Fashola's first 3 years in office trumps Ambode's first 3 years in office many times over and Lagos was not dirty of full of garbage everywhere at anytime during Fashola's administration. Gbam! Bobby4090: Good write up. But just one side of the story. I also learned that since he left as Governor, Fashola never visited Tinubu at least to say thank you for fishing him out from obscurity and making him who he is today. My brother, anybody I make my chief staff for 8 years and make Governor for 8 years and for one day you cannot even come and say thanks or pay homage... I will hate you forever if I can.
We all are human beings, thank a man for the one he has done and he will do more. Even God doesnt share his glory not to talk of feeble human beings like us. Fashola felt that running to a federal power in Buhari will salvage the situation but it cannot. Why is it out of the many political sons of Tinubu he should be the one having this problem. He Fashola a proud and pompous man.even most of his projects as Governor were elitist.
That not withstanding, I think there should be peace between him Fashola and Tinubu/Ambode. It's a fight taken too far if actually he was purposely snubbed in Lagos. Two wrongs don't make a right. One was this can be done by Ambode naming an important road in Lagos after Fashola and inviting him to commission it and let by gone be by gone. Guy, stop saying what you do not know. So all the visits that Fashola paid to Tinubu's house while he (i.e. Fashola) was still governor, were not enough? How many additional visits does he expect? Doesn't Tinubu know Fashola's phone number? Why can't he pick up the phone and ask Fashola to visit him? Or did Tinubu ask Fashola to visit him, and Fashola declined? Tinubu's need for adulation and aggrandisement, long after he has left office, is pathetic. Is it that he does not get enough visits from his acolytes, sycophants and supporters, which is why he still needs Fashola to visit him? Fashola is not proud. He is pragmatic and realistic. He foresaw what Ambode would do to Lagos with his toxic taxes, and decided to keep his distance....can't blame BRF. |

radiokilla: I won't support evil. The Nigerian govt is as fault. We have made governance look like rocket science. I love what Bill Gates told Buhari about Nigeria, yet they won't listen but continue to run one of the most expensive government on earth.
Please allow me to rant here. This may be the only rant for this year.
Even a millionaire knows how hard it is in this country, then imagine what the fresh graduate seeking for a job is passing through, or the market woman who have had her little kiosk demolished by her state governor.
It is time we fix this country, let's ignore the drawing board. This country is damn too large to rule from the top. The idea of sharing allocations from Abuja to the 36 states is a white Elephant project. Why not the Individual states generate their funds and remit excesses to the central government?
Why not state governments generate their power supply? Why does a state like Kano despite the ban on alcohol still benefit from the taxes generated from the liquor industry?
What has cows done for us in Nigeria? So many thoughts on my mind but I think we have to change our mentality, we need mental restructuring. Nobody has stopped state governments, from generating their power supply. Various amendments were made to the existing rules on electricity generation under the last PDP govt, which now allows states, corporate organisations etc to generate their own power, and even sell the excess. Lagos state took advantage of this review under Fashola, to generate 47.5 Megawatts (MW) through five Independent Power Plants (IPP) in six years. Mr Taofiq Tijani, the former state Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources said this at a news briefing at Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Lagos. Tijani said that the first IPP tagged: Akute Power Plant, with total capacity of 12.16MW, was built and inaugurated in 2010, while the Island Power Project with 10MW capacity was inaugurated in 2011.
According to him, the Alausa Power Plant, with capacity of 10.4MW, was inaugurated in 2013 while the Mainland Power Project, with total capacity of 8.8MW, was inaugurated in 2014.
“Early this year, we (government) inaugurated Lekki Peninsular IPP, which also has total capacity of 8.5 MW.
“All together, we are generating 47.5 MW of electricity in Lagos,” he said. http://dailypost.ng/2015/04/21/lagos-government-generated-47-5mw-through-ipp-in-six-years-official/ |
Education › Re: Woman Recounts How She Almost Lost Her Two Kids From School's Negligence by LaudableXX: 3:36pm On Mar 29, 2018 |
Akpongt: Just for the records:
Crane School has no intention to join issues with the persons behind the post: (Woman Recounts How She Almost Lost Her Two Kids From School's Negligence. On 26th March, 2018) on social media. However, it is imperative to put right or put in proper perspective various misleading information posted by the writer.
Firstly, there has never been any physical contact between the school's lawyer and the lawyer to the children's parents, only correspondences on paper. The school's lawyer has never stated, expressly nor by implication, that the other lawyer should "Do his worst" as declared by the writer of the above post.
Secondly, as at the time the children's parents arrived to take them, they had eaten, just like other children; they were healthy and strong, taking part in the various scheduled activities. Neither of the children had fainted nor was resuscitated from a coma. We are indeed marvel at these claims!
Be that as it may, we have explained the true picture of events surrounding the incident to the children's parents, as well as, apologise directly to them, severally in order to placate any harsh feelings they might have about the incident.
We have no misgivings about saying again, that we are truly sorry and regret any kind of inconvenience that the incident may have caused them.
This attempt by the writer of the post to rubbish the good image of Crane School, using social media is quite unfortunate.
At Crane Schools, the safety, wellbeing and development of our pupils/students is dear to us.
Principal. You still have not dealt with the main issue: Why was a 2 year old child and a 3 year old boy locked up in a school bus/vehicle, unattended, unsupervised and unwatched? Isn't this a classic case of negligence? How could the teachers who accompanied the kids on that excursion trip, have been so derelict in their duties? |

Litmus: Eh, mister ghanafantasic, if you read only few of the posts it would've been clear that many such gas vehicles conversions already pligh Nigerian roads - none presumably converted by the said Austrian firm. If an individual's intention is to publicise something, they're hardly going to state, for example: Come and buy my Not the best or first Mountain water in a bottle (Ghana sells many and South Africa too) Oga, don't mind him jare, there are vehicles in Nigeria that run on CNG, especially in Edo State. There are several others, that also have been converted to run on LPG, within Lagos and Kano. The awareness is low in Naija, but there are efforts to increase conversion of vehicles and sale of autogas. During the bad petrol scarcity last year, I had a friend who was always on the road, and never queued for fuel. His car could run on LPG, as it had already undergone a conversion process. So he was just filling his car with LPG at the nearest Oando station, and driving off to any destination he chose. |

mikeapollo: My friend, it is true that most taxis in Ghana use gas, liquefied natural gas that is used for cooking. They buy the gas from LNG filling stations just like users of gas cooking cylinders do. The gas cylinder is worked/fixed unto the taxis by Ghanaian auto-technicians(mechanics) and they have been doing this for about 15 years now.
It is strange how we celebrate mediocrity in Nigeria What road-side auto-technicians in Ghana have been doing successfully for 15years is what Austrian firms are coming to help Nigerians do now. And we foolishly claim to know everything more than other people! Mtcheeew! How many LNG stations or LNG gas plants do we have in Nigeria, that sell liquefied natural gas directly to end users?? |
