SBG04: The black man will always remain a slave, even for the next 200 years! We have an emir in Kano that can afford N200million vehicle while he has to wait for bill gates all the way from America, to commission a hospital in Kano! You'll see them welcoming Bill gates at the Airport in their Rolls Royce cars to commission projects that they can readily execute. The black man is just cursed to fail! It's a curse and it's in the blood. There is no remedy. / You see folks who can barely feed rejoicing that their king has a class as if that will indirectly improve his/her well-being.

Take a look at Lagos, Rivers, or even towns near you. The settlers aim for the sky while the natives become omo Onile, touts, thugs.

queensera: Seun kuti, The son of Afro beat pioneer "Fela kuti" took to his Facebook page to reacts to the yahoo boys brouhaha trending in Nigeria.
According to seun kuti, "Yahoo Boys Are Still Mugus (Fools) To The Whites"
Read What He Wrote Below:
Wetin yahoo boy dey take money do? No be to buy expensive white man things? Lol. If they weren’t busy buying White man drink but building their communities maybe just maybe, I will see dem but I don’t. Steal white mans money and the only way u can express that wealth is too seek validation by consuming the most expensive white man things and u say u are a Gee? All Yahoo boys are Mugus for whitey still, dem be learner. Wait that 100k u used 3 months to set the job how long did it take Gucci to collect it back? MUGU. Until we can express our success outside of white validation thru their brands and luxury items of status and class, U STILL BE MUGU.
Source: http://www.nairaplus.com/2018/05/yahoo-boys-are-still-mugus-fools-to.html /* Segun has to understand that money is alien to black folks no matter where they reside. Give $100k to a black person anywhere today, the first thing that comes to the mind is what the money will be spent on and not how to double the money. Like blind leading the blind, fellow blacks will cheer on. They need white people's validation to boost their egos.
NB: I am not talking about blacks in Africa. I mean blacks all over the world. I always like to challenge any naysayer to name one wealthy/rich black nation. Put gold or oil under them and they cannot fathom out what to do with them until white investors show up. Of course, they have professors in many disciplines but regrettably with specialty only in handouts.*/ |

They may try but they can never stop internet scam as long as there are people out there still paying them.
Once people stop paying, it will die a natural death. Internet scam and armed robbery are inversely related. Increase in one yields a substantial decrease in the other.
In Nigeria, the end justifies the means. One can up it a notch by turning to philanthropy and all sins will be forgiven and even defended. Buy a car for the king. Donate money/building to the community. Give out cash to the poor and widows. Thereafter you are free to continue in your stock-in trade. The youths keenly watch all these and know that money is the king.

Family › Re: My Husband Has A Different Surname To The One He Uses.. by InvertedHammer: 5:19am On May 14, 2018 |
Morwendy: Hi. New here but have read threads for years til now and I just have a simple question to ask . Ok, I know how dim I sound but I married my Nigerian husband 8 years ago. Next week, we apply for his permanent leave to remain here. We've been happy enough since we got married, the usual ups and downs but nothing too serious. Anyway, I found that he has a website advertising a business in Nigeria. Asked him about it and he says yes its his but its not up and running yet (like thats why I was mad at him rather than because he set ghis up without even telling me). I was looking at some photos on his site and I came across a poster laying out the days events for his fathers funeral. At the foot of the poster it says 'by [his name but different surname] on behalf of the family. Now, this new surname is the same as his fathers so I believe it to be his true name. Asked him about it and he says that his surname is different to the rest of his family because he chose to take his paternal grandfathers name. I assume his father should also bear the grandfathers name? He just keeps telling me that I don't understand Nigerian customs/traditions but now the word 'scammed' keeps popping into my head. A simple yes or no would be enough - is it usual for a man to NOT take his fathers name? Thanks in advance. /* There is nothing odd about the situation. The only plausible reason is Immigration ordeals. It is very common. You are just overreacting out of insecurity. Scammers do not wait around for 8 years. If he had told you about the business from the onset, you may dissuade him from the venture or worse, your paranoia will grow exponentially off the chart. Some of the folks you are asking here have never stepped outside Nigeria and will only talk based on the limits of their imaginations. */ |

Whether sold to individuals or real estate developers, as long as there is no proper supervision, humans will always find ways to contravene the laws. We tend to use US for example. Municipalities make a lot of money from traffic violations. Everyone knows the traffic rules and regulations before being issued a driver license. Yet people break them and government shows up with a big hammer and squeeze money out of violators. Why are there many functional jails and prisons in US? Because people will always break laws. As inter alia noted, breaking laws is not peculiar to Nigeria. What is unique to Nigeria is the penchant and ease with which violators get away with it. Government officials take bribe and feign ignorance. Sometimes, it is the supervisors that show the lobbyists the loopholes that exist in the system for a token. It is not even about taxation. spyder880: You must understand my pain and frustration with the system. I have lived and worked here all my life, and still facing these demons daily. Nothing is more vexing than being delayed on the road daily for searches and document checks, even by cops who clearly can't read. You have to settle to get the most basic of approvals, you have to know someone who knows someone before being considered for anything. Should I talk about government contract awarding process? Horrible. I chose to stay away from any government contract before they will compromise my values.
But if you think there's any part of our economy which has not suffered from corruption, tell us. I am even afraid to invest in the stock market any more. Its just a pity.
The world reading this is a great help, maybe pressure from outside can force the hands of our governments to wake up and do things right, lots of square pegs in round holes, lots of incompetence, lots of avoidable mistakes, lots of same mistakes repeated over and over again to the extent that you start thinking its deliberate. We cannot continue like this.
And for some of you who have seen better, some of you who have experienced a semblance of good governance in foreign countries, how do you manage to lower all your standards, stoop lower to accommodate this sleaze? How do you feel when you see policemen posted to checkpoints for the sole purpose of fleecing motorists and beating anyone who objects into submission? How do you feel paying hefty bribes to free your relatives from cell for the offence of walking around in their own neighbourhoods? How do you feel when girls are coerced into sleeping with old lecturers, if they must pass a course in the university, while boys must pay in cash or fail the course. How do you feel when patients die just because there is no equipment in hospitals to save them after billions has been budgeted and embezzled, or because the driver of the ambulance drove away to do kabu kabu with the only vehicle for ER and so the patient died on top of a motorcycle after a spinal injury.
In all, nobody will be punished, nobody has been jailed yet for budget padding, nobody will ever be jailed for including thousands of ghost workers into most payrolls. And the whole cycle will repeat itself again tomorrow. How can I keep quiet? /*Good thing you let it out. It is thought like this that gave birth to dependence on codeine to numb the mind.
