ProgrammingRe: Help With Biometric Identification System by kodewrita(m): 11:42pm On Dec 20, 2007
I don't have problems with the coding, I have an SDK that works in Java,C# and even VB. I just need the hardware. Does anybody know a place I could get a biometric reader here in Nigeria(preferably Lagos and if you have a fairly used but working one, I'll buy. reply this post please. all the other guys in my class have turned their projects into research theses without any implementation. My case is a bit complex and different because I am not trying to write just a specific application of biometrics but I am also focusing on the use of Biometrics itself for other identification purposes which I don't intend to mention here.

I just need a READer. Will appreciate any help.

PoliticsDora Akunyili Versus Adedibu by kodewrita(op): 10:47pm On Oct 22, 2007
Lets know what you think about this. heard the woman went to ibadan and accused adedibu of frustrating the course of justice. she even threatened to close down the office in Ibadan. I am just posting this as a teaser. i want to find out what nigerians really think about having men who constitute themselves into lords and carve out their own mini-countries in a so called democratic country . If any others come to mind, please tell us more.

Christianity EtcRe: Birth Pains. Why For Female Animals? by kodewrita(m): 12:33pm On Sep 13, 2007
why does the sun rise? why do cats have night vision? cos God ordained it . As to whether female animals have birth pains, I have seen a female goat simply stand there and drop a kid as if "Go Billy, get it over with".
It just stood there and I did not hear any bleeting. So I don't really know about that. I am a guy anyway so thats not an issue( grin grin grin)
RomanceRe: My Ex Wants To Have Lunch And A Talk! by kodewrita(m): 12:27pm On Sep 13, 2007
Real rich. He wants to have lunch and a talk and if possible a consolatory roll in the sack.

Since you are already in a relationship which I assume you want to keep , I don't see the necessity for this question. Tell him you'd find the lunch quite expensive or something else. but keep away from him. fini
EducationRe: Does First Class Really Matter? by kodewrita(m): 5:58pm On Sep 09, 2007
babasin:
In Nigeria? How many First Class has become Governor, President. It is all bullshit.

It is your skill rather than some figure in your paper.

Nigeria has more uni-graduates than most western european countries yet see where we are!!
The fact that our country rewards mediocrity is not a reason to not strive for 1st class. The knowledge will be invaluable. I have found out that gaining knowledge is not about being able to regurgitate it but gaining more opportunities as a result.

this is a tricky one, if i found someone better then i will most certainly attend, if not then i will not go anywhere, the pain and jealousy will be intense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hee, sorry hen. As long as the sisters and brothers don't give me funny looks, i will go. Mind you , they might not see me until the crucial moment(This is Nigeria where passersby gatecrash parties on a regular basis.)
Music/RadioBowen Big Boy Heats Up Nottinghill Carnival. by kodewrita(op): 5:34pm On Sep 09, 2007

Are you kidding me? I am surprised this is a real post.

Anyway, since I have never been there and don't hope to go there, I feel the only descriptions we have are the ones in the scripture. Search your bible for references to Hades, Hell, Gehenna. You might hit a gold mine there.

Amen brother. I always like it when arguments are backed up with scripture. could you please tell us more.
ProgrammingRe: Ccan I Learn Java In A Month? Somebody Answer Me ! by kodewrita(m): 2:03pm On Sep 04, 2007
@Hurginnie what you said is true but if you've already mastered a C-like language, you can master Java within a month as long as you look for the similarities, differences and have the discipline to practise and learn the peculiarities of the language.

At long last, we managed to draw you back into the field inspite of your claims that programmin doesn't sell in nigeria.

@everyone else. I know from personal experience that this guy is good. make no bones about it. Seun is a very good programmer and in spite of the fact that he claims not to know C, as far back as I can remember he's among the best C programmers I have ever met. ffrom someone who doesn't give compliments easily realise that he really deserves it.

@ Seun, I am interested in how you intend to sell your software. As you know, i used tto consider myself an "Ecommerce expert" but selling software online seems to have itsown quirks and funny features.

ProgrammingRe: Computer Science: Where Do I Go From Here? by kodewrita(m): 12:32pm On Aug 18, 2007
And please in addition to what they ve told you, please learn from my own experience.

Don't become a two-week dilletante learning a new language every two weeks(of course, i gained an understanding of the similarities shared by all the major languages).

Please choose any of C++,C,Java, PHP or the Microsoft Languages and master it. Don't let people discourage you with old wives tales they heard from their incompetent elder brothers and sisters. And please start small and progressively become better.

NOTHING IS TOO SMALL TO BE LEARNT AND YOU WILL ALWAYS LEARN FROM TAKING ON BIG PROJECTS EVEN IF YOU DON"T FINISH THEM. I know , I ve been there.

SportsRe: American Football Is Better Than Soccer! by kodewrita(m): 4:24pm On Mar 05, 2007
The fact that YOUR sport is called american football says a lot about it. we never liked it and we'll never do.
The sheer artistry you see on a football(yes football not soccer) field is enough to make up for any emotions you see from the fans.
EducationRe: Bowen University, Iwo Hints & Tales Wanted by kodewrita(op): 4:13pm On Mar 05, 2007
ha ha . now we know the people that caused all the brouhaha.

Guess what!! Bowen has fashioned a new way to chase us out of hostels. they claim a security report has led them to the conclusion that cultists hold meetings in the hostel while everyone else is in chapel (the implication is that if you are caught in the hostel , you are a cultist and we all know what happens to cultists in bowen.).

@layi You can forget people like Kodewrita(my humble self) or Trae_z(he got kicked out because Seun did not like his posts even though he was one of the people invited over from www.Mobilenigeria.com).
But you definitely should not forget Ra(at a time she was the highest poster on the site closely followed by hotangel who we all chased albeit unsucessfully.).

Those were the days of me creating posts just so we could get a chance to argue to death.

@hotangel I am still pinning for you inspite of the gulf (an ocean and an admin who forbids PMs) between us. We'll see when next u are in nigeria to see your cozs in Ekiti .(funny i should remember that).
EducationRe: Does First Class Really Matter? by kodewrita(m): 6:43pm On Jan 19, 2007
It really does. getting one is like having a red carpet rolled for you. The only problem is assuming that EVERYTHING will be easy. I am currently on 4.68 in my school and I can assure you its not been easy but I can definitely see the difference between me and my mates.

A truly first class student is different not because he is better at passing exams but(for a computer scientist) he is better at applying them.

Remembering what a particular data structure looks like is useless if you can't write one.
At the end of the day, its what you do in the workplace that would determine whether your firstclass is a real or imagined headstart.
ComputersRe: Virus: Autorun Virus Terrorizing My School by kodewrita(m): 6:21pm On Jan 19, 2007
@cryptosuno I don't know what trick you did with that .png file but i'll definitely like to learn it.
We had similar problems with ravmon until we learnt how to terminate its process and kill the little monster. i am looking for other easy non-antivirus tricks for viruses and worms.
PoliticsRe: Who The Heck Is As Capable As Obasanjo? by kodewrita(m): 7:02pm On Jan 04, 2007
Me. I am as capable as Obasanjo.

I still don't know why people assume that because he has survived after eight years he is some kind of "god". He is just a man and democracy is a relay reace so stop this thread.
PoliticsRe: Census Results Out - More Males Than Females by kodewrita(m): 6:57pm On Jan 04, 2007

BusinessRe: When Should Founders Leave A Business? by kodewrita(m): 1:21pm On Dec 22, 2006
You should leave when

1. the organization has matured to the point where it can exist without you.
2. when your presence becomes a hindrance instead of a help.
3. when you don't feel any excitement any longer about the company's goals or vision e.g If you are no longer interested in being head of the world's top mercenary company.
