The consulate alerts your school immediately your visa is approved. They communicate via the SEVIS database. They also get alert from immigration once your entry is approved at POE. This is why they are able to alert the immigration if you are in the US and do not show up at the ISSO before resumption date. This doesn't mean they can influence your visa decision in anyway.

I'm not gonna argue with you. But i will still repeat to you. I, Nas used western Union during those times. Sending and receiving. Check your records well. When did banks stop sending western union out of Nigeria? I guess you're also unaware that before it was stopped there was a cap of how much you ca send out of the country per day. $10,000 or so. Please be sure before you start telling me NEVER. I'm done.

$10,000 out of Nigeria? That nearly choked me. I won't even argue what I know. You sent western union outta 9ja between 2004-2007? THAT AINT TRUE BABE.. The link below clearly indicates that this newly launched outbound transfer agreement with western union is first of its kind here in Nigeria. My dear, I have been working with WUMT since 2005 and there has never been outbound transfer since the launch of western union and money gram in Nigeria.

Western Union and moneygram transfer used to work in Nigeria, at least I'm 100% sure of 2004-2007. It was stopped due to the activities of money launderers.

2004-2007? You gotta be kidding me. I REPEAT, NEVER.

Lool. Naughty boy grin. You can't send Western Union from Nigeria anymore. But I don't know about moneygram sha. If both don't work, you have to settle for wire transfer

Nigeria has never been able to send out money via western union or money gram. The only way out is by wire transfer.

after the questions the vo ask him they ask him did u receive scholarship he said yes and they ask him for the remaining balance who will pay for the fiance he said that is mother, then the vo ask him that he should come two days to collect your visa after which he also finger print,as he was leaving the interview entrance the vo called him with the macron phone ask him to give her back the paper for collecting of visa that they want to verified the his bank statement if is ok that they will call him anytime from now. the problem we have now is that we have transfer back the seven million in that account to the owner and what remain is two million.what do you think we should, will they give him visa, please brodas please guide on what to do.
paper they gave him is under section 221g of the immigration and nationality act.
brodas what are they verifying the account for will bank give them the access to check how much is in the account.pls i need you all your help in this issue

Hey, you are spamming this page by posting same thing severally. That is not the best way to go about it. By the way, was the 7 million a single lodgement into the account in the first place?

My GTBANK Card does not work on POS again oo angry I tried to swipe it last week at Kroger and it was denied. I had to use the ATM cos I didn't have Internet banking. But my friend's Skye Bank card works when swiping. Guess what? They charged her lesser exchange rate than GTBANK charges me! undecided

If swiping doesn't work, just insert it and put your pin. Have you tried that?

250k can cover all the visa processing. Here's a breakdown of what you need to do:

1) Exam writing. You'll most likely need to write GRE and/or TOEFL if you're going for MS or PhD or SAT and/or TOEFL if for undergraduate.
GRE costs $195 or N30,000
TOEFL costs $180 or N28,000
SAT costs around N15,000(the last time I checked).

2) School application fees. Application fees range from as low as $30 to as high as $80. If you're applying to, say, 3 schools you multiply by 3. Budget like N50,000 for application fee.

3) International passport if you don't already have one. Budget like N20,000 for this.

4) Application for transcripts from your UG school and mailing of the transcripts by courier. Budget about N25,000 to N30,000 if you'll be sending at least 3 transcripts plus their courier costs per one.

5)After being given admission, you'll need to receive your I-20. You might need to pay for courier to have it delivered to you in Nigeria, if time's no longer on your side. Otherwise you allow them to send it via regular mail that takes about 4 weeks to deliver. The delivery by I-20 option costs at least $100 or N16,000

6) SEVIS fee payment of $200 or N32,500.

7) Visa interview booking fee of N26,400 during my time last year.

With the estimates given above, N250k will comfortably cover all your expenses. During my time I spent about N180,000.

Plus WES evaluation sir. Kindly include it by editing (Just for the sake of newbies). We can always refer that post to them any day any time.

ridimic1: pls any pesin already studying computer sciience msc..pls im about completing my application but they asked me to choose between thesis n non thesis in my field...dont understand mhen

Thesis requires research (project, report and defence). Non thesis is just course only. The course only option requires more courses than the thesis option. E.g, if your program requires 33 credits for graduation, your 33 credits will be 11 courses for course only option. The thesis option will be 9 courses (27 credits) and thesis of 6 credits.

Note: For some programs, you can't proceed to PhD if your Msc was course only.

Olupraise: Good morning house,

I would be glad if the house would be kind to shed more light on this interview transcript and where this friend of mine got it wrong yesterday.

Myfriend: Good morning
Vo: Good morning
vo: what are you going to study in the US
Myfriend: Undergraduate degree in fashion and design
vo: which school?
Myfriend: bay state colege
VO: What are you doing presently
My friend: Currently owns a boutique and into fashion designs
Vo; why study an undergraduate degree when you already had an HND in accountancy
Myfriend: my passion has always been in fashion
VO cuts in
VO; thats no reason to come to the US. you could as well have done that in Nigeria.
Myfriend; I believe there is more to still learn in the art of fashion design, which is the reason I want to study fashion design in the US
VO types some things and says am sorry i wont be granting you the visa

Please Note she has being denied a visit visa last year.

she has lost interest about trying again hence she doesn't want to reschedule but am trying to persuade her to try again. saying its Not a big deal to be in the USA (But I guess that is due to the emotions).
But please kindly enlighten me, where has she gone wrong.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Your friend is already into fashion/design. She doesn't need an undergraduate degree in the US just like the VO said. If she was going for some certification, it would have been a different case.

Thanks zeezah, but am sorry to ask this. Hope the school does not share information with the embassy, i mean the information i used in applying for admission. Though it was the old passport i used to apply for admission and at the time i was filling the ds160, i used the new passport number.
My question now is does the school one is going share students information with the embassy?

Even if they share, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you have documents to back your claim and that the new passport obtained bears exactly the same name on your old passport.

Scenario: If you have a visa on a passport and misplace it before travelling, they will issue another one on a new passport bearing the same name without any objection. Compared to your case, you have no problem at all. Just like Zeezahbee said, make sure all your visa application documents have the new passport number.

As far as you have a valid US visa, you don't need a transit visa to pass through UK to the US.

domex007: Visa denied today @ lag emb.

VO: *types again for ages* who is paying?
Me: Bleep ltd
VO: the company where you work?
Me: yes
VO: *types again for ages* am sorry your application does not qualify for a visa.
Me: *laughed a bit* said thanks and left.

So sorry bro. I never knew you were going for undergrad. I guess that is where the problem comes from. A company sponsoring your undergrad? That is a big red flag as it is highly suspicious. What do they stand to gain? Tell me the truth, are they actually going to pay for your undergrad or you are just using their statement as a cover up? Get a family sponsor and fire again bro. You can still make it.

Also try to familiarise yourself with a few courses from comp science in the undergrad level.
