Just felt I should chip this in....I have recieved a couple of mails of people complaining about sending mails to prospective supervisors without getting response: Please this stuff isnt small potatoes,I sent mails to over 500 possible supervisors(I am not joking) across Canada spread over 12 months. I put a call through to at least 200 of them!So no be beans!If you have convictions about what you doing being God's leading then you know it doesn't mean it will come easy! One of them later confessed to me that they recieve an average of 20 of such mails from Africa and Asia and dont bother reading through most times!But with prayer and doggedness you can make it.A friend of mine I told last month back home has gotten a supervisor in my faculty after persistently following up with calls on one of my Faculty supervisors,saw the supervisor yesterday and said he will take her!
So be persistent. ...that God has answered doesnt absolve you from putting in effort!And trust me....you'l find out its for the better...and please lets not be lazy in writing. ..I had tocdo about 10 different short research write ups to these supervisors!while searching. ..think about problems back home you want to solve for e.g on health: HIV,Mental health...you could write on effect of terrorism on Child's mental health for instance. And trust me,all came in handy for me....While some are still looking for topics in school now...I already have what I want to do....So brace up....try to enjoy the process. ...you'l laugh at the end!

My start date has passed which means I hav to wait till Sept 2014. As regards to d embassy, don't know the next step to take. Someone pls suggest to me. Thx.

Olami1224: going to there embassy is a good idea, But e-mailing them is more better as they have days which they attend to applicants, but am sure if you email them with all your details they will surely respond within 24hrs. .. All the best!

Bros.....emailing cant be better o....it should be done along with physical appearance at the embassy. ...except on pub days they don't have any set aside days for applicants...Cant begin to count for you how many have gotten their TRVs by knocking on their door.....
And please....lets try very our info sources before posting. ...for the sake of future readers!

Consultant practice....28k....and make photocopies of your biodata page and also ensure the passports you going with are uniform!
When the doctor starts asking you questions on your health. ...Na No oooo bros....and no talk too much in your response to warrant suspicions on your health ...even if health challenge dey....u go become canny property soon

I am in Health Science...but I have a neighbor who just grad from Management...I have someone here with a funding of over 20k even though he had 3.1....so supervisor getting is the koko!

You can check out my school. ...its research based Management course. ....fees around $20k but you will get funding of at least $14k or there about if admitted.

Briony84: Are you saying that its easier to get admission into a thesis based than a course based....even course based if I am not wrong...you still have to do a research paper at the end even though your required to find your project supervisor before the end of your first sememster...this is what I found out in MUN and U of A cos am applying to both of them

what I am saying is cos you are told to secure a supervisor before applying in the first place for thesis based. ...it increases your chances not necessarily easier. ...they rarely deny those who have supervisors. ....

You are only required to get one if you are applying for a research based program(thesis based). ...which is what I am currently doing....
The advantages will be that your chances of being admitted are increased and you have a higher chance of funding. ...but if it is course based you almost not likely to be told to get a supervisor.

You really cant appreciate them except you work in an office environment. some dey try for Ottawa sha but believe me they have a black origin or history. Nigerians dey represent well for here sha.
