Family › Re: Her Parents Sponsored Our Wedding, Should I Be Worried. by InvertedHammer: 5:23pm On Nov 14, 2021 |
Tonero5200: Hi.
Honestly speaking am really worried, have dated my fiance for sometime now. So we finally decided to tie the knot. She suggested we do it this year November and I concurred, so we've been saving towards it ever since.
Last 2 months I made my intentions known to her family, that I will like to marry their daughter. Due to the conversations I had With her parents, I told them I wanted it small.. because am not financialy buoyant.
But To my surprise, her dad said I shouldn't worry about it, they are going to support me ( which is most likely Normal)
(They gave me traditional rite's, which I sorted out by myself)
With the traditional right drawing close, last month I learnt from my fiancee..her parents are planning to buy 2 cow for the traditional and white wedding. (I was surprised)
The following week, the hall she choosed for the reception of the white wedding, has already been paid for by her dad which was about 500k excluding the decorations which they also took care of ( even though I opted we could have done the reception in the church)
But my fiancee told me her dad is inviting alot of well-wishers home and abroad to come celebrate with us.both his fellow staffs and all.
* I bought 2 bag of rice and groundnut oils
* We paid for the cakes
* We paid for drinks
* We sorted things out (invitation cards, pre shoot photos)
But was surprised 2 days to the traditional marriage, more expensive drinks were rolling in.
On the d day of the white wedding, I realised, they cooked more than 8 bags of rice ( coconut, jollof, banga and fried) meats were surplused. Alot of people came from her family's, while my own families were just there.. they did get the message.
Someone even said it to my mom face. THAT THIS GIRL PAPA TRY O.
please, I don't want to sound like am a bad person or I don't know good. Offcus I appreciate her parents efforts, but am just a little bit worried.
As a man, won't this come to haunt me in the future? / She get younger or elder sister? Asking for a friend. / |
Christianity Etc › Re: My New Pastor Goes To The Beer Parlour To Drink; Now We're Loosing Members Daily by InvertedHammer: 5:22pm On Nov 14, 2021 |
Mylordmygod1: Hello nairalanders.
I will not call the name of my church for some reasons, but my church is that type that dosn't have a parmanent pastor.
So, we always have a new pastor almost every four or five years.
Recently, a new pastor was transfered to us, this my new pastor is very good when it comes to preaching the word of God, and things that helps in the development of a church.. infact, so many good things have been going 'on' in my church since his arrival.
But the problem is that, he is that kind of pastor with swag, He goes to beer parlour to drink, he can go to gathering to play draft, (imaging the kind of people u see in a beer parlour of draft gathering), and because of this things he does, some people (expecially other churches) use it against us the members..
People we be like, una pastor wey dey drink beer.. And we don't even know how we can deffend him or ourself when we are being attacked by these people..
We are currently loosing members on a daily basis, and i'm not happy with it. / Don't blame the pastor. Una problem too much for one man. / |

It might not be a scam. Some people trade forex for a few months, have some good returns and then claim to be experts. With investors' funds, they become over-leveraged and get margin-called. It happens all the time.
Only those in the business will understand.

DSC7: I met this beautiful damsel around 2012,we got admission into same institution same year....
We dated from 2012-2016,,,,
During service we parted ways and met again 2018 but ended up becoming friends with benefits....
By 2019 distance(different states) kept us apart due to life plans.....
And we don't have each others contacts again
So i was chatting with my elder brother this morning and he told me about his fiancee, i asked for her picture... Lo and behold she was my ex and friend with benefits.....
Now there is no way she will know that we are related except on their wedding day coming up next year if i attend.....
I don't know whether to tell him or just let them be / In life.... I told you so == good friend I would have told you == bad friend. Call your brother aside and tell him. He is your brother. However, the problem I'm having with her is that when she's angry she tends to use foul languages and curses on me which I don't like. She end up apologizing after the ranting but I'm tired of going over this. Please how can I deal with this attitude of hers?

Health › Re: Do You Sleep Under An Insecticide-treated Mosquito Net? by InvertedHammer: 9:14pm On Nov 13, 2021 |
Omicron007: According to data from UNICEF, every two minutes, a child under five dies of malaria. Many of these deaths are preventable and treatable. In 2019, there were 229 million malaria cases globally that led to 409,000 deaths. Of these deaths, 67 per cent (274,000) were children under 5 years of age. This translates into a daily toll of nearly 750 children under age 5.
Malaria is an urgent public health priority. The disease and the costs of its treatment trap families in a cycle of illness, suffering and poverty. Today, nearly half of the world’s population, most of whom live in sub-Saharan Africa, are at risk for developing malaria and facing its economic challenges.
Sleeping under insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITNs) on a regular basis is one of the most effective ways to prevent malaria transmission and reduce malaria related deaths.
However, some people still find it difficult to sleep under Mosquito Nets. Some say it causes heat while others have different reasons.
Do you sleep under an insecticide-treated Mosquito Net? Let's hear from you. / Mosquito nets are for females, SIMPs and girlie-men. What's next? A man with an umbrella under the sun to avoid sunburn. / |

Omicron007: Fellows,
A quick one One of my friends celebrated her birthday recently. I was lost in thoughts over what to buy for her. So I surfed the internet and I saw a lot of suggestions.
I ended up getting a flower for her. I ordered the flower on an online flower shop and it was delivered to me.
On her birthday, I took the flower and went to her place. I presented it to her during the little birthday bash she organised.
To my utmost surprise, she and her friends looked at me with contempt. She was not happy I got the flower. It was glaring on her face.
I have seen a lot of movies where flowers are presented to girls and they are very happy.
Why is it that some Nigerian girls don't value the gift of flowers?
I spent NGN 7,500 to get the flower! / Imagine if you had given her N5k. You would have saved yourself some trouble. / |

Anambra state is not Nkerehi where he wanted to reign supreme. Final final the new Commissioner of Works will say that his much touted medical facility was built on a drainage channel and some bulldozers will show up.
To chase him back to US is as easy as ABC. He better thread carefully. He should talk to Dr. Kpaduwa of IMO State. He was chased out and vowed never to return to Nigeria again. So Dr Maduka is a small case. Who knows? Maybe Alex still sees some signs of residual cash that need to be obtained from the maga.

Dainy1: Honestly, I don't understand this. Is this an act of hypocriacy or what truth are they really hiding from us? They claimed marriage is not important, not for everyone, that you can stay single and be having children outside wedlock, so long as you can take care of them. Yet, they go about talking you down as soon as you're of age and have no wife/husband.
A girlfriend of mine in her late thirties just declared she's getting married and everyone is sharing her up, sending her congratulatory messages as if she has not been existing.

KosiGee: Orumba people didn’t abandon him. He is just a novice and a man that loves his ego massaged.
He got his ‘praises’ and I think that’s his reward. Except he has got some ulterior motives, he should congratulate Soludo and wait for his time.
Orumba and Aguata is one. It’s same people, tradition and way of life…Soludo is from Isuofia, not far from Nanka and Oko, neighbours with Victor Umeh’s Aguluzoigbo, Igboukwu and Ekwulobia. Chidozie of Wichteck is from Oko Uba Andy us from Uga, Maduka is Nkerehi or Umuchukwu…They are all brothers. It’d be hard not to vote a well known Soludo for someone like Maduka.
Uga, Ekwulobia, Oko people abandoned Uba and Chidozie Nwankwo for Soludo.
I would’ve voted Soludo if I was there. I’m sure everyone in my family would’ve voted him.
Btw lots of people are suspicious of Maduka. They see him as another Rochas Okorocha…and when you hear the name Rochas…people would pray or exclaim…Ozo emena. God forbid. / Known or unknown, he could have upset Soludo if he came prepared. Many people gave him the benefits of doubt including my humble self. But after listening to him talk and answer questions in interviews about the election, it dawned on many that he is as clueless as it can get. It is as if he descended from a different planet. When he started comparing Nkerehi with Dubai, claiming that he brought $500m investment in Anambra, promising to build 21 satellite campuses for a university that is barely functional and the worst, the inability to express and articulate his plans for ndi Anambra; a lot of people gave up on him. / |

Meanwhile, who come vote for Dr. Maduka??! / Dr. Maduka has learned that the appellation "Okosisi of Orumba" is just mere title used to massage his ego. Orumba people abandoned him when he needs them the most. Like the popular saying, "salutation is not love". Even those who publicly endorsed him for pittance failed to vote for him.
