You mean Abraham married his brother's wife? same as David and Solomon?
Read the OP initial comment that I quoted before you start getting out of point!
SMH!
Stop trying to be clever by HALF!

He was referring to the issue of polygamy and thus, my reference was very correct.

Incase you are all mixed-up and still insists he was talking about "marrying his brother's wife", you only need to recognise that death of a spouse, discharges the other spouse of ALL SPOUSAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ATTACHMENT.

In that regards, the lady is "no longer his brother's wife" ... but a FREE WOMAN ... and that is the context of the discussion.
Abraham, David, Solomon and many others who were closer to God and accepted by God, than all the hypocrites here, were POLYGAMOUS.

It beat my imagination the way you people quote scriptures!
Can you please produce the biblical reference for your claims?
You mean you need him to quote the Bible... for you to know that Abraham married Sarah and later Haggai? .. to know that Solomon married so many women? To know that David married more than one wife?
Are you for real or you just dont have any "feeling" for reading your own Bible?

Since when is polygamy a sin?
It seems people nowadays "think" God Himself does not know what a sin is ..or is not, anymore?

It is funny to think that "God destroyed Sodom and Gommorah of Homosexuality... which Humans and even Churches now accept as being RIGHT.... ....yet they condemn Polygamy which God was aware-of, and even befriended those who practice it... more than all the ignorant and selfish people saying Polygamy is a sin!

Selfishly-Ignorant but devilish People have really twisted God's purpose for we humans.

Freegift75:
This is a true life story

They are both devoted christians and they both live in same town.

About a year ago, we lost Taiwo in a fatal accident and left a surviving wife as widow and three kids. Six months later, as their senior brother and the breadwinner of the whole family, I summoned Kehinde to re-marry Taiwo's wife to continue playing the role of husband.

Kehinde and Taiwo's wife agreed to marry each other but Kehinde's wife kicked against the union. Kehinde only has one child and since 8yrs now nothing more.

Kehinde's wife got provoked, lashed me with demeaning words and thereby reported me to our Church senior pastor at the headquarters and I was demoted for involving in sacrilegious belief.

It's a shock today again to have received a letter from the headquarters that I'm no more needed as pastor in their ministry due to this same issue.

This is a ministry that I had spent a lot towards its growth. The land our branch was built on was bought by me alone.

Now, what is my offence?
Sir, you are a victim of what you have made yourself a SLAVE to!

Ask yourself these questions:

1) Is your decision the right one?
2.) is your conscience FREE that you had done the right thing?
3.) Is your relationship with God, based on this matter, still intact?
4.) if you have the opportunity, will you do the same thing again or do you regret it?

If your answer to the above question is YES .... then l give you a standing ovation.

Forget the issue of being removed as a Pastor! It is a "material title" given by one man, to another.
If truly you are a "Minister of God", called by God and ordained for his name, your "position is unchanged" in the sight of God.

Gather the flock of God (start with your household) and continue to preach and teach (as long as you are not doing it for financial benefit as most of you do!) the word of God to anyone that cares to listen.

We are answerable to God and the God inside us, our conscience.

Why are people like you so fixated on the "approval of men"?

BTW
: Women are known to be very selfish from the time of Adam.
If the women "swap places" and it was the Kehinde, husband of this intransigent wife that died, and she was asked to marry Taiwo, l bet she will jump at it and find it amicable. That is women for you.
If she cant tolerate the situation, she is always free to "opt out of the marriage".
The world wont come to an end.

Everything now boils down to Kehinde himself: Can he be a fair husband to both women? Can he be a fair father to all the children?

The law needs to classify selfish and deceitful acts like this including giving a man another's man child as fraud, with nothing less than 20 years without paroleundecided

I blame him sha, when our men rush home to pick ‘wives' because they believe we are not traditional enough. This is what most of them getcheesy
I agree with you that the law needs to develop robust measures to deal with this sort of "Sham Marriages" based on deceit!

If you bring someone abroad on the basis of marriage, then the "residency should be conditional" on that marriage subsisting ... for like ten years.
After-all, the residency was given out based on being the spouse of a citizen.

"Use and dump" must end!

Having said that, the highlighted part of your post got me ROFL! grin grin

Basically, it is the "Akata" that made men to avoid them like a plague.
Why would a man avoid "same but cheaper product" he can see with his naked eyes, ...and go buy a "costlier" product "over the internet"?

But recent events in the last five years or so, have shown that even the ones in Nigeria have grown so wild (like our moral values in Nigeria of recent) that "the Akata-Devi" you know, is far better than the "Naija Angel", you dont know.

Younger men l know are going for non-Nigerian women in diaspora.... and that is a real shame!

I predict that in no distant future, Marriage would become extinct.... people will just have children by test-tube, surrogacy or adoption.

The President was asked a direct question about Amaechi's problems in the Senate, especially his screening and approval. Buhari answered that, "... those that are having problem in the National Assembly, I doubt, doubt if I have met him in my life".

FlirtyKaren:
Nigerian ‘Prophet’ T.B. Joshua has released another controversial YouTube clip, claiming he predicted the tragic Russian plane crash in Egypt well over one year ago.

On Sunday 31st August 2014, the cleric, who is famed for his alleged ability to foretell the future, warned of an impending plane crash involving Russia.

"It will not be between Ukraine and Russia this time but a close region, a neighbouring
region," he stated, warning passenger planes to be careful of the routes they take over such volatile areas. I am seeing a full load of passengers crash again," he declared.

On Saturday 31st October 2015, a Russian jet tragically crashed while flying across the Sinai peninsula in Egypt en-route to St Petersburg, killing all 224 on board.

"We pray for all those involved in this tragic incident, that God would comfort and strengthen them in this difficult time," the clip on the YouTube channel ‘Emmanuel TV’ concluded.

Watch the video below and let's know what you think about that.

Family › Re: Dear Parents, in whose care have you left your child? Pics! by lastpage: 7:20pm On Oct 31, 2015
sihom:
Hey, that was harsh and severely unfair to my gender.

Present day Naija makes it extremely hard for only one spouse or parent to handle all the expenses and bills that come with raising a family so women have to go out to work.

You just reminded of an argument I once had with my brother in law. When I was at University some cultists were expelled from my school one of them was a family friend (Tony)

My brother in law kept blaming Tony's parents insisting that Tony ended up the way he did because his parents didn't train/raise him well. Meanwhile he never lived with this family for one day to know this and had no basis for his assertions.

I asked my BIL if Tony's parents were supposed to leave their place of work, put their lives on hold and camp with us in school (on campus) just to monitor & supervise Tony.

My point - Parents do their best for their children but they can't be every where all the time or be with their children all the time. Only the Blessed Trinity can do that.

We live in an evil world sometimes misfortunes befall us and children suffer in the process and they suffer not necessarily because parents are negligent but because there are folks with twisted & evil minds.

I know parents do their best because I have nephews & nieces and I am like a LIONESS when it comes to them cos they are my blood, so imagine what lengths I would go to if I carry a foetus in my womb for nine months and successfully birth it.

Lioness will not even be a fit & proper description for me regarding the scenario above (if I have a child) Please cut parents some slack especially we women.

If we don't work to support you, you call us lazy with a sense of entitlement. We work to support you and we are called arrogant, idiotic, career women. Haba
Most of the things you wrote are correct but as a parent of grown-up children ...... who by the grace of God are turning out to be a blessing to me and my wifey,... l want to posit that "Proper training does not start at the level Tony was (Under-Graduate!)!
As a matter of fact, your "character and values/morals" are 90% formed by the age of 16yrs.

The time to start training your children "properly" is from a very early age where you impact VALUES, MORALS AND THE LOVE OF GOD ( note: l did not say "FEAR"wink into their hearts.
Follow-up by leading an exemplary life in their presence as well because children "copy" more, that "listen" more.... to their parents!
You just have to practice what you preach if you want them to take is as their character.

Even the Bible said "Train your child, and he will give you rest...in your old age"!

What l have seen is that most parents neglect the most important "formative years" of their children.... only to come back later when they have made all the money they want, to try to "buy character, values and morals".... with money, for their children.
It just doesn't work.

Once the "foundation is good", all you need is just "maintenance", to keep the building looking good for a long time.

But if the foundation is bad, ..its a lost cause because you can only take a Camel to the river, you cant force it to drink!
An adult child does not really listen that much.
(Relate this to a child and you will know what l mean).

I also think Fathers have the "majority of the work/role to play" and wish some mothers will understand that they can halve their trouble/effort, ...if they allow their husband to do the "extra work" but what with the level of "Single Mothers" nowadays, that seems impossible!

If were both parents are together, its still a 'struggle' , not to mention where the child has no father-figure.

It is also important that a child has someone he looks up to, better his/her parent.

God help our children.
