Politics › Re: Dr. Maduka Distributes Free Fuel To Keke Operators In Awka by InvertedHammer: 10:03pm On Jul 05, 2020
AlexReports:
AWKA IN JOYOUS ATMOSPHERE, AS DR. GODWIN MADUKA KEKE-PALLI INITIATIVE HITS THE STATE CAPITAL.

By: Onwurah Chinonso Anthony (Equity Lawyer).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo-th6kb078

Today in Awka, it was litany of gratitude and encomium as Dr. Godwin Maduka foundation visited the state capital to continue with the Keke- palli initiative gifting liters of petrol to tricycle operators(Keke riders).

The program designed to reach out to the most vulnerable group in the society aims to cushion the hardship caused by corona virus.

Recall that for the past 4 months, world economy, including Nigeria has remained in shock and this has made life hard and tough for the vulnerable groups including tricycle operators.

Dr. Godwin Maduka who has been in the business of helping humanity, has been reaching out to our people whose means of livelihood are badly hit by this pandemic through his Foundation.

Recently, he distributed bags of rice to all the 182 communities in Anambra state, also reached out to widows by assisting them with funds to keep up.

Keke palli is a post lockdown program designed to directly touch the most vulnerable group in our society directly through their businesses. Apart from Keke operators, other businesses within that category will subsequently be captured, SMEs inclusive.

In response to the good gestures, the keke operators expressed profound happiness as they continued to thank Dr. Maduka and prayed God to bless him richly.

Stay Safe Umunnem!!!

Always maintain all the Covid-19 rules; regularly wash your hands with water and soap, wear your face masks, maintain social distancing etc.

Good move!

But it is sad seeing new entrants into politics playing the same old "stomach infrastructure" that we all hate to love.

There are people who live all their lives in Nigeria that distributed many items during election years and they lost out.

Dr. Maduka (if he is serious about the gubernatorial election) should distance himself from these charlatans and leeches
who are making it seem like "business as usual". He started on a good note from his town but the way he is going
with his campaign leaves much to be desired.

He should show people what he is bringing differently to the table instead of reducing himself to the same old gimmick that his
possible opponents have mastered. The impact of his philanthropism is not felt beyond his town in Orumba South L.G.A.
Anambra South senatorial district (if it is by rotation) is comprised of these L.G.As :Ihiala, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba South, Orumba North, Aguata and Ekwusigo. He has a very tough battle ahead of him. I don't think he will win the primary...not with the way he is going about it.

Romance › Re: My Girlfriend Asked Me To Tell My Mum To Remarry & I Have Lost Confidence In Her by InvertedHammer: 10:56pm On Jul 04, 2020
Mvici:
I Lost Confidence In My Girlfriend The Moment She Asked Me To Marry For My Mother.

I had a girlfriend some few months back before the covid 19 outbreak, that was after we went home from school due to the strike and the pandemic, we both are in the same school which is IBB university lapai, in our final.

So at home this faithful day, I put a call through! We both were talking, laughing on phone, so she ask about my mum, I said she was fine and she now ask abt her loneliness because no one at home, I told her but I'm still here with her, she ask what if school resume and what if we should go for our service next year, she now told me to marry another man for my mum.... lol... telling me who knows" that my mum might like the idea if I should table it with her. Gosh! I actually laughed about it then on phone with her but inside me, it wasn't funny at all.

The next day, what she told me was still bordering me, so many things were just running on my mind...so even if by mistake I wife her in future and the Lord decide to take me when we have a grown up child like me, who is planning on becoming a graduate this year and have even spent 30 years in marriage already....she won't even mourn me for long before accepting another man's proposal or bleeping with another man or probably her one time ex.

I decided to ask my mum with play, mum be sincere to me, you and my dad have been married since far back 1986... U both were in marriage for about 30 yrs before he past away few years ago, may his soul rest in peace..this is 5yrs now are you considering on marrying any one or having any kind of body movement or even can stand the presence of another man in your life?

Guess what her reply was....
Mum said my dad was the only man she know in her life and that's how it going to remain by God grace, period! and I shouldn't ask her such again with cry/smiles on her face because she has me and I will give her groundchil........

Seriously I don't know why I brought this here but pls tell me, any girl that can ask a 52 Year old woman to re_marry even after she has a child, isn't it clear that she can't stay without having sex to anyone as long as her husband is on a peace keeping mission or even travel abroad?

Thanks everyone.

Money laundering may be 20yrs. But is he being charged with money laundering alone? All the charges and final conviction will determine how many years he gets (not excluding other deals).

By the way, it comes down that if he is convicted, the "minimum" is 20 years i.e 20 years guaranteed under Federal sentencing guidelines. He'd better start accepting plea deals if offered.

2017-2020 (3yrs) enjoyment, 20 years imprisonment. In terms of R:R, he lost out. Hushpuppi is not a hacker as shown in the court documents. I never believed he is. He looks too dumb to be one. He provided the recipient accounts for coconspirator1 (a foreign national). That foreign national is a monster.

I will be shocked if he gets up to 10 years.

Useless threat.

Use the security agents as wedges at the checkpoints and the checkpoints will magically disappear. If they stand in your way, mow them down. When the casualties rise, they will do the needful. Nobody likes suicide missions.

In other words, when they block the roads, don't use your brakes. Simple.

Family › Re: I Was Chosen As King: Should I Damn The Consequence Or Forget About It Entirely? by InvertedHammer: 9:51pm On Jun 30, 2020
JONNYSPUTE:
....Good morning folks. Sure we are all good and managing the effects of pandemic well?. To God be the glory.

This is going to be long because I will want us to read and understand it very well before commenting. Reason is because any decision taken is going to affect both myself,my immediate family members, extended and the entire community.

I have been thinking about the way forward since December last year.

It happened that we lost our king (Eze) 5years ago and the community has been in turmoil due to the inability of the elders to select a new king.

Reason is that it is rotational between my village and the other village.

My village is now supposed to bring out the next king and my compound has been told to bring out somebody to be crowned as a king.

I never envisaged or dreamt of becoming a king in my life because.
(1) My father is still alive.
(2)I'm not the most senior in the entire family.

But then, the elders met me last December and told me that the diety in the community has selected me to become the next king and that I have to pick another wife from the community before I will be crowned.

I told them point and blank that the oracle is mistaken due to the reasons I mentioned above but they are not taking it.

Now everyone in my village is against me for refusing the offer and saying I'm doing it be cause I don't want to hurt my wife which is true.

Now my question is,What do I do?
Should I damn the consequence and pick another wife and be crowned a king in other to make my community happy or should I forget about the whole idea entirely and allow the community sort themselves out?

I'm confused here. N B. My wife is aware of all this.

Thanks.

Please bring this to front page cause I'm no longer myself. So many sleepless nights and selfish advices from the elders in my community. I really need to hear the truth from people I don't know.
/
Grab it with two hands.

Don't forget to do Thanksgiving to God for his lowly servant.

The tussle for a king has destroyed many communities leading to numerous violent and untimely deaths. But you were given on a platter of gold and you are complaining. Inside life.

When the Supreme court stole their mandate, all of them remained mute while some tried to rationalize the anomaly. People's voice trumps court rulings. The problem is that Nigerians do not know how to use anarchy to coerce oppressors to listen to voice of reasons.

Africa has many resources that they don't know. You hear about Chinese miners in different locales. You wonder why the dumb African brains couldn't figure it out. Yet they expect respect from the rest of the world because they are only interested in finished products.

Focusmind:
The current state of our nation. The current state of unemployment in this country is terrible. Every year, thousands are put into the unemployment market.

Let me shock you. In the place I stay, we have an aboki that we pay 25k every month, which is contributed by all the tenants. He washes cars in the compound by choice and for each car washed, he is paid N500. Everyday, he makes an average of 2 to 3 thousand depending on the cars he washes, which means in a month, he is making up to 80k. Remember, he lives in the security post with toilet and bath. A complete self con.

In March, at the outbreak of the pandemic, he said he would be travelling to his state, Katsina and he would bring someone to replace him in his job. One tenant said no, that he has his relation that is a graduate and is looking for a job. He called the guy and after introduction and telling him what the job entails, he accepted.

He is currently the security man in the building, opening gates and washing the cars. He said his life is far better now as at least he has roof over his head and sees up to 50k every month unlike when he was not doing any thing.

A graduate of chemistry!!. Though nothing wrong in that job after all, we all did it back then in UK. Accepting that job by graduate shows the current state of our nation.
/
There is money in Nigeria but most people are looking at the wrong places. A mason that works 3 days in a week (3×5x4 = N60k) earns better than most Nigerian graduates. Sectors that are supposed to be filled by graudates are full of artisans while graduates are busy on instagram, nairaland, snapchat, etc "forming" fine boys and slayqueens. They will never fail to remind everyone that they are graduates as if it is an end to a means.

If they are moving half the number of passengers on the same amount of fuel, common sense dictates that they increase fares to meet sundry expenses. Vehicles need fuel and regular maintenance. I wonder what the man still wanted at 70. Our politicians are super greedy. I laugh at the people who believe Nigeria is going to be better soon. grin

Every problem sang by Fela about 50 years ago is still there: Looting, paddy paddy government, killings, unemployment, NEPA, policemen, military, etc. If you read a copy of Nigerian newspaper in 1982, you will think you are reading yesterday's paper.

In 2020, Nigerians are still playing politics of tribe and religion instead of things that will better their collective interests. During election, people were entertaining themselves with if Atiku is a Nigerian or not; if it is Muslim:muslim or Muslim:christian ticket; if it is Hausa:Yoruba or Fulani:Igbo ticket. It is mostly shameful coming from the media or the so-called educated community.

After voting deadwood president who wasted 6months in foreign land on a sick bed, now everyone wants to turn around and be taken serious. It ain't gonna happen. Buhari still has 3 more years. NASS is a retirement home for old politicians so no succour from that end.

When this is over, there will be another election. I expect the same mistakes to be made again. More wailing and crying as time flies. Then our children will grow up to continue the same mistakes. Don't think that your parents in the 80s didn't believe that their children would have got it right by 2020. Here we are!
