With the poverty and hunger currently in Nigeria, it will be suicidal for people to flaunt their wealth, anytime l am in Nigeria and I go on a very low and discreet profile, some people think l am a fool, Nigeria is a failed state and stands in the same league with Afghanistan Yemen and Syria shocked
/
I don't understand who these people flaunting their wealth in Nigeria are trying to impress. It is same as hanging oneself as a target in a shooting range. What beats enjoying oneself discretely? Assassination is not a random act. The suspects are usually the ones wey dey shine teeth with you. One dude from Canada wey too dey flaunt was poisoned in Nigeria last month. His burial is next week. Oh well...

CharleyBright:
Na person wey never see evil or face spritual battle go dey open mouth abuse the pastor.
The world is full of darkness. Some things or people looking innocent are not truly so.
As many that speak bad of the pastor, should pray they dont fall victim.
/
The biggest victim one can fall is to poverty.

It creates hopelessness to the point of believing that a tree has control over people's destiny.

Even the Bible recognized the existence of the poor. But only in Nigeria do the poor attribute their misfortune to the machinations of evil forces. Michael Tyson and Evander Holyfield blew through their fortunes and learned to live with it. If they were Nigerians, some uncles or tree will take the blame for their financial problems. Nobody is pursuing you spiritually but the bad policies of successive government of Nigeria. The same way APC is chasing shadows with their blame game is the same way a typical Nigerian avoids taking responsibility for his/her actions and or inactions. Ever wonder why the whole nation is retrogressing?

So the black shirts with scorpion they were wearing before were not uniforms?

In other countries, they are special squad (SWAT) that shows in times of emergency. They don't mount roadblocks to harrass and extort from innocent citizens. Therein lies the difference.

They should give them two options: Lagos or Sambisa.

Kentnickole:
I'm suspecting my girl friend. please give some clue.

She has her shop. She will dress very well with good makeup and eye lashes and snap some pix then post them on facebook and be on facebook for hours, even when I call she won't pick until she's done. Once it's like between 12 and 1pm she will tell me on phone that she's going home till 5 or 6pm. She will now call and tell me she's tired and having headache.
/
Just be on the safe side by believing that she is until proven otherwise.

If you are uncomfortable with her, then move on.

Isn’t is funny how the bullies and trolls are usually the most anonymous?

Yup. Because they know it’s mainly about their wickedness and their desire to make others as miserable as they are. Characteristics they don’t want those who know them to see them display. Hence they are always hiding and masking.

Only a crazy person will read “I think the pageants are cool” and respond with a barrage of unrelated tirade dripping with bitterness. There’s no correlation to the opinion submitted and the response given. So no I don’t agree that once an opinion is submitted, any response is welcome.

We are not mentally unstable here. I hope so
/
You don't have to welcome it but it sure is coming as has been shown.

You may not know the state of mind of the fella behind the keyboard.

In my opinion, pageantry in Nigeria has been grossly abused. But if it helps anyone find her true calling in life, who am I to debate that.

I don’t know what part of this thread that I read warranted such vileness. If someone is suffering or whatever their issues are, they shouldn’t come online to take it out on others.

People should grow up and stop trying to use every opportunity to drag others down. Responses should be appropriate to the posts being responded to.

Once you type and click "Submit", it is an acknowledgement that you are willing and capable of receiving the barrage of accolades or insolence that may come your way. We have the good, the bad and the ugly online. The safest place to be is "anonymous" if your emotions are fragile.

I passed theough Owerri in June 2018 (2 months ago). It is an understatement to stay that I was disgusted. Rochas set Owerri back by decades. To get the city back on track will take at least another ten years. Don't let the selective pictures of buildings fo0l you. The better experience will be to drive around the city to witness the decay and total collapse of a small city. It gets worse if you come from an organized city like Enugu. The city of Owerri is a total mess.

I guess it is that feeling that a woman is taking child support money to feed another man. And being a Nigerian, the victim was probably bragging about it and the suspect's fragile ego was hurt. I can only imagine the taunting from other Nigerians in Houston (which is the closest one can get to living in Lagos in US).

The most intelligent Yoruba or Igbo man with advance degrees will bow and suck up to someone with minimal education from the North. They dare not engage them in any kind of intellectual exercise. Then someone had the effrontery to say that Nigeria is not cursed.

Romance › Re: Help!! My Girlfriend's Ex Keeps Re-Surfacing After They Broke Up by InvertedHammer: 10:54pm On Aug 14, 2018
lawnreigh:
The problem now is that the Ex keeps resurfacing using different strategies like begging, crying and other childish act and was always like no one can take her from him, the worst that happened recently now is that the guy wanted to commit suicide, the mother and some of his family members had to call my girlfriend to please reverse her decision on the break up so that he wouldn't end his life etc. I need suggestion on how to resolve this issue once and for all. Its getting out of hand and I cant keep continuing like this, likewise herself too. All ideas, insults and suggestions are welcome.
Here we go.

All the tell tale signs are there to show that the dude is unstable. Yet the girl keeps playing with fire. He may end up killing her out of jealousy if she stays with him.

She must break up with him as a matter of urgency. If he commits suicide, it becomes a win-win because apparently he has nothing to live for.

And you that is hanging around this kind of situation? You really hate yourself. Stop trying to save someone who doesn't want to be saved. There is an Igbo adage,
" he who is dancing to the melodious tune of a lady's flattery usually takes a backflip into the arms of the devil"

Spyder880 as a real estate guy on the ground, I would like to get your opinion on this.

In major eastern cities, I see a lot of buildings from 70s, 80s and 90s that are old but in good condition. Why is it that people are not buying theses buildings and upgrading/renovating them instead of building new ones?

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to do so instead of building a brand new one?
/
In order to buy, the owner must be willing to sell.

Some owners have sentimental attachments to the buildings while for some, that is the only guaranteed pension plan they have.

The last but not the least, the children are already salivating over the rent and the opportunity to become "oga landlord" when the parents die.
