, Edo, Imo, Plateau, Benue and so on.
PoliticsRe: Election 2015: Live Election Update - PUNCH by Hearme(m): 9:07pm On Mar 29, 2015
He divided his own house by himself. The PDP Board of Trustees, The PDP National Secretary (Oyinlola), the Governors forum, the non returning ticket of most PDP legislators, His wife overinvolvement in political and government matters and other administrative stuffs that made him and the PDP loose grip of been the ruling party. I wont be surprise if he lost the election

I so much commend GEJ's govt for accountability in elections.

Those who buy fuel for 65 naira now buy at 87naira despite the fall in fuel price from 120dollar per barrel to 54 dollar barrel per. NOTE

Dangotes loss is unimaginable. His support for Jonathan is because he knows he might not get the kind of favour from GEJs govt from that of GMB

What can we say about increases in Tarrifs from power holding with no power supply. I had power last in my home 7days ago.

New number plates, drivers license and several means they have collected from the masses without giving them the infrastructure they deserve.

A change in political party is due now. ENOUGH OF SELFISHNESS. LETS MAKE NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC

Think about it for a second. Does our crop of military men have any trained snipers along them? I have never heard of it. It will be very useful in rebuilding confidence in the Nigerian army, defeating terrorism and maybe eliminating some useless politicians... I'm not totally opposed to the last option.
There are sniper courses in Jaji.

ELECTION THINGS. GEJs weekest point used by the opposition is security, corruption and poor decision making. That was why the report of NNPC was to be made public in 3 days and now the need for the military to show there progress on the battle field following the arrival of weapons imported. On a soft ground for the military it might be a strategy to show to the world some of there operations for cases that might arise from the ICC.

other ministries.

We still have Health workers strike on and Judiciary workers are also on strike. My opinion; his tenure produced more strike than others.

with the new year around. lots of churches seem to be holding fasting programme. raging from 7 days to as much as 100 days fasting. a question that was put to me by a newly wedded woman is this:

"What scriptures teach that fasting and/or refraining from sex during a fast, and/or denying oneself lovemaking to your spouse? I am a newlywed and my husband told me that when a person fasts he/she cannot have sexual relationships. You must deny your flesh of all pleasures. Is it true? What scriptures back this up?"

thus my question to the house

it is proper to have sex during fasting period?
or
what level of intimacy is ok?
or
how should one behave is is total abstannace eg for those doing 100 days?

note this is very seroius. so your contribution is vital

thanks

PoliticsRe: Police To Invite The Speaker Over The Thursday's National Assembly Crisis by Hearme(m): 9:36am On Nov 22, 2014
Nigerians were embarrassed and no body is talking. I think it is time that those who call themselves NLC, TUC, Student unions, Nigerians in Diaspora and other CIVIL SOCIETY Groups should arise and mobilize for a great protest against the abuse of office by the executive arm of government to protect our democracy. The same stupid act has been repeated in Rivers, Edo, Ekiti, Adamawa, Nassarawa, Taraba and now the Federal House of Representatives. The move is now going beyond the abuse of the legislature to physically assaulting the judiciary as was carried out in Ekiti. If we as a people refuse to call our politicians to order, they will ruin this country. I begin to even wonder if the Military should be called an Arm of government in African Countries to check the recklessness of the politicians. These acts alone are capable of generating more crises adding to the Boko Haram issue that is not yet solved.

How come we have a government who cant settle labor issues in the Health sector, Educational Sector and issues relating to pensioners but are quick to settle political differences with use of security personnel or the use of thugs.

Whatever happened, the two local goverment still under intense fire would not have voted and this might create serious trouble. The deputy governor by my own thinking deserves the post. I see greed on the part of the speaker and his members when they asked him to resign. DP GOVS ARE TO TENDER RESIGNATION TO THE GOVERNOR AND NOT THE HOUSE. I commend the judiciary on this.

Skills related to entertainment sell well. E.g. Keshi takes 5million per month while a profesor takes about 500k per month. D-banj and co earn more, Messi , Ronaldo, Hazard, Rooney, Tiger wood and even our JJ Okocha who returned to write a GCE did earn more.

It all depends on the interest of the people and the sponsors. People like music more and thats why D-banj and others are ambassadors of Glo but no academician. Most glo staff doing the brain work dont even earn what the ambassadors earn.

THE TRUTH IS THAT THERE ARE SO MANY MUSICIANS WHO DONT GET TO THE TOP, SO MANY FOOTBALLERS WHO MAY NEVER GO BEYOND DIVISION 2. Its a world of competition. Pray for light so your skill can sell like that of facebook owner, Bill gate, nairaland owner Seun Osewa and others.

HealthRe: NMA Dares Jonathan - Asks Resident Doctors To Reject Sack Letters by Hearme(m): 10:04pm On Aug 15, 2014
Why won't doctors fight. A house officer who graduated from Medicine earns around 180k montly if you add hazard allowance of 100k montly, the house officer will now take 275k. That is minus the 5k hazard they earn now. That is on hazard alone, CONMESS and other stuff they are fighting for is excluded.

275k is the salary of a Senior lecturer in the university. I'm also sure that is the equivalent for most level 13 officers in the civil service. For God sake MBBS is an honors degree (undergraduate). I can bet that the government will only invite more trouble to itself by foolishly acceding to the financial demands of the doctors. Hazard allowance of 1.2 million per annum is totally not fair on other employees of government. The police and Soldiers whose life is at stake at all time will also need that amount.

lastly if our leaders are not wasteful and accruing to them selves bogus allowances, the union struggles would be reduced. There is nothing that says a senator in Abuja should not take 450k around what perm secs and top civil servants earn. If you say it is not a reality, how does a professor in Abuja survive and a Senator fills he or she can't survive. This is the exact cause of our problems. If we have some form of close equality in income, then people can understand and agree that the country is poor. But as long as senators continue to earn tens of million monthly, there is bound to be more labour crises.

It reminds me of the days of free night calls, I guess the population of people who do free night calls has drastically reduced due to chatting on social media. jpphilips: [color=#000099]There is no doubt you may be a guru in Biochemistry or physio, but Imagine where the doctor has to be a guru in your field and other fields you may not have heard of?
so tell me honestly, who deserves to own the patient on merit? you "one way guru" or the doctor who happens to be an "all round g

The day a physiotherapist heads a hospital and a Biochemist owns a patient that day will be my last in any Nigerian hospital running such insane structure.
St Gerald Hospital is run by an administrator. Its a big hospital in Kaduna in which many consultants and other health professionals do work. We only have a weak law here in Nigeria. That an issue has been legitimate for a thousand years does not make it right. We as individuals must embrace change. What I expect the NMA to do is not to begin to antagonize but as intellectuals think well to fight a good cause for their members. E.g Technologist in the universities fought for an upgrade of their Hazard allowance they got it, but a science lecturer who is involved in the practicals and research does not earn that hazard allowance because his union did not fight for that thus all lectures irrespective of the position earn 4K as hazard per annum which is equivalent to about 333.33 naira montly. NMA should think deep and act like the senior union rather than arguing and quarrelling. Remember ASUU fought during the strike but what was released was for all unions even though it was only the salaries of ASUU members that were stopped.

MOBBDEEP: See yourself !!!
What makes you think he's not right after all?
PhD is purely an academic training lasting 4-5yrs with research & thesis submission.
Postgraduate Medical Training lasts 6-10yrs with combined academic & clinical training rounded off with a robust research experience & thesis.
A resident physician is more likely to fail his/her exams.
By the way, the foundation sets them apart since a doc spends > 6yrs in schl while the PhD scholar spends at most 5yrs in respect to the 1st degree!
Do you still think he's outright wrong saying that ?
Your Fellowship is equivalent to a diploma in Nigeria. It's not a university program and you can also check in developed countries the difference between the two. As I have said earlier, he will continue to reap his seed of discord, and that will hunt him for a life time except he calls his men to order.

It is demonic for you to seek progress but don't want others to progress. Obasanjo is a man that fits you chaps. By now another parasitologist or pharmacist would have become minister of health. SURGEON GENERAL KOR DR GENERAL NI. Even the non-surgical related consultantancy fields amongs you are opposed to it.

I have nothing against any profession using any title as deem fit. Totally nothing. What I have against is that poster saying that doctors prevent other health professionals from using the title "doctor".

This is not true. We have Doctor of Optometry and Doctor Of Pharmacy.

How has doctors prevented optometrists and pharmacists from using the title "doctor"?
So why don't you want the word consultant in optometry or other fields in pharmacy, physiotherapy and others. Why do your leaders try to sideline virologist, parasitologist and other very relevant professions in the medical field.
