Nigerians and fake humility. grin

What’s the essence of having achievements if you can’t talk about it without some people being intimidated.

If you don’t want to feel intimidated by others achievement, face your life squarely and strive for excellence in whatever you do. It’s not too late to get that certificate, it’s not too late to start that online course. There are lots of free online courses you can engage in while still waiting for job feedbacks (For GT’s that are unemployed). Keep working to improve yourself daily, look at the core competencies of your discipline, are you on the right track? Improve your employability skills. That you are not working right now does not mean your life has to be stagnant.

There’s no late comer in the league of successful people. Some start early and slow while some start early and fast. Some start late and slow while some start late and fast. Just trust the process and keep improving yourself, your lucky break is around the corner.

Lastly, stop comparing yourself with others, comparison sometimes affect your self esteem/worth. Moreover, anyone can be behind a moniker and claim to be whatever. Do not feel attacked or threatened, you are doing better than most.

Cheers.
Good lecture.

An American will write a book, "How I Made my First Billion", people will rush it and it becomes a bestseller. A Nigerian will say or write on same, they will say he is a braggart.

Well, you never told us what info you had in the binding agreement, so you can't blame us for assuming that the " reason for delay" was part of it.
Fair enough. Ok, it was not part of it.

Only @Xfire can solve this conundrum w.r.t. NNPC. Some organizations I worked for issued APL (albeit Provisional) before medicals, others did medicals before APL. It is not cast in stone.
xfire confirmed earlier in this thread than APL comes before medicals.

As in ehen.

Who doesn't know that the "reason" the OP is asking is a "slight information" from the "binding agreement"?
Oga Jarus come use style turn simple question to Rocket Science. It's well o grin grin
The reason he asked was "why the delay". I never said I had any info about cause of delay. My last post here on the subject before someone mentioned my name today was, multiple sources said it will take longer than we earlier envisaged, which automatically ruled out the "latest September" update before it and the undisclosed one (which was only an affirmation of latest September).

Why the new delay? I have no idea and I never said I had idea, overtly or covertly.

@Gbriels come and see oo.

Na joke oo, make nobody come carry the matter for head oo, abeg oo
If you followed this thread without mischief you would see that things happened in the last one week that altered all previous information.

The guy asked for a "reason for the delay" and I said I (and most people I know) have no idea about it. I don't know when I ever told anyone I have binding agreement about the "reason for delay".

Oga Jarus. Lol. Even you.

To be frank if some people see better 9 to 5 they will flee thier entrepreneur story.

I tried he side hustle before with normal 9 to 5. I quit the side bustle cos it wasnt worth it at all, when I am using salary to pay salary of others.
lol. First 3 years of the side hustle, na my salary I take finance the business, including paying salaries. Although the business now pays salaries of the staff. We still never make profits. Me I have not even started collecting salaries from the business yet.

Doing a "9-5" job in a place like lagos is so frustrating.
Traffic will help you extend the "9pm to 10 or 11pm"
You wake up again around 3 or 4 am in the morning and the cycle continues like that.

Some including Saturdays**
So an entrepreneur in Lagos will fly over the traffic?
CareerRe: Why Do Entrepreneurs Talk Down On 9-5? by Jarus(m): 8:07am On Sep 19, 2019
I don't have any problem with entrepreneurship/business. It is very good. But people should stop talking down 9-5 jobs when encouraging entrepreneurship.

There is nothing that says you cannot lead a decent middle class to upper middle class life with salaried jobs if you put your salaries into good use.

This is my 11th year of 9-5 job and on 3rd house. All from salaries.

I have not said you can't get that from entrepreneurship in same timeframe but people should respect the choice of others.

Not everyone wants to become a billionaire like Dangote.

I have a 9-5 job and a side business. All the turnover (not even profit) I have made from it in 6 years is less than my 3 month gross pay from 9-5 job. Imagine leaving 9-5 job for that. The hunger ehnnn.

Cuz Masters have no regards to slaves

And please there's nothing like 9-5 in Nigeria.

Lagosians 4am-9pm
other state 7:30 - 5pm...
One-man-business: 7am.. They decide when you close.

Try get to your office by 9 and see
9-5 is a fixed term for corporate job. Doesn't mean some people dont do 7am to 5pm in other countries too.

Just to confirm the rumour going on....Nnpc APL disbursement has been postponed till sometime early next year o...was able to maintain contact with one of the men in my panel(27)...GT July 10th 9am....been calling him once in a while since after the interview day to get updates ( don't ask me how I got his contact cos I no fit tell you) but what he kept telling me was " o boy I'm not the one in charge of matters o"......just called him this evening after hearing rumours of the supposed delay and baba all but confirmed it.....in his exact words.." O boy e be like say the thing don't get small delay for now o...focus on your current job for now...hopefully before the end of January 2020 things should be rounded up"....
chai cry...i first think of my life for like 20minutes after i drop call....see the way them just dey waste local man's time angry...
oga Jarus...you sure say no be wetin your source talk be this?

My 2cents: Forget NNPC for now...continue applying for other jobs or if you have one already...no dey disrespect your boss o..dey think say NNPC go soon call you....at least see things through properly till the end of the year b4 you make a life changing decision....a bird in hand they say is worth more than 1000 in the bush that you haven't even seen.

Peace
Multiple sources in the last 2 days are confirming next year. If it comes this year, better. Otherwise, it is advisable that people focus on their current job and put NNPC on the side.
