Regarding your questions, here are some answers.

1. Yes, God was really happy about the Temple.

2. During Solomon's era, it was said that riches abound in Israel, and gold was like the sand of the seashore. Israelites were extremely wealthy as at the time.

3. Refer to Answer 2 ^

4. Because the Israelites were extremely wealthy at the time, they were blessed by God exceedingly, that being taxed for the temple building is just a minuscule thing.

5. Still refer to Answer 2 above ^

6. It was just the one and only temple being built in Israel at the time, and it was just a place the Israelites could come to worship God, compared to Nigeria which has countless temples all around the corner, still yet the economy of the temple is dwindling.

7. No one is perfect, and there'll still continue to be imperfect people till this day.

8. Even the Bible states that none of is perfect, No! not even one.

9.Our body is where God's temple really is, if we can't build up our fellow humans, we have really failed, why do you think the greatest commandment ever is love your neighbour as yourself. I wouldn't know the mind of God to know what it's going on there, but I feel he won't be happy with the way people are being exploited in his name, we're being sold salvation on a daily basis.
Great contribution. However it is arguable that Nigeria today has far more mineral wealth than the Isrealites but pure mismanagement brought us to where we are. This is why we must hold our govt accountable on all levels to acheive the desired results that we desire.

And of course there were very poor people in Isreal. There is no need to argue about that.

Of course we are to build the body and not structures but you don't expect enenche to lay members on the sea shoreline. The cathedral he built realistcally cannot contain his members. Branching out will also cost more so what do you expect him to do.

Next time you guys should hold sai baba, obj, gej, ibb, tinubu for the state of the nation and leave adeboye et al out of this.

So are you saying the church cant dont have the funds to do the things you enumerated and appreciate they should do?

What it takes to buy and maintain private jets cant it do some of the things you mentioned? What happened to church contribution only good for building auditoriums? Will members not volunteers to put in service to humanitarian efforts without pay? US sure sponsored missionaries but that was mainly to make what missionaries were doing bigger not to kick start it as missionaries where using church contributions to forward their humanitarian effort anyway. Also apostles didnt wait for government before they shared church contributions to the poor and made that a culture so government is not a good excuse look for another or.......
Lol we both agreed that the church does help so why has ur govt refused to make it bigger.

How has ur govt made Christ against drug abuse ministry bigger?
What has govt done to better all the free schools oyedepo renovated in kwara?
What has govt done to better the homes of elderly built by ibeoymie?
What has govt done to expand rural rugged services by nccf volunteers etc?
What has govt done to improve olukoyas research center in unilag?

Only 0.001% of pastors own jets so that point is irrelevant.

Really the schools they built is reducing educational tourism?! Why are you lying and deceptive like your fathers? Even on Nairaland a quick stroll to the travel section will prove you wrong.

Couple of months ago there was a thread on this same Nairaland that even disputes this.
Do you know he highest jamb scorer last year or two years ago?! No! Why? Because no body gives a flying Bleep. Before winners secondary school came into existence people have been scoring high in JAMB so that's NOT an achievement.

Why can't they build hospitals and reduce medical tourism?

Nigeria today is bigger than Israel?! Back this up with facts please. Nobody is saying don't build church heck my street alone has over 6 churches. why the competition to build mega churches? How come mega churches is the new vision from the "holy spirit"? Yesterday it was private jet, school now mega churches.

Why don't this men have different visions? How come they go for the profitable "visions". How are they solving the housing deficit when their houses are not affordable? You can only say they're solving the housing deficit if NO member of their church is homeless not when a members that can afford a house in lekki but decides to buy a house in the church camp instead.

With modern technology nobody has to spend days on the road going to church, you can watch it on TV, YouTube or via other channels.

They aren't building mega churches because they want to save your soul rather because they want to take your money.
Its amazing that the greatest advocates on Church doing it "right" are Militant atheist. Go back and reread the entire thread and you would see all your answers. And if you are not satisfied , during the next elections run for office and effect all the changes in ur country and stop making ridiculous comments.

If they want my money is it ur businesshuh Did you put the money in my pockethuh Or did i complain to youhuh So don't defend me or any other church worshipper and face ur govt.

This is all good. Is it enough compared to what they can actually do and the problems abounding which you even enumerated? Is it even anything compared to those even as you yourself listed? When was the ikeja bomb blast how much % of that compared to what winners get every other month? Are they appreciating the call to do more in that area so we know somewhere along the line they will focus there as needed or cursing those who make the call?

Missionaries didnt have to announce theur humanitarrian deeds because we see them everywhere donkey years later as they are too many. Even doing half of the things you enumerated will not need to be announced before people will notice, commend and emulate thereby improving the society with the avalanche effect.
Mission activities where in times past sponsored by various govts. Until the 1950s the US govt was sponsoring missionary activities. Many of the schools and hospitals built by missions where funded by govt. Which Nigerian govt is willing to support the church?

Which govt has said to Nigerian churches, build Covenant uni and let us supply you with lecturers so it can be free?

Which govt has said to churches build and equip the hospitals we would supply you with doctors?

The churches have to build from scratch, equip, employ and then you expect it to be free. How do you expect them to sustain recurrent expenditure.

Building only Cathedrals without equal or even more focus on those weightier matters you youself pointed out is wrong. Remember what Jesus told the rich man who talked good on how he gives to the church....."sell all you have, give it to the poor"........can any of the pastors do what Jesus said ...."sell all and give to the poor" or can they do what the apostles did.....share contributions to the poor....until then their big cathedrals are, you know............
The following 3 things happened and you didn't know about it.

* Winners give 500 million naira to widows.
* Winners gave largest consignment to Ikeja bomb blast victims
*RCCG gives 200 million naira to build cadam in epe.
*Winners loans Liberian govt $500,000
The church has no website to publish any givings and that is ok. Every year the living faith church budgets billions for the poor. Oyedepo funds 15 NGOs in Nigeria, all accident victims in omuaran are given free treatment etc. but there is no need for unnecessary publications.

"The missionaries of Old had Strategy the Churches of today lack it badly. Only the gospel of Christ can change Nigeria for better. Until we turn Boko fighters to jesus, then feed, educate and clothe the Almajiri and turn back south to reset all the malfunctioning Christians we have done nothing.

Can we the Church build world class IDPs in safe places in the North East, welcome the Muslim and Christian women - feed, clothe and educate their children and watch as loyalties shift from mohammed to Jesus. And more importantly they will shift their children's loyalty.

The Missionaries didn't succeed in Christian izing half the nation because they had better preachers than we have, but they succeeded because they treated ppl better than the indigenous gods. People weighed it, "A God that provides Education, Healthcare and claims to love me to a god that wants human blood and collects my tubers of Yam every season". Sure enough the illiterate idol worshippers abandoned their burdensome gods and followed Jesus.

The Church must begin to think and act strategically"
Yes i said this and i stand by it. Building needed cathedrals isn't wrong either. We just need to be more strategic...

[s]You are on point Mr OP.

Who needs a factory when there is a big church to pray for God's favor?

Who needs a good and standard hospital when a big church can perform miracles and heal and cure our sickness?

And why should we build our country individually when we can build big church as our own mode of development. Big churches beautifies the environment of course.

Who needs to open a big business when you can just open a big church and earn in several currencies? This atheist are too dumb to realize that our church is the business of our God and it yields its dividends.

Who needs security when it is the sole responsibility of the government. We don't need to ensure our security but blame the government when the terrorists knocks on our doors?

May God bless the big shops sorry churches of our pastors and make them flourish among the abject poverty of their sheep. And we shall by the grace of our God always contribute towards the good work of God even though all we can achieve is a mighty house in heaven.

May these fooli*h atheist perish in the everlasting fire our father is providing for them. Amen.

OP you're pure evil WOW!

How many temples was built during the during the time of Solomon? Solomon built ONE(1) temple for all of Israel, so this men of god that claim to be directed by the "holy spirit" why can't they build one temple like Solomon since you want to make that comparison.

Why do "Oyedopo's sons" need different mega structures if they're really inspired by god and not
greed?!

Oyedopo built his, eneche followed and David's own shrine is under construction. Why's it that they're all following the same template?
1) build church
2) build expensive school
3) build a city
4) rinse and repeat
If this doesn't tell you no God sent this men I don't know what will, but you're blinded by greed and ignorance and you feel "oh if I keep supporting them one day I will get mine"
Yes they built schools which today is reducing education tourism. Winners secondary school produced the highest jamb scorer Isreal gala(364)

Yes they build cities to reduce the 17 million housing deficit in Nigeria and to give members befitting residence which the govt has failed to provide.

On questions regarding the number of Churches. Nigeria today is several times bigger than the Isreal of Old, therefore we need multiple worship centres na. I can't travel to glory dome, Abuja from Lagos just to worship. Unlike the Isrealites they spend days if not weeks to reach the temple.

you don't just make assumptions based on past events. What if you're wrong? What if all what God really wanted was for us to love and help one another?
Because we say God is the same Today, Yesterday and Forever. Therefore precedence is very important in deciphering who God is. The old testament is very complex to understand by mere human understanding because unlike the biblical new testament that was written over 1 or 2 generations it(OT) was written over thousands of years.
But two things are clear all through scriptures
1) God loves people even before Jesus died for man's sins.
2) God also loves worship

He would rather the two be done simultaneously rather than one exclusively.
If you give all your belongings to the poor, a kidney for the sick and reject Jesus you are going to hell fire. This is why when God saw the good and humanity of cornelius he couldn't think of any thing to give him than to give him salvation. Many of humanity's greatest philanthropist have been courted by Jesus but they have refused him in arrogance and pride and unfortunately they would pay for it. They would see worse men make it to heaven before they do. Therefore it would be risky to do one without the other.

When i take my last breath i want to know i served the poor, i built great cathedrals, sponsored mission trips and above all my name is in the book of life.

How are you sure he is happy?
Well He was happy when the Temple was built. So by that assumption he is probably happy about glory dome, faith tabernacle, potters house and the likes.

God is not a fool, he knows man and His treacherous soul more than anyone ever. He sees how they build multi billion stadiums across the world and spend their lifetime chanting and hailing football stars but remember industries and poor people when same is done for him.

The truth is God built an entire human race for self glory, an entire league of Angels was adorned to praise Him. Whether you like it or not that is who He his. Our ambitions, economy, vision is expected to be secondary to our Worship of Him.

My life philosophy is this Nothing must be built that has never been built for God God doesn't mind his worshippers raising praises for him at Wembley stadium or O2Arena.

A truth that transcends scripture is this, whenever something good is done in God's name he seems to appreciate and accept it despite the political incorrectness. The expensive perfume used on Jesus is another example.

2) Did Poor People Matter To God During Solomon's Era Or Was God Merely Concerned About Temples?

3) Where There Poor People In Isreal When Solomon Built The Temple?

4) Why Didn't God Complain When Taxes Collected MANDATORILY From The Rich And Poor Was Used In Constructing The Temple Which Would Cost Billions Of Naira In Today's Economy?

5) Why Did God Not Tell Solomon To Use The Temple's Budget To Feed The Poor?

6) If God Despite The Existence Of Poor People Felt Honored And Excited About The Temple Built In His Honor, How Are You Sure He Isn't Happy About The Cathedrals Also Being Built In His Honour Today?

7) Where The Worshippers In The Solomon's Temple Perfect People?

This is not good. It is bad for a developing nation when the rich marries the rich. Let a rich man marry a poor woman so he can lift her out of poverty.

Let a poor man marry a rich woman so she can lift him out of poverty. Not everyone must get rich through hard work some must get rich through marital affiliations. As your future president i would create programs that deliberately allows the rich to meet the poor to ensure an even spread of wealth. grin

Only the middleclass is permitted to marry the middle class.
Education › What Tinubu Of LAUTECH Can Learn From Alakija Of UNIOSUN by HigherEd(op):
I have studied the impact of Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija on the fate of UNIOSUN and i can only commend her for the great work she has done and is still doing in UNIOSUN.

From the construction of a dual road leading to Uniosun to the establishment of a 250 bed teaching hospital. Any time she's called upon she responds with donations. In fact it is safe to say that it would have been practically impossible for UNIOSUN to restart her medical program without her generous donation as Osun state is perpetually broke.

Also we have seen non alumni high networth individuals give generously to universities. Exampls are Oyakhilome's 1 billion grant to Benson Idahosa university, Dangote's 1.3 billion grant to Bayero and 250 million grant to University of Ibadan, Otedola's endowment of Coll. Of Engnr at Augustine University Lagos. Therefore Universities must begin to affiliate themselves with wealthy individuals who have philanthropic tendencies - this as Nigeria FG govt and states are waning in their support for universities

On the other hand i have noticed the apathy Bola Ahmed Tinubu has towards Lautech. He has been of little relevance to Lautech in both finance and conflict resolution. It is time Lautech looks for it's own generous Alakija. Particularly since the owner states have abondoned their financial responsibilities.

Lastly Enenche didn't build the dome out of competition. These churches are not competing. If they were competing do you think Oyedepo whose cathedral was surpassed twice over would have gone there rejoicing and dedicating the church.

The dome was built out of necessity, their services were already spilling to six and becoming uncomfortable. Now with this structure they can hold there services twice and everyone calls it a day.

Winners has no sunday branch in lagos, they now have 400,000 worshippers coming from different parts of lagos to a 50,000 cathedral.- they have two options, spread into lagos establishing branches or build a bigger structure... I know if they spread you folks will complain so let these churches be in peace.
Christianity Etc › Re: John Chau's Death And Paul Enenche's Dome By Deji Yesufu by HigherEd:
Lol the same very movement that birthed Chau birthed Enenche.
Nigerian pentecostalism is an importation from Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Kathryn Kuhlman and T. Osborne. So we are happy that the produce of the generals are doing exploits.

Now the fact that the pope of the catholic church reside in a beautiful estate in the vatican city doesn't mean there aren't catholic missionaries putting themselves at great risks across the world to establish the message of Christ. That Archbishop Canterbury of England sits in England overseeing the church affairs doesn't mean there are no Anglican missionaries soiling their hands in Nepal or bangladesh.

In the operations of the church locationing is very important. Peter stayed in Jerusalem, Paul went all over Gentile nations - their callings were different.

What Deji wrote is a divide and rule tactic. Did you forget about the Abuja RCCG missionary woman who was killed in cold blood. Was she not inspired by RCCG'.

Christianity is a global army, some would stay home to fortify while others would venture out for new territories. There are countless RCCG, Winners missionaries in Liberia, Cameroon - some have suffered untold hardships.

I have been on brief mission trips and i can tell you it is an EXTREME SPORT. From spiritual darts being fired in one's direction even before you enter their villages to physical confrontations. For Christians reading this don't let some one push you to untimely death by going on spiritually unsanctioned trips. Even the apostles of the early church ran away from some places when the heat got much.

Whatever you do, do it with the consultation of the Holy Spirit.
