LOL @ truckpusher!
Frustration?

I just came back from Nigeria 2 weeks ago. Boy oh Boy.
For you NIN, I say " sorry oo..take heart"

I now understand why people patronize drinking spots a lot in Nigeria....it is very difficult to
be sober and sane there...so they use liquor to calm their nerves.

Nigeria is the 20th saddest place to grow up in the world.
Life expectancy in Nigeria is 47yrs which is why most NIN live for the moment.
Did you say 401K, pension? NO! Some smart Alex will embezzle it and be given a lil slap on the wrist.

The truth is that both NID and NIN are frustrated about Nigeria.
Politics › Re: A Letter To Nigerians In Diaspora by InvertedHammer: 4:38am On Feb 14, 2013
Misconception!

What you don't realize is that NID are the ones developing Nigeria. Those houses you see in most cities and
believe that NIN don hammer actually were built by NID. If you check Western Union and Moneygram data, you
will be amazed at what percentage equivalent of Nigeria GDP that NID contribute to Nigeria every year.

If Nigeria is this bad with all the financial support coming from NID, I wonder what it would be if such
support is withdrawn.

Believe it or not, the little peace you enjoy in Nigeria today is being subsidized by NID.

I will take my State for an example...if you drive through Awka, most hotels, hostels, new houses
are owned by NID or politicians (in rare cases).

Business › Re: Partnership in business - Your Experiences by InvertedHammer: 9:46pm On Feb 10, 2013
Sagewood: Partnership can be a great way of achieving your business goals and developing real life skills.
Apart from the issue of trust, most Nigerians take business partnership like a personal business.
You can increase the chances of success if the partnership is run like a true business. People get
emotional and get carried away by the immediate events and fail to critically assess every/ any possible
issues, challenges, barriers, problems, loopholes, and opportunities.
The would-be partners should deliberate and agree on a "working document or rules of engagement" and get it
signed and notarized by an attorney (lawyer).
Most business partnerships fail because people refused to think about what the future may throw at them.
Life is a curve, so is running a business.
PURE TEXTBOOK!
Sounds more like a paragraph from a thesis than real life Nigeria experience.

Remember, there will never be any trust in partners in Nigeria.

Loss will even be better....because if the business progresses...the more paranoia kicks in:

If partner no murder you, im go poison you.

Documents or no documents...na person wey dey alive dey go court

Business › Re: Partnership in business - Your Experiences by InvertedHammer: 4:50pm On Feb 10, 2013
One important advice I got from a financial adviser/mentor about partnership is: DON'T DARE!!!

In Nigeria, the issues involved include but not limited to:

1. In the beginning, everything may be going well...but there is no long term good outlook.
2. If the business fails, you lose.
3. If the business progresses..how do you pull out if there exist inevitable conflicts?
Parting ways may be on sour note and in some cases deadly. For single guys/girls, it may
be a lot easier. But married partners may find out that instead of two people making decisions,
it becomes four people or three people (if one partner is still single)....disaster waiting to happen!

4. Interests may not be permanent and come with challenges
5. Most Nigeria business owners partners are constantly figuring out ways to con outsmart
customers/partners...a trial will convince you.

..and the issues go on....

Travel › Re: I'm Afraid Of Applying For A Us Visa Again by InvertedHammer: 3:50pm On Feb 04, 2013
mamathrice: Hello all. I need desperate advice.

Some might remember my story. Years ago, I went for a visa interview, denied I was pregnant and had my baby in the US. I paid all my bills and everything. When I tried to renew my visa, I was rejected twice. Both times I insisted I was not aware of my pregnancy. It has been over a year since my last interview and I am thinking of applying again. Am I wasting my time?

I went as far as to write to the US immigration people after the incident and they said I shouldn't take it personally, the consular officer has to use his discretion and that I can apply again.

What do you think? Will I be wasting my money and time? And if there's a chance I could be given a visa at all... What do I do if the old matter comes up? Insist on my story that I didn't know I was pregnant? Or just say I lied and am sorry?
Be informed that whatever information the US Embassy has on you will be stored in their database till "His" kingdom cometh. If you have the money, just keep applying. But keep in mind that you
are only playing a lottery. The Embassy will keep giving you diplomatic answers (like telemarketers) and expect you to figure it out.

The toughest question to answer in the interview: What evidence do you have to prove that you intend to return to Nigeria after you get to the US?
Nobody has an answer to this question. There is no right or wrong answer here.
Possible answers:
I have landed properties in Nigeria....so?
I have families in Nigeria...so?
I have a good paying job....so?
I bla bla bla....so?

This is where the VO's discretion kicks in.
However, if you have $1,000,000 cash (or large chunk of cash) in your bank account....Bingo!
WELCOME TO UNITED STATES!

The aim of shooting is to kill...if the victim survives, then his/her G(g)od is alive.
Culture › Re: Django Unchained = Inappropriate And Awkward? by InvertedHammer: 3:31pm On Jan 09, 2013
It is easy to be emotionally carried away after watching DJango.

But come to think of it, what has really changed? The part played by Samuel L. Jackson reminds me of GEJ, Okonjo Iweala, and other "house n...gz"

The two slaves entertaining Leonardo Caprio reminded me of Nigeria and Biafra.
The one slave eaten by dogs brings Ken Saro Wiwa and Dele Giwa to mind.

Psychologically we all are their slaves!

In doubt? Remember how Nigeria ministers and elites used to go to 'sing' for their master (US Ambassador to Nigeria) to curry favour as reported by Wikileaks.
If that's not real life "Sam.L Jackson" moves, tell me what is.

Nairaland General › Re: Let's Pray For Our Leaders And Not Insult Them In 2013 by InvertedHammer: 6:58pm On Jan 01, 2013

Praying is a waste of time....if the charlatans believe in prayers, they wont be carrying on the way they do.

The only prayers I will support is the one that pay them back 100 folds what they give to the masses.

Any leader that gives misery...poverty...premature death...illness... should not expect anything less.
Any leader that gives hope...peace...fulfillment....should not expect anything less.

Let them receive whatever they give.

All these I cite and conjure
Shemhamforash, Eheye, Ayscher, Weatta, Elohey, Hareny, Yechuateche, Hagedola,
Merof, Zarotey, Agla, Pedeny, Zye, Kotecha, Barach, Amym, Gedolym, Verachena,
