Have they done a structural study on the Murtala Bridge to ascertain if the flood has not weakened it? Now the airline has been given a clean bill of health, I see no reason why one shouldnt fly with DANA. If everyone switched airlines after a crash no major airline will exist today as every one of them has had major crashes in their history.

Why are people still flying British Airways after its 777 crash landed at Heathrow. In fact what happened to the 777 enroute from China was no different from what happened on that unfortunate Dana Air flight. The BA 777 plane lost all power but the pilots and passengers just had the good fortune that it happened within a distance in which they could glide to the airport. They barely scaled the airport's perimeter fence.

Many wont even know that Air France has even worse safety records regarding crashes than even Aero contractors... its a fact!

please, without sentiment, let me ask, is closing down an airline the best way to handle crashes? most crashes have affected top airlines yet WE NIGERIANS still fly them. The era of killing an airline becasue of an accident doesnt show any sense of seriousness on the part of our country.

British Airways has recorded more crashes than Dana air, and is still the number one choice of Britons and Nigerians. Air France recorded more devastating crashes than Bellview, Sosoliso and ADC combined yet still flies the skies with Nigerians flying in them. Its not more than 3yrs ago that a fully loaded Airfrance plane disappeared from radar and crashed into the ocean on its way from Brazil to France killing ALL on board? Or the Ethiopian airlines? Or Kenyan Airways?
Lets not be too emotional about this. yes, Lives were lost, but the lessons should be learnt from this accident to improve our aviation sector not kill it completely. I still believe if an airline does not adhere to safety rules and regulations, it should be forced to do so. however, if it shows adequate proof to show that it is serious about behaving itself, then let them fly, afterall, the consumer (commuter) will determine what happens to such an airline. Bellview was allowed to fly despite having a more fatal accident than ADC and the consumer power KILLED the airline slowly but surely.

well, i had my honda accord 1998 (academy) stoeln from church here in Abuja in 2010. Went to church and by the time i came out from mass, a 504 car was parked exactly where i had earlier parked. Did i go bonkers u bet i did!! But there was a little joker i had applied 2years earlier...



I had tracked my car with tramigo tracker, which uses a sim to send and receive commands via sms. the stupid thieves thot they had themselves a clean honda car which they had carted away. due to the initial network problems, the tracker refused to receive commands to reveal the location of the stolen car. however, 48hrs later, while sleeping, i was woken up by repeated sms alerts from my phone. initially i was angry as to who would be texting me at that ungodly hour. lo and behold, it was the tracker replying my earlier text message commands and it revealed the car was faraway in Jos, precisely, opposite the temporary site of UniJos. Omo!! see immediate insomnia!! i alerted my dad who alerted our DPO and later that morning, we took off to Jos. accompanied with a print out map which i got using the coordinates from the tracker and google earth, we were able to locate the exact spot where my car was. luckily, we found a guy driving the car and he had cleaned out the car... my alloy rims replaced with regular rims and the car swiped to look like it just came from cotonou. the beating the guy received at the scene was ecstatic as i was the one who confronted the idiot with blows and slaps. we bundled him into the boot of the car and started heading back to Abuja that same afternoon... eventually, we handed him over to SARS (dont know what happened to him after that)and i had to wait for a week b4 my car was released back to me. Guys!!! trackers work!!! Im a living witness o!!! after that, ALL our cars were tracked and that incident has made me paranoid about leaving my car parked anywhere outside my fence

this is what we get fro NEGOTIATING with terrorists instead of crushing them. now a precedence has been set, lets see how it wont escalate. by the time we finish negotiating with boko haram then armed robbers and even pick pockets will start clamoring for amnesty and then even the legislooters and pen-robbers...
