Romance › Re: When A Woman Is Complete And When She Is Finished. by InvertedHammer: 11:53pm On Jan 28, 2016
Toks2008:
I have heard many ladies say stuffs like "John loves me but i can't marry him because i have no feelings for him but I love Jude but he is just acting funny and he even told me he does not love me" but she will still continue to hope that Jude wakes up one day to start loving her while she keeps driving John away.

This is the case with many ladies loving a man who does not want or love them while neglecting or friend-zoning the serious minded dudes who sincerely want them.A happy and peaceful union is not about being with a Tall, cute, handsome, rich bla bla bla...but its about having a man who respects and sincerely wants you.

Please as a lady, you must understand that it is not every man who professes love to you is genuine and not not all the men who ask for your hand in marriage really wants you because many guys marry for different reasons. Some want unhindered sex, some just want to have children, want someone to take care of the home front or just satisfy the demands of family members so be sure to test that man to know if he really loves and wants you as a wife for the right reasons before saying yes i do to him..

I have so many lady friends who have been in and out of affairs and i can boldly make this conclusion with no fear of confrontation that for a lady to have a fulfilling marriage, it is not about how sweet looking or romantic or rich a guy is and infact the feelings of the lady towards the man as important as it may be does not guaranty a happy marriage rather it is what the man feels towards the lady that matters.

Now let me blow your mind;many ladies will not agree with this but this is how women are wired. Men are visually influenced while ladies are emotionally influenced.

If a woman marries a man she does not love as in no single love at all but this guy starts to show her real love and i mean treats her like a queen,i bet you that in no time, she will begin to fall in love with him even if he is a fat, short, ugly man. This is the mystery that women don't even understand just like the act of sharing a man but if you marry a guy by all means because he is a cutie, rich or for any other reasons asides from his unequivocal desire for you, trust me,by the time he treats you like a poo after marriage, that cute guy you marry will look like a beast and all the money he has will be inconsequential to you . The beauty and the beast movie is not just fiction.

My unbiased conclusion is that if a lady marries a man that truly loves and cherishes her,SHE IS COMPLETE IN MARRIAGE but if a lady marries a man she loves and feels so crazy about but does not truly loves or desires her,SHE IS MARITALLY FINISHED .

Every woman should pray to marry a man who will make them complete.

My humble personal take.

It is always you and women.

Is it not ironic that though there isn't petroleum resources in Kaduna state, Nigeria still has a refinery there? Is it not funny that the government of Yar'adua moved to establish the National Petroleum College, Kaduna state in 2009 even when we have PTI(Efurun)? A wise Obj brought NIMASA and NPA to Lagos because of the ports' activities but our own couldn't relocate NNPC, Niger Delta ministry and Amnesty office to the Niger delta region.
/
Exactly my point.

The struggle for the presidency is for the protection of the interests of the region. This is why Buhari is being accused of running Northern agenda.

GEJ was a nominal president from ND. The road network in SE and SS were in shambles. No 2nd River Niger bridge. PH International airport is an eyesore. The fight with Amaechi trumped the entire interests of the people of Rivers State.

An Hausa president will have no qualms deploying Julius Berger to all the nooks and crannies of the North any day and any time. I won't be surprised if Buhari relocates the school to Daura. The worst thing that will happen is that opinion writers will litter pages of newspaper and online media with their drivel. And that will be it.

Let me chime in here.

Blame GEJ!

If he were to be a good student of history, he would have known that Nigeria is littered with abandoned white elephant projects. Subsequent administrations usually reverse or cancel the projects of the preceding administration. Federal University Otuoke is up and running and cannot be scrapped. If he was serious about the institution, he would have applied due diligence to ensure its completion within all those years he was lounging in Aso Rock. He was busy amassing personal wealth instead of correcting the infrastructural advantages the North has over the South. I guess 8 years came too quickly. When Abacha/Buhari built up the North using PTF, they didn't hold back.

And like the popular adage has it, "if you want things done right, do it yourself "

A deal like this is why a lot US artists end up being broke. He better pray for back to back hits with millions in sales.

The problem is not NOI.

The problem is the Nigeria prosecutors that are so naive, unprofessional and ill-trained on how to pursue criminal cases.
They may have multiple degrees appended to their names, but they are ignorant as door knobs. They only show
up when there is noise to be made on a local level. Isn't it shameful how suspects and criminals are using the prosecutors
to mop the floor? Even with a truckload of evidence, the prosecuting attorneys cannot build a good case and suspects
walk. They only resort to crude armtwisting tactics because their brains are tabula rasa.

Compile the charges against NOI, approach a court and have the court issue subpoena so that she will testify under
oath. How hard is it for these folks to think? They think prosecution is effective in the media. The ICC maneuver is
puerile. Falana should know better.

1)Please, what's d difference between nylon 1 and nylon 2?
It is merely size. I have used them severally to suture. Using nylon 1 instead of nylon 2 would not cause burst abdomen, rather using one for the other would be hard/easier for the doctor (personal experience) and also especially cos of the attached needle.
2) Causes of burst abdomen?
-Use of absorbable sutures instead of nonabsorbable. Nylon is nonadsorbable, as in this case.
-Method of closure. Interruped sutures better than continuous.
-Midline n vertical incision have a greater predisposition to burst abdomen then horizontal incisions. But each has its adv and disadv.
-If there are present, causes of increased abdominal preasure, eg, coughing, vomiting, ascites.
-Presence of wound infection.
-Initial cause of operation, eg gunshots which are 'dirty' wounds and have a high burst abdomen incidence (which I suspect in this scenario.
-General condition of patient, eg, obesity, Jaundice.

3)I trained in NAUTH. I have had cause to donate and source for emergency blood. I smell a lie in that statement because, BEFORE ANY BLOOD IS DEPOSITED IN THE BLOOD BANK THERE, IT WILL HAVE BEEN TESTED FOR HIV, SYPHILIS, HEPATITIS B n C.
I have donated blood severally for people as a free donor and I know the procedure.

You say Nigerian doctors are not trying, tell that to the patient who I sutured after he had a DEGLOVING injury on his foot after an accidentr and see what he will tell you. Half of his foot skin removed and I had to repair it. Would I also mention the free outreaches I have assisted?
Ok nah

I understand you quite well sir. Let me quickly point out one fact that those people (okonjo etc) are not "employees" in the light most people might see it. They are all big time entrepreneurs... Check out their investments and you will marvel. Thank you very much.
/
In other words, you are acknowledging that some people do not understand the difference between investing and entrepreneurship. You can invest money without being an entrepreneur whereas you cannot be an entrepreneur without investing money.

We hear about the likes of Zuckerberg. But you don't hear about the employees or other investors that are worth hundreds of millions of dollars from Facebook alone. They might not have Zuckerberg's money (there is only one) but chances are that if they start something on their own, they may never see that kind of money in their lives. Steve Jobs died but Apple billionaire/millionaire employees and investors are still alive and kicking.

Like I stated, if you find a good organization, run with it. How many organizations in Nigeria survive the death of their founders? This is the problem and not necessarily being employees.

Got your point bro.. Bottom line is.. No employee can be richer than his employer. Just as you said, not all are millionaires, yet we determine where and how we survive and feed: either by way of being your own boss or by being another's employee... It's a choice, I chose the former though.
/
An employee of a car-washing outlet can never be richer than his employer. But with proper education, the employee can move to something better and be able to swim in an ocean the car-wash owner will be afraid to step into.

Entrepreneurs can invest and be wealthy as long as employees do not rise in rank in the office and formulate policies that will kill off the entrepreneurs overnight. The trio of Sanusi, Okonjo Iweala and Emefiele (all career civil servants) had at some points pursued policies that made Dangote shake in his boots. Don't underestimate the power of the so-called employees. Then again, there are different levels of employees which is why I advocate that one should work one's way up just the same way an entrepreneur would in business adventures.

Being an employee in a standard organization with opportunities for growth is very good. Some investment portfolios of some employees will make some entrepreneurs abandon ship if such opportunities call.
You and I know that Nigeria does not reward professionalism which is why some people tend to look down on employees while forgetting that the directors today were once entry-level employees.

NB: Do not get stuck in a stagnant organization.

There's something many first time entrepreneurs get wrong at the first try, and that is working with a mental stop loss (FX trading taught me this). This helped when my first business failed as I walked away still doing much better than most of my employed peers were/are. Everywhere there are stories of failed entrepreneurs but what some fail to realize is that some of those failed entrepreneurs already have assets which would take contemporaries in paid employment 2 decades to acquire.
I remember applying for my first and only job last year and immediately I got called for an interview and started talking, I aced it, got shortlisted but may not be taking up the offer as I prepare to venture out again. Do you know how many loans it takes for the average employee to buy a car? How many more to buy a piece of land? ...and how long it takes to pay them back? Yes there are successful employees and most often than not, those are the ones with the entrepreneurial spirit and at first glance they do not look like the type of employees this OP is referring to. Entrepreneurship isn't necessarily about Mark Zuckarberg or the failed Laundry business in your neihgbourhood. There are millions of those who are doing well in-between.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being an employee (in fact, it is quite honorable) but please, enough of the NL topics discouraging entrepreneurs/businessmen, most of y'all are currently paying rent to one.
If you do not have the mental and money capital to start up a venture, by all means go into paid employment. However, if you are like me and willing to take a risk and make profit/mitigated loss(moving your business stop loss to break even as you grow, jump in).
The first question any young person must ask themselves in this country is, "Have I woken up to the Nigerian situation?"
/
You are only operating on your level.

Kweku Adoboli for example was earning $700k/yr equivalent in a year as an employee. There are many people in their early 20S earning more. And they are considered middle class. Let me see you beat that record with your successful entrepreneurship.

Some employees earn more than the phantom entrepreneurs of their peers. It is a fact.

I have a friend who retired and moved to Abuja. He gets about $8,000/month from his 401k, social security and Roth IRA. That is about N2.4m every month for the rest of his life for not doing anything. He has houses and cars from his paid employment. He is currently a salesperson for a SA solar company to keep body and soul together. At 70, what else can one pray for. His medical needs are covered. That's a good deal. And he wasn't an entrepreneur.

most rich and wealthy men in the globe and in Nigeria today are entrepreneurs. Check the fist ten richest men in Nigeria and see if you have a salary earner there, I don't think so...

Some market women and road sellers or even small shop owners today earn more than a banker.

Nothing like having a business of your own. It gives you maximum time of your own to think, plans and move ahead. Only small mind will begin to consider failure when planing to set up a business. Even if you fail, you can brace up again.

The owner of 7up failed 7times before the business could stand solid today and became a multinational bottling company.
/
How many 7up companies are there? Thank you. You said that if you fail, you can brace up again. You forget that capital is a limiting factor. You sound as if there are millions of naira sitting in the banks waiting for one to tap into on failure. It is an unrealistic expectation.

Think of a world where everyone is a successful entrepreneur. Some people have it and others don't.
You don't have to be an entrepreneur to live a good life.

I remember a few years back when banks in Nigeria published the names of businesses that are in default. It was a little bit of an eye opener for some people to know that the otherwise successful businesses are living on bad loans. If not for Nigerian factor, such companies would have filed for chapter 11 since.

Everyone is not cut out to be an entrepreneur. The ones that have it in them are not here arguing pros and cons of entrepreneurship. They are out there making deals. Running a successful business in Nigeria is very difficult. Thus, a lot of the successful ones are tied to the apron of politics. At the end of each era of government, it takes with it a litany of failed enterprises.
Some people don't understand the rigours of business until they start. If you can do it, go for it. If you are gainfully employed in a standard organization, try to work yourself up. There is a certain threshold that once crossed, chances of being poor again in life is very slim. You don't have to be a billionaire to be comfortable in life.

That's all.

/
Not necessarily. Employees may feel the first impact, but they will not feel the worst impact.
Before the entrepreneur packs up, he/she must have gone through psychological and financial trauma
that might not be easily visible to untrained eyes. Remember that businesses rarely fail overnight. Usually before
it gets to that point, the employees could feel it coming. Failure hurts one and all. The ones that get fired lose
their source of income while an entrepreneur with failed business adventure loses source of income, capital, self-worth;
undergoes emotional trauma and might even have bank loans to pay back--that in itself is one heck of another stress.

My point is that building wealth is not easy else everybody will be a millionaire. We have millionaire employees and millionaire
entrepreneurs just as we have employees that are barely hanging on and entrepreneurs who can barely make payrolls.

Career › Re: Ten Reasons Why You Should Be An Employee by InvertedHammer: 10:38pm On Jan 24, 2016
aprokomania:
More often than not, the internet is flooded with information on reasons why every one should be entrepreneurs. While I do not doubt that it is necessary that more people embrace self employment, it is also necessary for people to have an open mind towards employment and look at the pros and cons of both before delving to start the next Microsoft. The following are reasons why there should be more people in employment than there are now.

1 LESS RISK
Granted, it is a a fact that there are risks to being in paid employment, however, you are more likely to retain your job than a business start-up is to thrive in the market.. Statistically speaking, 90 percent of start ups are bound to close in the first five years of existence. In fact, by its very definition, an entrepreneur is one who is willing to take risks.
TIP, think of this-its almost always news when a company lays off a number of workers but it gets no mention when the same number of business start-ups or SMEs close down.

2 DEFINED WORK HOURS
It is an obvious advantage for many employees that their work hour is defined. Usually, right from your employment you are told when you will be needed to work, and often times, you get paid for any extra time spent. For an entrepreneur however, work hours are usually not defined as they have to work around the clock to ensure that the business goes smoothly.

3 DEFINED CAREER PATH
Also, being in paid employment in most cases offers you an opportunity to rise to the top of the ladder. It is expected that if you spend a certain amount of time, or put in extra effort on a job, you ought to get promoted as often as possible till you get to the pinnacle of your career. For a business owner, the career path is not defined, as your rise to the top is solely dependent on how well your business does. If it crashes, you burn with it.

4 DEFINED PAY
Related to the above point is the fact that with your rise to the top of the corporate ladder, your pay is defined as you go along. In most corporate environments, there is a fixed salary scale which serves as a guide for payment. This is an advantage because it can help the employee plan and make adequate budget for the month under review. An entrepreneur in most cases does not have this advantage because his take home pay is dependent on the amount of effort put in to the business. Fluctuations in monthly income is usually the case.

5 SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT
This point is pretty much self explanatory. Imagine if everyone of us owned a business, who then would be the workers to carry out the running of said business? That being said, who then should be an entrepreneur and who should be a worker? We examine that in the next point.

6 NOT EVERYONE CAN START A BUSINESS
An entrepreneur is someone who has developed the strength of character and resolve of will to be a leader and a go getter in the business world. Not every one possesses the innate ability to own a business. Several people have tried to set up shop and failed at it, perhaps that explains why there are so many businesses that end up comatose.

7 SPECIAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
Most companies have special packages to see to their employees welfare. Such packages include leaves, paid vacations, as well as healthcare and child support. While it is not a hard and fast rule for all companies, there are many of such advantages in paid employment. For most start ups actually, such fringe benefits are not applicable. It is not only the case with start ups however, but even established business owners usually do not bother to claim such special benefits for themselves as most have to see to the running of their business enterprises daily.

8 NARROWER RANGE OF SKILLS NEEDED
As an employee, you are usually employed to fill a particular need. For example, you may be employed in accounts, IT, or admin. Hence, your specialization is only needed in your field. For a business owner however, and especially with start ups, they have to be proficient in a whole range of skills and abilities as they usually are solely responsible for running and ensuring the success of their business.

9 OPPORTUNITY TO DIVERSIFY
As an employee in an organization, you can decide to pursue other job opportunities if you are not satisfied with your lot in a company. You can even decide to augment your income with other sources such as a business by the side of your main employment. An entrepreneur however must better his lot within the confines of his occupation.

10 OPPORTUNITY FOR LEARNING
Last but not the least is that you have the opportunity to learn more about how organizations are run, as well as other aspects of the job that will come in handy if you do decide to start your own business later.

Just like anything in life, for every Zuckerberg there are thousands of failed Zuckerbergs. People only identify with success.

Being an employee is awesome if you are in the right organization. CBN governor, GM NNPC, Bank Managers, Investment banks manager's, etc. are employees. In the IT and Financial industries, some of the employees are multi-millionaires. Messi, Mikel, Drogba, etc are employees.

Entrepreneurship has been abused in Nigeria. The guy selling pure water in Lagos traffic is an entrepreneur hoping to be Dangote tomorrow until he dies a wretched rat.

It is good to have big dreams. But in Nigeria context, how many Dangotes exist? Just one. Entrepreneurship is like buying lottery ticket, there will be winner(s) and thousand if not millions of losers.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that everyone wants to be a blogger these days. Everyone wants to relocate to Banana island.

They recycle the same content thereby creating noise. It is difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. Some of these blogs are paradise for spam and virus-- one click, you are screwed.

slightlyMad:
he is a conditional permanent resident as far as i know, he will be back begging in 2 years when he tries to renew his green card

citizenship cannot be revoked, there is room for disagreement in marriages which can lead to divorce, i believe
/
Citizenship through naturalization (which applies to his status) can be revoked if:
1. Citizenship is obtained illegally.
2. Concealment of Material fact or willful misrepresentation
3. Membership or affiliation with certain organizations.

Although he is not there yet bc he has been only 2 years in USA.

The only way to pursue the case is through the court.

All you have to do is take the certificate, his SSN, name, etc.and all the immigration papers, go to court, file for divorce (per marriage through fraud). Make sure you fill in as much information as possible. The court will nullify the marriage or find out that it is fake. They will find him. By the way, how can you say that you cannot locate in? In this day and age? I find it difficult to believe.

They will revoke his green card or citizenship. And he will definitely find himself in a gulag or MMIA, Lagos.

But for some reason, I DON'T BELIEVE YOUR STORY.

Politics › Re: What Exactly Is The Job Of The National Security Adviser? by InvertedHammer: 9:24pm On Jan 24, 2016
Which part don't you understand?

National Security Adviser.

Is it the National security part? Or the Adviser?

Whatever it is supposed to mean, stand it upside down and you will get the true meaning in Nigeria. Why?
Because Nigeria has no intelligence gathering capabilities. They are still doing gossip and "peppersoup" joint level of gathering Intel. No database. You can call in a threat today to any government parastatal and go scotfree. Worst case scenario, they will rope some unfortunate fellows.
