mansakhalifa: Son and grandson of farmers here.
Yams can be planted in both ridges and mounds/heaps. Now, that I can tell you for sure. Ignore those guys.
In my hometown, the people prefer mounds/heaps. They'll tell you it's better since it allows for better planning as far as spacing is concerned.
Personally, I prefer mounds. Thank you. But doesn't the fact that ridges ensures less weeding wahala confer an advantage over heaps in your book? |

So we've made ridges before deciding to plant water yams. But I've been told that yams can't be planted in ridges, that it must be 'heaps". Is this true? |

wpadmin: My Aunt was sick a certain time, she had a goiter on her head and was very lean.
When we got to the hospital, without running test, the nurses that came outside to carry her inside (she could not walk) automatically concluded that she had HIV.
My Aunt heard it and felt bad.
Life and patient’s emotions cost nothing here.
If we don’t start to sue irresponsible hospital staffs, this won’t stop. I've read quite a few hospital stories today, and this one is a sure contender for the gold medal in the hall of shame! |

PlayMaker14: Sometimes, being stubborn is really helpful... Barely two months ago, my sister was rushed to the hospital from her place of work and the condition was so critical that required an operation, while in the theatre battling for her precious life, I was praying and sweating profusely that she would come back....
While this was going on, I moved to the female ward of the hospital to get her mantle which she kept on her bag and I saw one of the female patient who's having difficulty to speak and breathe well trying to get the attention of a nurse putting on a white earphone blasting to music from her mobile device.
The female patient was pointing to the pulse clip which the nurse mistakenly removed while arranging her oxygen cylinder.
I had to forcefully remove the useless earphone from her ears and shouted at her to concentrate.... She wanted to misbehave by trying to shout back at me, I had to show her that there are levels to madness by destroying the earphone. I did wrong there, but I hate negligence.... She reported me to the naval personnel there and after everything, they ask me to take it easy and be calm.
What brighten my mood that day was that my sister came out of that health challenge and the doctors gave her full attention anytime she complained.
I don't tolerate negligence at work place. Tiri gbosa for you, my brother. |

So it's best to harvest around December? Is that when it sells for the best prices? |

thebosstrevor1: SAR DON SUFFER.
That is discrimination and it is unfair, just because someone was a member of SAR does not mean he committed crime against humanity.
There is no proof of this allegations of crime against humanity against him, he is being discriminated because of the type of job he was doing before.
He can appeal.
Just imagine being a shoemaker and you were denied visa because you polished gadaffi shoes....
When is guilty by association justice?? @ bolded It is. Let's assume he did not personally torture and murder people (which is unlikely since all SARS men are animals in human skin), their reasoning is that he knew the people he arrested and handed on were going to be subjected to such treatment. |

Celebrities › Re: Daddy Freeze Fined N5Million For Adultery With Benedicta Elechi by JuanDeDios: 8:00am On Mar 06, 2021 |
Karlovych:
Since when did adultery become a criminal offense? Married pastors have been sleeping with their church members yet non of them have been fined for adultery. This was NOT a criminal case or trial. It was a civil matter. In civil cases, damages are often awarded to compensate the person that suffered as a result of your action. For example, if you promise to marry a lady and she's awarded a scholarship to go and study in Australia and she turns it down because she's going to marry you and you then tell her you're no longer marrying, the court will award damages in her favour against you to compensate her for her loss even though you did not commit a crime. If it was a crime, you would either be sent to prison or asked to pay a FINE (which is different from damages because a fine goes to the government). |
Politics › Re: Governor Buni Marries Gumsu Abacha As Fourth Wife by JuanDeDios: 8:49am On Mar 02, 2021 |
Ishilove: Mai... This princely governor from a royal home has married into political royalty.
Gumsu is so beautiful. I wonder what joy they derive in polygamy A great deal. Think of it this way. Some people don't really care about companionship, male protection, regular sex, etc., but most do. Gumsu is divorced. If she says single, she remains alone and may miss the above for the rest of her life. If she gets married, she's sure of them. If she marries a man who already has other wives, she doesn't have his full attention, but she still has his attention with the attendant companionship et al. Also, being married confers certain respect in her society, and she would be looked down on otherwise. Of course, she can find a single man - some young men would jump at her since she's rich - but she would get bored with him very quickly and have another divorce on her hands. Nothing beats having a powerful man if you're a Gumsu. Being married to a man who already has other wives, who has seen it all, means she won't be divorcing soon since all that both of them really want is the security of a stable relationship not lovey-dovey. When you're in a polygamous marriage, you have the chance to do your thing, be yourself, since your partner isn't under pressure to pressure you to conform to become their dream man or dream woman. You don't get to piss each other off much so divorce is less likely. Aisha Babangida, Yaradua's daughter, etc. all took this route after the collapse of their first marriage and they've since been living in Happily Ever After. |

Kaduna1stson: If you are hoping on importation to fill the gap, remember that we run the borders, we can close Seme again plus other southern land borders.
We can handpick the foods to be imported from the ports because we are in charge of that sea access too. We can ban chicken and fish imports, alongside tomato and onions imports. You think you made sense, sir? Nigeria's borders are just suggestions - they're not really existent. When you "close" them, you simply empower customs to collect more money to let WHO THEY CATCH pass. |

Look around that school called OAU.. the first generation buildings are more stronger and qualified than the new generation building.
I would never understand y bricks were used to make buildings in 2010 upwards in a school that had used concrete to caste master pieces in the 60s...
For those who do not know what I am talking about...
A trip to spider building vs ChELT in that same school would explain all.
Once again
Shameful But why do you think bricks are not good? |
Politics › Re: Journalist, Others Escape Herdsmen Attack In Edo by JuanDeDios: 1:48pm On Feb 22, 2021 |
pappilo: Every alleged criminal act is now by a Fulani herdsman.
This guy is supposed to be a journalist and look at the way he has misinformed the public. That shows you how bad he must be at his day job.
Absolutely no verification that the alleged attackers were Fulani herdsmen. Just 3rd and 4th hand account from most likely bigoted people and he is passing it on as fact.
It is very trendy these days to find out the ethncity of people robbing you. It is truly amazing that in the heat of the moment when people are scared to death and trying to escape harm, they always find the time and have the presence of mind to identify the ethnicity of their attackers. It's wrong to assume ethnicity once a crime is committed. That can even lead to problems of its own. So your argument can be valid in specific cases - at least, on the face of it. For example, this journalist was merely narrating what he was told. It follows that he did not know the criminals were actually Fulani since he did not see them. But it also follows he does not know there was any attack at all since he did not see it. In any case, the reports of crimes committed by people of Fulani extraction are not make-believe. My friend, a journalist, was attacked on that same Benin Bypass by these guys - according to him, they blocked the road the cows that day. From their looks, dressing, and the use of cows, he felt justified to conclude they were Fulani. Some victims have reported attackers speaking Fulfulde or Hausa. Besides, Fulani criminals don't try to pretend they're not Fulani - sometimes, they tell you. And they're all over forests in Edo State, carrying on the business of Kidnapping. Note that before the Fulani came, there was kidnaping and nobody attributed them to Fulani. The suggestion that people in distress are in no position to know who their attackers are is dead on arrival. There's an old saying that "person wey dey cry dey see road". That's why the police all over the world ask criminals for the description of perpetrators all the time. |
