BlueRayDick: No, dried fish stew won't do justice to ofada rice. It's best u serve it with the standard ofada sauce which is made with offals( shaki, abodi, roundabout, etc cut into small pieces), ponmo and boiled egg. Armyofone I use smoked panla fish. And ponmo Substitute sometimes Sometimes you want to eat ofada but no cash to get assorted. You can try it Debone the fish Fry abit on the palm oil with onion Add plenty iru Eggs and ponmo You are good to go. |

armyofone: Thank you so much BlueRay - it was advertised as - No odor 2lb 9.95 and Regular 2lb 15.95. I will buy both as a trial. I'm always curious about different rice.
Your explanations helped because I'm so tired of brown and wild rice. The original Ofada is very dark and has strong odour fa. When cooking one would feel nauseous. It is highly nutritious and Delish. The one that has no strong odor is agric.it is kind of light. In abeokuta here you will see different variants |

Akposy: I don't live abroad but lemme answer. Paprika is mostly used for its colour, it is not that hot. Chilli is that pepper we call shombo in 9ja. It is long. Kindly see the attached image. Those are the chilli I harvested from my garden. I used them to make paprika powder. Habanero is what is called Ata rodo in 9ja. It is the normal hot pepper they sell with tomato Cayenne is the same as habanero. Some people call it Scotch bonnet too.
I don't know about the others Habanero Is same with scotch bonnet Check. Chilli has different species long and short |

Romanoff: Please, this question is for abroad folks, what are the qualities and uses of these peppers and which do we have in Nigeria?
1. Paprika 2. Jalapenos 3. Chilli 4. Habaneros 5. Serrano 6. Poblanos 7. Cayenne 8. Shishito.
I know the most common pepper we have in Naija is the Scotch Bonnet.
I'd like to learn more about the listed peppers. Habanero is like rodo but another specie Chilli is like ata ojosi for here. |

SouthNigerian: Happy International Women's Day to the females out there.
When growing up as a child, my Mom faced a lot of discriminations in the hands of my Dad and his family.
She faced constant assaults physically, emotionally and spiritually. My Dad never wanted my Mom to fulfill her potentials because he felt his authority in the house would be challenged if my Mom become financially independent. My Dad's anti-progressive attitudes towards my Mom drained all her aspirations to become great in life.
She abandoned her lofty ambitions because she's a wife. She left the things that would have made her fulfilled because she's had to save her marriage. My parents lack of cooperation affected my upbringing and education(thanks to exposure and good friends). I could have been making South Nigeria proud if I had good education but hey, here we are
I discovered my Mom wasn't the only person in the league of subjugation by men. It came to my knowledge that women are slaved beings in that thing called Marriage. I discovered most men are envious of their women who seek to be free and great in life.
All of my childhood experiences and societal ideologies made me arrive at the conclusion that marriage is nothing but a trap for women. Crazy enough, women are the ones who seek marriage the most.
I have decided never to get married because I believe in great potentials that women harbor. I strongly believe in the strength of women. I believe in women's capabilities.
Many of you guys would say Nigerian Women are useless. How many of you guys would husband a woman who aspire to be as great as Okonjo Iweala, Folorunsho Alakija? How many of you doesn't mind having a wife who is richer and influential than you are? Well, me don't mind seeing my woman greater than I am. Her breakthroughs would only multiply my desire to be greater.
As for me, I have decided to shun marriage. Even if I have to get married in the future, she must be a woman capable of challenging me. What I mean by challenge here isn't the woman who quarrel me, I mean the woman who have a lot to bring on the table. A woman I can gain from intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and of course physically. She must be a woman ready to speak up for other women.
FEMINISM DOESN'T BRING AN END TO THE THOUSAND YEARS REIGN OF MEN IN THE SOCIETY. FEMINISM IS CREATING A FUTURE OF FREEDOM FOR BOTH GENDERS TO GO AHEAD AND FULFILL THEIR GREATEST POTENTIALS.
My Advice to Our Ladies Out There: Seek to be independent in all ramifications. Financial, emotional, spiritual, physical independence etc.
Choose to be the best you can be with track records, don't choose to be a hoe.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY. Op be careful what you wish for. Seek God |

BenkingEng: Update!!! Note: let the initial water be half of the pot. Don't add water again after the initial one is boiling, if you do, it will crack the bottles because they're already hot and it they cool suddenly, it will crack the bottles. Don't understand this part |
