https://www.nairaland.com/266144/anyone-tell-me-how-get/9

I hate it when people start dropping number here for 'contacts'. Why not do this yourself? Why do we love to go through backdoor, pay more than the official asking price?

VCTROKOYE: I don't like this statements. One can go thru an agent for different reasons. It could be out of ignorance. If you have any advice to give to assist him then do so.

This thread is beginning to lack the unity it was known for. May God help us
I don't care if you like it or not, its my decision and you don't have to like it. You have the right to help anybody if you want, its your decision.

I'm not here to please everybody so as to be called a 'nice guy'
Thank you so much for replying. I did talk to a counsellor at the end of the last semester, but she told me to hang on for one more semester. But I still feel...unsettled. I just don't want to regret wasting my time here in the long run.
With the way you are feeling it will even be harder to give it 100% study wise, speak to somebody in your depart, international office, get an university in the UK first and see the requirements, UK admission season is on now, so you have time now to sort it out.
I'm 17 years old and I graduated secondary school last year August. Thanks to God, I got two offers when I graduated: from University of Glamorgan, Wales (now University of South Wales) and a Canadian college. I decided to go to Canada in January and so far it's been really disappointing. My first semester- which ended in April- was the worst period of my life: I had no friends, no relatives here to talk to, nobody. Not to mention I failed two courses out of four- and I'd never failed anything before! My older brother schools in Cardiff University, Wales and has advised me, along with my parents to quit school here and start over in the UK. I'm currently studying Computer Science and, looking at the way things are going now, I'm not sure I'll be able to transfer to a good university. Isn't it better to study Software Engineering (my dream goal) in the UK instead of struggling and changing my course to an Arts course here in Canada?
I completely understand your situation, it could be really difficult away from home with no support network even for an adult.
Have you spoken to your department or international office about transferring to the UK?

dalobaba: @justwise. thanks for all you are doing here. i heard the uk application form is now filled online.. i dont know how true that is. please i will like to know if it's true and how do i go about it... thanks
Its true. That is what i'm trying to explain here >>>>

justwise: You submit it online but make sure you save it because you will also need to print a copy of it and sign which will be submitted physically at their office. When you submit online you will be contacted for further instruction, normally about a date when you will submit the hard copy, give fingerprint and pay the application fees

Use this link, every step is explained here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/countries/online/?langname=null

deebla: Thanks ... But fortunately for me, the UK refusal was in 2008 and it was an old passport(not ecowas pee) and I got the ecowas passport after then, so there's no stamp on it... Is it safe to say I've not been refused b4?
Be honest and explain why you were refused a visa (if you can remember) Being honest can only give your application some credibility, don't give them an excuse to deny you a visa.

Were you banned by the UK embassy when you were denied a visa in 2008? Did you give your fingerprint at that time?

justi4jesu: "Employees of companies in free zones have different sponsorship options depending on the free zone. For example, in Jebel Ali you can either be sponsored by an individual company or by the free zone authority itself. Whether the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai Internet City, Media City, Knowledge Village, Healthcare City or the Dubai Airport Free Zone, the respective authority will process your residency visa/permit directly through the Immigration Department, without having to get employment approval from the Ministry of Labour. This speeds up the process significantly, and residency permits can sometimes be granted in a matter of hours. Once Immigration has stamped your residence permit in your passport, the free zone will issue your labour card – this also acts as your security pass for entry to the free zone. A big advantage of working in a free zone is the lack of red tape encountered if you move jobs to another free zone company. This is because the free zone is actually your sponsor, so when you switch jobs to another employer you won’t be switching sponsors. A free zone residency permit is valid for three years, and the labour card either one or three years, depending on the free zone."
Thanks for explaining this to people who need it

khemthar: Dear @justwise

I have been reading your posts in this thread and really, I have been trying to understand you. But I think your last post has somewhat explained your "tough big brother actions/comments".

Please chill a bit. I understand you have a role as a moderator and you need to keep people in here as much as possible, but you really don't need to be highhanded about it. Especially as you quickly resort to name-calling: selfish, wicked etc. Your good will only be spoken of as evil.

E.g, don't you think it would have been better, if you replied to xtus by saying: "Sorry, you are not permitted to advertise other groups or forums here?" That should have been more effective.
xtus preferred to have his discussion outside this thread and i rather he keep off than discouraging people who want to keep the discussion open here.

This is what he has being doing from the first day he registered here..links below prove that.

chomiq3: @justwise my NYSC friend (guy) in Aberdeen wants to invite me to spend my annual leave and at the same time I want to attend the two days British School of Project Management seminar.
Now I have an invitation from the school with that of my friend's.

Should I write to UKAB and tell them my circumstances has changed from my last application, that I now want to go on a holiday and still attend the seminar? Secondly in this case which invitation should I present in my next application.

Pls note we did a review on the last refusal and UKBA sent me a mail that am welcomed to reapply.

Thanks for ur urgent reply and answers.
What type of visa did you apply for before that was refused?
