In my own opinion, I feel it is the full responsibilities of every man, to foot every bills in your home, you claim to be the head and as the head you should always be responsible and not shy away from your responsibilities..
It is only broke men that fight their wives to share mans responsibilities, if you are not capable to take up your sole responsibility, please remain single..
You can't see Dangote or Femi Otedola splitting bills at home with their wife..
Your woman can only support you at her own will without being told to do so....

Mylordmygod1: GOOD DAY NIRALANDERS
I wanted to start up a POS business with my savings of N65k, but the POS man that i consulted to assist me said i would need at least N150k to start up a POS business.
I've really been hustling everyday, doing hard works (especially on bulding sites), taking pain killer drugs on daily basis..
I don't think it will be easy for me to raised my savings up to that amount 'N150k' with the type of work that i do..
I wanted to travel to the city with my ND (National Diploma) result, so i can use it to look for work, I posted it here on nairaland, but 80% of the advice i got from this forum said it will be hard to see a paying job with ND result, while some said it is not even possible. So i couldn't travel again..
Now that my savings isn't enough to start up a POS business, i'm thinking of starting up a standard akara and akamu business and probably extend the business along the run..
As someone known by his people to have went to school, is the business worth the shame? / You are exhibiting the qualities of someone who has poverty embedded in his DNA. / |
Politics › Re: Anambra Election, Dr Maduka And Many Cases Of Political Hypocrisy Of The Igbos by InvertedHammer: 1:39pm On Nov 08, 2021*. Modified: 2:50pm On Nov 08, 2021 |
contigiency: [s] Igbos pride themselves as the most educated, enlightened and exposed ethnic nationality in Nigeria. They do not hide their notion that other regions especially the Hausa/fulanis are backward in terms of their thinking and their socio political engagement.
The last weekend gubanatorial election in Anambra State has, as in the past, exposed the Igbos as rather direct opposite of the qualities they attribute to themselves, especially judging by their political maturity.
The Fulanis have on the other hand, shown that when looking for a leader of their choice, political party platform is immaterial when compared with the quality they are looking for. This they have exhibited on several occasions. The case of president buhari is still fresh how the Fulanis have on several occasions voted him in their millions irrespective of the political platform. The height of the point is when buhari formed CPC within 7 months to a general election, and still went ahead to ganner above 12 million votes in a general election. This proves that they vote individuals and not a political party.
The above scenario cannot be said about the Igbos because, on several occasions, they have chosen to prefer and voted for political party rather than the quality of the individual. It is still fresh in the memories how on two occasions, the Igbos ignored and abandoned the almighty Ojukwu to his fate on the two different occasions he contested for the presidency of Nigeria. It was so bad that he came a distant second in his state of Anambra. The same measure he was given in the entire Igbo states, because they choose PDP as a party not the quality of the party flag bearer.
Other few examples include when buhari ran on joint tickets with two different prominent Igbos in the persons of the late Dr Chuba Okadigbo and Edwin Umezuoke in 2003 and 2007 respectively. On those two occasions, the Igbos also chose PDP and abandoned these their brothers to their fates. Of recent, Kingsley Muoghalu and Obi Ezekwesili, contested, none was able to win a single political ward not even their own.
Coming to the just concluded Anambra State, the fact that Dr Maduka got a mere 1,793 votes, highlights, the point this article is talking about. What it means is that, even Dr Maduka's kinsmen chose to vote APGA and not the man who has single handedly, transformed their community. A man who has given numerous scholarships and empowerment to numerous households in his community and beyond. I stand to be corrected, the candidate of APGA Soludo has no record of reaching out to the needs of others, not even when he was the governor of Centeral bank. That shows that the choice of Dr Maduka's kinsmen was primarily for a political party and not the individual who has been their benefactor on several measures.
No doubt Soludo is a good candidate, but I am sure that Dr Maduka's kinsmen would have preferred to vote for him in preference to their own son should both of them swap political party platform in the election. [/s] / The best companies in the world still maintain good Marketing departments. The candidate you prefer had all the opportunities to market himself and he performed abysmally. Instead of assembling a top-notch campaign team, he chose a beauty pageant hustler to manage his campaign to the point that they turned the campaign to empty awards bazaar. If he could be so easily hustled, how sure are we that Anambra state funds under him will be safe? Every Anambra man cannot drive down to his community to witness what he did. The fact that what he did in his village is the central point of his campaign is a proof that he has little or no grasp of what Public Administration means. State government is not a private enterprise. If philanthropy is the perfect measure of quality leadership, Rochas Okorocha would have been an icon. It is difficult to make rational decision bordering on politics when you keep viewing the exercise through the prism of poverty. / |

Politics › Re: Lessons To Learn From Godwin Maduka's Performance At The Polls by InvertedHammer: 3:47am On Nov 07, 2021 |
/ Dr. Maduka did a lot of things wrong:
1. He does not seem to understand the immediate needs of Anambra people. He was talking about 21 Campuses, police stations, etc.
2. He resorted to distributing fuel to Keke and Okada riders. Our people are only loyal to the point where the freebies stop.
3. He keeps harping on his philanthropy. Ifeanyi Uba, Obiora Okonkwor and many Anambra wealthy folks are philanthropists. It is nothing new neither will it get you elected. He thought he was campaigning to beggars. He misinterpreted pecuniary interests for love. The people chanting "Okosisi" are hoping to go home with something. There is no love in that equation.
4. His personality is fully separated from his stellar credentials. People thought he would be a breathe of fresh air. But the triple professor(think of how absurd that sounds to the common sense) acted and sounded more like a roadside mechanic. A triple professor who has lived in US for more than 40 years should be able to articulate his plans to the people. It was sad watching Ozigbo and Soludo have him for lunch. When you listen to his speech, one cannot help but wonder the quality of US educational system.
5. He surrounded himself with poor people who would never tell him the truth. They kept massaging his ego for pieces of the pie. Most people in his political entourage look like beggars--no party heavyweights around unless he pays for them. Pathetic!
6. Igbo people are very emotional. He failed to tap into that emotion. He tactfully avoided statements on Nnamdi Kanu, Fulani herdsmen, and other issues that are of immediate concern to Igbo people. He appeared more clueless than ever. It is understandable since he has been getting closer to the Central government by building Police college, Police Station, SARS units, etc. So there is this internal fight for loyalty to his conscience, Igbo people or FG.
7. Money is like a loaded gun. If not used correctly, it can be dangerous to the bearer. He just learned the hard way.

Spark2: Hello NL. I'm going to keep this brief.
It started three weeks ago. my mum, who was walking normal with no problem suddenly could not walk. Her left leg began paining her severely that day. My mum was all in tears... She was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that her sugar level was on the high side. The hospital gave drugs which stabilised it, at that point my mum was very weak, couldn't eat, each time she eat she throws up and also had some pain in the leg still. After a week in the hospital, we were then referred to a teaching hospital after a test showed that creatinine in her kidney was high.
The teaching hospital tried their best and I can say my mum is now okay. Except for the left leg. She can't still walk on it, the leg feels cold to touch with a little discolouration above the foot.
Doppler test showed that blood isn't really flowing through the leg. And they said they will need to amputate the leg to prevent the infection from growing to the other parts of the body.
Please I want to know if you know anyone who had similar condition and amputation was recommended but was later healed without need for amputation.
Please share your recommendations. I need my mum now more than before in my life. We are confused on whether to allow them to go on with the amputation or seek other alternatives.

GAZZUZZ: The title might seem unpatriotic, but not entirely so.
Quick story
In 2018 I sold an SUV to a friend at 3.5m, he paid 2m and said he would balance up in the future.
Fast forward to 2021 October he pays me ₦1m with a pending balance of ₦500,000.
Vehicle sold in 2018 is now ₦5.3m in 2021.
Lesson learnt.
Going forward all transactions that have to do with pending payments will be signed as dollar equivalents .
Meaning if you want to take a loan or owe me large sums of money E.g ₦1m (sept 2021 2,433.5799 US Dollars) all we will do is check current dollar rate and peg repayment on the dollar equivalent in the future (2,433.5799 US Dollars)
The end

ImpactBooks: Hello NLds!
I have been a family member of this group to years and what I have found most interesting about this forum is it's educative and/or enlightenment opportunity it offers.
Yesterday, a thread was opened which discussed the way and manner Immigrants are being extorted, most especially, at the Lagos and Abuja International Airports. One cogent thing that I learnt about the thread is that the first-time travellers are more evenurable to the Airport Officials illegal activities even though some argued that giving anything to these officials is by choice ESPECIALLY WHERE IMMIGRANTS TRAVELING DOCUMENTS ARE VALID AND COMPLETE.
This is where I need your guidance.
I will be travelling out of the country for the very first time by next month. Therefore, I need guidance on two things:
1. For someone that is travelling on invitation base on medical ground, what are the valid travelling documents that the person needs to have to make it COMPLETE? This information is needed in ensuring that my travelling agents did a thorough job regarding my travelling papers.
2. I have taken my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and my second dose is scheduled for 19th of this month. Once these doses are taken, do I still need to take another vaccine before my departure again or I only need to do another COVID-19 test? If it is the latter, between what Internal/period do I need to do the test, where and at what cost?
Thanks as I await your guidance.
Blessings / You need a negative Covid-19 PCR test result taken within 72hrs from the time of departure. They don't care about your vaccination status in Nigeria. How can someone advise you when you don't state your destination? Each country has different rules. Keep N20k available for the Nigerian side.
