ageraGT:/ You need a comprehensive medical check up. Talk to your doctor. The colour of your eyes is not normal. \ |
LagosEconomist:/ There is no complexity involved. It is either you have trained hands or you don't. Even the so-called trained hands cannot be trusted in my opinion because there are no checks and balances. Physicians in developed worlds are faced with malpractice lawsuits that keep them in check against going off-grid. But without such oversight in Nigeria, going to these places is like playing Russian roulette with one's life. You must understand that Nigerians have poor attitude to serious issues especially the ones that will not provide immediate financial gratification with minimal effort. Any interventional radiologist(s) that would pack up to work in Nigeria will be a suspect in my book. What are the motives? \ |
sonnie10:/ How do they even intend to power those pieces of equipment? I have given up on Nigeria a long time ago. One would think that with the geographical location of Nigeria and the sheer number of electrical/electronics engineers graduating out of their secondary schools (sorry Universities) that Nigeria will be the champion of solar energy. Hell No! They are waiting for the white folks to develop and then they import. Yet they will not fail to remind you that they are engineers. I believe education in Nigeria is centered on "cram and vomit" and no critical thinking abilities among the so-called science graduates. Coming to the issue of the medical center, it is obvious that the fund was embezzled and the source through backdoor backfired. Any accountability? Any transparency? That in itself will be asking too much. I guess the country is overpopulated and the nonchalant attitude towards life and social welfare is nature's way of exercising population control on the ignorant populace. Cry not. God and nature are in control. / |
/ I wouldn't worry about it. What are they going to do--ruin your credit? Send back the textbooks (keep evidence of doing it) if not paid for and ignore them. \ |
/ They will be more worried when they check the names of the successful candidates in the SW and North. Igbo people are highly migrant. / |
/ This is one of the reasons that insurance companies do not fix most front wheel drives that get involved in front end collisions--too much liabilities. They sell them off to auction houses. Nigerians buy them, straighten the chassis, put new bumpers, paint and sell to unsuspecting end-users who are looking for cheap cars. When accidents like this happen, they start blaming their uncles in the village. Granted that Nigeria roads are best described as off-road tracks, It is foolhardy to take a knife to a gun fight. / |
/ To all the frustrated ones that use every opportunity to berate diaspora Nigeria by saying, " I will rather be a king in my country than be a slave in another man's country".....Here is your kingdom. If this were to be in any other country, the Chinese man will get at least 5 years imprisonment. There is no room for amicable settlement in this matter. Home or Abroad: most Nigerians are slaves -- regrettably, they are worse off at home. / |
/ Keep your expenses to the barest minimum. Your marriage will last only about 3 years after you take your wife abroad. / |
/ Go to the registrar and get a marriage certificate. Go for photo ops at your choice location. Organize home party for family and friends. File papers, get visa and travel with your spouse. And as soon as your spouse settles in, your living nightmare begins. Learn from the mistakes of others before you. Find a wife in your country of residence. Just like all the victims before you, you think your case will be different. Good luck! Stop living in the 20th century. This is 2016. No one is talking about marrying and taking anywhere again. Shine your eyes. / |
VonScott:May be that one no chop. |
/ The funny thing is that nobody cares. If you didn't mention how much he wasted on it, I wouldn't have looked at it twice. / |
Vanquay:/ That is not racism. They choose to keep things to themselves and help one another unlike your people. What do the Jews, Indians, Japanese and Chinese have in common? They are frugal, rich and help one another. Give the same money to a black fellow. He will run away from his fellow blacks for obvious reasons--they will be planning his failure. The Chinese and Indians treat Nigerians like slaves. Do Nigerian employers treat Nigerians any better? People don't know how shameful it is to complain that someone flew thousands of miles into your country to enslave you. In your own backyards and you call yourselves men? ***spits on Nigerians! / |
/ Bible or not, tattoos are disgusting. It gets worse watching all the ratchet chicks ink their body to oblivion. It starts with the athletes and artists. Then all the losers in the ghettos who feel like they will never amount to anything in life start identifying with the stars by tattooing themselves as if the stardom is transferable. These days the stars are paying thousands of dollars to remove the tattoos while the losers are stuck with the marks all over their bodies. What a bunch of losers! / |
mazzi:/ You call it damage control because you are a nice guy. I call it total bullshit. / |
Xposer:/ I don't know which is worse: The fainting or the kwarikwata from the mattresses. Who in their right minds will participate in a marathon when Kenyans are present? The geographical location of Kenya gives them altitude advantage. So in a normal altitude, while folks are running out of breathe, Kenyans feel like they are just starting the race. / |
/ Buhari got it wrong! Nigerians are not necessarily criminals; they are criminal-minded. The few good ones are only waiting for the right opportunity to join the rest. Just like the Chinese proverb succinctly put it, "don't assume that one is upright because he has never had the opportunity to steal" In my book, every Nigerian is a suspect until proven otherwise. / |
/ During his last few years, GEJ was the most criticized and hated president even by Abati's admission. GEJ came, saw and fumbled. Where is this latest admiration coming from? Even with all the rot being excavated on a daily basis? He conceded an election in which he had no chance of winning and so he is an overnight hero. Give me a break! I still maintain that Buhari is the wrong choice to lead Nigeria in this fast-paced world. But to say that Jonathan has any functioning brain as a leader is an assault on common sense. In summary, Nigerians are comfortable with life in squalor which is why they keep electing one mediocre leader after another. Nigeria will be great but Nigerians are not ready for that great Nigeria yet. Let the fumble continue. APC, PDP, or whatever acronym, is being run by the same cabal in different uniforms. / |
/ OP, you better hurry up before it becomes too late. As stated, I went through the same crap about 2 months ago. I was lucky in a way. I was down additional N1.7m. But I seized the shipping agent's VW Passat 2006 and a Toyota Avalon engine he had in another container. Shine your eyes. / |
Rockyrascal:/ It doesn't pay. I don't even see how much he made to warrant all the nonsense. The demurrage and Terminal fees were paid directly to the authorities. I will be surprised if he made N200k from the deal. Was it worth it? I don't think so. He lost his main client that introduced me to him. For someone that just started a new family, he will go through hard times. He would have been the one clearing the second container now but he destroyed his reputation with greed/lies. I learned that he has turned into a pastor in some mushroom church in Ajagbadi(?). \ |
Rockyrascal:/ I knew it. But I was not in Nigeria then. I just wanted the consignment out to cut my losses. Guess what? Whatever money he made, he probably has finished it now. Life goes on. \ |
/ Something crazy must be going on in Lagos. My other consignment got in on January 15th, Telex release was on Feb 1st. The agent is promising to get the container out by Tuesday next week. I am already waiting for long stories. After many years of shipping things to Nigeria, this is the first time that I have had problems. So something really must be going on in Lagos ports. My suspicion is that a new sheriff is in town and the clearing agents are getting caught in their web of lies oblivious of the fact that it is a new regime, new game. So take heart my friend. Are you in Nigeria? If not, expect long stories. \ |
/ The problem is from your agent. I got "hosed" last year. My consignment arrived Lagos on October 29th, 2015. The shipping company A & A Shipping LLC, Compton (now defunct) was notorious for late Telex release. Telex release took another 2 weeks after harassing the hell out of them. Then the agent started his rat-race gimmick in Nigeria. More delays and the demurrage and terminal fees came up to N1.2m (after 2 months). I had to pay just to get the goods out on January 31st after Apapa Police, the Comptroller, and people from Abuja got involved. The agent had to come clean else it would have been one long story after another. There are a lot of unscrupulous agents in Lagos especially since the field is unregulated. Your agent probably pulled a fast one and got caught. So now he has to find money to cover the expenses. He probably expended whatever he made from trying to cheat the Customs. Expect more dodgy stories from him. Clearing of a container should not take more than five working days: Customs duties, inspection, demurrage (if any), terminal fees and haulage. \ |
/ They rejoice today. They may burn the brooms or umbrellas. They go home with their N5k each. Two days later they are back to square one. In all, the politicians and bar men win. / |
georgio:/ Not that I support the police but I can understand. The only way to collect debt in Nigeria usually involves unconventional means else it is one long story after another. / |
ozoigbondu:/ I feel sad for Imo state. How can a state so blessed be burdened with one bad leadership after another? Imo State governors usually start strong and then end with a whimper. \ |
/ You didn't get an amazing job. God has given you an opportunity to mould your life. My unsolicited advice: No balling! Use this opportunity to invest heavily. Live as if you got an Intel that you will be sacked next year. Nigeria still remains unstable for employees. / |
Ama80:/ Because of inflation. Will you be willing to pay N1,000 for a bottle of fanta? Devaluation is good for countries that have big manufacturing base. For a jacked up country like Nigeria, devaluation is suicidal to the masses. No jobs, no infrastructures, no factories, and then abysmal purchasing power of the local currency...You get a train wreck waiting to happen. / |
We will see how far it can go especially with HnS formation in 240mins. Crude needs to clear 34.80 for bullish momentum to pick up. Crude...WTI, that is. Emphasis mine. / |
/ The intelligent ones usually get job offers. Try engaging the unemployed ones in a conversation and you will know why they are unemployed or unemployable. There are some people you want to help but they may end up embarrassing you. / |
peppyluv02:/ You care else you won't be mentioning my comments. Looking for attention? Not from me. I refrain from "carrying" women. Go find patrons elsewhere. Your format is obsolete -- pick a fight in public, apologize privately, become friends, then trade poon for cash. I believe in abstinence. / |
/ There is more to the story. He no be better person. As husband scarce reach? Abi na from only from him village im wan marry. He no serious! Assuming the tory na true. May be im dey go where im hand no reach. Person wey nefa marry dey get spouse visa? I tire o. If he go any of the Pentecostal churches wey ladies wey dey find husband bokwu, na lottery sef e go use select better nyarinya. Truth be say.....the guy no get money. No be every person wey dey Italy can afford three square meals. Some of them sef, na you go dash money give am. The story get k-leg. / |
