Story for the gods in Olamide's voice.

If indeed God was testing her patience with this child, well she obviously scored less than zero percent.

.......but then our God is a merciful God! She can still bear her own children if she amends her ways and begs forgiveness.
Truth be told, its not easy dealing with toddlers but she went toooooo far!

She should thank her stars that this did not happen in a place like U.K or U.S......otherwise, that will be the last time she would come into contact with any child, not even if she gives birth to one of her own.

Here is a link. Satisfy yourself
https://www.nairaland.com/post/39713170

International daily limit on cards : $1000.

Type epistles of super stories and foolish analogies, I don't care
So a story told by someone on Nairalalnd is the best "authority" you can use to assert your claim?
You are foolish beyond redemption! grin grin
How are you sef?
Illiterate Gala seller, how would you know the difference?
Beer parlour indeed.

Okay, let us even assume, for discussion purposes, that the story is absolutely true.
Did you not notice that that limit applies to CARD TRANSACTION?

That is why l said "shopping money / BTA" in my earlier post.
Go back and confirm that line in the post.

Truly, ignorance is an illusion of Knowledge, or people like you!

If the person in that story wanted to pay for goods worth One Million Dollars, he does not need to use his Credit Card.
WHY? The charges are exorbitant.

A cheaper and the recommended alternative is to use a bank transfer!

I am convinced you have comprehension problems otherwise you would have seen the same thing in my post where l said all you need to do (and l have done this a number of times this year) a Bank transfer.
Get the sellers IBAN and BIC (International bank transfer codes) and instruct your bank to wire the money to them. SIMPLE.

Credit /Debit Card are meant for Shopping and over the Counter purchases but foolish people like you want to use it to by a tractor!
grin grin

Anyway, you guys can continue to wallow in ignorance and #Wail all day long, e nor concern people like me! grin grin undecided undecided

The policy will stay for as long as needed. Anyoen not happy with it and who does not want to use their Bank for payments, can go hang on a Mango tree.

@all, for your low voltage always allow us to do the conduit job for you instead of the Electrician,or we can instruct your ELectrician on what to do, adequate conduit is necessary for the distribution of cctv, satellite tv or telephone. even if you dont need any of the services now its important you have the route define!!! instead of breaking the wall or running trunking pipe at a later stage.

Thanks
I completely agree.

@Twinskenny, did you ever try to investigate "wireless transmission" of signals?

@smiley001, it's a very problematic environment! I won't forget the day their Oga came to site with his boys to make noise. Thank God for the trigger-happy mopo's I engage to separate the Red Sea.

But as a supplier, you should be able to navigate the rough water. Even the owner can't do nothing. You're their first contact from Abraham Adesanya junction to roundabout and inside the town.
I think the building owner is in a better position to deal with these miscreants calling themselves association!
If left, they will just be extorting the supplier, who will then be complaining to you

During a project l was doing, they were almost fifty asking for these and that money.

I promptly drafted four soldeirs to my sight and when my supplier is nearby, he calls me and l ask two of my Boys to lead the Trailer into the area! grin grin

At the end of the day, the Urchins came begging "Baba Twaele! we re your boys and we are hungry. Anything you give us, we will appreciate"!
I asked them to see me in three days time as l hate "intimidation" with a passion.
I ensured l clipped their wings but later gave them 10K to buy hemp so that they knwo the money is not an issue.... l just dont allow harrassment around my person.

Since then, even if l sneeze, you will see them running helter skelter like na me born them! grin grin
If l park my Vehicle, before l return, some unknown person would have washed it and l am like did l send you?
Baba, we are your boys and we are here to take care of you sir!

We are on good terms "for now", as long as they behave themselves... but you can bet, "Area boys" will always be area boys. undecided undecided

We must continue to encourage and praise our gallant soldiers, who, first, are putting their lives at risk to ensure maximum security in the country. However, I am afraid that the target date of December to eradicate these wicked terrorist group may not be achieved.

It has been reported that the annual budget for Boko Haram to perpetrate their wicked act is $10 million dollars per year. How do they lay their hands on these huge funds? Even if Boko Haram is eradicated, we may witness some offshoots of radical sects. Shekau has already predicted this in the past. The ideology, which I like to call Strategy, is the problem. To me, this is now a business which profits the wicked.

Are the wicked ones the weapon manufacturing companies, who intend to increase their wealth? Are the wicked ones the anonymous fund providers who profits from chaos?

Intelligent agencies must identify the wicked ones who profits from these acts. These are the people who should suffer for the thousands who have died.
The recent clamp down on "cash transactions" is also a strategy to suffocate their source of funds and sponsors.
To buy weapons now don dey hard them as they cant do "cash and carry" as before.

FYI or should l say ignorance, "spending limit" is not the same as "payment for goods" directly from buyer to seller.

I have paid for a vehicle bought in the US some months ago ($42,000) in one transaction.
I also paid duty on it when it got here.
So where is the limit you are talking about?

You mean NOBODY can pay for any goods above $1000?
so, if INNOSSON Motors buys "Parts", ..............he can only pay $1000?
If a farmer buys a tractor, he can only pay $1000?
or do you mean "shopping allowance" like BTA is limited to $1000? grin grin

The shop owner appealed to the Nigerian government to look into the cash and financial restrictions placed on its citizens travelling abroad, stressing that people should be allowed to carry as much money as they wish as long as they could prove ownership of the money.
“We go to Switzerland and other countries to buy goods and carry as much money as we need and the UK does not stop us as long as we can prove it is our money,” she said, pointing out that placing a blanket restriction victimises innocent people who earn their money legitimately.
Let us stop decieving ourselves!

This Govt has NOT SAID you cant spend as much as you wish.

What the Govt said is that if you want to SPEND ABOVE THE PRESCRIBE LIMIT,.... THEN YOU CANT DO IT BY CASH.... BUT BY BANK TRANSFERS!
EVEN IF IT IS TEN BILLION DOLLARS YOU WANT TO SPEND, JUST WIRE IT TO THE BENEFICIARY!

The reason for this we all know: to ENSURE TRACEABILITY.

But criminals with illegal money, Drug money, Ritual Money, Looted Funds, Kidnap money DONT WANT SUCH MONEY TRACEABLE SO THEY ARE BENT ON DOING CASH!

Even in the U.K, can you ever enter a Shop and spend 2,000GBP (Pounds Sterling) and not expect the financial crimes agents to "ask you some questions"?

I have tried to pay cash at an electronics shop some years back (just 400GBP) ans was turned down and asked to "use my Credit card" instead.
At another time, l wanted to buy a Vehicle for my wife, l wanted to withdraw the cash from my Bank (and l was drilled a lot, despite the fact that it is my money: What l wanted to do with it, why l cant just transfer it to the seller's account, e.t.c) but at the end of the day, l was hinted by a bank staff that l shoudl not draw unnecessary attention to myself by carrying large sums in cash around and that it is the preserve of criminals.

I agreed and ask the seller to furnish me with his account details (IBAN and BIC numbers) and l did the transaction flawlessly.

In every bank, and every country, there is an "Anti-Money laundering regulation" which amongst other things, "flags" all transactions over a certain limit.
Such transactions are "traced and vetted"....... and once you can explain the source of the funds, you are all good to go.

So, what is the hyper-ventilating about? huh huh

Do those people in Liverpool not have Bank accounts?
Do they not have Debit/Credit Card Readers?
Do Nigerian banks not have the ability to pay for your goods, right from here, to any part of the country?

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE NOISE ABOUT IF NOT JUST BECAUSE OF SOME CRIMINAL ACTIVITY THAT SOME WANT TO ENGAGE IN?
*Some want to use Forext bought from the CBN (at a very low rate) to import banned/proscribed goods!
*Some want t get the Forex from CBN on some false pretext while using it for another thing
*Some know they cant explain the source of that money and thus, want to remain under the radar.

Well, tough-luck!
The policy is here to stay.....and we are already seeing the positive results as Nigeria has been largely stable, despite the low receipts from crude oil sales. It has even show signs of appreciation against major currencies.

If you dont like it, please "Port to South Africa"! grin grin tongue tongue

Buhary why huh

U guys promised Nigerians CHANGE, is this the Change ? embarassed undecided
Most Nigerians, especially our YOUTHS....... have truly "lost it"!
In some countries, YOUTHS are at the Vanguard of turning their country around but our own Nigerian Youths, like this firefire, Barcanista, temitemi, ServereSnake, e.t.c...... wallow in Stewpidity and ignorance, with a beclouded sense (or lack of it) of Judgement!

Lets look at it for a minute: There is Petrol scarcity yet, those selling at the "Black Market" have the fuel to sell!
Simple reasoning and logic will imply that "There is actually no Petrol scarcity (otherwise, where would the Black Marketers get it to sell?)..
...But what we have is SIMPLE HOARDING of petrol by the Marketers!

In Nigeria, we must agree that we are saddled by EVIL, UNPATRIOTIC MEN and WOMEN who would not bath an eyelid, to ruin their country, for personal gain.
From those who "fake" everything from infant formula or vehicle parts, to those who strip our bridges of its protective, safety railings, to those who steal overhead Power Cables. The list is endless.

So, it is not surprising that some Marketers and retail outlets, for personal gains, have decided to hold Nigeria and Nigerians to ransom.
Fuel that is supposed to be sold at the pump, is hoarded, to create an artificial scarcity, increase demand due to panic-buying and thus create the perfect avenue for extortionist pricing.
The hoarded fuel is then given to "thugs and urchins", by the same marketers and retailers, to be sold on the streets as "Black market" fuel, at times diluted with other solvents, to increase their profit!

Most of these Retailers flagrantly increase the pump price of petrol and "tamper with their dispensing machine so that it under-dispense, below what is paid for, by the buyer
.

Thus, we live in an environment that is morbidly corrupt and if care is not taken, the corruption will eventually kill Nigerians.
A few people get burnt from trying to store Petrol at home, due to this sort of hoarding-related scarcity.
Some get burnt at the fuel station, when carnage ensues.
We destroy our environment when people who cant get fuel, resort to other means like the use of firewood, to get by

When we combine the effect of poor electricity supply, high temperatures, lack of fuel to power Generators and the recent lack of pipe-borne water, it is easy to observe that we are not only creating an environment for disaster and disease but for a complete breakdown of our society.

You might think it does not affect you probably because you can afford the "black market" or you have a few jerry cans of fuel stored-away but *what if your neighbours house catches fire and spreads to your own?
*What if the Bus/Taxi you entered stores fuel in the boot and catches fire?
*What if another vehicle with fuel stored in it rams your own vehicle and both catches fire?
*What if it is your loved ones that meet their untimely death as a result of the above scenario?

This is why l am surprised that some of our YOUTHS who prefer to play "ignorant tribalism", at the expense of their future, when they should be demanding that the Hoarders of fuel get arrested and prosecuted while they themselves constitute themselves into the vanguard of restoring "normalcy" to their otherwise traumatised life.

Running abroad is gradually becoming uneasy as those people are increasingly becoming very hostile to immigrants, especially the "black ones".
Even the "blacks" born there and citizens by birth, still face a lot of discrimination, harassment and intimidation.... moreso with the backdrop of influx and terrorist activities, some of which are linked to immigrants, in recent past.

This challenge does not belong to Buhari alone (He is just a figure-head, representative of the aspirations of most Nigerians) but the bulk of the work, rests on the shoulder of the citizens.

Nigeria, Biafra or whatever area of the country you affiliate with, will become too dangerous to live-in, if you guys continue on this your "part of perfidy and pattern of destruction".
I will predict that in less than 10yrs from now, the "WEST" will categorically prevent most Nigerians and peopel of Islamic extract, from accessing their country........ and rightly so!
Thus, we should think of what we want our country to look like, play our part in ensuring that it looks like that...just like westerners have been ensuring their country is the envy of foreigners

To do otherwise is to "go to sleep with one's roof on fire"

Like an adage says "Heaven would fall, is not one man's Headache".
As we lay our bed, so we will lie on it.

Let those who have ears, let them hear!

I might not be a huge fan of Tinubu but I have enormous respect for him. He's indeed a politician per excellence.

Tinubu is one politician that has braved so many bad political weathers. I could still remember his epic battles with Obj.

He single handedly saw to the survival of opposition in Nigeria when against all odds, he retained Lagos state after the PDP tsunami in the SW in 2013. He was starved of allocation due his state for over a year but still survived and performed fairly well, and then put an icing on the cake by handing over to a very competent successor.

He's overly gifted in the art and science of politics and I can confidently say NO politician in Nigerian history has made more men than himself. Awolowo indeed tutored him well.

That said, I must admit I fear for the enormity of the task on Fashola's desk but if he succeeds, I see Nigeria's President come 2023.
Omenka,

While l agree with most of what you posted up there...... and l am also a "fan" of Tinubu.
Since everyone has their good and bad sides, l hasten to remind us that despite the fact that it was Tinubu that pencilled down Fashola, l can still remember the petty envy that played out when fashola, after dazzling Lagosians with his work ethics, wanted to go for a second term and Tinubu did everything in his power to ensure that Fashola was not fielded by ACN, back then!

Tinubu actively WORKED AGAINST the nomination of Fashola for a second term

If not that Lagosians assured him that they would vote for PDP, if Fashola was denied the ticket, being the choice of the populace, Tinubu in his usual "anti-democratic" selection process, would have denied Lagosians the service of the same Fashola he is calling "my son", today.
I hope we all learn a lesson from this episode?
You cant build with the right hand,... and then try to scatter with the left hand

We all can also remember that Tinubu has personalised Lagos State, from buying-up most Lagos State Government property within Ikoyi, lekki axis and even in Abuja.

His front company, LCC, which he used in installing TWO Toll-gate (Tow Tolls within a distance less than 5Km!) the shortest distance between two tolls anywhere in the world!! ...also leaves much to be desired. Particularly by ensuring that his Hotel guest will not be affected by such Toll (strategically placing them just after his hotel) is also an act of betrayal to the people living along that axis.... who have to pay two tolls on their way to work and on their way back from work, every blessed day!

We need not mention how he made his daughter the "Iya L'oja of Lagos, his son-in law a Senator/rep of Lagos, his wife a Senator representing the same Lagos!
One would think Tinubu is the only name in Lagos meanwhile he is a late comer, though an important one, politically.

This Ambode he foisted on Lagosians, is also another K-leg!
I hope l am wrong on this one but so far, Ambode is just all over Nite Clubs like some indolent Youth while the state suffers and degenerates!

Look at Oshodi, its gradually becoming the Den of Robbers it once used to be!
Security in Lagos is suffering
Water Works have suddenly gone camatose, hardly do we have pipe borne water the way we used to, under Fashola
Its still early days anyway, we will give Ambode a few months more. His one year anniversary will be used to judge hom.

Finally, l hope "Jagaban" is fulfilled by now?
I hope he knows to "leave when the ovation is loudest"..... and sit in his palace, as a "statesman" that the younger ones can come to consult?
I hope he realize that he has taken enough from Lagos ...and should "let it lie" so that he does not "over-stay and exhaust his welcome"?

Tinubu will always be respected by we Lagosians, for his tenacity, doggedness, political astuteness and that his "Oju'yobo" style!

All hail "Jagaban, the first"! Respect,... Baba.

Eko o'nibaje o!

What stop these old men from using an indigenous online platform, to perform this irrelevant thing they're planning?! Each of them could created a monica even on NL and they interact with Nigerians with it.

It's more secure and preaches the local content message to the citizens.
This FAaebook Thingy is a threat National Security!y

Does anyone remember what happened to Senator Hillary Clinton ...and her Emails?
Does anyone remember how the Edward Snowden exposee showed how the United States collect data from faceBook, Twitter and their likes, on whoever they want? Yes, facebook agreed to hack your profile and hand over same to their own Govt!

These Senators should know that they are no longer "private individuals" and represent the interest of Nigeria.

I hope they are not these stewpid!

Most of them claim to be Doctors and Profs, .............. yet they need a "special training" to know how to use a facebook?
Something ten yr olds learnt to use by themselves!

Well I was only stating the obvious, if the. Judiciary is compromised then we are in deep mess, because that's suppose to be the last point of call for every citizen.

ThefakeStan
The Judiciary IS COMPROMISED..... and that is not just mere sentiments.

Judges have been disciplined by the Judicial Council
Remember that Judge that sat over the Aregbe case and how his phone records show how he was "negotiating how much he wants to be paid to dabaru the case? (I know it was on Sahara reporters then... and the Judge was disciplined)

Remember that criminal attorney general of the federation: Adoke or what is his name sef?
He is the most corrupt SAN that ever graced the bench!

What about that Judge in Ibori's case? grin grin
What about the Judge that told us that "16 is greater than 19"
What about the UPN Vs. NPN Judge of the 2/3 of 19 fame? grin

and many more like that whose cases are not even exposed at all because they are not "political in nature".

Most Nigerian Judges are criminals, safe for a very few of them

huh If this isn't sufficient evidence, what then is?

Seems this people want to tow GEJ's line of "...Money not even up to the price of Peugeot" thought.

The day we make it clear that there isn't any difference between big and small thief, is the day we will begin to get it most right in this battle against corruption!

a little more grilling will get the PA to spill it out. There's a connect somewhere.
Relax and use your brain! grin

If everyone was to be convicted on "hear-say", your GEJ and Allisson Madueke will be in prison by now! undecided

*That Abdullahi is not the same person as Judge Umar Danladi
*That Adullahi received money does not equate to Judge Umar receiving it
*Merely accusing the Judge of being the one who asked him to collect the money is not enough evidence! Anyone can make a "claim"
*Evidence collected using "torture", is not admissible in court
*That the accuser (that Customs man) claimed to have "lost the evidence" is not the Judges fault! grin grin grin He killed his case himself

*To prosecute a Judge, who is currently exposed to a trial that is being turned "political"..... you need solid evidence otherwise the case will not only collapse in court, you will be forced to pay Hundreds of Millions of damages for tarnishing the image/reputation of that Judge!

Once again, "relax and think about it"...... put your "feelings/emotions" aside for a minute. wink undecided

We just need to be "smart" about evidence gathering because it is only EVIDENCE that can "nail" the so-called "Big thief"!
Remember they have enough money to hire "smart Lawyers"...... not illiterates like me and you!
And the Law is all about "smart and legal arguments"

Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner. We are watching them
