it is almost too late to discuss these things after marriage. these issues are best discussed and agreed before saying I do. personally i cant stand grumpy or secretive people. i don't enjoy stressed people around me so i try my possible best to avoid causing stress to the person i will need for the next 50yrs.  she has one heart. why wear and tear it speedily?

in our house, we have had joint accounts even before we married ( i would add nobody is allowed )to make any single withdrawal over £5k without telling). that is not to say we don'thave have our individual accounts.  it must be open and accessible at all times.

no private letters too. i open her mails and she mine. no email address we both don't have access to.  most people will shout privacy.  my question is allow someone into your life if you want to keep being private?.  the hard work i see in relationships is waiting for someone male/ female who is worthy of that trust.  

most people will trust you if you create an open non threatening atmosphere. by Gods grace that is what i believe i have as we say i am in your life for a very long time get used to it. try be a great friend of your partner it helps

Anyone who has the guts to assault armed military/police men needs to have his/her head examined. Ask yourself how you would have behaved in her situation. My guess is that you certainly would have allowed the “mad men” have their way. Even in the so called civilized societies, you cannot assault an officer of the law and go scot-free. All what the ratings applied on her, in military parlance, was “minimum force”.

guys, in my opinion if you have a cool,calm and understanding wife always run most ideas through her because she will pick strenght and weakness you will never see as a man.   this doesn't come easy. you must earn the trust of a person before they begin trust you with info.

There is much to the condemnation of Nigeria than just the social impact of what happened to the lady.  A lot of Nigerians have a glamourized view of European countries and America.  To them Nigeria is a sorry land and its people are bad.  From their unglorified thrones in capital cities in Europe and America these idiots fail to see that humanity generally need to evolve and improve our social contact skills and kindness to one another.  It is not a American problem or a European problem or a Nigerian problem, it is a global problem.

I live in US and when a black person is brutalized and killed or unfairly sent to prison for a crime he has not commited you don't hear it on our forum boards and if it appears it is a silent criticism and the buffons cower and shiver in their skin cautious not to over criticize and be deported from their host country.  Justice should be demanded on account of humanity, not on the background of Nationality.  

When Sean Bell was murdered few months ago how many Nigerians went on the outcry and condemned USA?

When the police officers that killed him were set free, how many Nigerians condemned USA?  

There was a 5yr old boy in Florida some years back that was tasered, how many of us went on an outcry and condemned the Florida government?

Stillwater, do you get my point?   If its not good in Nigeria for a innocent citizen to be treated the way this lady was treated, then it is not good in USA for any person to be brutalized, much more murdered in cold blood.  Everyday on CNN you see a iReporter clip of someone getting victimized by police and yet you never hear any outcry from these USA worshippers who are quick to condemn their own fatherland.

The staying at home to look after children argument.

Please take time to read this argument properly before jumping to conclusions. I do sometimes believe that in some cases It is not always in the children's best interest than mum stays at home indefinitely to look after the kids.

If mum gas been "forced" to be a stay at home mum giving up a good job simply because her husband has threatened to divorce her and she is doing it against her will, then she wont be in the right state of mind emotionally to be the best she can be. She will in time become resentful and bitter.

Stay at home mums are sometimes isolated at home with their children thus depriving the kids of social skills especially if there are no other children in the vicinity. At children's parties you can easily spot the independent kids from the housewife kids. The housewife's kids are the ones who cry when someone new enters the room!

Your stay at home mum housewife generally speaking has no time to read or familiarise herself with what is going on in the world outside of the price of nappies & SMA because she is busy tending to all the needs of the home. Then she stands the risk of losing her husband anyway to the bright 23 year old first class graduate "IT consultant" as she seems more interesting and intelligent than the frumpy one at home. (there is no point dressing to the nines each morning when you wake up if all you will be doing is snapping egusi seeds and adding scoops of milk to bottles)

From my experience I find that I work harder at home than at work. . . . At work you can delegate and plan your workload at home you can't delegate to anyone especially if oga insists on the no housegirl policy & he wont help with any housework. At work I look at the clock and look forward to going home to see my family. I get involved in all the childrens activities and the whole family talks & plays from the moment we get in until bedtime.

I love my job and the people I work with and this is a part of my life that makes me a complete person. I also love the fact that I am able to contribute to my families well being.
