I really need expertise on this matter. The issue I'm batteling is one that reocurred. My mechanic replaced the Dual Linear Solenoid (Flat Switch) of my transmission about 2 weeks ago. Prior to this, my gear wasn't changing appropriately. 2 days ago, I noticed leaks coming out of the
transmission and took the car back to the Mechanic to get it checked out. He noticed that the leaks were coming from the flat switch whgich was replaced.

Upon, sealing the leak, I left the workshop and barely 5 minutes later, my car refused to engage the second gear. Right now my mechanic is telling me that the switch hardly goes bad and he is very sure of the quality of the switch (Solenoid) that he purchased and my best bid right now will be to replace the transmission.

Attached is a picture of the solenoid which I think is responsible for this issue.

What happened to the solenoid pack gasket? That is the correct seal to use! If your transmission worked well before the sealing, then the gum must have blocked a port during application, or some excess broken lose after, and did same thing. It should be an easy fix.

Let him clean the pack thoroughly and look for the gasket!

my opel vectra gearbox got bad, the second hand that was fixed does not select reverse. Now I don't have money to buy new car. Mechanic called me to suggest if they should change it to manual (that it is hard to find good gearbox ), I just shouted no o. He sha wants to see if he can send for another gearbox . Please someone enlighten me on the option of changing automatic to manual .Abeg answer quick o.

What year is your Vectra? It is easier to change from auto to manual, than the other way round.

Tape. Those adhesives that come on paper tapes. They remove the paper, and then stick the flat gum between the windscreen and the vehicle body. After some months, leakage sets in.

I know some vehicles get their speed from the ABS, but never knew the 2000 Sienna was one of them!

@Gazzuzz, test bulb and meters are ancient and modern though. They could save you a hell lot of butt kicking.

A friend went to apply for a drivers license on Tuesday and he came back to narrate his shocking findings. He said he was told the process has recently changed.. That he has to register with a certified driving school and get training for 26days, after which he will be sent a certificate from Abuja to print out and then he can come back with it to apply for a driver license.

My friend and I are surprised at this. So I was wondering if any of you guys already know this or is someone speaking Latin?

I hope they did not use the tape 'gum' to fix it? The original glue should cost more than 5k to install.

House kindly help with my KIA sorento 2006, Park and Neutral the Idle is very high rpm goes above 2000, while in Drive its normal, if I disconnect IAT/MAF sensor d work get normal at Idle but if connect IAT/MAF back d rpm goes up again. My able Engineers, Oga Gazzuzz, kindly help.

You already found the culprit

Some vehicles' speedo is driven by the ABS sensor, but not sure yours is one of them. The first step will be to fix the ABS.

Can you share a picture, diagram or link? Actual auxiliary gear is not found in any Rx300. For the 4x4 capable ones, it is automatic.

People say the station still generates, but I dont know what powers the turbines. When we were younger - 80s and 90s, there were overhead conveyors that transported coal from Enugu mine to Oji River where this station lays. The towers still stand. Those days, I would just be watching them if we travel to the village. It probably died with the coal mine.

Getting that transport back is relatively cheap and easy but the coal? Again, is coal-fired turbine technology still supported?

OP, there are SIX TSBs on this vehicle's transmission! It is a lot IMO. Unfortunately, I am not able to pull them on my tablet. Not sure why.

You need a knowledgeable transmission specialist. Meanwhile, which of the Evoques do you own?

In all, be prepared to reach deep into your pocket.

It's possible, but that car must have at least, two reverse ratios in order to achieve that.

I thank everybody that shows concern towards fixing my vehicle from gazzuzz to kingreign and other professionals in this forum. Thanks and God bless you. After the scan it brought out p1150 and p1346. So i was directed on where to fix it. I got to the man and show him the scan code the man laugh and throw it away and says that make i forget computer and work on my car. Lol. He entered the steering and zoom off to express road. After testing it he says the exhaust has blocked and could not allow the car to breath. I call kingreign to convince the man on what the codes mean but after the call the man called another mechanic who drove my car and still say make i leave computer code na exhaust blocked. I said ok make them loose the exhaust after loosing the exhause with entered the road and my car flies like plane then they told me to buy catalyst at the exhaust or make them remove the block catalyst so that my car will run normal again but with high fuel consumption but i disagree and called for new catalyst which they fix and my car returns to normal speed. We then rescan the car and the p1150 never showed up again. The p1346 came up but with different status now " cam shaft sensor error signal" before it was cam shaft un alignment and timing solenoid. They told me to change the sensor which i will do soonest. My people as of now my car is flying and i pray it continues. Though i spend money shall.

Congrats but, lack of catalyst won't have affected your economy.

I still don't understand the need or effect. Will it improve combustion, efficiency or power? You can't get enough water in there to do any considerable cleaning without compromising combustion.

I believe such thing can't happen to your car cos a lot of cars have had cases of top gasket blown or damaged causing coolant to slip into the combustion chamber hence the reason why some car fume smell like pancake syrup. If you'd take the time to check out the YouTube link I posted earlier, you'd see where the guy displayed a chamber which got clean cos the top gasket broke. I'm gonna give it a try on my ML500

I even watched another where he used videoscope to try proving this works but, it did not make much difference. The risk is higher IMO.

That's a Kazeemized name. You are better off calling it final drive. Also note that 4x4 drive does not make a vehicle an SUV. There are 2WD SUVs, and there are 4x4 sedans.

A scanner with live data capacity can do that. From there, it can also be confirmed if the TCC lockup is being commanded.

He can equally command the shifts from the scanner if necessary.

@OP, Some factors will limit vehicle speed:

ECT
VSS/OSS
ABS (only applies to newer models)
MAP
Knock sensor.

If the TCC remains in wet connection, the car will drag, but should usually get to about 90km/h. Note that some of these problems will not set a code.

I thought a two-stage pump is better for AC works? (though not easy to find).

In addition to its volatility, petrol has harmful effects to the environment. I believe that this reason is the major factor why people are advised not to use it. Countries with strict environmental laws due not permit their use.
It's evaporates fast releasing its CxHy content to the environment; one of the major environmental pollutants.
This is why Engine designers try as much as possible to reduce the amount of hydrocarbon, as well as other toxic gases emission from their engines to the atmosphere. Washing the parts with that same hydrocarbon defeats the aim.

The focus is on direct effect on parts being cleaned, not environment. Thank you.

There are some rubber seals in some parts that tends to expand when they have contact with petrol,that's why it's advisable to wash with kerosene or ATF because they are less volatile.

You can see I mentioned "metal-only parts". If you work on high precision parts that need absolute cleaning, petrol works better, and faster than kerosene.

MS906 does not support the j2534 ecu programming box .
It is only ms908 pro and elite that work with the box.
i will have maxisys ms906 by next week and it goes by price of 350k .
