A complete overhaul and reconstruction like JB is doing on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway is what should be done here. I can get you costings and the name of the contractor for that job, but funnily enough i can't for the Enugu-Port Harcourt one!

They are doing the median section. I think they started somewhere close to Umuahia and working their way down to Enugu.

They need gutter in between though.

I still have preference for the roads done parallel but separately than the ones divided in the median.

The ones done with the median divider are preferable for inner cities' highways.
