I've been through a lot to agree with the 'wicked' part. I know what I've seen, even while pregnant with my only child, I've been acting all calm and submissive because of peace, but he's not changing.
Truth is, I tried my hands in about 3 businesses and they all failed, with me losing money that hubby refused to give. It was friends that gave money to me.
But when I was working, he was always so calm enough to collect from me, now that situation has turned, I became trash to him.

Where he's working presently, it was my slot from a friend that I gave to him, because they didn't require female workers then, only male. And I gave that slot to him. He too was jobless before, so he understands what I'm going through. Be patient till January, he said no, and left the house.

Contact with the East (Arabia) and the West (Europe) was very costly to almost all traditional African societies they interacted with.

To this day, South African women (and women from a few Nigerian ethnicities) go about their business bare breasted as the occasion demands. There's nothing to it...it just is. I don't mean to start a firestorm here but as far as I'm concerned, puritan Arab and European religious beliefs brought a repression about sexuality and the human body that has left us all more confused than we ever were before.

I'm no authority on this but traditional African societies were mostly agrarian - and all hands had to be on deck to work the fields...which I guess explains why the idea of housewives (in the sense it is described today) was alien (sort of) to traditional African societies.

I have some thoughts on this. I believe there is a tension in European (and I dare say Arab) culture on how it views the housewife: these cultures recognize the importance of the housewife in raising kids and tending to the home BUT they (particularly the Europeans/Westerners) have also simultaneously devalued that role...and conditioned us all to somehow view being a housewife (today) as undesirable.

The course of modern human history would perhaps have been very different if governments had decided to assign a value to the (unpaid) work done by housewives (in homebuilding and raising kids) and remunerated them accordingly. We would all probably have a very different view today about housewives if that were the case. Of course, that opens up a whole new set of arguments and I'm not sure I know nearly enough about the subject matter to argue either for or against.

Your Body is just a hardware/suit subject to Mother Earth nature of constant wears/tears. Even when you can repair or modify these hardwares, a time comes when, due to necessities/Earth's dynamism, you will need to outgrow/shed/Upgrade this body to the latest version with all the necessary physical features or risk lagging behind!
Your Soul, the real immortal you, is the OS/software that powers that body in this 3d interface Earth! Let me stop here.

No be only you, my guy. Since I was young, fear has caught me about hell. I live under the tyranny of religion, seeing everything through the prism of eternal suffering, which dulls me and makes some people tag me a mugu.

As in, I will see 100 naira on the roadside, instead of taking it and buying icecream and kuli kuli, I will leave it because it's not my own, and I do not want to go to hell

But I guess such fear was needed then, to make me who I am today. I do not fear hell anymore even if it exists, but it probably does not exist, alongside all the hell from religious books.

If any hell exists, then it's the one on this earth. If you are from a war-torn country, or a slave ship deceiving itself as a country, then you are in hell. If you are stupid, fail to have sense, and become the human sheep of other smart folks, you are in hell.

If you are addicted to many slave masters, from gambling to philandering, to drinking and drugs or smoking, you are in hell. To lessen your hell, live modestly, and don't be anyone's beech.

Enjoy yourself very well on earth. Practice stoicism, a philosophical concept that empowers you organically regardless of your wealth or social status. To be free like a bird should be the ultimate goal of everyone.

Not be restricted by a job you hate, handcuffed by additions, in debt, in jail, surrounded by people who use you for their selfish aims. to be truly free. That is heaven.
