rikkyjen:lol . . . who let Rikky out of the The Colts have the easiest schedule of all the AFC wild carders, they could take advantage and have a good chance at the postseason, hehe but the football gods will ensure Peyton has an early summer ![]() A-40, looks like hope is renewed in Dallas, I hope it lasts for your sake and Bawo is right about Bratt. Someone reckoned he's saving all his fatal, agonising INTs for the postseason I'm more than inclined to agree. And how about Matt Cassel! back2back 400yd passing games ![]() |
Doyin, I hear you oh jare, forget wall st., e go betta for us by the special, impartial grace of God and the GR is doing well, thanks for asking sweetie ![]() And your analysis of the McNabb-Reid situation hits the mark. Well I guess McNabb had it coming . . . after starting the yr hot he's lost all the steam. But to do so in the middle of a playoff hunt? highly questionable. I say they're both done in Philly after this season. |
bigmodo:ROTFLOL . . . bigmodo I will pray & fast for you! you must get to this America oh! ![]() |
doyin13:LOL honey you can't slap a label on this package . Reps suck, Dems suck, liberals suck, conservatives suck too. I belong to the close to extinct race of humans called "Common Sense People" . . . if the Automakers get a bailout, who's going to come next? the retail industry? the grocery stores? greedy CEO's making 10million a yr in bonuses want to pinch my already leaking wallet for change? Making useless American cars that nobody wants to buy, abeg file for Chapter 11 jor While Bawo is dreaming up a Bears SB run, I dream of being in those current sessions on the Hill, carrying an AK47, with hard rubber bullets containing ata rodo, . . . raises the gun: "now ask for me money just one more time CEO . . . " |
hehe A-40 lef am . . . Bawo abeg carry on, it is good to dream, fantasizing never did nobody wrong . . . until the rude awakening when reality bites you in the butt and wakes you up! ![]() |
The Houston bandwagon has stalled their " and I heard some whining is coming out of detroit 'bout fewer FGA's for Rip & co since AI's entrance. Everyone knows Iverson is a SHOOTER!!! so you knew EXACTLY what you were getting when you traded for him so what's the beef? Nuggets are rolling . . . they might actually become relevant now, and imho, Carmello is highly overrated and the hell is wrong with the Hornets? they are .500 at 5-5 ![]() |
The lakers are still the team to beat thoughunfortunately you're right they are afterall the western defending champs. and by the way, na swagger we go chop? besides you never hear say ![]() A-40, I hear say Cuban is in legal trouble for insider trading . . . . geez, nuthin is going well for the Mavs |
Now that the Lakers have lost, rationality can now return to the building ![]() If we haven't learned anything past few seasons, we've learned that streaks mean little come playoff time. Houston won 22 games in a row last season . . . . that did not help them during their 1st rd exit. Celtics dominated the season but Atlanta almost sent us home. The playoffs are a whole different ballgame - all about match-ups. In other news the Knicks are 6-4 . . . not bad so far, looks like d'antoni found a way to get the guys to show up. |
Bawo wetin happen to your boys? they didn't have breakfast? of all teams the reeling Packers spanked the "ferocious" Bears? A-40 congrats on the win . . . . but scoring 14 measly points will not be enough to beat the elite teams. But beating Washington must be an ego-booster for the 'Boys. and how about dem Titans 10-0 I'll be cheering for them to go undefeated, a very tough feat. |
bawomolo:gee . . . I wonder what that reason could be ![]() and wetin the yoruba boy do you wey make you say dem go cut am loose? |
Thrilling OT loss yesterday . . . . gosh can those players stop getting foolish penalties that cost us games? Cassel threw for 400yds Anyways, this weekend attractions: Den vs Atl - I expect Atlanta to improve to 7-3, they have been one of the top suprises this yr Bal vs Giants - I guess it's going to be 9-1 Det vs Panthers - Carolina should dismiss the pussies very easily Philly vs Cincy - The eagles cannot let this easy opponent slide by if they want to remain in the playoff hunt Chicago vs GB - Chicago should win, but with Rexy on the field I wouldn't take that to the bank Hous vs Indy - The Colts will not have an easier game all yr long, this should be an easy W at home Titans vs Jax - Go TITANS!!!! Keep that streak alive! Chargers vs Steelers - As long as the INT demons have been exorcised from Bigben, they should win this at home. Cowboys vs Washington - Very important game that will affect playoff standing or tie-breaker over wildcard slot. I have no pick here, may the better team win! CLE vs BUF - why is this on MNF? I hope the Bills lose - as A-40 would say na "division bad belle" ![]() |
I am suprised at the 4-3 Hornets - I picked them to win the most games out west. They're not looking nearly as sharp as they did last yr. Well lets see how the season progresses. Also suprised at the 3-5 76ers . . . I thot the addition of Brand woulda had an immediate & undeniable impact And looks like the Clippers move for Baron Davis is a bust. 1-7 and Dunleavy feuding with Davis does not bode well for them at all. A-40, geez your Mavs are in big trouble. I think big changes need to be made by trading deadline if Cuban wants to make the playoffs & go deep. |
Lai,
@jesoul, what do u mean by universe will right itself, lol,
ah ah you don't know? The universe being right = Celtics winning & lakers losing , Patriots winning, RedSox winning, you know, these types of things make for a perfect world ![]() |
By the way, it looks like the Ron Artest cancer has spread thruout the Houston team . . . http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=281112021note to Houston: being "tough" doesn't mean you act like thugs, it means you win big games against big teams ![]() |
Good to see Oden back and surviving a game without an injury Those Hawks are looking good. However no team can consistently hit 3pters at 60% against quality teams to win. They remind me of the hot n smoking Trailblazers who started incredible last yr . . . we all know how they finished the race. Celtics need to to tie up their boot straps and play better. Tough task to do so every night but hey that's why they're getting paid millions of dollars. Lakers are looking unstoppable thus far emphasis on looking. I already spoke to the jazzman and he said not to worry the universe will soon right itself . . . . lol |
KunleOshob:Okay thanks for clearing that up. I still think that both issues are very different bones that need to be cracked differently and seperately. Unknown to most christians presenting the bible(with it's many glaring flaws) as the undiluted word of God (even when here is no evidence God had a hand or directed it's compilation) is doing more harm to the christianity than good. Thanks for bringing the point back up, it got lost somewhere. This is of course YOUR opinion on the matter. As for me I look at the OT and it does me good. - I see a no-nonsense God, who demands that His people be holy just as He is holy. - I see a God of love and a God of wrath, A God of mercy and a God who metes out Justice and vengeance - I see a God who hates sin and the sinner and this is what's so incredible about Jesus . . . even in our fallen, sinful, wretched state, God though He hates sin, still loved us so much to send His son to die for us! This is what makes the gospel so much more incredible and beautiful! The problem is people have dreamt up a romantic "God" that is only loving and kind and merciful . . . when the bible is bursting with pages that teach about the "consuming fire" that is also our God, His wrath and justice. Once we get rid of our happy-happy God then we can begin to make sense of many OT events. Gotta run now, but will hopefully be back to discuss further. |
hehe you know wetin the bible sef talk: Psalm 141:5 Let a righteous man strike me, it is a kindness; let him rebuke me, it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. ![]() I am well oh jare. My faith is being tested in ways it never has. So remember me in prayers! that this too shall pass, quickly! ![]() |
. . . . . . . . . . waaaayyyy tooooo quiet in here ![]() Hope everyone is doing well. Phemmy, Gamine & Analytical glad you enjoyed the poem I'll post more sometime soon. And OLAADEGBU, the "Directions Home" was pretty cool.Gamine how is the "unlearning" going? ![]() Phemmy praise God for your sister. By the grace of God she will continue to grow stronger, and live to declare the glory of God. Amen. CoolStuff4real - the "prophetic technology" if not anything, definitely sounds cool ![]() |
and if Chris is still lingering around here somewhere sorry I got lost somewhere in the middle of our convo. Don't sweat it 'bout apologizing I didn't take any offense whatsoever and I hope I didn't cross you negatively either. I certainly do hope to have the pleasure of engaging you sometime again. Cheerios! |
This thread has degenerated into a "bash Pilgrim" party, sista Pilgrim can I bash too? Anyways Kunle, you've sidestepped from your original line of dispute (and please correct me if I'm misquoting you): --Your first post stated that whole portions of the bible (esp the OT) "misrepresent" God and are therefore men's biased opinions parading as the word of God, errors and hence don't belong in the bible. --This is VERY different from discussing translations errors when moving from greek to english to yoruba or ebonics or whatever. My 3yr old niece is even cognizant of the fact the words frequently don't translate accurately and perfectly over language lines. Discussing "translation problems" is worlds & light years away from saying portions of the bible, certain stories in the OT are errors and don't belong in the bible. I just wanted to point that out n make sure it's crystal clear. |
"Brady back with Pats, works out in training room" http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3696326 The best news I've heard all day ![]() |
I'm more suprised by the 5-0 Hawks . . . they play the Celtics tomorrow. Should be a very interesting game, they almost upset the Cs last playoffs. One of the downsides to being the reigning champs is that every team wants to beat you so they bring their A-game when they play the Celtics and then they go right back to sucking afterwards . . . this will be an even tougher season for the men in green. |
@Jesoul Well maybe in the long-term but this Rodgers dude has been very unconvincing it would take him some time to fill Favre's shoes. The Boys would bounce back i hope
Actually he started the season pretty good, he came out slinging TD's like it was nuthin. It was after his injury things started to decline. It's his 'rookie' yr, I expect him to get better as time goes. bawomolo:hehe lol . . . Onyine believed at the start of the season . . . . ask her how that's working out for the Texans Infact me I believed last SB, that didn't work out for the Pats either . You can't have a one-sided offense . . . you saw the fate of the Eagles on sunday, running 2 rushing plays on 3rd n 4th down and being stopped with just a few yrds to go, your boy Westbrook really messed up big time - or maybe I should give more credit to the Giants Defense ![]() |
Lol @ "sos" . . . only 4 days and you're already losing weight? ![]() |
Bawo, ROTFLOL . . . . poor Rexy take am easy on the guy now The Titans are still undefeated - who woulda guessed this coming into the season?! I hope they keep this streak going. They seem like cool dudes. Rikky, has come back to open mouth again ehn? Colts are still NOT going anywhere this season, a couple of shaky wins ain't changing that fact sweetheart . A-40, this was your week off to stave off the pain of losing . And I think the Packers need not regret ousting Favre. Favre can be great, but he has been known to throw away playoff games by reckless interceptions. Please they need to start rebuilding with Rodgers.and I hope we destroy the Jets come thursday ![]() |
Pilgrim, you try sef no be small answer that post. I saw it and just shook my head and moved on. When God was handing out patience I musta been standing at the back of the line and you in front! lol . . . keep it up. |
*long sigh* my dear Chris I dislike when people think what is to be gained is me agreeing to what you think happened.Nope not my goal. A productive discussion is not where all parties agree . . . it is one where progress is made and there is some common ground to build from. Right now we're at an impasse because you're asking me to explain things, I would, but I would be using the very same bible that you don't believe in or ascribe any authority to. So what's the point? ![]() Since I'm going to be told anyways "the bible is flawed . . . written by man . . . biased . . . etc" Nevertheless I still think you're a cool dude and I hold on to the hope that one day you will see the light. |
Chrisbenogor: you know I was wary of going down this path with you because I know regardless of what I say, you've already got your mind made up First you presumed they were innocent, I showed you they weren't. Now its "why did those things qualify as evil in God's sight" & "weren't the Isrealites doing the same things"? I could answer you but I won't, because it won't make a difference and I dislike conversating where I know no profit will be gained. *sighs* I can't make sense to you Chris no matter what I say, because you're not really looking for an answer. You have so much disdain toward God and the bible that it will cloud your reasoning and prevent you from seeing and understanding God and the bible beyond the surface and beyond the limits of human reasoning. What else can I say? ![]() |
doyin13:hehe you already know! Infact He has scrolls of statistics and records that no man prior to or after Him has been able to come close to matching or breaking . . . |
hate ke? nah honey there's not an atom of hate in my body I'm just calling it like I see it! lol abi you no think say Pittsburgh are going to put the STEEL in Steelers in Peyton's behinders? ![]() and why you wan desecrate this thread by mentioning the Pacers please no further mentions of taboos like Pacers, Knicks, Rikkyjen etc . . . ![]() Abeg me I only get 1 messiah - named neither Brady nor Obama - His name is JESUS!!! ![]() |
Chrisbenogor:It seems you've assisted me in answering your own question. What made you assume in the first place that the people of Jericho were 'innocent'? Infact the scriptures remark many many times that an Isrealite king or the people relapsed from following God and "did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. The nations that God commanded the Isrealites to destroy were not 'innocent' before God! they were evil and committed unthinkable atrocities - including sacrificing their own children in the fire, burning them alive, raping women, killing and fighting with their neighbors - these people were far from 'innocent'. And when you take into account a God is perfectly holy, that hates sin and said He will pour out His fierce wrath on sinners - does it now seem so far-fetched He carried out His holy judgement on the guilty parties? but the good news is God has given us a new way since the coming of Jesus. We are now under grace not that fierce wrath & judgement because Jesus died for our sins, stood in our place and received God's wrath for us, that made us forever right with God. This is the gospel brotha. A holy and just God, who punishes sin- as we see in the OT - has now forgiven us because of Jesus and His sacrifice. |
If Kunle or Chris are feeling adventurous, I would appreciate short quick answers to the below questions ![]() JeSoul: |
