coogar: that's the twist about this whole thing.....

there's no job i have done that i wouldn't have coped with as a secondary school graduate - what i am trying to say is it would take the dumbest of a dimwit not to cope with any job regardless of his grade in the university. they make you go through all those hoops and when that dream job lands on your lap, you are basically checking the pressure and the temperature of a pump every 1 hour and you are getting paid £500 per day for it. tell a junior secondary school student to do that and he would certainly do it without stress.

that line of argument is a bit lame to claim no organisation would hire a dullard. every graduate who can read and write would cope in most organisations. 90% of the tasks are common sense. a bit of in-house training is included too so it's impossible for any graduate of any discipline not to cope with the tasks required. under the cover of this, applicants of all kinds slip through the system.
Aptitude tests and interviews are weed-out processes. The companies know that any f_khead can do the job.
But they want the best for their money. I have heard of new employees who go through all these rigorous processes
to get hired only to find out that their supervisor/bosses are dumb a_ses. You remember the Civil Defense boss
who couldn't give the website of NCDS? Do you think he got the job on merit? Can you imagine that the slowpoke is some
people's boss?

That's Nigeria...where unimaginable things happen.
Christianity Etc › Re: Funny Stories Pastors Tell In Church by InvertedHammer: 1:24am On Mar 09, 2013

Do you think Nigerians pay tithe because the bibles mandates them to do so?

OR

They see it as a way to bribe God...Or worse, to pay God to bring success in their lives?

I believe the latter is the case.

Givers never lack they say. So the motive for giving is to avoid lacking.

What a selfish bunch!
Is ur intention just to speak ill of the man of God ? Read his comment first before you ascribe what he never said to him. See below what he is telling you:
''To avoid such a sin, be very careful about your comments especially on what you do not understand. You must not speak any malicious or slanderous word against the Holy Spirit or His acts. Never ascribe what the Spirit is doing to the devil. Stop lying against the Holy Spirit by declaring He said what He never did''
Let's bridle our tongue !
God help us
Well, the bible warned us of fake prophets who will even perform miracles in the name of Jesus as well.
So, the burden of proof is on Adeboye to prove that he is of God.

Any pastor that chooses life of extravagance and opulence in comparison to downtrodden followers is a conman.

We have "Man of God" and and we have "Man of god"

Which one is Adeboye?

If violent demonstration against uncaring government is the hallmark of civilization, then no
country is civilized in the whole world. Every country has incidents of violent demonstrations
once in a while. People need to pop off.

When did blasphemy against the Holy Spirit become blasphemy against Adeboye?

Is Adeboye equating himself to the Holy Spirit? Isn't that in itself blasphemy?

For a grossly overpopulated country, there is no reason why the government should allow expatriates
to take positions that Nigerians could competently do. Blame your government (if there is any)

Try getting jobs in Indonesia, China or India as an expatriate

If you want to make money in Nigeria, you have to go at it the hard way.

You can go into importation of goods..but I will leave the wahala on that for another day.

The best approach is to buy heavy equipment for service delivery. For example, borehole drilling machine,
asphalt paver, roller, block-moulding machines. Once you have these in place, then you can
put your hustle on. Hustling in Nigeria with your certificate only will not cut it. You can
even buy a small passenger bus to guarantee daily bread while you hustle your way through.
No how, no how..you are sure you will get money for recharge card, feeding and minor expenses
while you wait for the real hammer. Eg. if daily return on your bus is N2000/day. That is N12,000/week
= N48,000/month (all things being equal--driver
wink wink wink)). This should sustain you while you learn the terrain.
If not, frustration alone will deny you the job. Abi, you no know say frustration dey show for face?

Liaise with government and local contractors and be a subcontractor, if need be. You will never
worry about money again.

MY POINT: Don't venture into Nigeria for business unless you have some alternative means
of income (no matter how small) to keep body and soul together.

U never see anything...go to the Universities. All those pretty babes you see (no exceptions!) a good number of the lecturers
boink them at least once. Sabi book no sabi book no reach am. It is called infringe benefits.
If you fail (or if he fails you), you will pay for the hotel room, buy his drinks and provide the ultimate pleasure
for your grade to be upgraded.

Ok. Not to burst your bubbles...Is it that the barber has no skills or the razor is blunt?

I will blame Nigeria schools too. They do not prepare their graduates with job search
skills in terms of how to write good resume's (CV), interview skills, etc.

I was perusing through some desktop files in a cybercafe' one time and unluckily read
one lady's CV. I had to call her and implored her not to submit that CV to any company as it would
earn her automatic disqualification. I have seen CVs written with crossed-out words, erased
words and worst, words typed over a white-out portion. Goodness gracious! The packaging was
just outrageous.

If the person doesn't get the job, he/she will blame it on nepotism, uncle in the village,
witches and wizard.

A good number of job-seekers in Nigeria lack proper 'packaging' and I blame the Universities
for this trend.
Politics › Re: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Mentality by InvertedHammer: 12:14am On Mar 05, 2013
OP:

YOUR PROBLEM IS THAT YOU DID NOT FOLLOW THE RULES

Rule 1: Fake it Till You make it.

Do not under any circumstances let them (even your family members) know your financial prowess.
Nigeria respects "big manism" which is why most people would earn N5m and expend N4.5m out of it
to buy nice cars (preferably SUVs). The remaining N500k will be used to maintain.
Your car will open doors for you.

Rule2: Be wary of hangers-on and sycophants.

They could be yuor close relations or old-time friends. You know..the ones that feed you with the
latest gist in town. They have all business ideas in the whole world, they know how every wealthy
neighbour made their money, they know the latest joints...only one problem--they are broke.
Stay away from these leeches.

Rule 3: Stay away from your peers.
Try and mingle with older, experienced and successful folks. Peers would lead you astray out of ignorance,
jealousy or envy..choose one.

Rule 4: Take the word "borrow" out of your dictionary.

Do not lend and do not hope to borrow. If at any time you run out of fund, enter the next available flight
and go back for more hustle.

Rule 5: GIRLS! GIRLS!! GIRLS!!!
Need I say more on this? Most are lovepeddlers. 1 BB, 1 Brazilian hair and shoes...you will be down N200k already.
Add merrymaking and "oringo" to the equation, then you will understand the saying that " e too sweet na im dey kill pass".
Stay away! If konjee bugs you, use your hands afterall ejaculation is the zenith of boinking.

Ngwakwe: So you think CIA caused the massacre of innocent Nigerians during Miss World and the Danish Cartoon of Mohammed.

It was all about ideology and religious extremism.

Don't believe all Conspiracy theories from revisionist who never invented anything to make the world a better place.
If you go for job interview, the company finds the best fit for the job and offers the applicant the position.
In similar vein, extreme ideology may not be forced upon any group. But the penchant for violence could be "covertly" encouraged and
funded to achieve a particular objective. Any expose' thereafter would just be sacrificed on the altar of conspiracy theory.

Billyonaire: If you wanna make a kill in Nigeria, make sure you have funds to buy at least 5% of any company stock and be a Director, anything less in this clime doesnt just make sense financially. I advise people to get brokers in USA and trade with established Stocks in USA using Merryl Edge, Charlesschwab or Etrade, simply the best way to sleep while your funds keep growing.

I still think NSE is not fully developed for a long term/ "buy and hold" strategy. Can one swing-trade NSE?
Any input would be highly appreciated. This is a game I know very well...I am using my own algorithm.
I know that I could make a kill if I apply it to NSE but fraud and lack of transparency is the bane.

Pls NLS, how do you buy stocks in Nigeria? I have heard of terrible stories
about brokers in Nigeria. I wanted to open a brokerage account but the
complaints of shares certificates per non-delivery, fraud, etc. scared me off.

Do you have any reliable broker(s) that you have used? Please do share.

A resounding YEEEEEEEEEES!

1. All the silly comments are therapeutic ...more like comic relief. We need breaks sometimes
It may sound infantile, but I like those "1st to comment, dancing azonto" crazy comments.

2. I get a lot of information on NL about cars, real estate, etc. For instance, the other day
someone mentioned a platform where one can day-trade online in NSE. Where else can you get
such info? This is a good place for those "Computers" in higher institutions to practice
their trade. Don't ask me what "Computers" do. Oh well..for the uninitiated, "Computers" are
those students that one will call "human info superhighway in the campus".

My only concern is that NL is addictive.

All I can say is Kudos to Seun for NL
