No clean politician in Nigeria. Infact the society frowns at upright politicians.
The solution is to narrow the contestants to two known devils and choose the lesser of the two. The kind of patriotic leadership that well-informed Nigerians dream off does not exist in Nigeria. The sooner the people face the reality, the better. Expression of interest form alone is N45m. What sane business person will sacrifice that and more huge sum for campaign knowing that equity and fairness are not part of the game?

F: I'm good and u?
M: All is well. My name is Dale from Ibadan.
F: I am Ekaette from Akwaibom.
M: Wow! Awesome. Well, it is nice meeting you. Have a wonderful day.

A simple exchange like this is enough to dodge a bullet. Bachelors need to store keywords in their brains when meeting ladies. Akwaibom, Imo and other destiny-killer states/towns should trigger "abort" in any love mission.

I dont get your point. When has asset mean money sitting in bank? What I said is that there is no way Dangote is richer than Bill gates whether techically or otherwise like Hungerbad was saying.. He was making it seem as if Dangote has his own billions sitting in the bank whereas bill gates has his own in the air.. Even Dangote lost nearly half of his networth in 2016.. Wealth is calculated by assets and what I said is Dangote's assets is no where near bill gates's atleast as of now.
/
No one is doubting that. I guess we read what Hungerbad said in different contexts. Hyperbole is still acceptable in writing.

LOL. Money is alien to blacks. They equate expenditure to networth: To.a Nigerian, X has 3 Rolls Royce while Y has 1 Rolls Royce means X is wealthier than Y. If you financially savvy, do not waste time discussing money with Nigerians. Why do you see many people barely hanging on rolling on expensive European cars in Nigeria? Big boys during the day but borrowing money at night. Look good first and then make money later.

Technically yes and no. The way they calculate wealth in the US is a little bit tricky and confusing. Their expected wealth Is even calculated among the present one.

Donald Trump on paper is a Billionaire , but in real life he can't raise a Billion from anywhere. While in Countries where it is strictly cash economy, it is easy to follow the trend of money like we are following Dangotes own.
/
July 25th, 2018:. Mark Zuckerberg's networth tumbled $20b in less than 2hrs because FB closed 16% lower at $181.89. Some people think that Bill Gates is worth $80b means that he has $80b sitting in his bank account somewhere.
Massive cyclical stock market corrections wipe out a lot of people. It is a matter of valuations.

globemoney: that's why it is called networth (exluding debts) not grossworth.

We are talking about loans and debts....not trade deficit.

Africa is synonymous with debts, grants, loans Every other race has reduced blacks to slaves. Yes. A debtor is practically a slave. France, Portugal, London divided Africa into colonies and had proxy government in the colonies. In this era, they have mapped out Africa into financial colonies and the Asians and Arabs do not want to be left out. I want anyone to convince me that blacks are not less of human beings. Aside of the interests on the loans, mineral resources are used as collaterals. Many years from now, China and the rest will own the oil in Nigeria. Those folks are smart and are thinking ahead while dumb African leaders are trading away their assets for physical cash. Education in Africa is a waste.
Nigeria is giving away resources that Western nations will go to war over. All the analog politicians signing away Nigeria will be dead gone when this hit in Nigeria takes effect.

Everything Nigeria need to develop is in Nigeria but just like an average Nigerian online, we are addicted to begging and being a welfare State. A loan is a loan and comes with collaterals. Let's hope it is not oil. China sent students to the West, studied Western style of capitalism and tweeked them to suit themselves. The Nigerians that went to the West refused to return because the leaders lack foresight and fresh ideas are buried on the altars of nepotism, tribalism and egocentrism. Thus, we have engineers that can't build.
Thousands of graduates and the society remains stagnant which begs the question: Do Nigerians understand what school and education are all about?

Looking at the current trend, the best position is to divest out of naira. Nigeria will be an example to prove to the world that blacks have low I.Q and are not intellectually equipped for self rule. The non-Africans have continued to prove this assertion time without numbers. The West will support the most idiotic leader that will not question their supremacy. Why do you think prospective Nigerian leaders run to London first to seek validation from their masters?

The biggest representative of Africa and blacks fly around the world begging for funds. Is this something to cheer about? They take loans from the Chinese. They sign the contracts with Chinese companies to build. The Chinese companies build and get paid by the Chinese banks. In all, the money never leaves China but Nigeria is on the hook for the loan. A beggar has no choice and Due Process is flung out of the window. What is in it to rejoice about? Africa has all the minerals for self-sufficiency but don't know how to harness resources and manpower to be affluent. Let me see how Africa will borrow her way to greatness.

Take a closer look at how much the Nigerian government use to service her foreign loans annually. The amount is very staggering and they keep borrowing. Oh well...

Nigerians are cheering their leaders. They should take a cue from Venezuela and Turkey. When the creditors cook up stories to hit Nigeria, will the people be able to live with naira at N1000 per US dollar?

Not an excuse.

It is good to know what you are dealing with. Once you understand what a bank is all about, you will know how to deal with their shenanigans. Majority of people do not understand banking. What manner of a business will lend you money they know that you cannot afford to pay back, then open insurance on probability of you defaulting on the loan? grin grin It is funny watching banks fvck those who lack financial education.

what are u saying? so the banks in UK he mentioned are charity organisations.
Nigerians have gotten so used to corruption that it has become normal to them
/
No. The banks in UK are not charity organizations. But if you look closer, you will see the trade off. There are other ways they gouge customers.
Let's take a US bank that gives free checking account as an example. If you use ATM of another bank, you get charged $3/ transaction. There is $.30 per ATM purchase transaction. Also, they may not stop a transaction when you don't have enough account balance, but you will be debited $35 per transaction. If a customer does three such transactions over the weekend, on Monday there will be $105 negative debit to the account.

My point is that foreign banks are sneeky with the way they extort from customers. The complaints about bank charges are universal. Be wary when a bank offers you anything for free. Awufu dey run Belle.

They are all the same.

There are some charges that are not necessary. For example debit card maintenance fee and charging customer for birthday wishes are not necessary
/
That's why you should move your money away from such banks. If a restaurant is not serving your meals as needed, do you keep going back or find a better restaurant? It is the same as banks. Banks will take depositors money in whichever way they can get away with. This practice is not limited to Nigeria. Bank will take N10000 from a depositors at 2% interest rate and lend same amount out at 20%. Banks are necessary evils. They will flout CBN regulations and pay fines because they can recover the fines in a month from customers.

The doctor is the one being ignorant. The banks are doing exactly what they are supposed to do--taking people's money and making money out of it. A bank is not a charity organization. Why do people keep money in the banks? It is because of the security they provide. Security comes with a price. He has an option of finding a cheaper bank or keeping his money to himself. Banking is not mandatory.

Anambra is all about good governance devoid of politics. We did it under PDP and got so many federal presence ahead of all the SE state. So what Obiano is doing now is not different from what Obi did under GEJ during PDP reign.

Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra.
/
Isn't it crazy that after all the traumatic experience from politicians, Nigerians are still thinking along party line instead of individuals with high capacity for good governance? PDP destroyed Enugu but PDP under Chime rebuilt it. The good works in Anambra started with Ngige (PDP) and elevated to a greater level by APGA. Ohakim (PDP) destroyed Imo while Rochas(APC) buried it. Abia has passed 6 ft and Ikpeazu is still digging. What party is Umahi? I have no idea but his name comes up when performance is mentioned.

Yet some folks are still carrying umbrellas or brooms around as if those are what bestow good management of resources.

Igbo people have limited land mass. Why would any sane being procure hectares of land around a sleep village in Igbo land and donate same to the FG that have 1000000x more resources than him? Worse still, the donor cannot control the admission process into the school. This is the closest one can get to ranches for the FG in Igbo land. Why would he, Dr. Maduka, acquire land to build a Police institution in His home town. This is downright stvpid. Does not make sense to me.

He is building a federal govt. institution in his home town!!. A large market would benefit his people much more.

A police academy for that matter.

Nigerians should not despair but continue voting until they get it right. OBJ was a failure. Sickly Yar'Adua failed. GEJ was a failure. Buhari is a failure. But in all, Nigerians by all means should continue voting new people in and by Providence could get a good leader she deserves. The greatest mistake at this point will be to retain a loser with zero track record of achievement because of the fear of the unknown.

There is a reason why the retirement age is what it is. If one is not fit to be in civil service, such individual should not be fit to be in public service. Political institutions should not be a retirement home.
