Benwallt:SMH... The present and past governments of all political parties are responsible for making fake videos and fake news to relentless fester. They (the DSS and the Federal government headed by the current President in Nigeria) have all behaved very irresponsibly by NOT disrupting and severely punishing the activities of all the well-known fake videos creators under the existing cybercrime laws. |
Jeezuzpick:Point of correction. There's NO where in my post that I profiled an entire people. I was very CLEAR and gave specific examples with evidence from the NDLEA and media over the years. The thrust of my original post was to emphasize that NOT everyone or so-called "billionaire" trader or big money spender that buys things at any high cost is legit. This has been proven over and over again with the multiple arrests of dishonest people that projected themselves in the society as "legit" millionaire importers, traders or entrepreneurs, but turned out to be armed robbers, kidnappers, fraudsters or drug barons. Because of that, I've STOPPED taking people at face value. I worked with a major multinational company in the oil and gas sector while I lived in PH from the 1990s as well and had deep interactions with folks and friends of all ethnicities from Rivers, Imo, etc. |
HonNL:Sarcasm... ![]() |
OLAADEGBU:He said, “Yesterday, the 14th day of February 2024, just before midnight, the office of the Governor on homeland security in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Abia Command conducted a successful joint operation on the premises of one Miss Adaobi Nweke at number 23 Arochukwu Street by Calabar Road where the joint team seized a very large amount of prohibited drugs, like cocaine, cannabis, methamphetamine which is called mkpurumiri and cash sum of more than N500,000.” He alleged that Adaobi, a lawyer by profession and daughter of a late drug kingpin in Umuahia, Joe Kin Jagwa has damaged many youths through her illicit activities. Mr. Alajemba stated that the operatives also raided a popular hotel around Downbelow in Umuahia. ~~~~~~~~~ She (the criminally bankrupt female lawyer and drug barons) is originally from Oyi in Anambra State.

naptu2:That's really impressive. Thanks for the info here... It'll go a long way. |

ednut1:Lol... Damn. |
officialwdhtv:This incident took place in Uganda. |
Jeezuzpick:You sound a bit impressionable and naive. Making money from where and how? Read more from the screenshot below and other crime sourcrs then you will know what's up. Many of these guys who claim to be rich Alaba International market traders have been busted repeatedly for more than 25 years now by the NDLEA and security agencies for being drug barons and using their houses within estates in Lagos (Ajao Estate, Satellite Town, Iba New Site), Ogun, Asaba, Anambra (Ozubulu, Nnewi, Obosi) and elsewhere to produce the very toxic, cancer-causing hard drug called methamphetamine (ice or mkpurumiri) in mini underground labs, and they have recruited drug pushers who work for them. These facts can be verified from multiple sources online and offline including official NDLEA data. So, don't be fooled or deceived by those you claim buy foods even if the "cost is very high," and don't be deceived by all the fake packaging from a lot of these criminals who call themselves "billionaires" but are actually into deep criminal enterprise.

chisomkachy:“As a result of some of the recent reports from the CBN, over the course of the last week, about $1.8bn came into the markets. “As long as the country can sustain a positive trajectory, Nigeria will get out of its economic woes and the foreign exchange market will begin to moderate itself,” he said. |
nairalandkachy1:I largely agree with this. Those Northern states have fantastic ease of doing business. I'd love to see more of what parameters were used here. |
politicoNG:Shortchanging States and Nigeria in general by criminals through illegal mining and exportation of raw solid minerals. |
politicoNG:Capital importation into the country is increasing, according to the latest NBS report. In the fourth quarter of 2023, Nigeria recorded a 66.27 percent increase in capital inflow, compared with Q3, before Cardoso’s arrival at CBN. In Q3, capital inflow was $654.65 million. It rose to $1.09 billion in Q4. Alhaji Atiku will agree that the rise in capital inflow suggests massive investors' confidence in Nigeria and the policy direction of the Tinubu administration. Juxtaposed with the policy options being implemented by the CBN, Atiku’s alternative of a controlled floatation of the Naira is similar to the policy of Godwin Emefiele, when an estimated $1.5 billion was spent monthly to shore up the Naira, while arbitrage or round tripping went on unhindered. Sadly, it was perpetrated by people close to the corridors of powers. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy February 18, 2024 |

UtopiaDream:Bump. Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III, his wife Olori Atuwatse III and their children are currently in Ghana for a short break to celebrate the yuletide season, Igbere TV reports. They were on Thursday hosted at the Presidential Villa in Accra, Ghana by President Nana Akufo-Addo. A post on the monarch’s Instagram page said the reception was devoid of official red tapes and protocol. “It is hoped that interactions of these kind, will further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Ghana and deepen alternate channels of engagement between the two countries,” the post further read. The 37-year-old king was crowned as the 21st Olu on August 21 at Ode Itsekiri, the ancestral home of Iwere people in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State. |
opamoses1:. These are interesting observations. |
opamoses1:Is the video on YouTube? Can you share the link with me? I've been to Cote d'Ivoire by air before and they say AKWABA there in Abidjan because a branch of the Akan people called the Baoules migrated to modern Cote d'Ivoire centuries back from Asanteland in modern Ghana. |
scholes0:Really? That's interesting. I was reading about the migration of the Ewe online and it indicated that the Ewe folks of Togo and Ghana came from Oyo in modern Nigeria. That's how I ended up landing on this NL thread via Google search. So, the Ga-Adangbe folks too of Greater Accra, Labadi, Tema, etc, are related to Yoruba people of Nigeria. |
scholes0:True that. Funnily I found out than Akan is derived from Kan which means FIRST (i.e., the first group of folks to arrive in modern Ghana). Okan is means ONE in Yoruba language. AKWABA means "welcome" in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire and EKAABO means "welcome" in Yoruba as well. The similarity is uncanny but then Yoruba descendants in the Ga region did have trade interactions with the Akan folks (Asante, Fante, Akwuapim, etc) right from centuries back. |
naptu2:@naptu2 Indeed, you made valid points here. I believe here and now that since rape and other forms of violence against women majorly affect women physically and mentally, the PUSH for major reforms MUST come from women with the support of the few men who genuinely have empathy towards female causes. Most men generally tend to engage in poosyfooting and do not think about deep female issues like rape, menstrual cramps, post partum disorders, etc, until it hits home and affects a close female relative or friend of theirs. Emergency hotlines and contact numbers are key towards getting to report these enervating crimes. For me, I'm just tired of reading cases of brutal rapes or gang rapes by hood gangs, campus gangs, armed robbers, date rapes. I want action against rapists... Including real castrations or chemical castrations with hard labor and where murder occurs, then capital punishments by electric chairs or lethal injections must be applied in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. Just like you've stated, let's hope DSVA's involvement in this situation will kickstart a massive revolution that'll help to remove male psychopath rapists off the streets for good. Back in the early 1990s, the daughter of a parish priest in England was gang raped by a group of 4 drunken young men in their 20s. Those idiots knocked on the door and forced there way in when the priest came to open the door. They viciously beat up the priest and tied him up and proceeded to sexually molest the daughter via buggery. She later told a popular UK magazine years later (as part of her healing process and forgiveness towards the rapists who were eventually arrested and jailed) that the buggery was the most humiliating part for her since she was a virgin at that time. That's when I truly began to hate rapists tbh. |
DaddyRochie1642:Just after 12 midnight, Dec 16, 2010... She passed on in my arms. She had a commanding presence. I was shocked when the doctor who is a family friend said she had translated. I kept on telling him to check again... "Maybe she only just lost consciousness," but the doc said there was no pulse reading. What I feared most had happened... Then it hit hard. It took me slightly over two years to fully get over the shock. I used to try not to be "too close" to my loved ones so that when the inevitable happens, I won't feel the very intense pain I felt. But then, time will tell. |
naptu2:It's obvious from these screenshots here that this rapist has deep mental trauma and is a thread to the larger society as a former policeman. Regular mental health checks are key to sustainable living. |
naptu2:This dude ought to have been picked up since early 2023, now he's gone ahead to commit more crimes especially brutal rapes! I read up there in a screenshot were someone said a lot of actors (actresses) coming back from late night shoots have been raped or attacked with knives and the threat of an acid attack. This is why I get pissed off when women don't report these cases on time... More women get endangered and attacked if reports are not made ASAP. Victims can then go for professional medical and mental therapy. |
naptu2:Damn! This is surreal... |

GreaterFuture:@GreaterFuture, The OP said it's his father's handwriting (and NOT a repost). It was written when his father was constructing his personal house as of 1992. It's good you're doing some fact-checking here. |
Gjrich:President Bola Tinubu, at a meeting with state governors on Thursday, had approved the constitution of a committee to explore the modalities for the establishment of state police. The Nigerian Senate has stated that the federal parliament is ready to review the constitution to accommodate state police if the decentralisation of the security system would end insecurity. President Bola Tinubu, at a meeting with state governors on Thursday, had approved the constitution of a committee to explore the modalities for the establishment of state police. The police is currently on the exclusive legislative list in the constitution, barring state governments from establishing state police. |
jhubril:That's a living example of the subject matter of this thread. Off-grid (whether solar, wind, etc) is indeed the way to go in any event. |
