/ I don't think anyone goes into marriage to live apart.
All you can do is keep praying that "it shall not be your portion".
Some people who thought they would fly in this world ended up crawling.
Even though the scenario is a sad situation, everything happens for a reason.
I met a gentleman in Guangzhou, China who overstayed his permit. Back in the days, he would be deported on arrest. But in recent times, he will be cleared like a container. For him, it has become a case of "damned if you, damned if you don't" that is, stay in China hoping for the best vs. submit yourself to the authority and be detained in China hoping for the best.
/ About 2 years ago, I warned the so-called oil companies' employees in Nigeria to cut back on their expenses and diversify their sources of income away from oil. Some catwaulers shot the advice down. Now the chicken has come home to roost. Thousands will be sequestered. The economic fundamentals are in shambles. Current prices of goods have not reflected the unbalanced exchange rates and when they do, the rate of inflation will be astronomical. It will get worse before it gets better. Strap on your seat belts for bumpy rides going forward. /
austinvsb1: You have my attention! I think you are intelligent enough.. Now this is my point of view! The Americas (North and south combined) are not even up to Africa by population.. should an Artist celebrated by over 1billion people not matter out there!
Don't tell me the 'good music' nonsense! Asa isn't celebrated as much despite her unmatchable music talents! I mean, imagine if Asa sang 'Hello'.. meanwhile, I can point to more than 3 of Asa's song that are lyrically deeper than hello anyday, anytime!
Now back to Davido, despite having the highest population of entertainment loving blacks in the world, why do you think Nigerian acts (musicians and actors) don't get as much respect and recognition in the world over? I mean you hear this American and European artists plan world tours and visit places like Angola, Ethiopia and even Erithrea but ignore Nigeria with the highest possibility of making the most income in Africa?!
R.kelly and wizkid made a song on r.kelly's last album. I'v heard radio stations play shittier songs on the album but not the one with wizzy on it! Are some people scared of the potentials of allowing Nigerian acts get into international mainstream media and recognition? Your guess is as good as mine! Politics of subjugation!
I don't know davido, we'v never crossed paths, I don't know what could have transpired in the club but I will never be a party to smearing him by some Americans because he is not 'star enough' No way!

Smart people take quality over quantity.
A king in Nigeria may be a cab driver in US. Why?
Some American artists will walk through Nigeria undetected. Davido went through America undetected.
So...what's the big deal? Davido in Nigeria/Africa is not the same as Davido in USA.
He has his market and reality has proved it to him.
Africa has the biggest population. Yet they are the beggars of the world. That is another evidence that quality trumps quantity.
Americans have chosen their celebrities/stars and no amount of wailing from Africans can change that. I consider myself a Nigerian. I have heard about Davido and his songs. If you ask me to identify any of his songs, I cannot because most Nigerian artists sound the same. It is similar to the characteristics of Nollywood movies where if you have seen one, you have seen all with the exception a few. There are only a few talented Nigeria artists, most of them are auto-tune noisemakers.
I believe Americans have had their fare share of auto-tune noise from T-Pain.
yahrant140: Squabbles over legal representation for Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Monday, stalled his trial for alleged treason at the federal high court, Abuja. Vincent Obetta, Kanu’s lawyer, who has represented him since the beginning of his trial at a lower court, was not in court, but another lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who claimed that he had been hired to represent the IPOB leader, showed up.
A mild drama ensued as Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel asked Ejiofor to leave, impressing it on him that Obetta was the legitimate counsel of his brother. Ejiofor tarried a while, but left afterwards.
The case, however, did not come up, and Obetta told TheCable that the Kanu family was still trying to sort out issues regarding legal representation for Kanu, who has been in detention since October 14, 2015. On December 23, 2015, Kanu had refused to take his plea before Ahmed Mohammed, justice of the federal high court, Abuja, citing lack of confidence in the court.
This was after Adeniyi Ademola, another justice of the federal high court, Abuja, ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to release him unconditionally, and after a chief magistrate court discharged and acquitted of charges of criminal intimidation and ownership of unlawful society. Meanwhile, Obetta has refuted reports that Kanu is ill, and that he is being tortured in custody. According to him, Kanu is in high spirits and healthy.
/ Celebrities get " bounced" all the time for the wrong or right reasons. The only clubs that give guaranteed entrance are the strip clubs.
If a star is in the house and shuts down the V.I.P section, Davido ain't going in unless he wants to join the regular crowd. The security guys at the entrance act on orders and might not know that Davido exists. I am not sure if there is any American that can identify Davido in a line up. It is not as if regular Americans give a hoot about anything happening beyond their shores. He should have sent advance team to make arrangements for his visit.
Davido being bounced should not be "breaking news". The club fellas are probably reading the tweets and laughing their a/ss off. /
angryhumanbeing: Good Day pals, please pardon all grammatical errors because I am very angry now as I write this. I am a known person here but I decided to change my name.
I am a banker. I was working in bank X before i joined bank Y. I had wonderful experiences in bank X. I decided to join bank Y so as to have experience there too. But ever since I joined bank Y, it has been disaster working there from the very first day I entered there. The manager has been tormenting me from the very first day he sighted me. I dont know if we have struggled for a babe b4, i just dnt knw. I am a permanent staff but this man treats me like a cleaner. The time for us to be in the office is latest 7.20am but in my first week there, i came to work by 7.17am and this man was shoutn and embarrasing me outside the bank where customers queues up to withdraw from the atm. Dat was my first bitter encounter wit him. I was brought to the branch as Funds Transfer Officer but it took this manager a full month to create me as FTO. On my Third day on the job, He connived with another bad colleague and they pushed me to the atm as ATM Custodian. This I was doing with tears because this man was just making life unbearable for me by threatening me all the time. All the jobs in the branch was given to me to do except FTO jobs. He refused creatn me and even wen i was later created, he still refuse i work as FTO. Theres sometn called cashdrop box, and its meant for contract staff to work there but this man forced me to work there for even upto a month combined with atm custodian and other cash jobs while the other bad colleague walks around pressing fones and chattn. Later in November, the Area Manager visited and said i should be returned as FTO. Ever since then, this manager will pack other peoples job on me and be embarassing me in front of customers when I dnt finish them. Whenever I tried to complain, he will start shoutn and insultn me in front of customers. This has been happening for upto 5months now. I joined this particular bank in late August and by middle of september, 6 staff angrily left the branch because of this manager and his accomplices. By tomoro, another staff is leavn becos of constant quarell wit manager. The branch has been under wicked rule by this manager and the other bad colleague. For the past 5months I have been here, its been hell. I have reduced drastically in size. Even size 30 trousers are very loose on waist now becos of so much thinkn, insults and harrasments from this man. I have planned to resign at the end of the month becos of the evil torture of this man and the other bad colleague. Please I need matured advices becos i am almost like a walking corpse. Each week i feel sick here. One sickness or the other. Any day i remember i will go to dat office, my mind will be filled with sadness becos theres no single day this same man will nt harrass me.
Pls mods help me. I need advices and i have made up my mind to leavn here becos each day i see this man and the other bad man, i feel like shooting them to death becos as i speak nw, the other bad man does nothn in the branch. He only snaps pics, chat and walk around. He comes to work by 7.45am and the manager will nt say a word!
Pls mods help me do the needful. Thank you.
/ Read your post one more time.
Have you seen why I think that you are not fit to be a cleaner in any bank?
First impression matters. My impression about you from your post is better left in my mind.
Next time, write to represent your industry and the formal education you claimed to have acquired.
Na as goat take stand dem dey take price am. The world does not revolve around your anger.

/ Not to make light of the situation, but these guys took punctuation to a whole new level.
stephenduru: A Nigerian man, who claims he landed at the Muritala Mohammed Airport few hours ago, says he has been picked up by men of the Department of State Services (DSS) and taken to their office for questioning. Emeka whose facebook profile says he resides in Rockville, Maryland, alleges that being picked up by the security men is not unconnected to his constant criticism of the current government.
Emeka is the President/CEO of Eculaw and a member of a facebook group called The Due Process Advocate (DPA).
/ Emeka Ugwuonye has been having problems with FGN for years. It culminated in the sack of Farida Waziri as the EFCC chairperson after late Ambassador Adefuye connived (through a letter evidence) with her to have Emeka detained in Nigeria for months.
The issue is about $1.5m due to the Nigerian Embassy, that Emeka confiscated because he claimed that FGN owed him the money for services he rendered defending ex-Head of State Gen. Abubakar in the US court. It is a very complicated case.
I believe the main problem was that some interested parties wanted some share of the money but Emeka refused to part with a dime. And they went for his jugular. The case is very complicated else Emeka would have been in jail for tampering with IRS tax refund. There are too many missing links in the whole story. One thing that is certain is that Emeka is very troublesome and showy. /
I don't see how anyone could work under such harsh labour conditions as Nigerian Police Force and expected to be sane. From dilapidated barracks, low remuneration to no welfare packages; NPF can turn an otherwise mentally healthy person into a maniac. NPF personnel have frustration written over their body and giving such individuals guns is accidental discharges waiting to happen.
First thing should be to.improve the welfare of NPF, then weed out the bad apples and recruit people who have integrity, education and cherish the dignity in labour. /
/ Why would a billionaire use smart phones that are prone to hackers' attack and privacy violation?
These guys are smart. People that live in third world countries do not realize how much their privacy is violated by all the free apps that are peddled in the smartphones. But then, the society is not sophisticated enough for privacy. Some people (esp. Nigerians) do wonder why some folks do not put up pictures and private information on social media. It is for some reasons beyond their comprehension
Otutu1: Please i would like this medium to ask a few questions. i am looking to buy a car hopefully one that i would use for 2 years. Ive seen a 2006 civic with 100000km on it and has been registered for 2 years, it looks like a good deal apart from small interior touches and no sunroof Was wondering if i could get some advice from the gurus here. is there any particular thing i should be looking out for? This would be my first car. Thanks in advance.
/ A typical car lease is about 4-5 years. And per dealership, the mileage restriction is about 10k/year. Within that 4-5years, the dealership does all the routine maintenance. So the car should be in a top notch condition after the lease is up. After the lease is up, the car is usually traded in and sold off.
For a 2006 car, calculate 10k/year x 9 years = 90,000 miles. Since the civic has 100k miles, it is fair to assume that the owner took good care of it baring any flooding, unreported accident(s), etc.
I think it is a good buy. Have a competent mechanic check it out for you. And by any chance if you have the VIN#, some NLers will help you with the report (for US used cars).
luvinhubby: Incompetent economic management occassioned by shallow minded politicians who will rather want to be seen as welfarists than anything else.
First step should have been, raise VAT to between 7.5 - 10% & reduce govt. borrowing but hell no, they will borrow N2 trillion & spend 70% of it on recurrent expenses added to the extra N1 trillion of last half of 2015 & a projected N1 trillion from further collapse of oil price coupled with the unrealistic N1.2 trillion projected non-oil exports in 2016 which will further drive up our budget deficit to around N4 trillion in the next 10 months.
At this pace, Nigeria will spending 40-45% of our annual earnings 3yrs from now servicing debts.
How did we get here?
APC should not destroy Nigeria biko.
/ You analyzed the symptoms but not problem.
Developed nations rely on circulation of money within the system to oil the economy. US for instance, encourages spending and less savings.
But when a few individuals hoard cash as seen in Dasukigate and wire the funds outside the country, the economy becomes stagnant. Borrowing is never the problem; every government borrows. The problem is that a good portion of the fund will be looted with impunity, zero accountability and nonexistent repercussions.
VAT, loans, recurrent expenditures, etc are only variables in the equation. /
theV0ice: Exactly my point. He must have consulted with his lawyers and they would have assured him he's on some sort of solid ground.
/ The points are somewhat valid.
The problem is that when e set na im face go collect better slap no be the lawyers'. Baba sef carry style get half-pass six eye when dem nefa slap am. And upon say baba dey collect slap, lawyers go dey behind still dey throway grammar.
Like this NIMASA goat EFCC grabbed outside court, im lawyers no fit do squat upon all the rug for head, gragra and grammar
/ This is why cars are the most silly thing to spend money on in Nigeria. Bad roads, fast depreciation, etc. The Bentleys of today will be junk in twenty years.
A land purchased at the same price in the 90s would have appreciated by at least 1000%.
