Jeeez!
You people are soooo BITTER!

Over what?

I can believe you would be cursing a whole race (even if it mean nadda), just because a few people want a thieving Minister removed.
Whatever got people like you into this kind of "mental state" needs to be addressed quickly before we have another set of Taliban-style suicide bombers on our door-step!

No matter what you say or think, it is obvious to even a toddler that this woman misappropriated public funds for her own selfish interest.
Now whether she is found guilty, punished or given a pat on the back is immaterial, its just a reflection of Nigeria's decayed system of justice and self-decapitating people like you.

Tomorrow, these same set of ignorants would carry placard and be complaining that they dont have basic amenities!
How would you have, when Govt officials loot and you back them for the simple and infantile reason that they are your tribe?
Does it surprise anyone then that the Eastern part of Nigeria is the least developed amongst all the regions of Nigeria?

"A people that can look at their brother-leaders in the face and tell them the truth, will sooner than later reap the benefits".
Thieving Govt officials abound in every part of the country but the Yorubas trump all others in that they "mostly" rubbish their own thieves while the Easterners celebrate theirs.
Even the Tinubu you are referring to, will sooner than later go the way of Bode George and co, its just a matter of time.

Like all previous thieves under Jonathan's administration, l dont expect "Stealer" Odua to be punished but even that does not change the fact that she is no different than any of the previous and present looters.
Let us just relax and direct our attention to other things instead of cursing like shameless, demented rats!

amakenny: A roofing expert could roof a house yesterday and water leaks from the roof today. Is the leak a good way to assess the efficacy of the expert and the quality of materials used for the roofing? No. Leave the Oduah woman alone. Let some technician go and fill the point water is leaking from.
What kind of daft people talk like this?

"Experts" do their work with GUARANTEE of x-number of years! Its not by "trial-and-error"

What then is the difference between an "EXPERT" and a "QUACK"?

I think tribalism has turned some people very stewpid on this forum.... or maybe they are just stewpid ab-inito! huh huh huh

Business › Re: Ex-bankers: How Is Life Outside Banking? by lastpage: 9:30am On Nov 05, 2013
I have worked in the banking industry some years back and have left over a decade now.

My Opinion
: Keep enduring it as much as you can but the important thing is: What do you do with your MONEY?

You get well-paid, l know that, with all the "profit sharing, PDP, e.t.c" that you just see 'drop' into your account! grin

Save Money, Save Money and Save Money! Dont live life like the money will never stop flowing (that is how we banker's live life wink )

You will resign or get sacked, ONE DAY.

If you have "more than enough" savings by then, life will be a breeze for you.

Note:
*Dont save ALL your money in a single bank (it may collapse or SLS can just kill it out of anger! shocked ). Spread it in a few banks!

*Even more, dont keep your loot in your own bank where you work (your colleagues and Oga can see your balance all the time! )

*If you can, buy houses in "profitable areas". (l did not say "buy land", ...that one can be troubling). Dont mind the cost, even if it is only one you can afford, buy it expensive, in business areas like Mainland, Ikeja/Maryland/Palm Grove axis. Use it to tie your money down against inflation and it will give you revenue streams regularly.

*Have "Plan B" for your family (wife and children): 'Relocating' them used to be good back then but nowadays, l hear that the women "grow teeth" once they get 'status' abroad and think the husband who labored for them to come abroad is no longer useful. Think before you leap on this option as it might ruin your whole family set-up.

*Start a thriving business for your wife (worse if she works in the same industry like you!). Register a company, be the chairman and hold controlling share. Your wife will be M.D and let her manage it properly. Fund it well and keep an eye on the "books" regularly. As a banker, that should not be too hard for you.
*Dont invest your money in some get-rich-quick scheme! Thats one sure way to regret yourself. I warned you. wink

*Be wary of trying to be "Mr. Nice" to everyone that brings a problem to your door. They are the same people that will make fun of you if you dont plan well and suddenly, things are not as rosy as it used to be. Such is Life o! grin grin Help others but never at your own detriment.

*Finally, l know this will be difficult for you but if you can try, DEVELOP YOURSELF by taking professional courses otherwise, by the time you leave the bank job in future, you will be so outdated that you might not fit into any better position anywhere else!
E nor easy for somebody counting money to think about education but you will thank me for it later.

If you are focused and determined, banking is one of the best job l will do again, in my "youth-age" if l resurrect in another life. wink
Go in early, work very hard, make loads of dough and when it looks like shyte wants to happen, just ease out nicely and move on to plan B.

No shaking, Wish you luck.

SPDC (Shell) operates in so many countries around the world and l know that they do maintenance in those countries as well.

Now, ....would, .....or can SPDC put a country like U.K or any European country in darkness for a whole week, to do maintenance?

Absolutely impossible but like most of you morons are saying, "this is Nigeria, one week is nothing"! shocked shocked

They respect the people and govt of those countries and would go extra mile to ensure there is a "Plan B" to do the maintenance without causing them such hardship.
It's a long age tradition. This happens during Oyekan's reign. It's a cultural thing so make una stfu in advance to other zombies wey go comment after me or go back to Onitsha or Aba as Lakhadimar advised.
But really, this is becoming too much now? This closing of markets at every sneeze and cough of a few!!
These markets are the source of people's livelihood and if l remember, they paid handsomely to use this market!! huh huh

Granted that it is an "age-long tradition" but in those days of "traditions", when "Obas are Obas" (not like the tout we have in lagos now), when tradition was respected and not every thief and looter is given chieftaincy title, ... in those days when Thunder would strike you dead ASAP, if you violate or abuse privileges granted you by the same tradition, in those days, Markets dont get closed for every Tom, Dike and Hillary now?

I guess very soon, Markets will be closed when Tinubu's daughter gives birth and l bet the next one will be done during his wife's monthly cycle! shocked shocked

This is just stewpidity at its height!

You cant be impoverishing other people, denying them of their legally entitled income (after looting their taxes!), just because you want to show that you are "in power"?

In sensible climates, "business holidays" like this are carefully planned and known beforehand.
I am disappointed that even Fashola, who is a legal luminary and a learned mind, knowing that there is no "legal basis" to close the markets anytime Tinubu or any of his cronies wants to "do Owambe", is a party to this shenannigan.

Truly, this our dear country is gone to the dogs.
Shame of this sort of tradition and those who practice it. As a born, raised and well-bred of Lagos, this rubbish does not in any way represent the Yoruba tradition that l know, grew-up in and represent
Just imagine closing all Markets in Lagos during Thiefnubus' Birth day, Fashola's father's burial, Tinubu's daughter's selection as Iyaloja General of Nigeria (which Nigeria sef, does her Iyaloja extends beyond Idumota? grin ), what time is left for the traders to engage in profitable economic activities? ... abi na traders kill fashola's father or wetin concern traders if Oba of lagos wants a "quiet B/day celebration"?
Why cant that Oba sef, use his common sense and fiat, to do the right thing by ordering that markets should remain open (instead of speaking from both sides of the mouth like a common truant!)

BTW: This has nothing to do with that thieving stella or Yorubas or Igbos.
l am a thorough-bred Lagos-Yoruba of many generations and l tell you, these "wanton action" is not our tradition as some are trying to allude, it is overzealousness and abuse of power on the part of some rascals, including the "bastardized traditional Obaship stool" of Lagos
Politics › Re: Oduah - N255m Cars Were Not Bought For Me by lastpage: 11:45am On Nov 02, 2013
LeSaint: My frnd, I dont know the sector in which you worked and gained your understanding of the use of the directive, "Do the needful", but I tell you you misfired completely in your analysis. So much for show of savvy! Now, everyone, get the TRUE and contextually ACCURATE interpretation (and Oduah's intendment in her use of that term for her defence); it means, "it's ok, but follow due process as usual to implement". But the PROBLEM is that that directive is out of context when the proposal or memo contains specifics, like a vendor's name or a firm offer (quotation). In other words, it depends on what the PRAYER in the memo is. If the prayer goes like, You may wish to APPROVE the award to "x" vendor, at their "y" price, then you as the boss CANNOT say "Approved, do the needful"!!!
"Do the needful" is ONLY used for "approvals-in-principle", that is like, Nkemakolam would say Hon Min, it would be a good IDEA to buy Armoured Bimmers, and the Min would say, ok go ahead and COMMENCE the procurement PROCESS, ie, the needful! Nkemakolam would the prepare an ADVERT COPY and send out to minimum two popular national dailies, inviting interested vendors to submit quotations for Bimmers. This is the first Due Process step, and it cannot be taken without approval.
Bros, l've worked in both private and public sector (Telecoms, Banking and public service) and l can tell you that you are actually wrong and your arguement is full of conjectures and "may-bees"!
First you must look at that directive (Do the needful) in tandem with the adjoining word attached to it( Approved) and what is the nature/content of the request being sought for Approval,...
That would give you a clear understanding of the context of the Phrase and what exactly "the Needful" is, in this context.

let me summarize it as l have written extensively on this before.
*The Memo in question was definitely about Vehicle procurement, dont let us dance over that as you are doing.
*Subordinates dont write to their supervising Ministers as you suggested in your example.
*I dont know if you have seen the "Final Approval letter that was signed" and in question here.
I have seen a photocopy of it (and dont ask me to post it here, that would be ludicrous!).
On it, there was a request for Approval TO BUY the two vehicles, at the stated price" directed to the Minister. (the approval request was not to commence "expression of interest" or to ask for "submission of proposals" from vendors or to begin a "due process" exercise. ).
It was a request for APPROVAL to PURCHASE VEHICLES. You can only get to that point after doing all due diligence and concluded the process.
*She did not even open it to "public tender" as required by law (Read her answer in the Senate briefing she gave about that). It was all done in a haste and in-house!
*She wrote "Approved" across the face and signed it. She then added, "Do the Needful".

Now in the context of what the Approval was for ( to buy two Vehicles at stated price), it will be silly to start making assumptions that the subordinate was to start all over again to seek opinion or just to express a suggestion to the Minister.

Thus, "Do the Needful" affixed after the word "Approval", was a direct instruction to the subordinate to "Go ahead and procure the Vehicles".
When it is time for payment, all you need to (and that is what they did), is to attach that approval letter (with supplier invoice) to the Financial Controller, to release funds to the supplier of the Vehicle, and ofcourse, Stella Oduah had since turned herself into not just the Minister, but also the Financial Controller of the Aviation Ministry!
Again, l will suggest you get your hands on a copy of the Approval letter itself (search for it as you can) and then make your own informed judgement.

I dont need to appear savvy to faceless persons, on a faceless forum like this, it adds no value to me at this stage of my life.
it is people who lack depth in "real life" that court recognition and "likes" on Social Media. grin grin
Anyway, you dont have to accept my opinion, lets move on.
No big deal.

cjrane: @ the bolded,
That is precisely her crime to these yoruba people.
As far as they are concerned,Why should she implement the President's promise to make AIIA to become international, which they fear might threaten Lagos airport. That is why some corrupt yoruba men sat down and planned this whole scandal with buying these cars, claiming it was being bought for the minister of aviation , framed her up with lagos media groups and almost denied her a chance to speak!

Shame on you all! The truth has finally come out and no amount of name calling and blackmail will make the minister resign in frustration according to your shameful plot. She will stay on and continue with her amazing transformation of our aviation sector. Go to your plot 2 and start saying junk about Okonjo Iweala or Allison Madueke! You shall still fail as usual!

You have failed in your evil war to stop the glorious Igbo people doing great things for our dear country Nigeria.
@the bolded:
*My friend, did it occur to you that the "East of Nigeria" has long been due for an international airport for God knows how long?
*Did it not occur to you that even the river Niger is due for dredging almost two decades ago (Even former President Shagari in his days promised that to garner Igbo votes, back then .... and its not been done of today!).
*Did it occur to you that Stella Odua actually came-in when that Airport was at "an advanced stage of completion" and that it was previous Aviation Ministers who "designed, approved the design, awarded the contract and commenced work" on the building of that Airport and "fortunately, some of these Ministers were Yoruba, including the sharp-tongued Femi Fani-Kayode?

So how did you reach that mindless conclusion that Yorubas dont want Igbo to have Airport in the East or that it will make the Yoruba land "poor"! Jeez, some of you never stop amazing me with your puerile logic and warped sense of reasoning!

The Sky is big enough for all to fly, trust me on that.
The "brain" is always mightier than the "muscle" and the Yorubas are gifted with the cranial ability to calmly "sit down and think deeply, to resolve any situation to their advantage".

For example, every city in America has an Airport better than the best in Nigeria .... and it did not make any of the city poorer.
Why would l fly to Abuja Airport for example, if l want to go to Onitsha or why would l fly to Enugu Airport if l want to come from Kano to clear some goods at Apapa port?
Each Airport will have its own "catchment customers and comparative advantage", changing with time and demand.
I pray they also dredge and develop a Cargo port at the Niger Bridge head in Onitsha, it will simply make "trading better" between all the regions.
Mind you, if you produce much in Aba or Onitsha, it only stands to common sense that you will need to ship it to a "market" somewhere else, maybe the North or the West (Yorubaland). So, Apapa port will still be busy as usual, only the "trade route" may just change direction! grin grin

Real business men like Dangotte, who know how business economics work, dont engage in all these infantile rants about tribalism, because they understand that the bigger the market, the better for them. You will get there one day in the future. wink

Having said that, l agree that "Yes, the Airport was "commissioned" under Stella Odua.
But does that give her a blank cheque to embezzle public funds and spend it recklessly on mundane things she will never buy with her own money? NO!
Does that justify her manipulations of the system put in place? NO!
Does that justify her bare-faced and shameless denial of something so obvious only bigoted tribalist like you can not confess to? NO!

How by the way, How have she been proven innocent or which truth are you referring to?
The only truth here is that she is a bloody, brazen and unrepentant thief, a disgrace to womanhood in the mold of Mrs Etteh.

If it suits you to run abuses and manufacture enemies for yourself, that is your headache, smart Igbos that l know dont give a hoot where l come from, neither do l care if their name is Okechukwu or Nnamaka!
We work together and respect each other and make clean money doing "clean business" together

We all already know the purpose for which the cars were bought. The cars were not bought just for the minister alone. They are official cars. If you had known the man that raised this issue (Femi F K); you would have killed him first before attending to the issue he brought. So we are waiting to know how they go out of limit and how they started working with different figure.
Some fellows are already laughing at the figure under investigation, since it is such a small amount. You left somebody that stole trailer load of money while pursuing somebody that stole a bag of money.

Why do they always think anyone who criticizes any wrongdoing done by an Igbo person, is out to ruin them and does so out of hatred for Igbos?
Personally, l have looked myself in the mirror and asked "Do l hate Igbos, as a race"?
The answer is NO! And l can afford to tell myself the truth, in my own closet, at least no one has any knowledge or power over that.

Alright, it is okay for you to "hate Yorubas" but do you also hate yourself this much .... or how do you describe someone who will "cut of his own "Igbo-Nose", just to spite his "Yoruba-face"?

How can any sensible person say that 250Million stolen wealth of this country, is "small money"?
Even Dangotte will not smile at you if you steal just 10Million of his money, despite his wealth yet those saying this money is "chicken change" are people who can barely arrange 10Million Naira in their "home and abroad"! shocked shocked
Who puts a #150 Million Naira Bullet Proof Car in the "Pool", for everyone's use?

Why must every issues be viewed through "ethnic and tribal lenses"?
What joy does it give our Igbo brothers to defend brazen corruption, just because the thief is Igbo? ... or because one Yoruba man thief stole double that?
Where is the sense of reasoning and Logic in that argument? Have you guys No shame at all?

How did this story turn to a "Yoruba Vs. Igbo"? One of the principal actors i this saga was/is a childhood friend of mine as we attended the same Primary school in Lagos and we actually grew up in adjacent streets!, .... But he is NOT Yoruba, and it does not change my opinion or friendship with him.

How one earth can anyone with their senses intact, defend these rubbish or tell us their own I.Q is so low they cant even figure out what happened, despite all the glaring evidence and testimonies from Stella Oduah herself, and all the principal characters involved who had given evidence?
Which other court are you waiting for and are you guys so daft and moronic? I know you are not but it is just that your thinking got suddenly
get so messed-up once "tribalism" takes over.

Same goes for some of our Yoruba folks who will defend Tinubu till death, despite evidence of his criminality.
But honestly, it is senseless behaviour and those involved in these acts are a disgrace to their family name and unborn generations.

We must all come together to condemn brazen stealing of our national wealth by some Politician and their cronies who dont give a hoot about us.

How much is the filthy #4,000 they are sharing for you (or even if you are just doing it for Tribalism's sake only), from the Billions they steal?
The stealing that is denying your generation the quality of life you are supposed to be living .... or dont you realize you have only ONE LIFE to live and "generator fumes" alone, (caused by the thievery in the power sector, championed by no less than OBJ and his cronies) has reduced the life expectancy of Nigerians by at least 20-years and the sudden increase in the prevalence of cancer in the last few years in traceable to the same Generator fumes which would have been avoided if we all come together and "flog the shyte" out of these thieves (our Brothers!)?

These thieves have NO RESPECT for you and me (even if you defend them till tomorrow or take crumbs from their table).
You need to hear them when they talk about the same foolish "common man" who is here ranting and raving in their defense!

Please guys, you are doing your own generation and children a BAD FAVOR, by supporting a thief, from any tribe.
You are also destroying your own very life (maybe its not that valuable to you sha, that is what poverty causes in a humanbeing).

Let us come together and hang to dry, every thief, whether Yoruba, hausa or Igbo, a thief is a thief.
otherwise, we are on a very 'long thing'.
Somalia is a very good example o! wink
Ten years ago, if anyone told you that "bombs" will be killing Nigerians like chickens, l bet you will hiss and say "gerrout" to that person, but today, it is the reality.
If l tell you TODAY that if we dont change our attitude of supporting EVIL, based on TRIBALISM, Somalia or Yemen will be a child's play compared to what we will become in ten years from now.

Running abroad is also not becoming an option anymore, go and see how Africans/Nigerians die like flies, trying to reach Europe!

By the way, l dont know how "old" these people arguing about that phrase "do the needful" ..are or whether they have worked in any corporate environment before or whether they are just the usual "ASUU fall-out" that dont know their left from their right?.

I have written as a "subordinate", read and in later years of "senior management", APPROVED thousands of "Memos", so l know exactly what it means and what the intention is, when you use that phrase (Approved, do the needful), to a subordinate.

1.) A Memo is put-up to address an issue (Procurement of BMW's in this case).

2.) Prior to putting it into writing, the "Boss" and his "subordinate" would "verbally" discuss and dissect the issue at stake

3.) When "all issues" have been thrashed out and "AN AGREED POSITION IS REACHED" ....(viz price, supplier, quality and quantity, mode of payment, 'egunje-level", e.t.c) .. between the "Oga" and the "Junior", the Boss would ask the subordinate to "raise a Memo to that effect, for the Boss to "approve".

4.) The subordinate writes the Memo (raises a request) and addresses it to his/her Boss.
The subordinate signs his name and signature on the left-bottom of the Memo and leaves the right-bottom of the Memo, for the Boss to sign.

5.) The Boss goes through the Memo to ensure that all important issues discussed earlier "are captured" in the Memo. If so, the Boss APPROVES the Memo by "signing his name and signature" on the space provided.

6.) In addition, the Boss MUST write "APPROVED" on the Memo
... and to give "URGENCY" to the Memo, the Boss will append "Do the Needful", implying: Based on our previous discussions and position, do GO AHEAD and TAKE ALL STEPS TO EXECUTE THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS MEMO".

Thus, the Memo at this stage becomes a "clear and concise instruction" that must be executed by the subordinate, ASAP! ... otherwise the subordinate is liable for a "query" for dereliction of duty and disobedience! grin grin

By appending "Approved, Do the needful" on that Memo, Stella Oduah is wholly and completely responsible for its content (ofcourse, if we factor-in the fact that she is also the "beneficiary", we can understand why she added that phrase "Do the needful", to it.)

I know most of our House-members ain't that intelligent and experienced otherwise, they should just have invited a few corporate heads, dig-out their previous Memos and do same with Stella Oduah's Memos in other activities she has implemented and you would see that they all follow the same pattern of "Go ahead and implement SPEEDILY".

She planned these SCAM from they one when she sacked all the "professionals" in the Aviation industry and replaced them with her hand-picked accomplices.

Below is the FULL STORY, worth reading if you have an open and objective mind

Edith John: Recent happenings in the Aviation industry in general and in particular; the government Agency saddled with the regulatory responsibility of civil Aviation in Nigeria; The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has thrown up a number of ethical issues which borders on professionalism, integrity, loyalty, patriotism and trust.
Minister Stella Oduah REVELATIONS: Stella Oduahs Secret Deals In Aviation Sector

This piece seeks to dissect the fact leading to the build-up to the Oduagate Bullet-proof car saga, so as to shed further light on the imbroglio.

The unceremonious removal of the erstwhile Director-General of NCAA; Harold Demuren as a fallout of the DANA air crash incident, despite his achievement for the Nigerian Air travel industry was orchestrated to create the much needed lacuna for official high-handedness and graft…

It will be recalled that Minister of Aviation Stella Odua removed two of the parastatal Chiefs under her watch viz; Richard Aisebugbu who was MD of Federal Airports Authority Of Nigeria (FAAN), and Alhaji Auyo who was the MD of NAMA all in one fell swoop, leaving only Harold Demuren of NCAA.

She immediately shopped for more docile and subservient persons who will not only dance to her tunes without asking questions but also will even go the extra mile to protect her interest. This exercise, which ordinarily appears as a normal repositioning effort by her, brought up Mazi Nnamdi Udoh (Current MD of NAMA) and George Uresi (MD of FAAN). These two were found to posses all the needed character and were taken to Oduah to pledge their loyalty to “the cause”.

It will further be recalled that Harold Demuren of NCAA had emerged as the doyen of the industry by this time, having successfully repositioned the Industry in addition to leading Nigeria to earn the much coveted CAT 1 Status from America, He was then being celebrated both locally and abroad and so Oduah was in a fix and could not immediately remove him.

Harold Demuren grounded Dana Airline after its crash, government investigated the crash, compensations were paid to victims family, the airline fleet was re-audited and on the order of the Minister Of Aviation, Demuren cleared the Airline to resume flight operation, not knowing he will be made the fall guy for these.

Despite ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s passionate appeal to President Jonathan to let Demuren remain on his job, as well as interventions of well meaning Nigerians, Odua hand-twisted President Jonathan to sack the man on the basis of one air crash within a spate of about five years crash free record.

It is noteworthy that Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA who was brought in by Odua, contributed in no small measure to Demuren’s exit by regularly feeding his principal false allegations about Demuren. It was a gang-up of sort against the regulatory agency (NCAA), with George Uresi of FAAN, Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA and the Minister all tearing ferociously at the soul of NCAA.

The era of Dog eat dog has fully evolved in the Aviation Industry.

It is instructive to know that on the eve of Demuren’s departure from NCAA, he was inclined to hand over the organization to the most senior among his Directors in person of one Abdullahi Adamu from Bauchi State; a seasoned career civil servant with about 30 years industry experience, but he (Demuren) was ordered by the Minister to hand over to Joyce Nkemakolam who just became Director at NCAA the same month.

Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA as the only trusted hand they could work with recommended Joyce Nkemakolamm to the Minister. Both Joy and Nnamdi udoh are long-standing brothers who came from the same village in Arochukwu in Anambra State. Both were air traffic officers, both entered civil service the same month and year. Nnamdi udoh could not have found a better replacement to Demuren than this.

Suffice to say that Joy Nkemakolam the new acting Dg of NCAA never had any formal education, not even an OND; He rose between the ranks as a complacent civil servant for about 30 years. Perhaps the only gift he has which brought him to the fore was his docility, subservience, malleability and cooperativeness.

Within a spate of about 4 months, the regulatory authority (NCAA’s) autonomy was surrendered sheepishly by Joy Nkemakola backed by Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA to the Minister and by extension the Aviation Ministry.

The stage is now set for the Plunder and gathering of the spoils of war.

The current Oduahgate armored car saga is just a fraction of the atrocious financial recklessness jointly perpetrated on aviation agencies finances by the team Oduah comprising of the Minister, Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA, George uresi of FAAN, Joy Nkemakola of NCAA, Ene Ita (former perm Sec, now Presidential Adviser) and Aviation Ministry Officials.

Oduah soon turned a highly professional, compartmentalized and sensitive industry where each person has his specific duties into a single unit where anybody is ordered to do any other person’s work.

Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA an air traffic controller soon begin to clear Aircraft for takeoff on the Tarmarc, (a statutory duty of NCAA). He it was who cleared Dana aircraft upon its recertification by NCAA.

Yakubu Datti of FAAN soon became the spokesman of NCAA (operator speaking on behalf of regulator), speaking on safety and security issues, avionics, aircraft engineering matters and air crashes. No wonder the apparent confusion and double-speaking over the last air crash.

The rape on the regulatory agency (NCAA) was quite tortuous and bleeding, but the hapless agency eagerly awaits a substantive Director General who will at least take charge of things, heal her wounds and restore part of her battered dignity.

Association of airline Pilots and other concerned stakeholders observed the ugly trend of events in the industry early enough, voiced their fears and even feebly tried to get the attention of president Jonathan and the Minister herself, but it does appears that the Minister has successfully pulled a wool over the eyes and ears of the senate, house of reps and the President with her celebrated but hollow new airports buildings.

The airport remodeling itself is a grandiose, stage-managed deception which served as a conduit pipe to siphon money by the Minister, imagine under-aged Chinese technical school dropouts sharing millions of dollars of our Bilateral Air service Agreements money with Oduah and building us a replica of their low quality china town as airports; never in the history of Nigeria have we been so beguiled and cheated.

Oduah used George Uresi of FAAN to steal billions under the Airport remodeling charade, She plundered the BASA fund which NCAA had painstakingly gathered up, She took over the control of Aviation agencies revenue by unilaterally concessioning out the revenue generation of the agencies to a consortium of private firms namely Avicollect and First bank Plc on an outrageously high percentage basis.

On top of it all, because the agencies funds domiciled at first bank is within her reach, she removes as much as she wants in both local and foreign currencies from the holding account even before the agencies gets to share what is left.

She placed a monthly standing order for deduction of millions on the accounts of the agencies and it is instructive to note that all transactions relating to the purchase of about six exotic cars for odua were all made by standing order deduction at source from the agencies account.

As the search for a substantive head for NCAA begins, Oduah and her cohorts tinkered with the idea of transiting Joy Nkemakola to the Substantive Director- General of the agency.

Oduah and Ene-ita sought the support of the senate Committee on Aviation and the House Committee on Aviation to get Nkemakola into office, Oduah equally mounted pressure on president Jonathan telling him she has seen the only man she could successfully work with.

It took sustained pressure from South west Obas and leaders of thought before president Jonathan agreed to look for a credible alternative from the region.

The emergence of the man Capt. Fola Akinkuotu as the substantive Director-general of NCAA was one borne out of necessity.

While Harold Demuren is an Aircraft Engineer,Akinkuotu is a revered pilot, aircraft inspector cum engineer, seasoned administrator and educationist with over 43 years industry experience. His pedigree and intimidating qualification made President Jonathan to call him forth from the International Aviation College in Ilorin where he was serving out an earlier national assignment.

During his brief stint as the pioneer rector of the Aviation College, he was given a presidential mandate to produce Nigerian first set of locally trained pilots in eighteen months, he did graduated the first set of pilots in sixteen and half months. This was a feat that even the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), which has been in existence for several years had not once achieved.

Akinkoutu encouraged and liaised with several state governments to sponsor their indigene for pilots and aircraft engineers training so as to bridge the gap in the dearth of capable hands in Aviation industry. It is therefore not surprising that this man once again caught the attention of President Jonathan as one who could consolidate the gains recently recorded in the industry.

Akinkuotu professional colleagues in the Pilot association warned him of the danger ahead as the Minister has completely turn the whole industry upside down, The Minister had planted her core loyalists who are obvious strangers to the industry, and are as clueless and bereft of any idea as to how aviation business is conducted within every corner of NCAA. Some of these new entrants are failed politicians who worked alongside her in election campaign; they regularly display utter abhorrence for the civil service system of the regulatory agency, disrespect for the management and brought pollution into the system through their compounded greed and avarice.

While Akinkuotu obviously stoically took his nomination as a higher call to serve his fatherland and awaited his confirmation by the Nigerian senate, team Oduah to make sure Akinkuotu confirmation never see the light of the day was hatching another plot.

Intrigues and delays accompanied the senate invitation giving Akinkuotu, The Minister who was supposed to take him along to the senate for clearance abandoned him, and left the shores of Nigeria on various aviation road show exercise to different countries, into which millions of the Aviation Agencies money was spent. NAMA, FAAN and NCAA never fully recovered from the financial quagmire into which they were plunged as a result of the Aviation road show jamboree.

Oduah did not honor Senate Invitation to present Akinkuotu for screening for three and half months, She was frantically deploying all in her arsenal not only to frustrate the screening process, but also to perpetually keep her stooge Nkemakolam on the saddle, to plunder as much as possible for her.

Several phony supply contracts, Consultancy services contracts and Personnel training Contracts were awarded in NAMA NCAA and FAAN during this period.

When it seems the senate will go ahead with the screening with or without her after their recess, she began to reorganize the Agencies to her favor and stepped up looting process through her stooges in charge at the three agencies.

Unending training of hundreds of fictitious Ministry staffs both overseas and locally, is the order of the day. Each local training was being awarded at outrageous cost between 200,000 and 300,000 Naira per participants, Foreign training which were never attended were arranged and foreign currencies paid out to Ministry staffs, all these while the NAMA, FAAN and NCAA were still grappling with the issue of their mandatory internal staff training due to lack of funds.

These atrocities clearly predated Akinkuotu taking over of office and none of it should be hanged on his neck.

Even when Akinkuotu nomination was eventually ratified by the senate after almost three and half months, Joy Nkemakolam continued to hurriedly sign and backdate contracts approvals, employment letters and other financial transactions and whether he has stopped this backdating of approvals cannot be ascertained because our source reveals that new employees still daily turn up with backdated employment letters bearing Joy Nkemakolam’s signature in their droves at NCAA up to date.

During the period of the senseless looting spree, Nnamdi Udoh and Joy Nkemakola bought several properties in Lagos (Maryland area specifically) and the east, the duo tarred an entire stretch of road in their village arochuckwu and this earned them Chieftaincy titles from the Arochuckwu monarch.

We deeply sympathize with Fola Akinkotun who is presently between the devil and the deep blue sea and have now being given the unsavory task of clearing his friendly- enemies’ names over the atrocities they all colluded to commit when he (Akinkuotu) had not taken over control at NCAA.

The head of the Nigerian masses, Posterity and perhaps the blood of all the victims of air crashes that occurred under Oduah’s watch will judge the thieving Oduah Crew.

For now, President Jonathan should set aside party affiliation between himself and Oduah, rise above any temporal sentiment and do what all Nigerian expect of him, to sort out the Nigerian Aviation Industry, by restoring back full autonomy of NCAA, and breaking the shackles of the Ministry of Aviation away from NCAA’s neck.

Then and only then can Akinkuotu pick up the Shattered fragments of the industry and mold it back to a world delight.
I weep for this our country called Nigeria, if thieves can be so brazen and yet so unrepentant!

To you and all other Igbo peeps raking over here, let us dissect the issue a bit sensibly:

If your allegation are TRUE, then the following MUST ALSO HOLD ...or BE TRUE:

1.) All the Moderators on Nairaland hate Igbos

2.) All the Moderators on Nairaland are Yorubas ... and NON, is Igbo

3.) There are more stories of criminality amongst Yorubas, than there are about Igbos

4.) The Newspapers reporting these stories belong to Yorubas "only" and No Igbo Newspaper reports such stories (did l just read something in SUN Newspapers)

5.) Igbos dont do the same thing (as in start hyping-up "bad stories" involving Yorubas or Hausas)

Now, with your hands on your chest, swear and hope to die, if you can HONESTLY SAY ALL THE ABOVE IS TRUE.

...Otherwise, just condemn the criminality and move on.
No need to start white-washing what is wrong or engaging in "finger-pointing" instead of doing a "soul searching".

I agree with everyone, 100% that we should not focus on the tribe of the criminal (this digresses from the fact of the act)
.....but l find it funny that "Kettle is trying to accuse the Pot of being black"!

You do this same thing a lot but the only problem is that you got more of the shyte hitting YOUR OWN CEILING,.... than that of the other tribe.

If and when we all can agree to do the right thing by leaving TRIBE or PARTY POLITICS out of our reasoning and discussion, maybe we will be able to move forward and enjoy the benefit of being a Nigerian.

From your story, you have alot to thank God for, a beautiful family, good health, properties all over and you have been a great husband. If your wife decides to betray you, it is not your fault but hers alone. As hard as it is, look around you and thank God. Sit her down and tell her you know she has built the house. Tell her how disappointed you are but let her know you have already forgiven her.

Life is too short. I know you are disappointed but please let it go. I can bet you she may have serious background issues or she is moving with the wrong friends. That is the only thing that can explain her behaviour. Her background is outta whack (broken or polygamous home) or her advisers are just plain stupid. But I will tell you to change churches fast. I still can't fathom how a woman would beat a 14-year old to death. The beating must have been vicious and merciless.

It should be noted that justice has been served after 3 years. Women or those who can't deal with househelps with empathy and understanding should simply do without them.

What do you expect? At least in Lagos; ikeja, VI and yaba would have constant power because they can pay... Investors would make the necessary investments in these localities. However, the people at Iju, Ikorodu, Matogun etc esp., in those areas that do not fall in the master plan of the state can continue to leave in darkness moreover, they can not pay either.
Please stop spewing this sort of "egalitarian nonsense"! (No offense intended, and l really meant that)

Its not a question of "they can pay", this is a case of sheer "attempted" EXPLOITATION.

These "private investors" knew what the "tariff structure" was from inception.
They studied "all the figures" together with NERC and together, they arrived at a "profitable tariff structure" for the investors.
They signed the MOU and based on that, bidded and won the contract to manage these public utility companies, privately.
And the agreement has "provisions for periodic review" (if need be), as well!

Bunch of thieves, having acquired the license now, they have not even started ANY DELIVERY, they are already talking about increasing tariffs!

Mekanus: http://www.punchng.com/news/igbo-youths-stage-pro-oduah-protest-in-enugu/#comments

These guys must have been given some chicken change or are looking up for one
Stella Oduah: Hundreds of Igbo Youths in Enugu, under the aegis of Igbo Progressives Union, on Saturday protested against calls for the sacking of the Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah.
Also, Oduah’s kinsmen, led by High Chief George Nwabueze, stood in defence of their daughter, exonerating her from any wrongdoing in the purchase of the cars.
The protesting young men and women, who carried placards with different inscriptions, accused an unnamed ‘cabal’ of being behind the calls for the removal of the minister.
The youths insisted that the intention of the cabal was to stop the minister from going ahead with her transformation agenda in the aviation sector.
See "finger-pointing" .... in the wrong direction for that matter!

Stella Oduah: The group, who spoke through their leader, Emeka Agbo, said Igbo youths were prepared to go the whole hog to ensure that their daughter was protected. “Before she came to office, we were hearing about international airport but today, it has become a reality in Igboland. We are ready to swim and sink with her.”
Okay now, another round of "Gra-Gra" wan start, abi? What is it this time? Court or Secession? grin grin

Stella Oduah: Agbo, who is a student at the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu said some highly-placed individuals were determined to rubbish the towering pedigree and achievements of the minister.
He said, “This is a woman that has given the aviation sector a new face since she came into office. Today, our airports can compete with airports in foreign countries.
Really, its either these Igbo youths have NEVER been to any of our airports or the smell of "looted aviation budget" has intoxicated them like Opium! shocked Even ordinary "air-field" in Cotonou is better than our Airports! grin grin

Stella Oduah: On their part, the people of Ogbaru, led by Nwabueze, said the battle was not about the minister but the 2015 presidential elections.
Nwabueze said some people who are not comfortable with the transformation agenda of the president had ganged up to tarnish the image of members of the federal cabinet.
“They also want to rubbish the President ahead of the next election,” he said.
Nwabueze said the criticisms against the minister of aviation were not based on genuine grounds, but were politically motivated.
I see, so it was the President that sent her or instigated these callous thievery? How much is the President getting out of it, how much is his share?

I mean, before this thief was appointed a Minister, her "security or life was not under threat" ... and she did not use her own hard-earned money to buy Bullet proof cars at 100% inflated prices!
But once she had access to public purse, she suddenly developed all sorts of illness and she needs to use public money to solve all her family problems. huh huh

In a sane country not run by clueless men who grew up without shoes, thieves like these would be sentenced to life imprisonment or hanged publicly!
But these is Nigeria sha, some stewpid Okonkwo will tell us they want to rubbish her "corrupt" image!
No wonder we are perpetually under-developing

How about sign petitions against those who destroyed the past, present and future of those millions of Nigerians sending spam mails everywhere? Charity they say begins at home. Ted Cruz has never hurt any Nigerian, neither has he stolen from Nigerians. He was speaking metaphorically, or should I say, figuratively. And he owes no one an apology.

I guess I'll never understand the mentality/experience of Nigerians
.

I am going to "leave your post alone" but the bolded part of your post indicates that you know not, what you are yearning about.

...except you believe that ALL NIGERIANS are SCAMMERS?

...to associate "scam" with the "nation Nigeria" ... is an insult to ALL hardworking Nigerians (and it hurts!) and it is OFFENSIVE to our sensibilities.

"SOME" Nigerians are scammers, ... just like "some Americans" are scammers but would l be right to say or imply that "Americans are scammers"?

Dont think so.

If he wants to "speak figuratively", why not use "Americans" as his figure of speech?
Figurative koo, figurine nii.

Okay, l have left your post alone. No dissing.

Lastpage!

BTW: if you want to talk of "real scam", you need to try the East Europeans.... but since they are "white", l guess they are off the radar.
better to tarnish "black people" ....who dont actually value themselves anyway, ...than tarnish a white person. wink
