nicequeen: Mature nlanders come to my aid. I n my hubby have a 2months + old baby. Our baby's baptism will be by month end. My hubby has always wanted to celebrate it. But av bin kicking against it cos of our financial situation. My hubby has got so much loan to repay dat wen he pays every month end from his salary, he has to go take a fresh loan for life to continue. It has been like this for some tym now. Now my hubby wants us to postpone our baby's baptism all becos he wants to throw a party after it. Av told him i wont keep my baby at home for 4months because party. Cos we can jus do the baptism n come bak home. The annoying thing is that in dat next month, he's going to take a loan to do the party. Our rent will also be due by then. He says all his friends and colleagues are expecting him n are always reminding him about throwing the party. I told him it doesnt matter cos those people will leave us to "drink garri" wen the party is over. My husband is a people pleaser. Pls how can i convince him not to throw this unnecesary party. Cos i cant stay at home again for another 1 month Calculate every dime he is owing plus the rent that will be due. Add a rough estimate of what the baby will also need in the coming months eg pampers, formula, baby wears, high chair, etc. Sit him down and ask for a logical explanation of how he wants to meet all these obligations as they cannot be avoided. Explain to him how an additional loan for a party will take the family into more debt. Discourage him as much as possible. Give him some time but If he still insist he is going to have the party, just convince him to make it a small affair. |

Even this present hospital will be money conscious as soon as they hear the patient is a community owned patient. I still wonder why jaybee3 included the hospital name and location. He may as well have included the doctor's and nurses' numbers too. I am also unpset that DJ still has access to the original phone. Why is that? you and I have the same gender, what is it? jaybee3: Update Djdola has now been admitted to the life support medical centre at Ikeja. The hospital will facilitate all necessary tests needed to provide a proper diagnosis. He is currently undergoing consultation and we will provide further details as soon as we receive them
We have paid an initial deposit of N130k (please see the attached receipt). Thanks to each and every one of you for your support.
PS: can we please plead that you restrict your communications with DJ to text messages only at this time.
Regards
TeHN Thank God he has finally been admitted, for the sake of next time cuz we learn everyday, can I advise that whoever is calling these hospitals esp the high end ones should avoid giving out too much unnecessary info like saying the patient is on benefit or he has been to other hospitals before theirs. They would most likely tell you there is no bed space once they get to hear this before admission. They would think they are taking in a terminal reject case from other hospitals and for them, it's not just about the money, it's about reputation. It is well. |

Billyonaire: 21st Marriages need 21st century manipulations and controls. Our parents', churches' advises and prayers may likely not quench our quiet desperation. For example, How do you talk a woman, whose fantasy is to have sex in a club toilet ? This is the world of women (fantasy).
OP; This is my advise; Marriage issues are never to be taken lightly as a man, you must be a man. Every suspicion in marriages must be treated like war.
Step 1: Copy the man's phone number, write it in a piece of paper.
Step 2: Buy 2 new smart phones and sim cards.
Step 3: Make your wife's phone to disappear with the sim card ofcourse, and when she complains she hasnt seen her phone, give her a new phone and simcard registered.(Never allow her retrieve the other line). Keep one of the new phone for your covet Operation.
Step 4: Insert your new simcard into your new phone and text her lover, (as your wife ofcourse), telling him you (your wife) lost your other phone and this is your new sim, send the message text or whatsapp messages. You should be able to play out the true nature of their relationship in 24hrs, you should know if they have done it yet, about to do it or never going to. Simple.
Step 5: If they have done it, then you have your wife's previous phone messages as evidences, plus confirmation on the new phone. If they are about to do it, then move to step 6.
Step 6: Accept (as your wife) to do it, give venue, (hotel with good security and by the road), make sure, you plan in such a way that the lady is the one paying the Hotel fees etc. Lets say its room 215, Eko Hotel on Saturday 4PM, move to step 7
Step 7: Plan for evening get away to Eko Hotel with your wife, and stay in room 215 with your beautiful wife, and make sure you have 2 trusted friends, and one of your wife's friend in the next room, your wife must not know these allies are around the corner.
(All conversations with the lover restricted to chats cos cheating wife's hardly talk on phone lest the husbands know).
Step 8: (Action); When there is a knock on the door, that fateful date and minute, excuse your wife, and go into the bathroom, and have her attend to the (room service) lover at the door. Move to step 9.
Step 9: Drama! Drama!! Drama!!! (What you do there, is at your discretion, but if you need my advise.....) Hehehehe I don see sontin today oooo Oga, is this a template you already have or you actually sat down to map this out? |
Health › Re: I Need Help by Kimoni: 1:28pm On Nov 13, 2014 |
Busybody2: All I was saying is that with the two differential diagnoses on the ground from two separate Clinicians, a final diagnosis/third opinion needs to be in place with the stage and percentage of the conditions would be known, so that any red flag, false alarm, false hopes, contraindication, comorbidity, etc could be ascertained/explored...so the urgent patient care management the OP needs could kick in ASAP...and so that people would know what they are donating for... But what is delaying this? A good hospital has been found in Lagos, ready to take him in, Caracacta says the deposit required is available, if an ambulance is not available, renting a very good vehicle even in Eruwa to transport him to Lagos shouldn't take the whole day. And I think he's even in a better state to travel compared to when he was taken there. And I agree the donations shouldn't stop except there is a standby sponsor ready to take on the financial commitment. It is well. |

Team B . . .its now your turn to recruit Team C . . well done All, St. Nicholas is my family hospital so I was able to get the information quickly which I am passing down thus- 1. Yes, they do dialysis and the cost of each session is about N30/35k 2. They do kidney transplant but not liver transplant. They also don't think there is any hospital that does liver transplant in Nigeria. 3. Yes they have spaces and there is a Dr on ground but he closes by 3-4pm so he will see Hamed if we can move him there before that time, if not the Dr will see him very early tomorrow morning. 4. They don't have donors for kidney transplant even though they do the operation regularly. The patient has to come with some family member who will be tested for a match before its done. 5. Yes, they have ambulances but their ambulance may be unwilling to go to that location so I advise we move him ourselves asap. 6. I have the Dr's name so the team can let me know who to send the name to. Thanks all. Sorry I jumped the gun, just felt this information is what I can get easily without any bureaucracy. |

Equality for me should not cherrypick but as soon as it starts doing that, another name should be given to the movement that adequately captures its beliefs. felifeli: Thank you for looking at my profile. I think I have sufficiently worried you for you to determine that you are fvcking with someone your brain cannot understand. You are right I am a madman, indeed I am actually a raving lunatic so let's get that straight so I don't give a piss about what is in your profile. You are just a glorified salesman anyway if at all you have a job. As for the other part of your problem I will leave you with the following :
I think you belong in the last group- the salesman trying to be important. Fvck off my face , you guys are sold for ten Naira per dozen. I am finally getting somewhere with you. Let me ignore your ravings for once and at least congratulate you for making a bold attempt to learn. From your research, you should now understand that being called 'relationship manager' is a job function and not a grade or level like you thought earlier? And the blog does well to list the different functions to you. Good one! The name given to them has never been an issue for me: r/managers, salesmen, account officers, business managers, business developers, whatever. Different institutions use different name depending on the extent of the job. I consider more important things like pay, grade and other benefits before taking up a job. Anyways, so when I said in my earlier post that I manage Nigerian Eagle and corrected you on their ownership structure, you see where I am coming from? That I would most likely have a more updated information than you who lives in Ibadan and merely passes their office along the expressway? You see why you shouldnt just insult people online when you know little or nothing about the topic? |
Family › Re: Where Are The Majority Of True Nigerian Men? by Kimoni: 3:40pm On Nov 12, 2014 |
carefreewannabe: Exactly! She was given a pay raise because of her contributions and nothing else. She was given what everyone else would be given for the same performance. This is equal treatment and equity is "a situation in which everyone is treated equally". She was treated like everyone else. She did not get anything for being absent.
http://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/equity_1
There is no need to make matters more complicated.
If she was not given any pay raise for her contribution then she would have been treated differently, unequally and THEREFORE unfairly.
If athletes had to start from the same position when running an oval field, then they would be given UNEQUAL chances and therefore treated unfairly. Because they start from different positions, they have the same distance to run, it is equal and THEREFORE fair.
Fairness and equity are therefore a result of equality.
A woman who thinks that there can be equity without equality is not logical. The example with athletes running in an oval circle is a very good example to illustrate it. They are placed in different positions so that the distance they run is equal and the outcome of this equality is equity.
Omotola should be ashamed of herself. She says she does not believe in gender equality but she enjoys every privilege that women who fought for equality gave her. I don't care what she does with her husband, she should just be aware of the message she sends to women in a country, in which females have to go to court to be included in their father's inheritance just because they are female. She spent one year away from the office and was still given a pay rise like other colleagues who didn't miss a day from work? Nothing equal in that treatment IMO. Equality would demand that she spends another year to make up for lost time before getting her pay rise. Equity on the other hand considered that it was through no fault of hers that she was away from work and gave her the pay rise despite her working for one year. Same with the oval field runners. Equality would demand that they have the same starting and finishing line. But equity dug deeper and considered the actual race each person had to run, hence, gave them different starting points. And that's what equity does in all situations, looks at inherent conditions of each player and treats you based those peculiarities. Fairness and equity strives to achieve equality but equality will not always achieve equity. True equality will not cherry pick you know. Whatever a man is allowed to do, a woman should also be allowed to do and vice versa. that's equality if I understand you guys right and I tell you it's a receipe for disaster. I see women who want to go out topless because men walk shirtless. Is that sane? In summer, I will never allow my teenage daughter go to the park topless but I would certainly allow my teenage son. I have not treated them both equally but I have treated each with fairly. I disagree that the great women of old were all feminist and all fought for gender equality. I would say they fought for equity, treating women fairly was their aim and not equating men and women. A big mistake is to think that every independent, career oriented and successful woman is a feminist and that's why we think the great women of old were all feminists, it's also the same reason why you guys are disappointed with Omotola. I would say she has every reason to be proud of herself for making a huge success out of her career and family at the same time. It's a rare feat in this age, yet she is still humble enough to admit she lets her man run the show at home. She doesn't fight for equality at home. |

Family › Re: Where Are The Majority Of True Nigerian Men? by Kimoni: 10:24am On Nov 12, 2014 |
carefreewannabe: Really?
What did you get your pay raise for? For your absence? No carefree, she was given a raise for her past contributions, her current dedication to the job and the trust that she will continue to maintain high standards when she resumes. This is a typical example of how equity is a step ahead of equality because it seeks to be fair, if not for the pregnancy which is a natural cycle a woman has to go through, she would not have taken that time off and would have contributed the same level of productivity that her male colleagues gave to the organisation. Her bosses applied equity and treated her fairly, if they had applied equality, she would have lost out on the pay raise through no fault of hers and then become demoralized. Naijababe gave an another excellent example of how equity is different from equality in how athletes are not made to start from the same mark when running round an oval field. I didn't see any discussion on that. On a general note, let's not think that when a woman does not support feminism or gender equality, she is an enemy of female advancement or she wants women suppressed. I see that a lot on NL, eg the way Omotola was torn to shreds because she said she doesn't support equality. Some women just think equity gives everybody a better deal especially women. |
