Everything the Force PRO says on Police diary on Tuesday and Thursday is just window dressing. The Nigeria Police is a dreadful monster. there are several cases of abuse that the Police authorities are not addressing. Last two weeks a Mobile Polcieman shot and killed a commercial bus driver and his conductor in Karmo a suburb of Abuja. There offence; demanding that he pays his bus fare. They average Nigeria Police man lacks basic human resource skills, basic investigative skills, most are not intelligence, poor self image and other dynsfunctional behaviour that in civilised societies would expressly make one visit a psychologist or psychiatrist as the case may be. To cover up for these weaknesses they resort to intimidation, brute force and sometimes killing of their victim. My advice to any sensible Nigeria is to avoid the Nigeria Police man like a plague. |
CIV would definitely give a good account of them selves. |
Marlon Brandon and Al Pacino in the Godfather Al Pacino in the Scent of a Woman Al Pacino as Carlito Brigante in Carlitos Way. Tom Hanks as Captain Miller in Saving Private Ryan. Al Pacino lines and use of words are unforgetable any day. |
I agree with Redman 44 |
Segun Adeyemi is gradually begining to loose the respect he gathered during his days in Thisday newspapers. He should be asked whether he has set his eyes on the President. Why all the secrecy about his return. |
Yar Adua is back home in Abuja. Video Clips were shown on France 24 this morning 3:00 am news. What next? |
up rooney |
We should not be too excited, he also resigned under the Obasanjo regime only to resurface under Yar Adua |
Marriage is hardwork. Maintaining the sparks dont just come you have to work at it. |
Technically speaking Jonathan would have taken this decisiueon for the following reasons; 1. Aodonkaa has done so much to discredit the Nigerian constitution and its true meanings in certain sections. 2. He needs a trully sound Legal person as attorney general to cope with the legal challenges that may arise as a result of being our acting presidents. You would perceive that Aodonkaa is not sound legally from him utterances and conduct; he got his SAN from the back door. The new AGF is a true SAN. 3. He needs to breed his own crop of loyalist. 4. He is using this to test the waters. Aondokaa is hated by the public for his conducts recently so he can be dispensed with. Most of the duties of the Minister of Special duties is not clearly defined, also most parastatals under special duties falls under the office of the Vice President, since for now there is no sustantive VP, Aodonkaa would report to Jonathan directly, then he would be terrible frustrated. The game has just began. You never know what a man would do with power until you give it to him. |
Soludo has a lot of options, among which are; 1. Return to the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka as an Economist. 2. Return back to the Institute he setup that is the Public Analysis Group/Institute through which he has been acting as a consultant to sevral International Organisations such as IMF, World Bank etc. 3. Join the African Finance Corporation which he co founded. Any of these option would allow him time to re-strategize and bounce back. Mind you Soludo is still young in politics so people should not sound like he is finished politically. This is just his first shot at a political office. Also as long as PDP remains in power at the federal level he stands the chance of picking up another political appointment. Though he may have a case to answer with the EFCC but I dont think they have a strong case against him, because other highly placed Nigerians are implicated in the whole deal. So please dont write off Soludo yet. |
From: http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/keshinro-hafees/and-luth-simultaneously-murdered-3-babies.html …AND LUTH SIMULTANEOUSLY MURDERED 3 BABIES Cc: Governor Babatunde Fashola The Minister Of Health Vice President Good Luck Jonathan January 19, 2010, was a sad day for my family, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) killed the new addition to our family and two other babies, all the same minutes. This write up is not the ranting of a man mourning or feeling a lost and wanting to blame somebody, it is a piece meant to correct and if possible seek the punishment of the wickedness and lack of professionalism of the LUTH staff. We are sad not because we lost a child, but because our child was murdered. Three babies (our daughter is less than 24 hours old) were killed by the nurses and doctors on night duty on the 18 January. The three newborns gasped, thrashed their legs, and fought for their existence under oxygen masks that can no further dispense. The oxygen simply finished while the staff on night duty went to sleep, allowing the cold hands of death to snatch the young children away. We were notified by 4.00 am on the 19th of the demise of our baby, who just the last night was a bundle of joy to our family. Our daughter could have been another Chimamanda , or Mary Onyali, or even another Nobel laureate. Describing the nurses and doctors as wicked may sound rather harsh, but how do one explain a scenario in which a member of my family present, went to the nurses to alert them of the children gasping under the mask, and she was insulted and told not to disturb their sleep, with the false assurances that the babies were okay. She went to complain more than four good times but they refuse to heed. When the children died eventually, the other two parents were told they failed to buy the necessary drugs, ours was simply hinged on the act of God-the drugs of course had been purchased. Even one of their silly doctors promised that the baby would be revived, after 4 hours of being dead -talk about a miracle LUTH. Ever since this happened, LUTH has not issued a statement, no one has said anything, no one has been held accountable, the system of killing patients simply continued. The painful part of this whole sad event is our wife still lies at the General Hospital recovering from a caesarian operation without knowing that her child has been killed by LUTH. She asks after her baby and we keep telling her she is recuperating in LUTH. Our wife’s blood pressure is high, why should we kill her with the news of the death of a child she went through trauma to deliver. Yes, surely at appoint she would be told, probably when she gets back home, but can any one endure the loss of a nine months old pregnancy to the wickedness and madness at LUTH. The inhuman act at LUTH could make any one contemplate the ‘cold murder’ of the nurses and doctors on duty, and those connected with the killing of the innocent 3 babies. From the nurses to the administrators who allow an almost finished oxygen cylinder to be used – it would all be a reminiscence of ‘A time to kill’ by John Grisham. The sad journey actually started at the Orile Agege, General Hospital located at Ilepo bus stop of the Lagos Abeokuta express where the most amazing and crazy things in health care systems happens at the maternity section. Only one doctor and probably three nurses catering for about fifty women at a time- this is not an exaggeration. The doctor works round the clock and delivers an average of seven children every day, it also took him more than twenty four hours to write drug prescription for our wife who just had a caesarian. Most of the time, the staff are overwhelmed and they simply ignore the cries, and close their eyes to suffering pregnant women, until the babies head are out, or the ‘water has broken’ Why should a heavily pregnant woman who died on getting to the hospital be left inside the vehicles that brought her with people walking by to have a look at her already rigid body, that was beginning to look like iced stock fish. Our wife delivered through a caesarian (one of my brothers said 9 out of 13 births he knows about the last 6 months were done through caesarian why?) and our baby was healthy except for breathing problems. They were first referred to ‘Ayinke house’ where there was ‘no space’ and later to LUTH. It took over an hour to get an ambulance to convey the baby after eventually fighting and cursing (how much is an ambulance for heavens sake), especially as they refused to use a regular vehicle. The question here is why should we have to get to ‘Ayinke house’ before discovering there was no space, couldn’t they have just call and alert them of patients coming or ask if they could bring a patient so they could be prepared. No wonder we are called a third world country! Our health care system stinks, to say the giant of Africa, fifth largest producer of crude oil, and the largest black African country can not effectively run a health care system is a shame. Since we can not all go to the national hospital at Abuja or go to Saudi Arabia, can they at least let these hospitals function. At the said General hospital, they have no x-ray machine, not even an outdated one. Please could any one help me inform the minister of health that the staff at LUTH through sheer wickedness, lack of professionalism, and inhuman tendencies murdered 3 Nigerian babies, by letting them gasped to death when the oxygen in their gas mask finished. Our health system is a failed system and part of a failing state. My elder brother who is the father of the baby has lost faith in the entity called Nigeria. He has resolved to pack his bags and take the surviving members of his family away before they are murdered, either through a non professional hospital staff or a trigger happy police man. Please tell Prof. Dora to keep rebranding. Please reach me on hafeeskeshinro@yahoo.com http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/keshinro-hafees/and-luth-simultaneously-murdered-3-babies.html |

We used to think that Abuja is safe. This is the second high profile kidnapping in Abuja. The first being the kidnapping of the daughter of a member of the House of Rep at the University of Abuja. From the South South to the South East, kidnapping has spread to the North Central (Kogi) to the South West and the North. Now Abuja is under focus. It is so frustrating that the government is doing nothing to address the root causes of this trend. I guess it is time to say another round of prayer for Nigeria |
Recently there have been an increase in the number of Men with weird and other types of hair does such as Braided Hairs, Dread Locks, both short and long ones, permed hairs and others. Even now a lot of guys wear earings etc. Please is your opinion about this trend. |
We should forget about this issue that she is a child. I know a girl some years back at the age of 20 as an undergraduate the mother and her mother's Pastor insisted that she must marry a Man that came from Germany. This man that came from germany is a borther to her mother's friend's husband. She refused. Mind you the mother is a widow. Her father died when she was 7 years old and they are four girls and the father family refused to offer the mother any assistance since her husband died. Infact they took all the man's property, since all his children are girls. The girl in question is the first among her sibbling. She insisted, she would not marry the man. The man even gave the mother a Mercedes 200 car. Every body around kept blaming her that she does not want her mother's sufferering to end; and so on. The mother and some of the mother's friend went as far as bring a prophetess to tell her that her future and her well being depends on marrying this guy Germany. When she still insisted the mother vowed never to pay her school fees again from her petty trading. Every body in her neighbourhood saw her as wicked girl since this guy from germany appears to be rich and has given the mother a car with a driver. When the pressure became too much she ran away from home to stay temporily with a friend somewhere in Orile in Lagos. Finally she lost a year in school, because there was no support for her to go back to school. Meanwhile before this incidence she was dating a guy that was doing his NYSC programme when all these was happening. When this guy finished his NYSC he got a job after some months and he now financed this girls education. The guy from germany latter took back the car he gave to the mother. Today they have been married for 8 years with three children. The point I want to make is that parental pressure is not enough for some of the decisions and things we do especicially as it relates to marriege. |
The Aba - Obehie is noted for high level kidnapping and robbery. The boys know that this would be a big pay day. Thus the killing of the police eescort. The Modus Operandi does not match the MEND styles and also the terrain is for the Aba boys, so leave mend out of this. |
This throws up a lot of pertinent issues; Nigerian students use to be known for their stand for democracy and good governance. Even during the draconian rule of Abacha students risked their lives and went on strike and open demonstration that was the era when NANS (National Assoiation of Nigerian Students) and most school's SUG (Student Union Government) had credible leadershipnow. What do we have now, the leadership of NANS since the tenure of one Daniel Onje (FUT Minna) is a mess. There was a time in the recent past when they even have two national presidents, most SUG government in schools today are government appointees and stooges of the Vice Chancellors. Until we come to a time when we stand up for the truth and shun stomach driven thinking, where what we would eat would come first, then we would not make any progress. those students, immediately they realised the true purpose why they were brought to the National Assembly premises should have turn back enmasse and returen back to their school; or better still attack those that deceived them. Rather they were waiting for N1000 or at most N2000. They have no excuse for being there and things like these makes one fear for Nigeria's future. |
This same poster (platinumnk), once claim in a thread that she uses a Maxima 2004 bought for her by her father. I think the thread is Maximavs Toyota or something like that. I have a feeling she is just forming |
There is a very important issues we are neglecting; that is , Northern Nigeria has been breeding Islamic Fundametalist and Radical Islamist in the past 10 years. Christian have been attacked and killed severally across states like, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Gombe, Borno, Plateau, Bauch and Jigawa in the past 8 years. In states like Kano, Kaduna and other it has occured up to four times if not more. Recall the Boko Haram and most rececntly (Dec. 2009) the Kala Kato saga. There are radical islamist sect scattered in different location in Northern Nigeria. Mind you there have never been a single case of unprovoked attack on Moslem in Southern Nigeria. Umar Muttalab grew up in Kaduna he may witnessed the hatred for Christian and seen first hand the attacks on the Christian in Kaduna and his hatred for the Christians symbolised by western nations. Thus the birth of terrorism in him. If not how come he or other moslems in Nigeria would be claiming to love Afghanistan when their leaders are looting Nigeria blind, subjecting the entire polity to poverty. Infact, his father benefited from the mad looting of the Nigerian State. What Umar Muttalab did is just the exporting of something that has been brewing in Nigeria for some time. More is still coming. |
@Lastpage Your post is too cool. Your post is the best so far on this thread. - Pickin wen say im mama no go sleep himself no go sleep too. - If person hold you down, himself go dey down till he leave you. - no we no mind dem jare. Naija for show. we go finally win. Since no be we send mutallab |
Posters and Nairalanders, please we should stop wasting our time on a gut like Shola or whatever he calls himself. 1. He is not a Jaimacan like he claims. 2. His holier than thou attitude is sickening and digusting. 3. he has clearly told us he is a male LovePeddler, by claiming that he should not be questioned on the number of girls he has slept with while 4 guys make a lady a LovePeddler. 5. He is arrogant and full of himself< Mind you he is not ready to accept correction or any positive advice. He may think he is being guyish, but from all his post you would realise that his attitide is dysfunctional. He has said it clearly if he is not supplied with enough sex, he would resort to despoiling. He is mostly likely to be a sexual pervert. |
Rumours are even making the round that the man (Yar Adua) is dead and that the North is look for someone of the same size, shape and built with Yar Adua and then perform a plastic surgery on his face to make him look like Yar Adua. Then bring the impostor to Aso Rock to stand in for the dead Yar Adua and act as our president . Meanwhile Aodonkaa has become a constitutional lawyer, interpreting all segment of the constitution tosuit his selfish aims. The Ministers are happy because they have become lords to themselves and are no longer accountable to anyone. |
Most Japanese Cars these lettering on them XE, LE, CE, GLE, SE etc. Please what does these lettering mean and how does it differentiate the model or capabilities of these cars. |
From Farouk's post the following is evident; 1. His online post displays an inner craving for support and guidiance which his family caanot provide. A family of 16 children. This is not coming as a suprise because in most wealthy homes in Nigeria, parents dispatch their children to international primary and secondary schools and then to University abroad. The home is suppose to be the first agent of socialisation. Since the home did not provide this, it was just a matter of time for him to pick up destructive ideas from other sources. 2. His suicidal nature have been evident from time. Seclusion, and unnecessary search for knowledge shows a deviant threat that should have been corrected from an early age. 3. Umar Muttallab, Farouk's father is among those that have benefitted immensely from amassing wealth from state funds in Nigeria and such people see money as every thing. His report to the US embassy and Nigeria's security agencies was belated. He failed on the home front in mentoring his son. With 16 children, how do you monitor and know the peculiar characteristics of each child. I rest my case here. |
To the Gaza - Israel Palestine issue, I have the following questions to ask - 1. Why would you be at War with someone that supplies you Electricity, Water, Food, Cement and other essential goods. 2. Is not possible for a middle course to be achieved in the peace move between Israel and Palestine. 3. Why is it that anytinme Israel lift the blockade of Gaza they would be greeted with bombings. 4. What is the role of Egypt in this whole saga. This week they blocked 25 trailers carrying food and other items from entering Gaza through their own end. Mind you these food and other relief items is coming from the west to a moslem people, yet Egypt that is predominantly moslem is blocking them from reaching Gaza. I am not a supporter of Israel, I don't really like the way they go about the Palestinian issue but the Palestinians themselves are not helping issues. I am making these references because a poster on this thread refereed to the issues in the Palestine. I wonder how the Gaza issue relates to the killings in northern Nigeria |
I have met a lot of Moslems here in Nigeria that are very decent, discipline and civilized. Posters should note that all moslems are not in support of what is happening. 1. My worry with these religious killings in northern Nigeria is that nothing is being done about the almajiri system. As long as the almajiri system exist religious fanatics and mischievous teachers would always have a ready pool from which they would recruit the fighters from. 2. Why on earth in this century would one person kill another over religion. Religion convinction is a personal thing. Thus religious conversion should be by persuasion not war. 3. Those that hate the west so much, still receive a lot of western support and use western goods and amenities. So why the hatred. 4. The Arabic contribution to the field of learning such as Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy etc is so much. So it is only a fool that would come up to say that learning and knowledge is bad, because even the Arabs from whom they got their religions have contributed so much and are also benefiting from learning and western knowledge. 5. Why is the Northern elite keeping quite about these happenings in the north, why would they not stand up and campaign seriously against bastardization of their religion. All these questions are begging for answers. |
Nigerians generally prefer Toyota products to any other brands for the following reassons; 1. Word of mouth and band wagon effect. 2. Availability of parts. 3. Mechanic's opinion, - when you visit a mechanic and mention a car brand, even if they don't know anything about the car the y would just tell you that the car is not good. So over time Nigerian's have gotten used to it and tend to buy cars based on their mechanic's recommendation. Check the roll call. a. Sienna sells better than Quest. b. Camry sell more than Maxima c. Carina E sells more than Primera or Altima. The list goes on |
Mercury Villager has almost the same body built with Nissa Quest, do they use the same parts (body and engine) |
Please, I am soliciting for sincere advice from NLs like Sienna, Ayodejioq and other auto experts. What would be your advice for some one wishing to own a Toyota Sienna 1999 Model or a Nissan Quest 1999 or a Mercury Villager 1999 model. The clarifaction I seek is in respect of; 1. Performance/track record 2. Ease of maintainance /availability of spare parts in naija 3. Strenght. 4. Durability 5. Price |
