ukandi1: We cannot be reasoning like this... Are liberians less human than u and i? If we are privileged that our country is not ravaged by Ebola, it doesn't mean we shud just protect our territory and then allow liberians to die out. What goes around definitely comes around. How do we save our lands and d african people already affected and to prevent further spread? This shud be our puzzle now.
IMO. Pardon my manners however.
..and l dont like the way some Nigerians are using their caustic mouths to tarnish all Liberians!
Agreed that what that Chimp called Mr. Sawyer is was VERY VERY WRONG!
You dont deliberately infect people, just because you are infected, especially Doctors who are trying to help you!

But then, we must remember that it is out of sheer ignorance on the part of most people, that the disease is spread around unknowingly!
I bet a few Nigerians right now, are contracting and spreading it within our shores, out of sheer ignorance as well and we should not openly insult ALL Liberians for the acts of a SINGLE Mr. Sawyer.

Our own Government needs to also be very proactive rather than wait till things get out of hand.
By now, Our borders should have been shut down, mandatory "test for all international passengers with a proviso of GPS tagging" if necessary so that just incase one of the passengers on a particular flight tests positive, everyone on that flight should be quarantined and monitored throughout the gestation period of the disease. Right now, we must know where EVERYONE is located.
Cross-boundary movement should also be restricted so as to limit the spread.

We can STICK TOGETHER AND FIGHT THIS DISEASE ...or .... WE CAN KEEP POINTING FINGERS AT EACH OTHER WHILE WE ALL DIE OUT ONE AFTER ANOTHER!.

Its an "international disease right now and NO ONE is SAFE anymore!

speedyboi: You dispense it yourself doesn't imply that the meter hasn't been adjusted. Are you a learner? cheesy
There is corruption everywhere but the difference is that in some areas, they at least "make effort" to root it out.

Quite a few petrol stations in my hood have been shut down when the Standards Authority discovers, through random checks that they have rigged their dispense meter.

They shut them down for at least THREE MONTHS (juts imagine the loss!) and follow it up with a very huge fine.
Repeat offenders get their license completely and permanently revoked .... plus fine and possible jail term.

In my dear country Nigeria, the DPR guys just do a "Farouk Lawan" with the Station Owner and its "business as usual".

50calibre: Africa is an unevolved continent, with unevolved inhabitants, known for high levels of intellectual deficiency.

I don't see how the burden falls on the west to come up with a cure, when all Africans do is kill each other and fill up their blockheads with nothing but religion.

I think Africa is adequately prepared to deal with Ebola, there are millions of pastors performing miracles, it's time to gather them all and put them to the test, the need has never been greater.

I think the west should quarantine the whole of Africa and allow them deal with their problems.

The first Ebola outbreak was in the 70s around the time of Ali vs Foreman fight, it was eliminated, now the homo habilises in Liberia and Sierra Leone have brought it back with their stupidity and primitive association with apes and bush meats.

I watched a Vice documentary of Liberia, most indegenes believe Ebola is a hoax, some were proudly consuming bush meat on camera, claiming immunity to Ebola.

Ebola has been brought back, what's next? Perhaps small pox.
At the bolded:

You are terribly "wicked" but unfortunately incisive!

These Pastors and MOG's who claim to have a "direct line" to God, who claim they have cured all sorts of diseases (one in U.K, sounds like "Ewo lo'kanmi mbe? ....What is my own problem with it?) .... Let them show their face now or forever shut up!

I will even suggest Govt deliberately inject these Pastors & MOG's with Ebola ....and let then put their "fate and healing" to test
grin grin grin wink

I have always wondered: Why cant these "Miracle-workers" spare one day to visit a general Hospital and actually do JUST ONE MIRACLE by healing a dying little boy? Naah, the only miracle they do .... the only people they "heal" are faceless and anonymous people, planted within their revival ground!

The Madht woman on that street on my way to school has been there for over 20years now and no MOG (Muguns) have dared heal her!

Yet, there are people who still put their fate in these PIMPS, called MOG's?

At times, you wonder whether idiocy and foolishness is genetically ingrained in we Africans, especially Nigerians? huh huh

It is interesting to note that the only hope/ ray of light to treat this disease, comes from a Research Lab in the U.S., not from some Pastors's church or some fire-spewing MOG's in Canaan Land, Redeem Camp, MFM Prayer City and a host of other "scammer-businesses" littered all over our beloved country. wink wink

mu2sa2: Pls let a good samaritan post security tips for northerners going to the south on how to escape ritual killers, armed robbers, kidnappers, massob, ogbesu, bakassi boys and countless security challenges there.
You are very correct, all the above are also security challenges in the South but if you are intelligent enough, you will notice that all you listed above have a REASON associated with them: Most are done out of GREED (not ideology), by a FEW PEOPLE and the general populace and security operatives are fishing them out one after another.

Now, tell me the REASON behind INDISCRIMINATE BOMBING AND SLAUGHTERING OF CORPERS, CHRISTIANS IN THE NORTH.
Also, can you compare one or two of the above happening once or twice in a few months, to what is going on in the North where even during Sallah Celebration, they are still detonating bombs at random?

Tell me about strapping a rigged suicide vest on a 10year old girl that has an innocent heart!

When other parents are buying NEXT Designer vests for their girls, you are strapping yours with suicide vest ....your own child, your own blood! What manner of evil is that?

There are loads of Northerners down South even as we speak now, enjoying the hospitality of Southerners, even as you repay them with slaughtering of Southerners in the North.
There are loads of Muslims in the South right now, we all celebrated their Sallah with them and there was
no bomb on the menu!
Cant you see the difference yourself or is "Musa" an acronym for "mumu"?

Okay, go on and justify it for me please, l am waiting.

BTW: As for the security tips you requested:
a.) As a Corp member, dont go out very late at night.
(b.) Watch the company you keep, be wary of strangers
(c) Dont let greed be used to lure you into some "get rich quick" scheme, you might end up in the pot! grin
(d.) Dont keep large cash at home, if you do, dont tell anyone! (Thieves expect to be paid handsomely and dont want to waste their time on robbing an empty purse)
(e.) Finally, do everything in "moderation", remember that as a stranger, your knowledge of the environment is limited. "If in doubt, as people you trust".
In the South , all you need to survive in "common sense" and "lack of extreme greed".
In the North..... even a bullet proof armor cannot help you! shocked shocked

I was thinking we will come to our senses and stop posting pple there.

Thank you joor!

Dont mind all these people saying "safe trip", "God be with you", "we wish you well", e.t.c!

God gave us brains to use, for a reason: so that He would not have to do all the "thinking" for us!

We have a Govt whose duty is to secure "life and property of EVERY CITIZEN of this country. In that regard, it has failed and is still failing.

Until Govt can secure YOU in that North that you are being posted to, by the same Govt, to serve the same Govt, PLEASE DONT GO!

IF YOU DO, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

I hope we wont be here in a few weeks to read stories of how so-so and so Corpers were slaughtered and bombed to smithereens?
This is Nigeria, it has happened before and IT WILL HAPPEN again!

Dont waste your life!
Parents:, tell your children not to go and waste their Life, "Youth Service is not a do or die issue".
Infact, in the current dispensation, it has LOST ITS VALUE but those "Oga-at-the-Top" who benefit from the lucre it provides would pretend that it has not and all is well.

How many of them do/would allow their children to be sent to the North for NYSC? They will all be posted to the South, even among the Northerners themselves! wink wink Anyway, they cant even "school" in our Govt Universities or even in Nigeria, talkless of "Boko Haram NYSC"

Employers: Please for now, DISCOUNT NYSC CERTIFICATE as a condition for Employment .... until the security situation improves. Especially employers in Southern Nigeria. Once an prospective employee can show you that he/she was posted to the North in from say "July 2014" but is delaying it till things improve, that should be enough; leave it out of consideration ..for now.

A sensitive Govt would have SUSPENDED NYSC POSTING TO THE NORTH but "NOoo", Oga Jonah is too incompetent and too reactive to act swiftly
(Pls dont turn my comment to an APC Vs. PDP e-war, it is nothing personal against him but if l know whats going on, l think he, as the President and C-in-C, knows even better, so why not act NOW-NOW and save the lives of these young guys?)

Remember, if we had acted "swiftly" when it happened (as in immediate cordon, search and rescue with all our military and intelligence might, as against using "ill-equiped soldeirs" ebause one Oga-at-the-Top is stealing allowances and kit money of soldiers),..... those Chibock girls would have been freed.

LET US ALL SAY "NO" TO "DELIBERATE SUICIDE" ON THE PART OF POSTING YOUTH-CORPS TO THE NORTH!

It is asinine to spend years of energy, money and emotions to train a child to University level, only for some fanatics to slaughter them like a GOAT! Even a goat is given more "respect" during slaughter (at least they dont gleefully do it while recording it for posting on YouTube!), than how these "animals' kill fellow humans.
Parents need to watch the videos of how these fanatics slaughtered that Airforce Personnel, who is even of Northern extraction....or how they decapitated that Redeem Pastor whose wife and children are still kidnapped till date ... and ask themselves if that is what they want for their children.

End of story!

Foreign Affairs › Re: BREAKING: Uganda Supreme Court Strike Down Anti-gay Law. by lastpage: 7:18am On Aug 02, 2014
Before l sign-off on this topic, let me remind us that EVERYONE at one point or the other, is ENGULFED with a WIDE RANGE of "feelings, emotions and desires".
That is what makes us who we are.
Now, as an example, a phaggot may have a feeling or desire to phuck a shyte-hole of another man or with a lesbian, to suck the punnany of a fellow lady. Its all about "SATISFYING AN URGE"!
Myself for example, may have the feelings or desire to smash someones head or even rob a bank so l can satisfy my urge to get rich quick!

The "key" issue now rests on whether l will give-in to that desire or not.
gays have given-in to their own perverse desires because they get a "benefit" from it.

Now, "giving-in" involves a few steps because just like all other "decision-making" process, you go through a series of steps.

1.) Gratification: Every want/need/urge that humans satisfy or desire to satisfy, leads to a form of "self-gratification" also known as the "feel-good factor".
Homosexuals and Heterosexuals experience that "feel-good factor" and l am sure everyone that has had se*x do pass through such process.
Everyone thus, weighs the value of this "feel-good factor" against the possible consequence of their action.
A thief will weigh the money he gets from say, robbing a bank with the possibility of life imprisonment or even death, and make a choice!
Same with Se*x, with a "Homo" or a "Hetero".

2.)Environment: Some environmental factors make our choice/decision easier or more difficult to make.
Using the same example above, if you live in the debased Western World, you know it is easy to practice Homosexuality while you understand that it could be very challenging to practice it in say Uganda.
A thief knows the difference between trying to rob a Nigerian bank and trying to car-jack Securicor/Brinks bullion Van! ....Or robbing a house in Mushin and robbing one in Lekki! The level of difficulty is not the same.

Thus, in making your choice to become or do something, you factor-in the easiness or otherwise of your choice.
But you should never tell the society to "please make it easy for us" just like a thief should never tell the society to "please make it easy for us to steal"! shocked That is not our duty in the society because your own choice does not and cannot supersede that of the larger society!

3.) Culture: An often overlooked but very important factor in "human formation" is culture. it is so because culture is impressed on us right from the minute we are given birth to, from words said to us, to the first things we see and emulate, to the norms and taboos that have become accepted as part of our local life, ......we are shaped by our culture (customs and beliefs).

If the West have imbibed a culture of homosexuality, it did not start today, they've been at it for decades of years.
Now, in Africa, our culture still frowns at Homosexuality so no one should try to force it down our throat, as in now-now!
But mind you, culture do change over time but it is a very gradual thing, not to be imposed from the outside....and this is what America and the western world must recognize.
They can use all their sanctions and monetary AID(s), to arm-twist us but they would sooner than later understand that on issues like this, "you cant force the horse to drink water", it will rather die of thirst!

I have a lil'bit of sympathy for these gays in that the "bad choice" they made was not quickly put into check (for example with some nice lashes of cane! grin ) ...but allowed to fester to the point where they think they cannot do without humping the shyte-hole of a fellow man! The society must take responsibility for that but its better late than never!
We need a system of carrot and stick to correct the need to gratify their devilish emotion and desires:
a combination of "medical therapy, re-orientation and brute force' will do the trick.
Just like our parents removed "stealing" from the souls of wayward children, when growing up, we can "help" these unfortunate perverts.

Symphony007: It gives me great joy that there are still countries in africa with a judiciary that does it job without sentiments or personal feelings. No country on earth can have a constitution which protects fundamental human rights then go ahead to criminalize freedom of expression. It is ridiculous and no judiciary will stand for that. Nigeria should take note. Our supreme court must strike down ours if it gets to their desk. If our governments wants it's anti gay law to stand, then it should do a constitutional amendment were fundamental human rights is removed then a law like that can stand. But you can't claim to protect human rights and put people in jail for living their lives because you don't like how they do it. It's a mockery of constitutional democracy. You can't eat your cake and have it.
PLEASE STOP THIS YOUR DELIBERATE "MISINFORMATION"!

First, you need to check your dictionary properly, to educate yourself on what the phrase "expression" means, especially in the context of its constitutional protection.
FYI: It refers basically to your right and ability to SAY WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND. It is a "verbal priviledge" given to us by the constitution ..
.....and the same constitution ALSO went ahead to PUT LIMITS on that FREEDOM, with punishment for SLANDER and DEFAMATION.
All these are used in the "CONTEXT OF SPEECH"". So, it is NEVER ABSOLUTE!

Now, how on earth can a person who has passed through the four walls of any school, l mean any school at all, equate "open practice of Homosexuality" with Freedom of speech?
Sex, albeit perverse sex is "an act", not "a speech" and therefore is NOT COVERED by that fundamental human right jargon you spewed up there.

Again, most of you perverts like to compare "Oranges with Apples", not because you are not very intelligent but because you think you can befuddle everyone by mixing-things-up! shocked shocked

Having Anal S*ex with same specie has been since God knows when, it even pre-dates Biblical times.
Then, it was a cardinal sin worthy of being stoned to death but hey, this is the 21st century where "everything goes", right?
But the problem is not with gays taking a dig at each others Shyte-Hole, THE PROBLEM IS WITH gays TRYING TO IMPRESS AND FORCE THEIR PERVERSE CHOICE ON OTHERS!
For example, why take it to primary schools and be teaching young and impressionable kids that Homosexuality is right and they can choose to be so? Why not leave them to grow-up into an adult and then let them DECIDE of their own FREEWILL, if they fancy such?
This is just one example of where they court trouble!

Again, this article made it clear WHY THE LAW WAS STRUCK DOWN ....but you chose to "celebrate and jump-up" without even taking a closer look at it before serving notice to Nigeria! grin grin grin
READ IT AGAIN PLEASE!

The Supreme court struck the law down for one simple reason: IT WAS PASSED WITHOUT FORMING A QUORUM IN THE HOUSE.
In case you missed it as well, "Quorum" means at least "two-thirds" of all parliamentarians MUST BE PRESENT during voting (ofcourse we know that it was overwhelmingly passed by those present, but the "at least three objections mentioned were even about "the lack of quorum", not about the law itself)

Thus, the Supreme court of Uganda is right is striking it down, NOT FOR ITS MORAL DEFICIT, BUT FOR LACK OF QUORUM!

What this simply translates to is that the House of Parliament will RE-CONVENE, ENSURE THERE IS QUORUM AND PASS THE LAW AGAIN!
tongue tongue

Now, one cannot underestimate the pressure being mounted on individual parliamentarian, by America in particular, which in itself is an abuse of Democracy because they should be able to vote according to their conscience, NOT OUT OF FEAR OF WHAT AMERICA CAN DO TO THEM OR HOW IT CAN RUIN THEIR ECONOMY! Already, we have seen those "underhand tactics" at play! Were is the constitutionality in that?

As for Nigeria going the same route, that is your own wishful thinking! grin grin wink
We ensured there was Quorum and so, the Supreme court will have no excuse to "bend to pressure". kiss kiss

Now, after increasing the pages to 64, l will think someone with small sense will also increase the validity to 10 or 15years?

Don't spoil your child
Ayoo lo'npayan, Isee ki'npayan! (it is excessive exuberance that kills, "lack" does not kill ...literally translated) wink

Looking at his Lexus vehicle, a few things become obvious:

1.) the scratches on the car's body and the multiple depressions shows that the vehicle undertook "multiple somersaults and side-rolls"
Cause: Complete "Loss of control" which is not unconnected with very high speed.

2.) Looking at the wheels of the vehicle, they are almost pulled-off the body of the car ....just hanging by a few wires! Infact, the two front wheels are off the vehicle!! shocked
Cause: Impact was massive, sudden and jangling.... the type you see when a racing car crashes into a wall or barrier or as in this case, another vehicle! Excessive 'big-boy' speed!

3.) Judging that the other vehicle was "stationary" and was not even obstructing the road (as it was parked 'off-road'), it may be that its hazard lights were not "on" (pls let us always remember to do this when we are parked alongside the road, so that other road users can have "advance warning" of lurking danger!).
But then, the guy must be doing "how many hundreds of miles/hour" to leave the road and ram into a stationary vehicle at the side of the road?
Its not as if Police men from Alakara Police station in Mushin-Lagos, are at their "usual game" vis-a-vis De Grin accident now?

A few possibilities as well:

a) Was he intoxicated (alcohol)?
In some countries, his remains would be autopsied for alcohol right away but in Nigeria, we blame it on God, as usual. wink wink
But l know "poor" Muslims dont drink alcohol ..... "rich ones" are probably exempted! wink wink

b) Was he using his "seat-belt"?
Judging by the fact that vehicle must have rolled a few times but the "driver's compartment still looks a bit okay", compared to the backside, l suspect my guy was not on seat belt and suffered multiple concussion and internal organ damage as vehicle made impact and began rolling over and over.

c) Again, "two people were involved"
...why did the other survive the crash (either his side passenger or the driver of the other vehicle) and only him went AWOL?
Likely a "seat-belt" issue! Are we learning from this episode or are we going to repeat the same mistake?

I feel sorry for the young man who has to end his life is such manner, l also feel sorry for his parents who used their own money to buy what killed their son! huh huh
If prayers were useful to the dead, l would offer some prayers for him but its a waste of bandwidth as it has zero effect on the dead.

But let us "Parent"s, especially those of us with "wads of cash in our pocket", understand that there are better things we can do with our money
*Helping the needy, not just in our area or when we need their votes but across the nation!
*Build schools where they dont even know you, equip hospitals anonymously, sponsor University students without any fanfare and "Journalist's kleig-lights".
*Pay a few years rent, for the shop for all those poor women that Fashola's army of "KAI" keeps chasing and seizing their wares daily for hawking since they cant afford the price of those "Ultra-modern shops" in a million years!
*Go to the rural areas like Makoko, Ajegunle, Bariga, Mushin, Ejigbo (just to mention a few ones in Lagos alone), what stops you from sponsoring a 50-50, joint building project for them? They provide half, you balance the other half!.

I can go on forever, highlighting where Nigerians need our "rich people" (whether its their private Money, like Bill gates; or our looted patrimony, like many Nigerian Politicians/Military Leaders and office holders).

Our rich people should learn from the rich people in Western countries on how they impact the world, not just think about their own "personal, selfish interest", all the time.
How much has Bill Gates pumped into Malaria and HIV research in Africa? .... or is he the one that created HIV and Mosquitoes? shocked shocked
What about his One-Computer, One Child initiative? ...... Or na im born all of us for Africa? huh huh

I dont want to say it but it just wont go-away: Is it the same El-Rufai that was bulldozing "completed houses" in Abuja, when he could have seized those houses (for any contravention of building codes), sell them by transparent public auction and use the money to build low-cost houses for the masses after-all, the same "locations" have been re-allocated and built-up again, by those on the other side of the "power-show"!?

"The rich are dying of constipation ....while the poor are dying of starvation" readily comes to mind!

I might sound critical or even unsympathetic but honestly, l don't partake in all these "fake sympathy" that Nigerians chorus when such things happen, only for them to go behind and bad-mouth the man.
Say it openly so that others like me might learn a lesson or two from it.

Yorubas dont need more land.

Hypothetically, in an "Oodua country", we will keep it "OPEN" for any other "surrounding minority tribe or people" who are so "HAPPY" with the way we run things, to ASK TO JOIN US. The fact that they share similar culture/language will make it very smooth.

okay, because they have Oil, they have now become your "brothers" but during the Civil war of 1967 when you did not know they have Oil, do you remember what you did to them and their families?

According to a few Calabar and Ibibio people l know, "You killed and enslaved them".

He said they are just "watching you and letting you think you are smart" with the way you are trying to patronize them. grin grin grin

Even a large portion of Delta state and Ebonyi state; plus the whole of Kogi state, Edo state (where there are Yoruba speakers!) and Bayelsa state are not Igbo or even feel Igbo at all, so why lump them into your "phantom USB project"!

Anyway, if secession is your "only solution", then secede and stop shouting it over the roof top .......for decades now. angry angry

caseless: u rant alot; u'v been allover the map jst to divert attention. U ar islamophobic! No matter how u think u can coexist with muslims, u 've not done that with muslims like i've done to xtains...cos i live with xtains peacefully in volatile region like the north. U leave in the south and, u'r telling me abt ur sense of tolerance. Try north, let's see if u ar going to remain the same with ur fluffy idiosyncrasy. I have a brother(blood) who is a xtain, 3 of his children out of 7 are muslims and his wife a xtain. Ur post depicts hate and, it's too watery to stand. We're talking about military impunity, but, for ur islamophobia(which u displayed by quoting that fake verse of the qur'an to show ur ignorance), u've jumped to another issue.
See, l like to debate on ISSUES.

As for Islamophobia, l am too enlightened and broad-minded (not academically now, thats another story entirely) to HATE any religion.
FYI, I am Christian and if you read my posts over time, you will notice that l do not spare my own religion when the issue of its excesses are being discussed. Hate me or LIKE me for that, l dont give a hoot!

I have many friends of over 40yrs who are Muslims from birth and l eat and sleep in their house and same with mine.
I cant hate Muslims (That would be stoopid, stereotyping and ignorant!) but l can disagree with the way fanatics like you and BetaThings PRACTICE your religion.

There is a simple rule of living a GOOD LIFE: Do unto others, what you would wish others to do unto you! Its so simple.
Thats is my guidance, judge and standard in life and all l do

*Now, will l want Soldiers to kill my Children or Brothers (as done in Zakzaky's case)? Answer is a big "NO"

*Again, will l carry a gun, or be part of a group (or stand where /encourage others) to carry guns and shoot and Soldiers whose duty is to protect and ensure general security of you and me? Again the answer is a Big "NO".

Thus, any impartial person, anyone who is not fanatical about religion, anyone whose is NOT BLOOD THIRSTY must do the following:

1.) Condemn the very act of killing, irrespective of right or wrong. This l have done by condemning the Soldiers act (whether in defense or not) and you can judge me by my first post on this subject.
I can boast that l am one of the few who still repeats that "Protesting" is a fundamental human right and even went further to state that we cannot judge people based on what they chose to "protest about". It is their choice, no matter how immoral it may appear.

2.) Investigate the immediate and remote cause of that shooting.
This can be done by asking yourself a few basic questions:
a.) Where did this happen (b) Are there other people there? (c) Were the deceased armed or violent in anyway?
d.) Or were they a part of "a group" that was armed or violent? (e) Who brandished a weapon or fired the first shots?
f.) Are there injuries from gunshots or other weapons on just only one side or on both sides?
g.) what was the account of the incident by INDEPENDENT PARTIES (very important that you hear from both parties and try to factor-in what other people who have no "special interests" in the story, are saying. (h) Finally, What steps can both parties take, especially Govt., to console those who have lost loved ones and ensure such issues are not repeated again?

If you perform the above analysis on this story, with an unbiased mind, you will realize that both sides were wrong in a few instances and the deaths are just unfortunate, especially coming from a single family and as a result of "action" by our Soldiers, whose duty it is to protect us.

I said "unfortunate" because it could all have been avoided.
Unfortunate again in that Zakzaky is one of those "moderate Muslims" and it is possible that the peaceful procession was infiltrated by Boko Haram members and they actually shot at Soldiers, knowing what the outcome would be, ot pit Zakzaky and his followers, against the Government. Its called "reverse psychology" in warfare!

Right now, l would just hope the military's 'chain of command' can still imbibe it on our Security Agencies to be more "intelligent and circumspect" in handling public issues like this.
I know how difficult it is to face death, from "religious fanatics" like Boko Haram and their Muslim supporters in the North. You are on edge, frustrated and in "survival mode", 24/7. They too dont want to die and a lot of them have been murdered in cold blood (Just visit Youtube and see as one was slaughtered like a chicken, by these your Islamist fanatics)

That is the state of mind of those soldiers and being ill-trained to a certain extent .....(Nigeria's security outfit still have a long way to go in "civil submission" since they see themselves as the boss while really they are servant of the citizens!) .... the "reacted" to a dangerous and adverse situation like typical "military men". Shoot first, ask questions later! shocked shocked
That is wrong and unfortunate.
Life is precious and l feel for the Sheik, walahi.

Its an event we must all learn from, going forward. It isthe lessons that are more important so we dont repeat such events.
But cowards like you and BetaThings are even advocating for more violence!
You said Shiites all over Nigeria should rise up and start slaughtering other Nigerians, huh? huh huh

Maybe you said these things in "anger at the first few moments" but its over 24hrs now and you should have composed yourself and start threading the part of peace.

If you read my first post, you will see my anger against the soldiers in it; I am still angry at them for not playing this out in a more matured way but at the same time, l understand that when faced with a mob, a supposedly fanatical Islamic mob, (they would not know if they are peaceful, once they hear gunshots!), one that has slaughtered fellow soldiers in cold blood, l fully understand their reaction though its still unfortunate and a shame.

If you are a good person at heart, then your religion should make you better.
if you are a bad and evil person, your religion would only make you devil incarnate.

what kind of person are you, Caseless?
what kind of person are you, BetaThings?
Is it Religion that made you what you are now or are you just like that?

"Every good tree shall bring forth good fruits and every bad tree would bring forth bad fruits; By their fruits you shall know them".

Trust me, Religious fanaticism or killing others in the name of Religion is NOT A REQUIREMENT for SALVATION, whether as a Muslim or Christian, it is how you treat your fellow human-being that would determine where you end up in the hereafter.

Forget the "Virgins" story for now, even Shakau leder of B.H has to kidnap and r*ape under age girls just to gethis own vrgins, he could not wait till he gets to Alujanna! grin grin Phucking Bastard!

The guy (BetaThings) is just rambling around and beating about the bush.
He is listing events that happened in the 16th century in response to questions about a current event, can you imagine that?

I have asked him to dispute the FACTS, as stated by more than five EYE WITNESSES, here on Nairaland and even on Sahara Reporters that carried the news. All these witness-accounts are saying the same thing: The Protesters attempted to murder the Soldiers first, the Soldiers were very patient until they faced imminent death ..... and what do you expect soldiers whose comrade have been killed over and over again by these same terrorist in the North, to do when faced with same scenario?

@Caseless and BetaThings: I have listed "facts" for you to dispute with superior facts & logic about this death of Sheik Zakzaky's children's death, if you have any, not all these 16th century ramblings you are posting. Address the real issue.

Yes, they have a right to "PEACEFUL PROTEST". That is given.
Ofcourse, in as much as l dont like Soldiers to take laws into their hands, any sensible person knows better than to point a gun and shoot at an armed soldier now? huh huh
Even if you are Shyte or Sunni or Chritslamabad; You'll get what you asked for.

Its a pity and a very shameful one that the Sheik Zakzaky has to loose three children to death in this unfortunate and avoidable manner!
Confronting armed soldiers and provoking them to a gun-fight should not be the way to protest the death of Palestinians in Gaza.

As for trying to incite Muslims down South West, l think one thing l give credit to people in this area for, especially Yorubas, is that they are very "sensible and alert"!
They have "evolved beyond fanaticism". They know that Allah/Jesus are poweful enough to strike down anyone who blasphems them and does not need the help of ignorant people like "Caseless and BetaThings", to fight their own battle!
wink wink wink

Christians in Lagos voted Fashola en-masse, we dont give a hoot about his religion, we see him as a decent human being first, before seeing him as a Muslim ..... and he has never foisted his religion on anyone in Lagos!. Way to go, my Northern Muslims! wink wink wink

Despite all the killing of Christians in the North, have you seen one Christian RETALIATE and kill even a Hausa Muslim in Lagos or Yoruba land? No!
Instead, we "educate" and let them see the foolishness and futility of "slaughtering another person over Religious issues".
That is practical Christianity for you

On Monday and Tuesday now, you will see me ( A Christian) celebrating with my Muslim friends for seeing through another year, when its Christmas, you will see them return the favor!
I respect them and their religious views, and they respect me with mine. The Sky is wide enough for all of us to co-habitate.

Muslims. especially in the North of Nigeria MUST respect other religions and let them practice freely.
At best they should just ignore them but no one has the right to butcher another person just because they dont share your own religious belief!

Just as Christians have come to understand that "Religious Inquisition" of the past centuries was WRONG and BAD, .... and have therefore chose to ignore those part in the Bible that are "extreme" and intolerant, Modern day Muslims (true Muslims) must also recognize and shun those areas of the Quoran that ARE EVIL (Like Slaughtering those who do not believe in Islam or who renounce Islam as their Religion, e.t.c).
Stop parading Allah as a blood-sucking murderer!

Even if the Quoran said so, it was written by somebody whose time has passed.
