This sort of thing is bound to happen in Construction companies from time to time. It was mentioned that those targeted were the aged, unfit and those due for retirement. At the risk of sounding inhumane, I'll love to ask you all, would you love to have a 59 year old driver who falls asleep at the wheel? Construction is a line of work that is physically demanding. I remember when I was doing my SIWES in Abuja, I was assigned a couple of workers for a job, and there was this old carpenter. He promptly disappeared! I went in search of him, only to discover him fast asleep, concealed in the flower bed of a neighbouring building! He begged me not to tell the P.M, as he might be given the boot. As a manager of people, you have to make tough decisions sometimes. In addition, these mass layoffs are accompanied by many millions of naira in disbursements as payoffs, benefits of all kinds. Believe me, if those guys were not totally unproductive, it may be cheaper to keep them on, Except if JBN refuses to pay them their dues. Also, if a construction coy hits hard times, downsizing is the first way to go. JBN too dey do effizzy, sha. Dem too dey burn fuel, dey move up and down. I'll not dispute that they were paid in crude oil during the IBB era, Another reason ''Baba'' must not return!!! ![]() |
@ poster, You obviously love at least a few things about this guy, otherwise, 5 months, ? have you tried having a nice little chat with him? if you want to pitch your tent with him for life? Can you imagine when there are school fees to pay, rent to settle, other commitments, and, if you are wise and have the opportunity, investments? I know of a man who sold his wife's land behind her back, squandered funds she gave him to purchase a house, didn't care for the children, Do you really want to be such a wife? Use your head, pray, whatever! Just come up with an answer fast, before it's too late!!! |
I just took a look at the source myself. How can a report dated 2008 refer to the 2010 independence day bombing? Prophecy? ![]() Confusing, |
(Bulb Lights above head) OH!!!!!! Now I got it! First Experience is for HIV NEGATIVE PEOPLE!!!!! Sorry Guys, I mean, If you were Found to be Positive, You won't need a SECOND test, 'cept to check if tha' motha' of all miracles just occurred!!!! Never Mind, Didn't mean to be such a , I'm negative, though, and fiercely faithful to my spouse, who is my first and only, (know what I mean?) I don't even return a smile, mebbe the virus could be airborne!!!! ![]() |

WOW!!!! Well, I told my wife during our courtship, NO HOUSEMAID!!!! It's almost two years since we wedded, and she's had to sacrifice a lot, Left her business for months, Now She's put her foot down, started her business again, what do I do? BUY HER A WASHING MACHINE!!!! ![]() |
Blackmail, ke? When IBB was in power, did he need to blackmail people to submission? He shamed them (Uncle Tai and others could tell you more about that), or arranged for some plastique (or ''Charlie Four'') to arrive in the mail. Blackmail ?!!! Dele Giwa's peeps would wish IBB ''blackmailed'' their breadwinner! Vatsa's widow would've opted for blackmail any time!!!!!!!! Blackmail, SSSSHHHHHIIIOOO! You never start! Wait o! did I catch a whiff of sympathy seeking in the air? is the ex-tyrant actually asking us to pity him? US!!!! When did we ever matter to him? ![]() |
Age really means nothing if a player still performs, so the argument shouldn't be about age, but FORM. I remember a certain Nigeria - Spain match 12 years ago, and what a certain Yekinni did in that match. I remember Fashanu commented that if Yekinni plays well, he doesn't give a fig whether he's 39 or 59! If Bro Joe keeps playing well for a good club, by all means invite him to SE camp! If he win jersey, give am! Abi, werrin? You pple don't know who else reads these threads beside Nigerians. ![]() |
Hey All, Before you nuke NL, I want to just point out something: God is not mocked! He knows all, Even what you did last summer ![]() The men who happen to be more dedicated to Him (or appear so) notwithstanding, He remains God! He ain't nobody's mugu. we all have no secrets stashed where He can't see, That said, I'm sure no pastor will receive a bag of loot if he knows it's stolen money, weelllll, I think so (am I NUTS?!) anyways the money no leave this world. God values something behind giving, the LOVE behind it, and TRUTH!!! (that's right!) '' God is Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in TRUTH'' ------- JESUS I hope we'll all get our act right, 'cause, with God, there are no curtains!!! HE'S BEHIND THE SCENES!!!! AT ALL TIMES!!!! |
Goodbye Tomorrow, starring Keppy Ekpenyong Bassey and Hilda Dokubo, about a couple seperated by HIV / AIDS. I don't think anyone's mentioned that one. Anyways, the REAL classics are mostly pre - nollywood. Aye Jaiyesinmi Mosebolatan Taxi Driver I rate Living in Bondage as pre - nollywood, too. Cheers. |
Guys, Stop dissing ''Jym'' ''IIke'' already!!! A lot of eccentricities are allowed among so-called ''celebrities'' these days, if they can bear the repercussions. If he beats up someone, he shd be sued!!! or let him be set up for a beatdown by some area boys or even militants, so he can see what it's like to be on the receiving end. Abi ![]() Still, I'll LOOOVE to see him on a Hollywood set trying to beat lay into Vin Diesel or Mickey Rourke!!!! He'll come back to Naija in an Iron Lung! ![]() |
Y'know, Guys, Of a truth, there's no tribe in Nigeria that does not have corrupt leaders. In fact, to qualify for election, you have to be corrupt!!! Ah-ah! I am a yoruba man too, but this I must say, there is no nation born out of Nigeria's break-up that will not have a measure of conflict. Even if/when Biafra is actualised, Ralph Uwazuruike knows his problems would've just begun!!! Abi no be so? Will he assume he will become the first Biafran President? What will Chimaroke Nnamani, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Sam Egwu, Orji Uzor Kalu, Great Ogboru, F.A.N (you know him, now?), and others be doing? selling ice cream at polling booths? Only in the Arewa/Gamji will we see quick settlement and compromise, as they respect their Royal Fathers to a good degree. And then they will have a tough time looking for resources (both natural and human) to run things!!! We should look at having a confederacy of constitutionally independent states, with a far less powerful centre than we have now, and which will allow a free market with Government Agencies only in regulatory/advisory roles to the various Governments. The solution I proffer, some may agree, is not all that far-fetched. I expect some ICBMs from N'landers of northern extraction. ![]() |
So the Country will go bankrupt because Oil price is dropping, eh? When the price was not a problem, did the nation prosper? While I think the point being made by the post is salient, The words used are rather ambiguous. Bankrupt, as in the state of inability to pay runnung costs and debts? Well I don't think so. The last time I checked, Oil wsn't the only thing we can export. The truth is, our so-called ''leaders'' are blind!!! They think the future of themselves and their children is all that matters. If they can't see that the whole world is trying to get off the oil consumers' bandwagon, God help us when the price falls below $5 a barrel!!! Na dat time we go know watz up!!! |
Posted by: matiltom_d Jonathan to me is kinda smart. Or better still,he sleeps with '48 Laws of Power' under his pillow, and his favourite law i presume is "Crush your Enemies Totally". I think he should choose the enemies to crush, and the ones to win over. Some friends are really nothing but enemies in the making. GJ's actions might make up the minds of some of his ''friends'' to become enemies. All it takes is for them to feel rather insecure, especially with the drive to retain power in the north. Naija politics get as e be. ![]() |
Guys, All these organizations no be Fada Xmas na, All promo na to chop common man money, abi no be so? As I neva see any of my person wey neva win any promo, de tin wey me I see be say na fake!!! I no dey do any stupid promo, na wetin person chop na in dey run in belle. The man wey go sue the empty people, de queshon wey dem go ask am na: '' ol'boy, who force you waste your money for de tin?'' if e fit answer that one, E don win. Make e come run commot Naija B'cos of Kidnappers!!! ![]() |
When I saw the link on the front page, it read ''Three Nigerians Elected, '' Interested, I clicked on it, hoping to read another soul-lifting ''Obama Story''. Now all I see are people insulting one another along tribal lines. The Guys that were elected were not elected because they're Biafrans or Nigerians, otherwise David Mark or Dimeji Bankole might've been British MPs by now, though I doubt that, as Brits don't take too kindly to corruption! No, they were elected because they are seen as qualified and trustworthy by their constituents. I long for a time when this will be the case in Naija. @Poster, Sir, your friend's son was born in the UK. He's British. The Brits are free. We're not. Even the success of our ambassadors is cause for conflict! I shudder at what the future holds for this nation. I was born after the Biafran War. I'm now a Husband and father. My point? new genetrations are arising who can bridge the tribal divide. If only tainted threads such as this don't poison their minds! Please give me a good reason to believe in this State called Nigeria. I hate to imagine Gadaffi may be right, |
I won't be to hasty to judge Oshiomhole on this one. Think about it: he invites IBB and David Mark, then invites June 12 proponents to speak!!! The ''boycotters'' were too hasty in their action. They ought to have stayed on and taken their part in the public shellacking IBB got! I imagine if Baba 70 were still to be alive, he would've been the ''guest artiste''!!! ''Who kill Dele Giwa, Na BABA, if you like make you put GIDA, Na BABA'' ![]() |
