Uber driver does at least 2k miles a month .... Break down cost each oil change every month or 10k miles.....

Unpopular opinion. Just buy 20w50 from a reliable Mobil station and change religiously every 3000 miles.

Better to use original Mobil 20w50 that you change frequently than buy fake penzoil or whatever that you'll keep in your engine for long because you thought you got an original

You can still get a ride out of the island beaches by 10pm to mainland easily. From Badagry axis, na war. The crime rate at that axis is alarming.
Yes, traffic could pin you down on Ligali ayorinde, or road leading to Landmark, but you won't be afraid some loser will come out of nowhere to rob you in a gridlock.

Though I agree with you, the beaches are overhyped.. Esp. that alpha Beach.

Landmark is the only one that looks sane n its cos of a functional management.

I think 1/3 of Lagos was at the bish(beach) today, the traffic na World Cup and this affected most parts of the Island. Unfortunately it's within the city that is already congested. Hopefully when Lagos-Badagry road is completed people can visit and see what beaches should look like not all these over hyped dirty ones.

I entered Lagos again and started hustling on the 30th of Nov to benefit from the surge and gross #1M. At the end of the hustle yesterday see below my total gross for the month of December. Only surge can make It possible but it is not consistent as rightly said by the elders because your body and the car go suffer am and everyday/month no be Chrismass/December.
I entered Ladipo yesterday before I left Lagos and spent about #60k to but parts to put the car back to shape.
Meanwhile, where is the Ant Presido and his soldiers? If a lazy driver like me can gross this without strategy and I was never added to any Telegram or WhatsApp group because of the requirements then the Ants should be posting double of this my dashboard as from tomorrow.

As a Uber driver I try as much as possibpe to stay away from complex sugar, carbonated and caffeinated drinks. I drink at least 2big ragolis water or 4 small cans of water daily which is about 10-12 sachets of pure water daily.
This helps to prevent pile due to long hours sitting. The only challenge I'm currently having is my sight, its blur when I try reading credit alert... My sight is not as sharp like it used to be when i started Uber job... I'll be seeing an optician next year

It just seems all the small money I make driving bolt goes into repairing my car. Though I must admit that my car wasn’t in the best shape to begin with sha.

After changing my compressor and condenser recently, I have now changed my engine mounts that were making the car vibrate so so bad. The vibrations were bad men, almost like the engine was gonna fall apart, lol.

Out of the four, one was so bad, all the rubber had gone off. The other three are pictured below.

You can see how they have tears in them and the one with hydraulic fluid inside was busted from below. So you can imagine how the mounts with the tears were when the weight of the engine was on them. They probably were just giving way allowing for almost metal to metal contact.

Honestly I can’t believe this is my same car. So smooth in reverse and drive now, you hardly know the engine is on.

Now we move on to the suspension and transmission fluid, chai!

I just want to be able to save without dropping so much on my car.

How does bolt or how can one handle a situation whereby one is very close to a rider’s pick up point and he or she cancel the request.

Even after one has called them to let them know you are on your way.

Imagine driving more than 7km and when almost there they cancel.

The last one pain me enter blood, I feel like calling back the rider and insulting the hell out of her.

Airtime, fuel, and time wasted just like that.

Does bolt not compensate for this?

Due to the “pepper dem” posting i usually see here, i also tried grossing the best i can yesterday.. As per my office no dey open na, i set out early 7:10 am , rested in a place from 2- 4 :15 due to fatigue Had some mad migrain in between (as i was fighting the sleep by noon). Closed 11: 25pm or so

Last last i grossed 40k , i dont know how you all do this on a steady, but one thing i know is that this shit aint healthy if thats what you do. Your health is important….

There is an oil spec on the cap, but according to my manual (attached), 20w 50 is acceptable in this climate.

Yeah dropping the pan is definitely not typical maintenance, but it was my fault mostly for not changing the oil on time. Even now my oil is very dirty, meaning I have been procrastinating the oil change and dropping the pan is for my peace of mind, so the engine doesn’t knock. After that, if I keep up with regular oil changes, which I always say I’ll do but never quite do, the engine should be relatively clean.

I’m sure there are better oils out there, that may allow for longer oil change intervals, but the total oil doesn’t fall under this category, so though it is acceptable, I reckon it just has to be changed very often, like maybe every 2000-3000km, just a guess.

As per the transmission, I thought some fluid will still be left over after draining? Anyways as you said, there is a dipstick. I’m so thankful mine has a dipstick and is not one of those new ones that are “sealed”, so if anything I can always gauge it.

The plan though was to do a cold fluid drain since the fluid volume varies with temperature. Catch all the fluid, measure what came out and put back precisely that amount of new cold fluid.

Just drain and service again with new filter and oil you usually use.

Normally when yiu change brand engine will smoke for some time and stop. Again the cold oil on a hot engine can also cause it to smoke.
