My only issue with your assertion is where money becomes the modus operandi for setting a bench mark, such system isn't sustainable. Rather intellectual prowess should be the basis. Reducing admission slot automatically decreases admission rate and increases yeald rate for the prospective students, this can only weed out the unsererios from both the rich and poor background making it fair enough policy for academic success to strive.This is what happens in the Nordic countries where cost of education is the least in the Northern hemisphere.

So? Most secondary s school students pay more than 100k yearly as school fees. University fees in Nigeria should be increased to 1m. So that we will have fewer graduates and they will get jobs. Others should go to technical school for courses like automobile coupling, skyscraper construction, elevator repair etc.

What you are saying is that all low income eaners who have smart kids that can go places with University education should go and die?
Why not maintain the status quo for fees since its subsidized only in government schools and then a quota for higher education entry should be placed in order to admit only top notch students instead if disqualifying these top students because they have no funds. Naturally those who don't meet up while consider other facets of learning as you enumerated until we are able to plan for our citizens as a country.

Lol, truely it's one one the cheapest universities in the world when you look at the dollar face value. I agree with you in terms of increasing more funding and improving the quality of education in the country. Unfortunately, a large chunk of people attending these instructions live below the poverty line and have to go through a lot to break even with regards to footing the bills for their programmes. Rivers government should continue to invest heavily in subsidizing education for it's citizens, that's the way to go.
