Mckayzee: Hello @Justwise and everyone,
Kindly assist here.... Would it be safe to want arrive and quarantine at Birmingham when my school is actually in London.
Would it raise any eye brows at the entry point or cause any form of questioning ? I'm not sure quarantine has anything to do with location. |

lightest: baba, I have 2 lovely boys that are doing great here Oh ok good!, make sure you see your kids, make an arrangement to see them if she refuses to allow you see them then go to the council they will step-in to sort out a peaceful solution. Hopefully it will not get to that, you moving out may calm things down and both of you will have a rethink and sort things out Homeoffice will not separate you from your kids, before the visa expires write HomeOffice to explain your situation. They deal with it on case by case basis. Stay strong, you will be fine. |

Unless you have evidence on the contrary to provide enough counter - evidence to fight back.......
What sort of visa do you currently have?......
Have you tried mediation to resolve matters?..... Bro its not as easy as you think, my neighbor reported her ex-husband more than a year ago with truck loads of evidence that the marriage is a sham but Homeoffice did nothing and the man has moved in with another woman. |

thank u Bro keep your head down and avoid confrontation by all means, no verbal or physical abuse and deal with the issue as peaceful as you can. Move out if you try all you can and she insisted but make an arrangement to be seeing your kids(if kids are involved. Don't worry about deportation or anything like that because it will be difficult to get that done. Like i said avoid any form of abuse or physical harm. |

Reading weird reports online so I’m slightly worried No it will not be seized..well on the UK side but i'm not sure how Nigeria immigration will behave. Though you will be asked questions but clearly the money is for your fees/maintenance in the UK |

Verifiedlu: Good evening house.....@Justwise and others Please I have read some comments here about why people opt for a one year MSc Course over two years and I want to ask and be enlightened....If someone who got an offer for a one year Course is able to pay his/her tuition without stress, which is one of the reasons people opt for two years, are there other reasons that makes two years option better? I got an offer to study Infotech(1yr) for Sept 2021, the two years option with placement is available only for Jan 2022.....would it be wise to defer? Should I continue on with the race? Someone please advise thanks People go for two yrs mainly because it gives you longer stay in the UK, you will be given 18months visa and enjoy two summer holidays If you want to get ILR through the long route then 2yrs masters helps you to build up more yrs, two yrs masters also come with work placement though that work placement program doesn't favour everyone...you hardly get a placement in the area you studied.. |

Please permit me to ask another question. At the point of paying IHS surcharge fees for a child dependant i am asked to "add main persons visa expiry date". The main applicant and the whole family is applying together so there is no visa yet to quote an expiry date. Please how do go about this.
Will sincerely appreciate contributions from people who have been is similar situation.
Thank you. Use your course end-date as it appears in your CAS |

Mr2810: Morning Everyone.
Just a quick but urgent question please.
While trying to fill a dependants IHS application who recently returned from the UK the cost showed $0 and a IHS reference number was issued! Is this normal because i am aware paying IHS surcharge is a must? Please bear in mind that we had said "No" to staying in isle of man, Jersey or Guernsey questions. Will appreciate response from @justwise and every other wise person in the house. Many thanks. I'm trying to read back to where someone with similar issue was able to sort it out, i have seen this sort of question here a lot, just did not follow up to the end. Please anyone with answer to this question should help If i get the post i'm looking for i will quote it here |

Chadon007: Thanks so much for the prompt response. But for clarity, Are Aunt considered as Close Family in the UK because in the list of options, they included parents, siblings, in-laws, grandchildren and grandparents. No mention of Uncle or Aunt. I really need to be sure if aunt Is considered in that category or not so I prepare on how to answer appropriately. And what do you personally recommend I answer if questioned?. Should I still insist I have no relative or not. An aunt is not considered a family member but the framing of that question matters...were you asked if you have/know someone in the UK OR if you have a family in the UK? I doubt you will be called for an interview at this time but if they do and asked about that particular issue then explain to them just as you did here |

Chadon007: Please @justwise, I have a very pressing question. I have an aunt in UK who I didn't declare as Family in UK during my student visa application. Mind you I used her address as UK address for TB test but I chose my school address in my visa application and said No when asked if I will stay in another location in UK. Also, she was the one that paid for my IHS and visa fee with her card. Now, I did my biometrics ( standard) on 27th July and got not straight forward mail on 6th Aug. Please, as I prepare for an interview should I be called, how do you recommend I answer the question of " if I have a family in the UK". NB: Aunt and Uncle was not among the options listed as close family in the visa application. You should have answered Yes to that question but there is nothing you can do about it now, if you got all other requirements right then i don't think you will be refused because of that single mistake |

Pascalinho4real: Bro we are talking about making money here and financial freedom, I finished my service last year and I never get a Job , within 1year I earned almost 4million which I’m using to apply for UK masters , I have direct family in US and direct family IN UK, but I can tell you people in the US spend more and give more than those in UK , the thing is that you don’t have family abroad and you don’t know much about some countries economy and immigration policies US is much better than UK in terms of earning and financial freedom and you are here talking about your certificate…. Oya chop your certificate na nonsense. I'm fairly sure that you are still in nursey or primary school when i left Nigeria for the first time and have been to other countries. US spend more and give more but still your family in US hasn't given you enough to finance your trip? You have to work to save for UK education? What exactly did i say that got your blood boiling? |

tombnok: Good day everyone thank you i have been following this thread since May, i tried applying for my wife in june but could not meet up with September admission, she has been offer an unconditional admission in teeside uni to study international management for jan 2022, i want the experienced people to help me with what stage is next, a deposit if part of tution should be made? (non academic condition for admission) POF should be ready? For 28days? Now i just dont know what next step to take.
Also we are newly married and when she was applying she used My surname which is not the same as the name on her international passport. But all change of name processes have been concluded pls i hope this doesn't matter at visa application point?
And i will be willing to be guided stage by stage till we get a visa
Thank you in advance Take a deep breath and take this thing one step after another, all the info you need is in first page of this thread. To lead you on a bit...yes you may have to pay deposit to the school IF they asked for one before issuing CAS. Regarding name change....you don't have to worry about that as your marriage certificate will take care of that, when her passport is due for renewer she can make the necessary correction. |

fetomowo: 1. Mix up. That bit is not correct. 20 hours per week spread over the time period is what I meant to write. Will correct it.
2. The US visit visa is what rescued a lot of students during Theresa May's era from rotting in Nigeria. This is especially so if you are old cos your options are narrower considering that age, time, family factors may play into your ability to relocate. You mean after spending millions coming to the UK to study and getting certificate then you move to US with visiting visa to live illegally? Are you for real? |

fetomowo: This needs to be stressed out more than once. If you don't have money for living expenses. Please go to a university that you can afford.
It may help if your are coming with family - a spouse that can hustle full-time.
Spread out your program for two years by doing a two year masters. In that case you can legally work 30 hours a week. Then you can also have two summer breaks if you have a September start. Once for January start. Summer breaks usually span 3-4 months anytime between April-September depending on your school.
During summer breaks as well as between your course end date and graduation date you can work as much as your body will allow you.
Again, don't go to cities that are costly. You will struggle to pay bills. You will have no savings and most probably you won't be able to complete your tuition payment. (An advice - don't start sending money to Nigeria, save your money in the UK, keep a low profile. It's not yet time to start doing Father Christmas.)
Post Study Work Visa is not guaranteed. You can be eligible and still not get it. So you must have other plans. While you are in the UK, take the opportunity to get US visit visa (this is very important for old people - those in their 30s and above), you can look at Canada and Australia for skilled immigration, if you are pretty young (early twenties) or you are young (late twenties and early thirties) and have a family.
Those of you that like to abuse opportunities thinking no one is watching you. Better believe it the UK have your records o. Una go collect contract phone Una nor go pay. You dey owe council tax after your finish school. May be your case don dey with magistrate sef. If you are interested in PSW na to behave yourself properly o. Nor chook hand for wetin some other Naija people dey do o. Your own route is PSW, do only what will not affect your chances. You and person wey dey file for Refugee status nor be the same thing.
Another option is to do another Masters, if you've saved up. Or continue on a PhD. This need not be in the UK. If you have the money consider continental Europe, Republic of Ireland, Germany, Austria, Netherlands etc.
By all means, make sure you are not returning to Nigeria the way you left. Well that is if jakpa is your ultimate goal. Have plan A, B, C, and D. If life happens to A, you switch to B. Start planning now!
I hope I have spoken well. 1. How can one legally work 30hrs a week during term time? 2. Why is getting US visiting visa important at old age? |

cdieli: This should be taken seriously because family, money and time is being invested here. So we should know what we are getting into. Oh well...i see a lot of people here using ''build'' account to get a visa and return the money when the visa is out or even before visa is out...then travel to the UK hoping to work and study to survive...if you do that then you are likely to work more than 20hrs a week during term time, which means your PSW application is in danger. And you are also likely to fail one or two courses because you invested a lot of time trying to work to survive with little or no time to study. |
