bigtt76: This is totally ridiculous with every semblance to the colonial days when the slave masters keep slaves for pleasure. Point is did he need to insult the poor woman and only retract steps later after being bashed nationwide on social networks? We should not applaud this and the woman should be advised to return such money cos it makes mockery of the woman's status as well as those of millions nationwide suffering under the sun becos of these thieves we call politicians #nonsense@bigtt76: Take heart, peoplelike you are in the tiny minority in this country! You can see the way most of our people are insulting you? You see what penury, coupled with "poverty of the mind and soul" is causing? They just cant see what you are talking about, all they can focus on is the the "dash-money" he gave the woman! See the way they are all rolling over themselves over Two million naira (4,000GBP) like they have never seen money before in their whole life! (Maybe they have not, actually!! ) These low-lifes forget that the money actually BELONG TO THEM in the first place and Oshiomole is just a "temporary, political custodian" of their common wealth! These people did not wonder what will make a Governor, somebody of his age, exposure and responsibility, to utter such abominable words (Go and Die) to a widow whose source of livelihood is being destroyed? Was he "Power drunk" or intoxicated with the usual "Ogogoro from Otuoke" when he made those statements? I can understand if such statements were made by a "younger person" under a different circumstance but for someone like Oshiomole who was a labor leader for many years and supposedly "on the side of the masses"? (Give a man MONEY and/or POWER and you will see his TRUE CHARACTER) Well, it is okay for OBJ to steal 16 Billion meant for power projects while you all languish in darkness ..and he can apologize, he is human afterall! It is well for Ministers to steal billions and Assembly men to allocate hundreds of Millions to themselves while asking you to suffer for fuel subsidy, this and that ...and apologize after since it is human to err! ![]() Really, in this country, no one has a sense of responsibility anymore, not the leaders, not the followers! You can do anything as long you can say sorry and offer them some stewpid "crumbs of cash"! What a joke!! This is what abject poverty does to human mentality and morality! Next time you get INTENTIONALLY DEHUMANISED by someone in power, what you'll get in-return is "a sorry and some small cash"! Thats is how much they are worth! ![]() Lastpage! @the paid crew (APC or PDP or the outrightly asinine ones): Relax, no need to get worked-up, just wait for next time and let the Governors convoy run you down or run over your family members and you will get your own 2Million naira, l wont deny you of that. So Chillax. ![]() |
LRNZH: I am versatile enough to draw from my wide and varied knowledge, experience and logical reasoning ability hence I won't let you and ROSSIKE mislead some Nairalanders with your narrow mindedness.God bless you, this is the kind of "mindset" we need from our citizens, whether they are "exposed" or not! Not some ignorant, local arze-lickers who will yarn ANYTHING, no matter how illogical, for some crumbs falling-off the table of their OPPRESSORS! Lastpage! |
what attitude? You are one of those who thinks the immigi officials should worship you because you just arrived from abroad? Give them your passport, get it stamped, move on, get your bag, face customs, simple. Which attitude?
...and YOU are one of those who dont know their left from their right and do not think that an Immigration official, being a PUBLIC OFFICER, needs to learn "courtesy and customer service skills",.... to do their job without surreptitiously asking for "OGA, WHAT DID YOU BRING FOR US"! Truly, with peeps like you, the phrase that "people (Nigerians) deserve the kind of silly leaders they get", is definitely very correct. If it was truly "Give them your passport, get it stamped, move on, get your bag, face customs, simple" .... as you said, it wont take two hours just to claim your baggage at Nigerian airports while you'll spend a maximum of 10-minutes at any other international airport worldwide, with even ten-times more the passenger traffic, than ours! No one expects "any special treatment" from any official, all they are being asked is to do their work efficiently, courteously and without acting like they are not paid to do it. ![]() Lastpage! BTW: Let no one deceive him/herself: The ONLY REASON foreign investors "pour-into" Nigeria (if we can really say "pour-into" , is because they know and we all know that Nigerian is the bastion of corruption where very QUICK AND EASY MONEY CAN BE MADE!. Who does not like a "quick kill"? Has any one never wondered why these "foreign investors" have never built a POWER PLANT in Nigeria yet they build it in other countries where the need for such is even less dire? ![]() Who wants to work in a country where both your house and your business is run on "Fuel generators" ....when you can do same business in sane environments with constant power supply? ...IF NOT FOR CORRUPTION? Lets get real please and stop deluding ourselves. |
Sagamite: First of all, I would say he is lucky he is not living on some certain Western countries because he would be told that this does not matter, he needs to continue paying for the kids. Not true, the courts will not force him to be responsible for a child that is not his own. If the reverse were to be the case, them you would probably be made to pay for the support of your neighbours child, if the real father absconds! Infact, l knew of someone who "suspected" that one of the children was not his own but the wife (who was in custody of the children) refused to agree to a DNA test. The man simply refused to "pay support" and when taken to court for "as usual", he presented paper evidence of his various attempt to get the former spouse to agree to a DNA test and claimed that he cannot support a child except he is tha father of that child. Court immediately ordered a DNA test which went on to show that he was NOT the father! Court asked the woman to furnish them with address and identity of the "true father" so that he can be asked to take up hsi responsibility. Woman was truly shamed in the community, .... as she was a "Church Worker"! ![]() Lastpage! NB: easy with the gutting of the poor father that realizes he has been taken for a ride, like they say, it is only the woman that knows who the father of her child is, though she may chose to "re-arrange" the owner! |
it would be nice if you did the dna test, it came out positive, then you did it again some decades later and it came out negative. But the children are millionaires by that time. or vice versa- the dna test came out negative, then some decades later you got a positive result but the kids are CEOs of a fortune 500 company. I wonder who would be smiling then?
See this one, EVERYTHING IS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND MATERIALISM! Nikapetrelli: Too bad,u denied him n later accepted. No give gal belle if u neva get guts to own up.Cute sonThat is EXACTLY what happens when some woman bleeps around .... and the guy is aware of it ......but "plays along"! The day "Belle matter enter" is the day the guy will remember her escapades with other men and wonder (rightly so) if it was his sperm that did the damage! Well thank God DNA testing is becoming cheap and prevalent! Too many grown-up b*st*ards running around causing mayhem! Lastpage! |
JulianBond007: oh please shut the hell up! This is a democratic government and Jonathan has no right to arrest any of his critic. Obama gets insulted online on daily basis and he has never arrested anyone. Why is Jonathan making himself a dictator? In fact, if Obama was to arrest EVERYONE that insulted him (one even called him a liar, to his face, in a public meeting!), not less than half of all Americans will be in jail by now, especially the Tea-Party folks! You see, only "small minded people" fight back using "state power", when insulted ........ because they know there is some truth in the insult and they probably deserve it. The mature minds will either "address the issues you raised in your insult" (if they know it is true) ... or will just ignore your isnsult, since they know you are just rabbling like Bingo! ![]() The thing is our president and most of his accomplices belong to the latter group. As for OBJ, l have never seen any Nigerian President so derided (especially by his own Yoruba tribe) like OBJ! Right from the days of Fela Anikulapo Kuti (Unknown Soldier), to Gani Fawehinmi and he was even roundly rejected twice by his own people (during 1999 elections and during his "third term" fiasco! Up till now, if "they can just land OBJ", you will know how much venom they reserve for that OTTA Chimp! Jonathan may not have had shoes growing up but abject poverty at times changes the mindset to that of a greedy beast! ![]() Lastpage! |
blank: This Export1, you are very annoying. Why did you not show the back of the car so that we could see the damaged boot. $1,700 my foot. Buy and drive indeed. There is a link provided below the post for you to click and browse "full photos" of all angles of the vehicle. WHY DID YOU NOT CLICK ON THE LINK HE PROVIDED? .... (can we attribute this to mental laziness?) And does it not occur to you that once the "ENGINE" of a vehicle is sound and working, ..and its got FOUR TIRES, it can actually be "Run and Drive" whether or not the whole backside, up to the rear wheels, is cut-off completely? I know that quoted price is ridiculous but you need to understand that the seller has taken into consideration how much you (or they themselves) will need to spend to put that car in "perfect condition", back on the road and they might have decided its not worth their time and effort and will just write it off at a small amount (Salvage amount) which is what you are seeing! If you are expecting to buy a perfect car of that type for $1,700 dollars then you are surely deluded (though you can get some very old 1999-2001 small cars for even less than that price and they have no damage at all, just very high mileage). Anyway, l just dont think you should criticize and condemn something just because you are ignorant about it. Also beware of GREED.... its a bad vice! ![]() Lastpage! docadams: That is the crux of the issue. If only CAC could be compelled to publish the names of the owners then we might have an idea of where we are headed.Read-Up on the Freedom of Information Act .... and MAKE A REQUEST FOR THOSE DETAILS. Gbawe: They are now complaining. Only in Nigeria. Did these shallow and opportunist profiteers, with nil power sector knowledge, not do their feasibility study to see what they are getting into? Wait, I forget it was AGIPs, oligarchs and callous profit-seekers who won ' transparent bids' for conceded power Stations and utilities. While l HATE turning every serious discussion into a PDP Vs. APC or Yoruba Vs. Igbo trivialisation, l agree with the points you made up there and would like to add more, reading what was posted and the response of that woman and the DISCO operators: New Owners: New owners of electricity generation and distribution companies on Wednesday reeled out the multifaceted challenges confronting them since they took over the power firms from the Federal Government. These DISCOS must be "ALIENS" that just came from space and were handed the "Power Contracts" .... or maybe it is poor me that negotiated on their behalf! Were they not aware that Nigeria was NOT (and may never in the nearest future, unless we do something drastic about infrastructure on ground) GENERATING ENOUGH ELECTRICITY? Okay, they felt all they need to do is just increase the "FIXED CHARGE" regularly and they have a steady stream of income without lifting even a finger! Overwhelming my black butt! ![]() New Owners: They also denied claims that they fired about 50 per cent workers of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria, stressing that the employees were retrenched by the Bureau of Public Enterprises. These people like to play on our intelligence using "semantics"! Whether you (The Disco) fired them, or they were fired by BPE, the bottom line is that about 50% of PHCN have lost their jobs. Now, in any privatisation exercise, there may be need to "downsize" as long as it is not done out of greed and the staff requirement for smooth operation is taken into consideration since l have never seen where GHOSTS come down to do the work! ![]() New Owners: The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Kano Distribution Company, Dr. Jamili Gwamna, said power allocation to his Disco had been far below expectation, a development that had decreased the firm’s revenue “drastically.”This is to tell you that "a man that is down needs fear no falling"! Since you cant supply electricity that you are charging me for, your "disconnection threat" is utterly useless! You have no bargaining chip in your hand. Same goes for the Pre-Paid Meters. We dont get power, we dont recharge our cards and you dont get our money but these crooks have increased the fixed charge on those pre-Paid Meters, not a few times now, in an effort to get free money. In Lagos, the "Local Purchasing Areas" for these recharge cards have been closed down till january (as they said) and you have to spend as much as #1,000 on transport to Ijora or another HQ, just to buy a #3,000 recharge card! Imagine that 'unnecessary extra cost" Funke Osibodu: The Director, Benin Electricity Distribution Company, Mrs. Funke Osibodu, observed that there was widespread confusion in the public as touching the handover of PHCN to private operators. This woman is a stewpid she-goat! *Is it today that the public has been paying NEPA/PHCN/DISCO Bills? *Did the Government not advertize that the allocation of Pre-paid meter is FREE? *Is the Meter not a 'billing Tool" of the Company collecting the Bill? Why must we bear the cost of a tool you need to collect your fees if we are to also pay the fee? This is like a Supermarket asking the customer to come and pay for the cost of their "Teller Machines" or a bank asking you to buy a Computer so that they can serve you in the banking Hall! I winder how dolts like this woman can open their filthy mouth in public and spew trash. Again, we also have electricity distributors in other parts of the world and the norm is that they instaall the "Meter for Free" in your apartments or house. Same for Water meters! If the have any challenge, they should direct it at Govt with whom they NEGOTIATED their Lucrative Deal. They should Perform and stop whining! Incompetent and greedy fools I tire for the wickedness of these profiteers and opportunists o! Lastpage! |
How did this Poster end-up ruining a beautiful write-up (her thoughts) with the cancer of most Nigerians - TRIBALISM? Is it your intent to infer that only an "Awusaa Nigerian woman" reasons or should think and act in this manner?
The school authorities took the decision following the failure of the ASUU National Executive Council which met in Kano at the weekend to put to an end to the strike. A statement issued by the institution’s Registrar, Mr. Sam Egwu, said academic activities will resume in all the university campuses on Tuesday. The statement said, “Having waited patiently for Federal Government and ASUU to resolve the impasse occasioned by the over four months strike embarked upon by the union to no avail, the management of EBSU on Monday, November 26 resolved to reopen the school. “We therefore inform all concerned that teaching and learning will begin fully on Tuesday, 26th, November, 2013. This is to enable us cover what we have lost to the strike.” http://thenationonlineng.net/new/ebsu-withdraws-ASUU-strike/
First, Let us put this in perspective: The Government and ASUU rae negotiating but have not been able to REACH AN AGREEMENT.... in the last four months. Now, IS ASUU THE ONE TO BE BLAMED FOR THIS? Secondly, is ASUU not a REPRESENTATIVE OF AND NEGOTIATING ON BEHALF OF EVERYONE IN THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM (including the Lecturers and students of EBONYI state University)? Wont they benefit from a well funded educational system? Wont they benefit from proposed autonomy of Universities? Wont they benefit from improved remuneration of Tutors , improved infrastructures and kitting of University research Laboratories? Wont they..... l can go on and on! If the answer is YES, then the action of EBSU can best be described as that of a "TURNCOATS, BACK-STABBERS AND TRAITORS"! No one likes the strike to go on but when a "deal" is just around the corner, ...and knowing that the type of govt and leaders Nigeria has are those who are not pro-active in thinking but who only language of understanding is STRIKE ACTION, strike have become inevitable and it is same in all other sectors of the economy. You will be shocked that once ASUU is able to achieve some of its "set demands", this same traitors (Sam Egwu and EBSU) will be the first to stand-up and demand to benefit from the deal reached! Anyway, l am not surprised at their action and position or is it not the same 'University' where the "CLUELESS ONE" got his Ph.D from? kenonze: l love JW but disagree with their ideas on blood transfusion. I am a Doc with yrs of experience. JW accept other components of blood that do not have red cells. but they failed to understand that "blood " has different components of which the red cells are just a fraction of it. it truely they wanna reject blood transfusion, they should reject it in totality not in fraction.kenonze, I am not a J.W but l dont accept blood transfusion as well. WHY: The Word of God said "Of the Blood, you shall not eat". Some will say if l dont put it into my mouth, l have not "eaten it" but l will remind them that mouth is not the only means of eating (feeding), even sick people of little children and those in Guantanamo are forced fed by "tube" through the nose, and it has the same effect as 'eating from the mouth. You can inject food using needles and you can even "smoke' it. Just one of many means of "eating" something. Now, l understand the dangers inherent in acute blood-loss or need for more blood volume. The thing is, depending on your "level of fate", you may want to ask yourself if you have that level of fate to follow God's word to the letter. Remember, he said "if we have (enough) faith", we will command the mountain to move into the sea and it will obey! I can attest to the fact that at least three different times, l have signed a "No Blood" for myself and my family, when Doctors insist we must accept blood. In those cases, we got over it without blood transfusion, even the Doctors shake their head in disbelief! (one, during wifeys C.S operation and she lost a lot of blood, two when baby came very prematurely (27wks) and again when l cut my veins, and lost a lot of blood when doing some home DIY with Tiles) Now, l think you are referring to "alternatives to blood" like "Blood expanders" which they have researched very well and aided in developing to a level whereby it can substitute blood transfusion. All the same, l will not force/push anyone to abstain from blood transfusion, in the face of death since their level of faith might not carry them through. Like Jesus said in the Bible will say, "Your Faith has healed you". I've seen people who took the blood and eventually die! It boils down to whether we value our life more, than following God's express command. ![]() |
Pee2k3: Do u acknowledge Jesus Christ as God? john 1:10-12. if u dnt den u ar nt Christian simple."Figuratively and Metaphorically", ......YES! Just like you would look at a "Child" who resembles his father so much ..........and call him a "CARBON COPY"! But we all know that you cant carbon-copy a human-being (Cloning is an attempt though). But in "reality", they are still two, separate and distinct entities. In that sense, Jesus is referred to as "God" .......But there are so many instances in the Bible where Jesus himself made "clear and irrefutable distinction" between himself, and his heavenly "Father" and emphasized that their relationship is that of "Father and Son". For example, when he resurrected, he refused to let them touch him saying he needs to ascend to his father in heaven. He prayed to "His father" asking that the "cup pass over him but if it is his will, then let thy will be done, just before he was crucified. Take your own Bible and read the following passages. The words in bracket are mine, references l inserted to explain more to those who might find it difficult to follow the train of thought in the passages Phillipians 2: 5-11:Your attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ (6) who being in "very nature of God", did NOT CONSIDER EQUALITY with God something to be grasped.... (9) Therefore god "exalted him" to the highest place ....above all name ...(11) and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is "LORD" , to the glory of "GOD THE FATHER". John 1: 1-14 ~ In the beginning was the "word", and the word was WITH GOD, and the "word" was (a) God. (2): "He" was with God in the beginning. (Note: that Jesus was called "The word of God" because through him all things are made from the beginning, Jesus was with God and the article "He" was used for Jesus and it shows a material entity that was with God, in the beginning. (14): The "word" became flesh and made his dwelling amongst us (Jesus takes on human flesh). We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only who came FROM THE "FATHER" (God), full of grace and truth. I Corinthians 15; 22-28: For as 'in Adam' all die, so 'in Jesus Christ' all will be made alive. (23): But each in his own turn: Christ (first, as he resurrected), then the first fruits (144,000), then when he (Christ) comes, (next is) those who belong to him. (24): Then the "end" will come when he (Jesus) hands over the Kingdom to GOD THE FATHER, after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power (28): When he has done this, then the Son (Jesus) himself will be made "subject" to him (God) who put everything under him (Jesus) so that God (father) may be all in all. So my friend, l am not hear to support J.W (l dont fancy them that much, despite the hug of one of them here!), l am here to share with you, what is found in the Bible so that we ma both gain accurate understanding of who God is, who Jesus is and the relationship between both. It is a completely False teaching to say Jesus is the "same entity" as God, his Father. Yes, they work together as one, for a single purpose but they are still not one single entity. Lastpage! BTW: I am appalled by the level of ignorance most people here are spewing about J.W's and the Bible in general. Dont you people ever read and meditate on your Bible apart from Sunday-Sunday worship?! If you dont know teh J.W's, or dont understand what they preach, it is better you "study them and their beliefs", go back to your own house or church, open your Bible and compare what they teach you with what the Bible says. if you have 'issues' still, call them back and have a "Bible fight" with them till you get a clear understanding of the Bible's position on such issues. You dont have to convert or agree with them at the end of the day but you will surely improve your understanding of the Bible ... and that is good for your soul. |
Okay, l am an "independent Observer" and can tell you some home truths about these issue at hand. I am "independent" because "I am NOT a member of J.W sect" ..... but l am a Christian who has had at the minimum, 35 years of "study and association" with the Witnesses. I have read and studied with them, every book they have published, from the toddler "My Book of Bible stories", to the most recent adult ones like Revelation... My parents died as practicing J.W.s and l have brothers and sisters who are 'elders' amongst them as l write now. All l am saying is I know them wella wella. But as a "non-baptized" J.W, l also know other Sects very well as l have mixed/attended church services with them and examined their teachings and still do till date. MY VERDICT: Pros: J.W's are one of the best Christian sects available. They preach the Bible with fervor, they are very stubborn and persistent when it comes to obeying the Bible injunction to "preach the Good News to all". Thats is probably why you abuse them today and they are back next week, like nothing happened. "Majority of them are not into get-rich quick schemes that other churches practice, they dont scare you with "fire and brimstone-stone", just so they can pinch your pocket! They are the only sect that actual dedicate a large part of their time to under-studying God's word, the Bible (l guess that is why they would win any Biblical discuss since they know what they are talking about, most times.).They preach House-to-House as the Bible commands. To some very large extent, they will excommunicate a "thieving Brother" very quickly, unlike other Pentecostal Churches and Catholics church where "Thieves and treasury Looters" are elevated and given High-Seat and Titles. They dont serve God by fear-mongering (Eternal hell fire, dont drink, e.t.c) but they have their own issues as you will see below. They dont "erect special chair" for anyone (not even the most revered elder in the congregation) as anyone who has business of "delivering a lecture that day, is entitled to seat upfront close to the pulpit or anywhere for that matter. They preach and practice "Equality", as per that. Hardly do you know where their "offering Box" is! They dont hammer "Money!! Money!! Money!!!" during their services but just 'encourage' you to do your offering in "one SINGLE SENTENCE" and no more (yet they are not broke! Finally a no-brainer: They are the only Religious Organisation that dont use their "Church Service" to be a nuisance to the environment! You can live next door to their Kingdom Hall/Church but even though they use Amplifiers and Speakers, they would never turn it so high as to inconvenience you! .... unlike our other "cash-and-carry" churches and Mosques! Cons: They are excessively arrogant, they think they are the only "chosen one" (reminds me of Jose Mourinho!). They are unnecessarily rigid in their daily life and have "doctrines" which portray them as "followers of the letter of the law" (more like the law is an as.s some times!). For example, they say a woman should not wear Trouser but "abroad", l see their members wear same Trouser! They get some "Biblical facts" very wrong! In their effort to prove superior, they "over-do" certain things (No Christmas is an example, but they forget that Jesus did not use Microphone and Amplifiers which they make use of in their Kingdom Worship hall, as of today! They want to "copy verbatim", everything as was done by Jesus or his Apostles! ... though not a bad thing to attempt but we all know it is IMPRACTICAL. At times, they tend to be snobbish and worst of all are those amongst them who have "limited knowledge" of the Bible. They can be very controlling and busy-body. Some of their members are pretentious when it comes to "se*x"! ![]() They'v made a lot of "gasp and clear misses" (outrightly wrong Predictions ) in the past but as knowledge is increasing, l think they have adjusted and wont stick their neck out anymore (less we wringe it for them ).Finally, they should respect my right to have a siesta on a cool evening! Knock just once, if there is no answer, dont start "dusting your feet" on my door or else thunder fire you! Just walk away and try another day! In all, l will give them 80%. If they can work on their "negatives", l will not hesitate to refer to them as the "best Sect" that you can join, if not to be a member but at least to "expand your Knowledge of God's word in the Bible. Lastpage! BTW: Just my honest opinion and l speak from my own vast interactions with them, over time. Now guys, dont turn this into a bashing exercise, just state what you like or dislike about them and move on. |

Now they've started killing us with automobiles! Not just ordinary Automobiles, just wait and you will see that it will be BULLET-PROOF AUTOMOBILES! Just incase you develop tough bones! ![]() ` Until Nigerians take their future in their own hands and stop thinking about "self, self and self alone" ...they would just continue to be mincemeat for these "BROOD of VIPERS" called "Big Man and Politicians". ![]() Lastpage! |
