BetaThings: I pity Yoruba MuslimsCan you CITE EXAMPLES of this your CLAIM? Is it because Yorubas have wizened-up to understand that God/Allah does not need mere mortals (humans) to fight on his behalf? If He is truly God, then He is strong enough to fight his own battles. Thats just plain common sense and logical. Anything apart from this is religious fanaticism borne out of sheer ignorance and blood-thirstiness. Awaiting your "PROOF". Lastpage! |
I have noticed something here! Not a single one of our "Muslim Bothers" have addressed the issue of: 1.) The Protesters blocked the road and prevented the soldiers from passing 2.) The Shiyte protesters harassed soldiers, threw stones at them 3.) The Protesters tried to disarm a soldier and shot the soldier in the process 4.) The Soldiers waited for over 35minutes for them to pass along peacefully but they did not 5.) The Soldiers shot IN THE AIR at first, to disperse them but they still refused to disperse 6.) Members of the protesting group opened fire on the soldiers 7.) it was after the above incident that the Soldiers opened fire on them in retaliation. Why is it that no Muslim or Northern brother threatening fire and brimestone here (people like "caseless" can take time to address these issues as reported by many people who are eye-witness to what occurred? One silly one even said the protesters where shot in their HOME! In as much as l believe that "Peaceful Protest" is a fundamental human right (irrespective of what you are protesting against), l also think that "flagrant display of insensitivity and abuse of priviledge" to the point of opening fire on Soldiers on patrol is just an invitation for retalliation. Even in western countries where "human rights" are respected, you hold a gun, you are a legitimate target to be shot. its a s simple as that. Please address those issues raised first, before mouthing away at what you will do in return. ARE THEY TRUE OR NOT? Lastpage! BTW: Just curious, is it deliberate that the Sheiks sons are studying Chemical Engineering (Bomb making!) and Aeronautical Engineering (Plane siezure, diversion and Hijack!)? Hmmm....... just curious at his "foresight" o! ![]() |
I think people should gerrit! There is nothing wrong in PROTESTING over ANYTHING. Its a human right. That they chose to protest for Palestinians (and not brigbackourgirls) is just a matter of choice, its about where their priority lies. Morally, we may object but it still does not make it wrong; So people should stop criticizing them for PROTESTING. What we need to highlight is that they chose to be "armed" and they chose to be "violent to the point of opening fire on a soldier". That is the wrong part of the whole procession. That is what got some of them killed. END OF STORY. Lastpage! BTW: the way Sahara Reporters posted this story is very disappointing. I do enjoy their posts very well as Sowore was ........... But in a very "delicate time" like this, you need to VERIFY ISSUES first before posting it as "fact". You cant just paste online what one side of the story sent to you ...otherwise, you must put "clauses" like "unconfirmed report", "unverified information" ..or just wait till you can get a true picture. This post is inciting and should be brought down from the site AP. I have made my objection know to them anyway! ![]() |
caseless: u think the fight btw FG and shiite wil b restricted to d north like boko haram? FYI, they're over 5 million shiite members allover nigeria. If ur govt can't defeat boko haram that cannot boast of 3000 members, then how can they defeat shiite numbring in millions? The gudnews is that, they'r allover nigeria, and that why asinines like u ar gonna be slaughtered when d fight start proper. It is not goin to b only north this time around, but the whole nigeria..including ur cabin(called room) whr u type balderdash. You know what? You remind me of a video on Youtube where Islamic Fanatics like you removed the clothings of three women, recited some Alhawakurubau stuffs and began to SLAUGHTER THEM LIKE CHICKENS! Yes, they cut them into pieces with machete and Axes Now, something tells me that if you have the opportunity, YOU will have no qualms doing the same thing to the guy you posted the above to! Dont you guys even have any respect for human life? Even if you must kill (The state authority do authorize death sentence at times but they still try to do it in a "humane way" must you do it so crudely? Are you savages? Even animals dont eat each others intestines but one needs to look at these videos where Muslims slaughter other humanbeings to really wonder: Are these killers also humans or devils? Your "choice of word" is chilling and l think you need to be watched carefully. The fact that you did not say "killed", even if you think he should die .... (and said slaughtered instead), shows that someone like you is a "butcher"! You are another savage murderer in disguise. Lastpage! |
ChemicalMallam: Let me ask a question, y didnt dey protest for chibok, kaduna blast and all other blast.....What people dont understand is: this shiite people re basically rallying cos d majority of of palastine re der fellow shiite. This people re not protesting for muslim but for there shiite agenda....and do you in your folly think that JUSTIFIES MURDERING THEM IN COLD BLOOD? It does not matter that they are Muslims; as a Christian, l detest these indiscriminate killings. Okay, what exactly was their offence? When did "death by summary execution" become the punishment for a non-violent protest? Even if their protest was for supporting Boko Haram, as long as they are NOT VIOLENT and do not threaten the peace of other by-standers, the worst any sane government should do is to "arrest them and charge them to court". And to think its the same Soldiers that could not #bringbackourgirls in over three months? The same Soldiers that are afraid of entering Sambissa Forest to route out that blood-thirsty-r*pist called Shekau? Okay, l understand, it is a "show of courage and gallantry" for Soldiers to engage "battle-hardened, UNARMED CIVILIANS" and murder them in cold blood!. I hail Nigerian Soldiers o, ...but remember that "Dearis Goodu Oooo"! Lastpage! BTW: Protesting the massacre going on in Palestine right now, is not just limited to Muslims alone, or Nigeria alone, its been ongoing in ALL European capitals (check online), in all western countries, inclusive of America. That is what people with any iota of "Godliness" are doing, irrespective of creed or religion. Evil is Evil, anywhere, any-time by anyone. Edited: "IF"... and that is a Capital "IF"! if it is true that someone in the groupof Protesters FIRST opened fire on the Nigerian Military, then a "RED LINE" has been crossed! You dont open fire on a Soldier serving the country, never. You get shot and killed very quickly. End of Story. If it is TRUE, l repeat. Assuming it is true, all Muslims must condemn the person/persons that opened fire ... and such person/persons must hold responsibility for any and all death that follows. @caseless: Did you read that your guys opened fire on the Soldiers first? Do you support that? Do you still stand by that your "rant" about 'Shiite' everywhere killing other Nigerians? Call a spade, a spade. Condemn evil, wherever it happens. I am sure people from the South of Nigeria are not fanatics and they are always very reasonable when it comes to religious issue. They wont just start a senseless attack as you want them to, they would "read through thoroughly" and make wise decisions. they are not that "fanatical and sheepish" as Muslims in the North anyway. |
Mccullum: What's unite in United Nations, had it been Russia attack ukrain the Western powers will be screaming, even they'll be ready to intervene due to Ukraine is member of NATO especially US while most of them silence as Isreal continue to kill Palestinian populace because US gives Israel money to buy weapons annually to kill who? Palestina of course! who are defenseless with their primitive weapons. for those that supporting Isreal on religion reason should be human because inhumanity it is crime against humanity. Isreal even has jews, follow by muslims & the lowest are christians. may God give us global peace. (Amen)http://www.thejournal.ie/un-agency-says-it-asked-israel-for-time-to-leave-bombed-school-1588663-Jul2014/ This murderous nation asked Palestinians to "vacate" their homes in a matter of "hours" or get nuked! Imagine yourself ina country without good roads, you have no car and if you do, Israel has deprived it of petrol and it controls EVERYTHING that goes in or out of Gaza .... and being asked to move the whole family out within a few hours or get murdered! Well, some did the unthinkable ...and MOVED, because they know that this killer-nation has no qualms in killing women, children and the elderly. Guess what? Even after running away, at great effort and peril to seek "SHELTER IN A U.N HOSPITAL", ... Israel still went ahead and BOMBED THE U.N HOSPITAL ... killing so many little children! I guess some silly and ignorant Nigerians will still come here and 'parrot' Israel that they were shooting Rockets (within a few hours of getting there), from that U.N Hospital as well, huh? The same way it has been bombing U.N schools. This country called Israel is no different from Boko Haram in its tactics and moral compass. A SENSELESS MURDERER! No wonder a lot of social media people are trending #HITLER was actually RIGHT! ... ...since he tried to exterminate these people he referred to as "vermin and disease" to the world. Some other people have said that Israel will be responsible for instigating a 3rd world war very soon, sooner than imagined and policy documents revealed by some authors say Israel has "PROMISED" to nuke the whole world (it has a good stockpile) and destroy it if it ever felt threatened again. From planning and executing 9/11, to "stealth and deceptive" assassinations all over the world, e.t.c This much was evidenced in many publications and one Author in particular, "The Samson Option" by Seymour Hersh. If you remember the story of "Samson & Delilah" in the Bible and how Samson decided if he had to die, he must bring down the Pillars supporting the building ... and kill everybody along. He did, killed himself and EVERYONE ELSE. Now you know Israel's plan for the world, if you dont know before. Google the book, its a worth read for anyone interested in how Israel became a Nuclear 'nut'. Whether it will succeed in its alleged plan is another thing sha but for now, it should please stop murdering BABIES in Gaza. Lastpage!

I will simply remind the father (my husband) that "the boy took after him", like he always say when he does nice things! Now, go and clean the mess "you and your boy" created ....after-all, "He took after you"! LAWS in general, nay Mathematical "LAWS" are UNIVERSAL with no "iffs" and ""buts". For example, Newton Laws of motion (Every 'body' continues in a state of rest or uniform motion unless and impressed force acts on it / Action and Reaction are equal and Opposite, e.t.c) have no "iffs" or "buts" and will ALWAYS apply to every object on this face of the erath which is where the law was written for. Your so called "formula" is just an attempt to shorten a calculation, nice attempt though but you are very far from having "A LAW/FORMULA" because your "trick" is only valuable or valid ..for CERTAIN NUMBERS I do applaud your effort though..... You need to work more on it who knows, you might be Nigeria's Einstein! Lastpage! BTW: You need something that applies to ALL NUMBERS |
2sExy1: that snail was never an entertaining 10. The guy popsy or mumsy juju strong abeg... Imagine people hyping the snail and each time I watch him play, I fail to see the scintillating or alluring flavor he is attributed with... Juju abeg. You are very wrong Bro! You need to go back and watch the FIFA under 19 game that featured "The Snail" and "World Best" Lionel Messi. Infact, dont just watch that final game, watch all the Nigeria games that took us to that final against Argentina .... and come back here to tell us if you still think that way! Do you remember that Man U and Chelsea were fighting over who will have him from his Norwegian club? (with another player, l think Tevez) Honestly, as someone who played the game to some level, "The Snail" was very good (in those days) and l was confident that he would easily take over and be even better than the mercurial Jay-Jay because he completely dominated and stamped his authority on that mid-field (which is where l play too ).But when Chelsea put some millions into his account, like most Nigerian players from very poor moral and fInancial background, HE WAS BLOWN AWAY! He started acting like "Mr. Big Man". You know in Nigeria, "Big Men" dont hussle, they dont shout, they dont run, they are not accountable to anyone, patriotism is not in their dictionary, they are not 'hungry' for anything, they dont stress themselves and they just "take it easy"! ![]() He forgot it was those things that brought him the money and glory .... and "salt that looses its taste ceases to be salt anymore"! Trust me, Mikel Slowbie is another "arrested development". Lastpage! |
paroh137: Not surprising at all with the below par performance the both of them put up at the world cup. In other news, up Iheanacho! #TeamIheanachoThere was a thread on Nairaland a few days ago titled "Players that Failed to live up to their Hype or Underperformed for the Super Eagles. In that thread, l mentioned Victor Moses and Mikel "SlOwbie". Some disagreed! Even if the Chelsea was still in doubt about whether these two can still make the cut if given more action time on the field, their disgraceful performance (and it seems deliberate, especially for Mikel Slowbie who likes to play like "Chairman, super rich boy" any time he is in a Super Eagles shirt, very sluggish and disadvantageous to his team mates) atthe just concluded W.Cup is enough reason for any sensible coach (and Jose Maurinho knows better) to quickly make up their mind. Well, they "had it coming" for them. Let him go to MLS ....... wait o, ![]() But sadly, l still wonder" What mad a very promising lad like Mikel Slowbie, who neck-to-neck with Lionel Messi in that Youth Competition, completely over-shadowed Messi, to turn out to be this type of monumental disappointment while Messi is moving from strength to strength? 1wolex85: . So u want apc to field fash so they will lose abi? We all know voting isn't based on merit in dis part of d world and the numbers don't favour fash. We all know the se and ss will vote gej even if Jesus says otherwise. The block votes fash would get down south will be from sw. Now in the north, will they rather vote a fashola who may seek a second term rather than vote a gej who will be spending his last term so they can return to the top? Your guess is as good as mine. The only motivation for the north to vote for fash is his capability and we all know it doesn't count for much in this part of the world, a really sorry state. So apc will likely field a northerner if they want to win, simple! Sad but true. This how l like people to reason and debate ... with quiescent LOGIC, not abuses and flagrant display of bad upbringing or this "paid-for", die-hard illogical party support/affiliation. I dof my hat to you for your understanding of the intricacies of Nigerian politics.. Its a shame that the same Nigerians who are crying of marginalization and poverty, are the same ones who would vote en-mass, like 'sheeple' without asking themselves: WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME AND MY CHILDREN? I just hope Fashola can increase the spate of these type of mass-produced housing units, ..... ....look and research into the areas of bringing the cost of building them down drastically (without sacrificing quality of course) because if "mass housing" if for the common man, then the current price that these houses are being sold for (as a result of production cost and a whiff of "in-built" corruption of-course!) is not certainly for the common man. Dont see "Mama (Chu)-Kudi who sells in her kiosk being able to afford one .... or is it just meant for 'civil servants' that live, pay tax and vote in Lagos? BRF, ride on, nothing do you! Lastpage! |
STOP ARGUING PLEASE! Facts: 1.) There EVIL forces and there are GOOD forces/spirits 2.) It is ONLY what you "BELIEVE IN" that would "work for you" ..... or "affect you". You think-it "long enough", it will manifest in the physical/reality. 3.) As for why the Whites could still enslave our fore-fathers, the truth is that "some of our powerful fore-fathers", even with their power, got fooled .....for simple things like "Mirror, Gun powder, Radio, e.t.c".... that the white man came with and gave to them! ..... And they were willing to exchange their people/enemies as slaves, to the white man (a house divided against itself cannot stand) Slavery has a great element of "collaboration" in it. 4.) Technology is a "physical manifestation" of "forces" (Good or Evil); The white folks used theirs to develop planes, guns, explosives, laws of motion and electricity (and used the knowledge developed from these, to make weapons, to their advantage .... while we Africans used ours to chase and kill our Neighbours ( just like this Op! ) or just to do things that have no positive impact on life and living."Christian/Muslim Prayer" is a form of "religious Juju-incantations" because it appeals to the spiritual realm. We all practice one form of Juju or the other! That you dont believe it, does not mean it doesn't exist .... it only means you may never experience it (and it may not have an effect on you) So please, 'each man to his own tent' ....believers and Unbelievers. Cheers. Lastpage! |
There are Bad players ..... juts plain useless from day one! Then there are good players, average may be a better description of them. They are played a few good games and thats all There there are BRILLIANT players, players who have played and shown enough quality for us to put our hopes in them .... They have been given consistent opportunity to show-case their skills and each time, they dash our hopes. They are not injured or suffer from lack of playing time. It is that "hope" which they dashed that makes them a flop! Now, if l look back for say over the last five to ten years, only one name keeps coming to my mind as the GREATEST FLOP EVER (refer back to that definition of "flop", again, not necessarily the worst player ever!) Okay, take our last world cup games and examine it again. Who was that player that gets a pass, controls the ball and then goes on to "take a nap", then lazily turns around to look at his Goal Keeper (from the middle of the field o!), wonders for a few seconds what he should do and then decides its better to make a "back pass" in the hope someone would be there to retrieve the ball. .... and while still making up his mind, an opponent has sneaked-in and collect the ball from his leg! Lets be honest about this, as much as l always pray for him to live up to his expectations and billing (each time l remember the way he "marshalled the mid-field, dictated the pace of the game and generally stamped his authority on everyone on the field in a W.Cup match, l cry at his demise!)... That MASTER-FLOP is MIKEl OBI (some of you have rightly tagged him SNAIL SLOWBI! )Even if we argue that Chelsea's tactics destroyed him but have you wondered whether William and Ramires? Both forward thinking and ambitiously speedy players? This our own Mikel Obi (Slowbie, l mean) has added that "silent killer" to his game: BIG-MANISSM! he thinks he is soo good that the opponents will be just too scared to come near him! ![]() The last few games he has played in the national colors, l would have preferred even an old, expired J.J Okocha to just "stand there and verbally pass instructions"! I salute his level of "Floppiness". Lastpage! BTW: Is it a coincidence that the trio of Premier League players we took to the W.Cup were ALL FLOPS? Mikel Slowbi, Shola Ameobi and Victor Moses? Ameobi, l can pardon, he was never outstanding and is past his "sell-by-date", even by Newcastle standards, I dont know what Keshi "collected" to field him (probably a future coaching assistance job in Newcastle).. ...but Mikel 'Slowbie' and Moses are still young guys, For Fecks Sake? ![]() |
drauj: Well, I don't think if he was a man of questionable integrity he'd have played the kind of roles he did in the international sphere. Guys grow up and appreciate excellence and integrity.Gerrout my friend, your reasoning and logic(or lack of it) is astounding! Did OBJ not enjoy and played so many role in the international fora, even more than Lukman? Good riddance to one of those "bad rubbish" joor. People who were in position to build the structures of this country by virtue of being the first crop of scholars, that enjoyed free and scholaship education, enjoyed juicy posts over and over again yet when the country was very rich......., They left the current generation and children unborn with nadda, they left them 'high and dry", as we say. I repeat, let him rot in hell. One of the greatest problem of this country is that even the "oppressed and marginalized citizenry" are so happy to applaud their oppressors! Now, that is beyond me. Lastpage! BTW: When l finish mourning all the innocent people killed by those illiterate Boko Haram, (made illiterate by the same thieving Cabals like Rilwan Lukman!), l may have some tears left for the passing away of people like Rilwan Lukman who were in position to influence history positively but could only think about themselves and their pocket. |
Its a blessing in so many ways! *First, you get all sort of morons who can be your parents, kneeling down for you and calling you "Mummy P" (P for Pastor!) *Secondly, you get an undeserved "POLITICAL appointment" within the Church! A.K.A "women Leader"!! *Thirdly, you get to suddenly become a "business icon" as part of the church assets acquired with members contribution, is registered in your name (initially as 'Chair-woman' of Governing body but later, behind anyone's knowledge, as C.E.O and eventual owner)...e.g Church's Crèche, Nursery and Primary schools But most importantly, you get "direct access" to the looting and further impoverishment of already poor church members. After-all, you are the one controlling the Pastor himself, he knows this and he will not anger you less you "expose" his shennanigans! ![]() Walahi, if l be woman, na Naija Pentecostal Pastor l will loff forever! Op, I want you to come out and tell us/me that there is more to what is bordering you than "How she dresses". I know this and l can smell it from a thousand miles but l appear to be the only one thinking along this line (abi l dey crase nii sef? Pause and think, look inwards and try to figure out what you think its really is. (Maybe you already know anyway) The fact that "cheating" crossed your mind indicates that you have thought "long and far". I referred to "change in loyalty" in my previous post (and that is a gamut of things in itself) but it is a summary of the whole show. I remember this saying: "If you love me, you will do almost anything to make me happy". True-dat!! Finally, this issue is not about "religion" at all ...... its just that the Op's wife manifested her "change of loyalty" 'religiously'. My warning to all married men, guard your wife/husband from the over-reaching influence of these MOG's, for by the nature of their 'business', it is normal for them to seek "unfeterred loyalty", like from a Dog to its owner. That is what makes the business grow (or how do you explain an unemployed young man who goes to church to clean Pastors office at 9am in the morning (when all his mates are out looking for job, writing aptitude tests, doing interviews or even prowling the web for possible job offerings), returns at 5pm in the evening and is back in church again at 7pm (for digging deep) and then goes back home by 9:30pm only to be back again at midnight (for Night Vigil)? Is that not total submission/loyalty to the control of a fellow man? As they do to the young man, so they expect from your/our wives (They know married men are a bit stubborn). They will employ all sorts of gimmicks to divert and re-direct the loyalty of spouses to themselves and against the other spouse. I've seen it happen countless number of times in different churches. Some call it 'faith', some call it 'total submission' to the will of 'gwod', some call it 'surrender' and all sort of funny-funny acronyms. This man must by now have accepted that he has "lost his wife". His post is just all about easing the pain and agony of that sudden realization. The "cheating part" is actually just a mask, it has nothing to do with the problem he is facing. So saad. But That is life for you. Man-up and take it on the chin. Stay focused because its actually not the end of life but the beginning of life in anew chapter and on a different level. if need be, you will file for Divorce in the future but until then, dont cheat (it has repercussions and its never a justification for what you went through) abandonment and denial of conjugal bliss is a valid ground, even inthe sight of the creator who implanted such needs into us, a priori. Lastpage! |
I have read all previous post but from my own "life experiences" (not personal experience, before u begin ask me kwesion o! ), there are two things you cannot take away or change in a woman. I call then the "No Going Back bridge", once crossed. 1.) The day she opens her legs for another man, apart from her husband 2.) The day she becomes a Religious fanatic and thinks her Church/Pastor in more important than her Husband/Home. I wont say much but l will address this Op directly: a.) I know you love your wife and wish you can turn back the hands of the clock but with time, you will realize that your life has just changed. You have just crossed a line but everything now depends on how you can deal with it. b.) trying times are ahead for you, be strong and be ready to face turmoil (Already your heart is troubled). c.) I hate to say this but "There is no going back" at this point. You may try to "live with it" (and you have my greatest support on this decision) but something tells me that you may have lost the woman you married. Lets come back to this thread in about 3-5 years from now and tell me if l am wrong! . Otherwise, you may end up living alone for a long time to come. d.) Dont even consider "cheating" on her (Its like you are degrading your self and desecrating your own body which is the temple of God!) As a young/middle-aged person, you have 'conjugal needs' but as long as you are married to somebody, those needs must be satisfied with that person, no 'if and buts'! e.) To be honest (and you need to be honest to yourself), it is not her "dress-mode or hygiene" that is actually your biggest problem, it is her "CHANGE IN LOYALTY" that is eating you up. If l am right, will you be honest to say so to yourself, but better if you can say it publicly? Marriage is a 'commitment between two people' (l never said 'contract') ...and it is about 'commitments' between the two! *Your wife is no longer committed to you, you know it and you feel it in everything she does, right? *You try to "reverse the trend" but it is even getting worse, right? * You are afraid that the marriage is breaking down, right? *You are considering your "options" silently within you, right? * But most painful is that she just doesn't even care if you go or stay (she is married to Jayzusss now In the coming months, you will go through a lot of agony, your heart will be pained and you will cry in silence (its okay to cry, even as a man) but you need to remain mentally strong, remain focused and know that "bad things ALSO happen to good people". It appears you are a good person at heart. If anyone tells you she will "come back" to her "old self", they are deceiving you, or they just want to console you because the truth can be harsh at times and we all shy away from being the one to bell the cat. Even right now, there are things l would have opened your eyes to that l am afraid your heart and mind may not be ready to accept and withstand, so better to take it one step at a time. if you have kid(s), take solace in them and always be there for them, no matter what happens. Pray and l also pray that God will heal your heart, in time. Such is Life, l feel for you. Lastpage! |
winner01: Look around you, islam does not value life, peace, love and many more when it comes to Jihad...That explains the spirit that takes charge in you when you believe in and bow down to the devil....Many moderate muslims are fed up of violence here and der, but its beyond their power or understanding...May God open our eyes.Caveat: I am a Christian. But let us take a pause and ask ourselves: Do you know that if you feed uncooked meat to a little, innocent boy for long enough, he will become a flesh-eating cannibal? *Granted that Islam is a religion of piss and has a lot of "aggression" in-built into it from day one, do we not know that by castigating and terrorising them (as Israel has done to the Arabs, especially the Palestinians), we are actually re-inforcing those bad behaviours and actually justifying it in their eyes? *Do we as Christians ever ask oursleves why the one we follow (Christ) asked us to "turn the left cheek, if slapped on the right cheek", when he could have ordered us to deliver a resounding "counter-slap" to our aggressors? * Do we not realize that Christ was teaching us how we can use "positive attitudes and positive re-inforcement" to change the ways of our aggressors? * Do we not realize that if we as Christians (like America, Israel, Europe, Canada, e.t.c are doing) continue to "demonize these demons", that they will become more demonized and .... ....take it from me today, Knowledge is never hidden for ever! One day, an Arab country will possess the ultimate weapon, a Nuclear weapon, clandestinely l think, just like Israel possessed it clandestinely....... Then, each side will have equal opportunity to destroy the other! What are we going to do then? We keep fooling ourselves (as with Iran now) thinking we can continue to intimidate these nations into submission, so we can continue to dominate and rule over them willy-nilly, instead of addressing their issues, based on Justice and fair-play! Imagine when America says it is brokering peace between Israel and Palestine and the first thing that comes out of the mouth of the "peace-broker President" is that "We stand by Israel"? How can that be a honest broker? I am for Peace and Justice, fairness and Equality. I say Give the Palestinians back their land, let them have their country, let them rule over themselves and then, lets see what happens after that. At least at that point, they would not have any justification, however stewpid, to say "We have no choice than to defend our every survival under Israeli occupation". You say Palestininas think (their) life is is worthless? really, their life is worthless if you look at it properly; l dont want to go into details but as a Palestinian, theirlife might not be worth living at all. "Life, has the value you actually let it have" A mother in Palestine has to give birth to about 25children in her lifetime, so that at least one can survive to the age of 30yrs, before he/she is killed by an Israeli Missile or soldier! victorazy: MD will always be angry when his employee is pregnant and this can affect employment market especially women. That woman can talk the way she is speaking since the salary for the "paid leave" is not coming from her pockets. I can bet that if she owns an enterprise, the same woman will not allow her staff 12wks paid leave, not to talk of 24! While the development is good in general terms (mother have more time to spend with their babies and fathers too), l think we should always "put our mouth where our money is". I want to challenge the States and Federal Govts to FUND THIS DECISION. If a woman is employed either in public or private sector, there should be no discrimination. All the govt needs to do is to ask the private employer to send-in the bill for the womans maternity leave (that is the extra six months) and Govt should reimburse the employer. That way, both public and private sectors are covered....... and then we can believe that she is not just acting for the gallery, if you get my jist. ![]() As for the Paternity leave, l think it is really pathetic.... just 10days? I recall when my wife gave birth to my first son, it was through C.S and she was so drained that l heard her SNORING for the first time (and do l hate snoring?)! Well, it informed me that she must have "died and come back to life" after that delivery!. So, when baby cries during the night, she was not even aware and l was the one that had to wake-up, change his darn nappies, wipe his butt and feed him on stored milk and at times when he finishes the milk and still wants more, l will crop him up against her br*est so he can suckle while she is still sleeping! Geeze, that 'accuse' can suck bobby from day one! You can imagine when l get to work the following morning, and l have to be on the road by 6:15am latest (V.I tinz) to beat the traffic, only to spend the whole day in a daze 'cause that is what sleep deprivation does to you, over time. In the "WEST", men have become "domesticated" .... like a "house Cat" that sees a rat but would never pursue, talk-less of eating it, because the cat has been fed with "canned food" all its life! Dont blame the cat (Siena and people who think that way ), it is regurgitating what it was fed with!Garbage-in, garbage-out! On the other hand, l hope women actually knows what they want but they are soo greedy and selfish that they flip and flop at every opportunity, once it suits their cravings! If its 50-50, then a man should do exactly what a woman does (can do). But most women wanted to be treated like a woman (40/60), its the man's job to go to work and provide for the family naaw? Walelavender: Do I need to contest your 'well' presented projects Mr PA? Did I insult the personality of the Governor who got my vote in 2011? Were lives not lost couple of weeks ago when the pedestrian bridge failed? Could there have been casualties if the re-constructed one had failed during the day yesterday? Is the definition of a bridge not a structure carrying a road or a path across a river or an obstacle? If my post is really giving you a headache won't you have to bare it since you were paid to do this? Answer all these questions with a deep sense of responsibility. GoodniteLook, l think you have made your point, dpnt argue with "political otimkpus". We know a lot of them on Nairaland, paid and those who just do it out of sheer ignorance. The saying that "The people deserve the kind of government they get" is very apt, when it comes to the case of most Nigerians. I was watching a BBC TV program today about how some residence of Redmond street, in a council area of U.K were negotiating with their council officials about how much the council will "buy-over" their houses from them because those houses, though not council houses, were built on lad purchased by the council and had dangerous level of Methane gas. These means the houses could explode and catch fire at a certain high level of methane (highly combustible gas which seeped into the houses from underground as a result of poor construction procedure) What really caught my attention was that the Council officials were "negotiating and pleading" with the owners to seel the house to them, so they can demolish it for safety reasons. Everyone eventually agreed to sell to the council after agreeing a reasonable price but one man still refused to sell his own property ....and he was left alone since that was his choice, but the Council still opted to implement "an Engineering solution" to assist him live safeky albiet a bit uncomfortably! I asked myself: assuming if this was in Nigeria or Lagos, what would have happened? from experience, the Governor or LGA Chairman would just by "FIAT Authority", ask those people to move out within seven days, send heavily armed Mopol and Soldiers to beat the daylights out of anyone who decides to "dare question him", destroy all their properties and eventually arrogate the place to himself and his party thugs/cronies. It happened in Moroko, i happened in Whitesand, it happened under Mallam El Rufai in Abuja, it happened around so many government reclaimed areas. ....and it "hit me" in the face that this is the difference between being "a ruler" and being a "public servant"; being an Oppressor and a Leader. More importantly, between being a citizen who knows and demands for his right to be respected by those in authority! Lastpage! BTW: It irks me so much when and why every important discussion is turned to an E-fight between APC and PDP? Why cant we discuss issues without colouring it or taking sides, based on political affiliations? Are we this stewpid or what? ![]() A failed bridge is a failed bridge, temporary or not, ...whether built by Jonathan or Ajumobi, bottom line is that it has failed th epeople who are supposed to be the beneficiary. SirKay3: All, don't let us crucify the OP please. I believe he's got a point to prove, though the photos he posted didn't really back up his claim.Thank you very much for shedding light on what exactly happened. No need to crucify the "Op" as the "main elements" of his post have been corroborated ... by the post above. The main elements are: 1.) There was a wooden/plank temporary bridge (l dont need to start defining the English meaning of the word "bridge", go check it out if you dont know) 2.) The wooden, temporary bridge was washed off (not the first time as the gut who NYSC-served in that area has noted) 3.) After the last "wash-away", Ajumobi came there with his team of photographers and press crew, to "commission the erection of another TEMPORARY BRIDGE (This much was testified to by the erection and placement of new structures - Two new, metal structures, sand filling , e.t.c). Comment: A lot of people dont understand English at all and fail to notice that the word "commission" does not apply to a "new thing or opening/launching ceremony" only. It can also signify "start, commence or initiate" (as in "start a project/ commission a project) the beginning of something. This is what Op was saying when he said "Gov. came to commission the footbridge". Perfectly in order. 4.) The Bridge the Gov. commissioned was WASHED AWAY by rains. 5.) Whether temporary bridge or not, whatever we put-in-place for "public use", must have a measure of in-built safety and security! Notice that the former "temporary bridge" which was swept away (before the one Ajumobi commissioned was also swept away!), got SWEPT AWAY ALONG WITH 35 HUMANBEINGS LIKE ME AND YOU! Luck was just on our side that this one got swept away at night when the "temporary bridge" was not in use! You either do it PROPERLY or you dont do it at all. Now, my take is that instead of being too "stewpidly eager" to condemn the Op, we should have focused our energy on understanding what actually happened and demanding of our leaders to "DO THINGS PROPERLY". I dont have to remind you to just check-out how much was earmarked and spent on that "temporary bridge",...... it might be the same amount with the cost of building that Fashola fly-over (Ikoyi/V.I link bridge) ![]() Lastpage! Caveat: I am no supporter of any of these "supporter of APC political parties" (APC/PDP,Labour or whatever), my interest is in good governance, probity, zero-tolerance for official corruption and eradication of ignorance amongst the populace (in the latter l think l am failing woefully!) |
Nigerians need to understand that we are under siege and these leeches will not stop until they suck the life out of all of us, in their penchant to be individually richer than the world bank! Dont ask me what they do with the money. I am not politically affiliated but l can tell you that while you'all fight and support one party over another, the criminals in these parties don't give a hoot about the populace, all they care about is the money they make from our poor sweat and if we continue to be stupid as we have been, there will be no end to this punishment and infliction of pain. Instead, like the Op mentioned, they will drive a "honest man" to look for dishonest ways of surviving but then, they would also be the ones to put you behind bars (if not shot by their silly Police) for violating the law ... laws which they themselves violate with impunity and without any consequence! I see a lot of Nigerians just dying under the weight of "trying to survive on a daily basis" when they could have channeled half of that energy into ensuring that we have a good and responsible government that cares about the people. Boko Haram is not even our greatest threat in Nigeria (those ones are just deranged, religious fanatics); our greatest problem are our leaders (past and present) who have turned us into ATM machines for their unending greed, inhuman oppression and ostentatious life-style. These band of vipers will not let-go peacefully, they are used to looting, oppressing and sucking the blood of ordinary hardworking Nigerians, with impunity and the only language they understand is "forceful protest". One writer said "Fear is the key that unlocks the pocket of the rich oppressors". Think about it. In every country that have turned around to cater for its citizens, it is "the fear of mass revolt" that made their leaders listen to the citizens, how do you think Nigeria's case, a country whose leaders are noted for their "legendary greed", can be different. Nigerians must wise-up or continue to suffer the consequence, till death but l know that "One day, when the level of poverty becomes truly unbearable.... (remember the second republic Senator/Minister, Umaru Dikko of NPN in those days, who said he is yet to see Nigerians eating from the dustbins?), ....that is when Nigerians whose life has really lost all meaning, will rise-up and say "Enough is Enough, better to die with dignity than to live in abject poverty". For now, we ain't see nothing yet, let the suffering be further ramped-up. We are still lucky we have other countries (whose citizens fought their battle, to emancipate themselves), to run to. Those doors are closing by the day. I WEEP FOR MY COUNTRY. Lastpage! |
mrtruth: Honestly anyone who has not experienced this sort of nepa criminality would not understand the gravity of what op is saying. My shop where I sell cold drinks has been closed for nearly a month now because recently another team of nepa officers came and said my monthly bill of NI500 which I paid faithfully was too small. Come and see how they were actind as if they'd caught a thief. It was terrible. They say I should additional N21000 b4 they reconnected me and triggered a new bill that I should be paying.I really feel for the Op and others in this debacle! Estimated Billing is and has always been a criminal way of fleecing people. You should count what is on the meter on monthly basis and issue bills accordingly. That "faulty meter" story is a blatant lie used to justify 'estimation' otherwise someone who ordered that meter in PHCN, needs to go to jail! It appears that Nigerians are being railed into a new form of slavery, in their fatherland, by their own people in the 21st century. Nigeria is not the only country in the world where electricity is being generated but we are unfortunate in the sense that the "regulators" and the "suppliers/providers" they are supposed to regulate ...and the government itself, have morphed into a single unit. Without being dramatic, we know that every humanbeing has a criminal tendency but they are only put into check by "laws and attached punishments". Just imagine the situation we have now whereby our national assets like NEPA were privatized and sold cheaply to our previous and current leaders (using fronts), these same leaders (who are now owners) appoint Regulators who are under their bidding, to monitor their own company which they set up to fleece Nigerians? For example, only in Nigeria can a DISCO not provide you electricity for a whole year and you are still charged and liable for #9,000 FIXED CHARGE (#750 FOR EVERY MONTH OF THAT YEAR). Now imagine in Lagos for example, if five million households have to pay 9,000 x 5,000,000? Which implies the owner of each DISCO (The Babangidas, Abubakars, Madame Dame Jonathans , e.t.c, just go back and see the list of the owners of these DISCOS!) can rake in 45Billion Naira every year, in Lagos alone without lifting a finger! Fixed charge should/are always a percentage (say 5% ) of amount due in reasonable countries but in Nigeria, it has gradually got to around 50% (half) of the average household monthly bill! Now, if such DISCO does decide to provide you with epileptic power, as most does, aside from the #45Billion "guaranteed income" it makes yearly, l dont know if you have noticed how the TARIFF (Unit charge of electricity) has been constantly increased from #2.50K, in the last three years or so, to #12.50K per unit, the last increase being in April this year? Thus, a five-fold increase in about three years! Now, where in the world does "business" make such astronomical increase in revenue on the back of the populace, for something so important, so necessary and so unavoidable like electricity? Only in Nigeria, because these crooks want more and more money. Lastpage! |
Agrika: Big shame on those who feel nothing is wrong with what happened to this woman, even if she attacked d man first ehen! so what.....u could hv simply played the victim to the nigerian press (a simple case of stooping to conquer)....u simply hv no right to raise ur hand on a woman, another man's wife for that matter.
