sademola: This isn't much of concern. It's a mere taxing error
"Taxing error" my foot! angry angry
Is that how they "taxi-error" in other places?

Planes taxi to "take-off and to stop/park" so no one could tell us here that it was moving very slowly.
It does not excuse such failures on the part of those who should ensure such dont happen.

We are talking about "impact" by two planes, here!
What about possible structural damage, aside the obvious and seemingly cosmetic damages that could have occured?

Why cant we learn to do things properly in this country? Why dont we value life at all?
Do you bash your "new" vehicle and then take it for repairs and say "dont worry, its okay, nothing happened"?

Ist this sort of silly thinking/mentality that got our leaders treating us like shyte, when it appears some of us (like you), dont value our lives.
Next time it will be its just the engine that fell-out mid-air but since nobody died, its OKAY AND FINE!

We got it coming.

amakenny: Certificate of Road Worthiness is for every vehicle running on public roads.

Given the usually small number of its staff and the fact that they do not bear arms, VIO alone cannot enforce compliance with Certificate of Road Worthiness by millions of vehicles on Nigeria's roads. If Nigeria's law states that Police has no duty to check Certificate Of Road Worthiness for vehicles, it is a bad law. Of course, if so, you can easily note the badness of the law given the type of rickety vehicles that ply Nigeria's roads as well as the accidents they daily provoke..
You are WRONG!

Certificate of Road Worthiness (CRW) = COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ONLY, irrespective of Age! To be done bi-annually

MOT = PRIVATE vehicles ONLY.... that are five years old and above. To be done annually, where required.

Please pay attention to the VIO Director's comment on same issue, on a post by "Marpol" page zero, of this topic.
Thank you.

Denn: This story cannot be logically true.

Thieves won't be so stupid to maintain a stolen vehicles identity and even fellowship in church with same vehicle.

I believe the guy confessed after 'proper interrogation '

He could have bought the vehicle which was obviously stolen.

After much beating by policemen, he confessed.

This case will lose credibility in court once this guy can prove his alibi.

Don't accept such emotional stories without proper analysis...
I understand where you are coming from but trust me, the best way to hide something is to leave it in the open!
Its just logical that when our things get lost, we actually go on looking for it where "we think" it was hidden! grin grin
That thief get sense pass anybody but he was just out of luck that the vehicle has a "tracker installed".
How on earth would you dare look for a stolen item "in Shooshi"? ... of all places?

As for his story of buying it, its very simple: Take Police to Taiye the seller and let him come out and boldly say: I sold it to him. wink
Ofcourse, Taiye is under obligation to take us to where he also bought the car and the particulars he was given and by whom...

That is what l expect the Police to thrash out but knowing how stewpid and unintelligent they are, they will simply slap the thief. Gbooozaa! shocked shocked grin

NEWS it self: Crime Reports learnt that Oyeniran was forced to push the car into the church premises when it stopped working after it was demobilised

what a contradiction
No contradiction my friend, though l wish he did not have to force the hand of god by "pushing it into" the church premises! grin

1.) Car was snatched at gun point and driven away.

2.) Owner proceeded to "demobilize" the car (l think you know what that means ..... the car had an "immobilizer" installed and it works via gsm network and start "tracking" it! You go pay me for that one o!!

3.) The effect of two (2) above, happened as our "Brother prayer warrior and tither" was about to enter his shushii! shocked Car refuse to drive any further

4.) make yaawaa no-bust, "Brother" come push car enter Shuushii-compound!

5.) Him come do "thanksgiving" (and you no say Pastor don 'identify' im own share now, as 'flenti-flenti feefle' come line-up to dey dance and do "thanks-giving offering"! Dem no dey tire huh huh )

6.) But everyday for the thief, today na today for owner grin grin Alarm don blow!

Question: would it not have been better and morally-right before God, if our Pastors are bold enough (l know say kontiri hard and Pastors must wack! wink ) to just question anyone declaring surplus, in church?

Simple Kweshion: "Brother Lastpage", can you explain to this congregation where you got the money to buy this vehicle ... before we proceed to bless it and do thanksgiving?

infonubia: ouch! isn't that a little too harsh. People deal with situations differently. We tend to deal with them the best way we know how and there isn't really a right or wrong way. I can't really speak for someone committed suicide due to being bullied but I know it must have been so hard on them.
Really?
Its not the "bullying" that makes them commit suicide, their life was already on "the edge", EMPTY is the real word!
Bullying was just the "trigger" that fired the bullet. wink

infonubia: The picture above is of a 12-year-old girl, Rebecca Sedwick who was ganged bullied by as many as 15 girls via online and text messages. Over what? of course, the usual teen drama: a boy! The main culprit - the 14-year-old girl had been dating Sedwick's former boyfriend. She posted comments online with statement that Sedwick should "drink bleach and die." The second girl was Sedwick's former best friend whom the other girls influenced to attack Sedwick. It's very sad and unfortunate!

Through investigations, the sheriff of Polk County found search queries such as "what is overweight for a 13-year-old girl," "how to get blades out of razors" and "how many over-the-counter drugs do you take to die" on Sedwick computer. There was picture showing her head resting on a railroad track on one of her screen-savers. She contemplated suicide for several months as she was taunted by these girls.

Sedwick's mom tried to remove her from the school last year, but the bullying continued on Sedwick's phone and Facebook page. Sedwick committed suicide on September 9th. She jumped from the tower of an abandoned concrete plant and died.
Hehehe, l can only laugh! ...but its not funny at all!! angry

What is a 12yr old doing with a BOYFRIEND? Jezzuz!
Call me "old fashioned and traditional" but if she is my daughter, l will flog her deadi-body till it wakes up ...and die again! grin Imagine, they even have "former" boyfriend at that age!

Now, as a parent, l cant imagine that your child, who lives under your roof, was contemplating suicide for a whole 13 months... and you have no idea what she was up to?
That is why l hate all these shyte about "personal space" that these Oyinbo peeps preach about their children.
I reserve the right to enter ANY ROOM in my house (especially my children's room) AT ANY TIME-tee! ... and conduct "searches" for things l dont even know are missing! (You dont like it, go rent your own house elsewhere but l will cane you wella before you leave sef! grin )

Does it not show that there is a complete "disconnect" between parents and child?
Okay, l understand, maybe she was living with a 'single parent" who unfortunately is too busy chasing dollars or attending parties and binge-drinking? huh

Parents need to be "close to their children" so that you can notice the slightest change of "mood or attitude" when it sets in, from day one.
Be your child's BEST FRIEND..... being "firm and yet so loving" at the same time. wink
Put monitoring software on their phone and computer, check what they post on twitter and facebook , e.t.c (at an early stage, you can call it snooping but if it will save my child, then l am a snooper!).
Kids will always be kids and they sure need guidance till they can fend for themselves.
Its a very dangerous world out there, even more so with the advent of "internet-everywhere" and social networking! (if it could change governments in places like Tunisia, Egypt, e.t.c..... who is that your 12yr old that you think he/she is immune to such forces?)

All these "arrests" ....is campaign after election! Too late.

But l will add that the CRIMINALITY of some Nigerians in such positions (FRSC, COUNCIL MEN, VIO, LASMA, e.t.c) arises when they collect the "approved price money" and REFUSE to pay same to govt coffers but out of GREED, want to pocket everything and in so doing, operate an illegal racket.

The problem is not that we are not capable of adherence to guidelines, rather it's that there are no stringent complications and bodies to implement them when something does go wrong.
Then again, there is the 'let me help my brother mentality' that abound in Nigeria, which is like our biggest developmental problem because this has only led to appointment of unqualified quacks in aviation control and monitoring masquerading themselves as experts and professionals.

It's not white people we need, it's an overhaul of the political structure that supports 'this na my person mentality'.
