Wonders no go ever end!! For confession Wednesday ontop #marketrunz, Woman wey get HIV call say she dey put her blood inside the zobo wey she dey sell... Wetin we wan call dis kind thing so? |
In 2008 I got a message from the school gate of Bowen University that somebody is looking for me. When I got to the gate it was a guy from Oshogbo, he wanted to see a female student who is a bit close to me. It was the female student that told him to ask for me whenever he comes looking for her He told me he came to see so and so. I picked my phone and called the lady. She showed up a few minutes later and asked that I wait around while she attends to her guest He was a banker and she was a 200 level student. She used to be a sort of Runs Girl but she had given her life to Christ and was desperately trying to change her life The conversation was short, she left immediately afterwards. Then this banker turned to me and said “I was told you have some influence on campus and there are many rich kids here. If you don’t mind I work for so and so bank and we are selling out shares at the moment. I don’t know if you can sell some for me, I will pay you 25% of whatever you sell I said “Okay” He went to his car and brought me some of the shares documents and explained to me how they will be filled etc Then he left I never expected to sell any I took the forms to Brother’s hall for Sunday School preview a few minutes later A lady saw them and indicated her interest to buy That was how the forms started selling, In all I sold shares worth about 1.3 million Naira The man sent me a bank account To pay the 75% into. I did and kept the teller The 25% remaining I used to settle part of my school fees. I was feeling so blessed that got the first time God settled my school fees without a struggle unlike the previous three years when I had to pray and fast and cry before God settled the fees at the last minute I wrote my exams and graduated. When I got home, my mother told me she got a call from the Student Affairs office. They requested that I should report to their office immediately. When I got there I found a petition written by some students about the shares they bought. They had not received their shares certificates and I was graduating One of them went to the bank and discovered that the shares were not bought The man that gave me the forms had cashed out and left the country. I was in red hot stew. I was told to write a statement. I did The school authority launched an investigation trying to establish a pattern of fraud etc They couldn’t because there was none I still had the teller of the payment I made but I had deducted my 25% from it and that looked very suspicious I was naive back then! Before I faced the SDC, I tried reaching out to the people involved so that I can reach an agreement with them to pay them the money if they would withdraw the case. Some were for it but two Christian brothers with whom I shared a room for two straight years were against it One of them was the material witness against me He bought shares worth 64,000 Naira and I had duped him It was a terrible time in my life I fasted and prayed and cried and pleaded for divine intervention I would most certainly lose my degree certificate At the time, I felt my life take me to the station Wow! My spine had turned to water. God seemed to have hidden his face Just as I was about to be led to the truck, one of the panelists said “This guy is my Sunday school teacher for four years on campus, he is brilliant, he is a prayerful student, a great example to other students He made a mistake here. There was no other report of any allegation or wrong doing against him apart from this one If he was a fraudster our investigations would have revealed a pattern and we did a very thorough investigation We even interviewed his lecturers and roommates He made a mistake He made an error in judgement We shouldn’t ruin his life Please take him out of the cuffs and let him go We can settle this without destroying his future The lady that spoke was the Vice Chancellor’s wife Her voice has weight The others said “Okay ma'' They removed the cuffs and let me go The woman said “Sowemimo, come and see me later. We have other cases to attend to after now” Wow. I walked out of that hall with shaky legs I was so scared that my body was still shaking hours after the event It felt like I was rescued from the jaws of the bear The school authority wrote to me later asking me to refund the 25% to the students It took me some time but I paid each one of them back in 100 fold I finished paying the debt last year I was not given my certificate because of this case.....I couldnt I couldn’t aspire to the kind of jobs I had desired to have I was afraid that if anyone dug into my past they would see that blot I refused to start the ministry God committed into my hands because of it I was scared I’d be called a fraud, shamed and hung out to dry. Until I finished paying that debt, I wouldn’t allow anyone to put my face on a poster for any ministration. I even changed my name partly because of it When I finished paying the debt, I wrote about it for the first time even though I had repaid them It was a crippling baggage at the time Because of it I never engage and I will never engage in any business with anyone I hold physical services without collecting offerings I seriously wanted to be rid of the stigma and live my life but it won’t go One day the Lord said to me in a vision, “Cast it on me, from this day, I relieve you of it. Condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgement. I have given you the right to live in liberty in my name” That was how I was set free That’s why your opinions won’t matter! If you praise me, doh If you troll me, doh I have an audience of one I will do as He says and let all men be a liar As a minister of the gospel this is how you must live your life too Independent of circumstances, immovable, unshakable, live your life to please the Lord, not the The handwriting of requirements of wrong had been blotted on your behalf If you made mistakes please forgive yourself and let go And if any raise a voice against you, condemn them! I love you -GSW- |

I was set up by my Boss... In my career, I've had two difficult bosses.. While I was working offshore as a Team Leader in the mid-2000s, I had a Superintendent with whom we didn't agree. He didn't like me, he had his boys and he treated the other team members poorly. I tried to mend it, but he was a workplace bully who enjoyed shouting, so, I reclined and went into my shell. He was bent on ranking me low, so, he needed to push the narrative. An incident happened in the field while I was off duty. An operator on night duty slept off with the Flowstation on bypass and by morning, we had produced crude oil into the atmosphere. It was very bad. Everywhere was charged with the fumes from the crude oil, and we could not shut down because we needed to meet production target. I was called from home by my boss to go to the field to audit what happened. I got in, saw what happened, and proffered a solution. He insisted I should stay back to fix it. I stayed back, put measures in place to arrest the situation and pumped back the crude oil from the bund wall into the process, and remediated the contaminated areas. Instead of getting a thank you, my boss blamed me for the incident and put it on me. Some people will lie against you, believe the lies, and use them against you. They're that mean, biased and manipulative. Overcoming workplace adversity is a skill that prepares you for the challenges ahead. I was shocked and disappointed. Unfortunately, I wasn't there when he spoke with his bosses and told them it was due to my fault, and that incident affected my appraisal that year. I felt cheated, I was angry and I had an emotional outburst. I remembered all I had endured from him and went off on him. If it happened now, I would have handled it differently. I would do the following: 1. I will assert myself. Instead of reclining, I will respectfully speak up. 2. I will manage up and ensure my boss's colleagues and boss are aware of my performance and the situation I was passing through. 3. I got emotional. I should have kept my emotions under check, stayed professional, and kept delivering on my job. 4. I should have asked for a transfer to another location. 5. I should have made others aware of what I was going through. 6. When he wanted to blame me for what I didn't do, I should have notified the manager and asked for an independent audit or investigation instead of keeping quiet. Anyway, the incident made me stronger. I overcame all that he threw at me, got my career back on track, and enjoyed accelerated promotions with my next boss, who was objective, visionary and transparent. In the course of your career, you'll face a difficult boss at least once. Always remember to keep delivering on your job, stay professional and never get emotional. |

Your bubble don burst and you decided to close the job. NLers, any job that doesn't state Job description (JD) you are in for a slavery job. |
Yes, the last one wanted to play a smart one by not paying me. My lawyers handled it, in less than 48 hours after my last day if work alert enter |
Patson080:have you heard for crypto? |
Kwenty:I didn't run you down ,I only stated the obvious. Next time when you post a job stated the benefits and the salary. If you are angry about that you will be angry, get over it and put the salary on every job advert you put out |
Kwenty:God will show Mercy on you, your advertised job is modern slavery you eat experience hands yet you are paying peanuts. Leekway be guided |
Kwenty:I stated the obvious hence the reason you are angry. You want an experience driver for 40k and experience accountant for less than 100k. If it's not what I stated, Ekeoma kindly state the salary. NLers, be wary of this lady and her clients or companies |
Who is your friend ? Most times, we surround ourselves with our enemies in the name of friendship. We have 'friends' who are in constant competition with us, they constantly monitor and calibrate with us, some do not wish us well, others are outrightly wishing us bad, and some others can even go the extra mile to hurt us. Let me tell you a short story.. A friend was working with an oil company, and he had a friend working in a bank. They were very close, grew up together and graduated from the same University. The one working in a bank first got employed after NYSC and the other was genuinely happy for him. When the other later got a job with a multinational corporation, the friend working in a bank wasn't happy for him. He noticed but they kept being friends. Years later, there was divestment in the oil and gas sector which led to a series of downsizing and layoffs. The guy working in the oil company survived all the layoffs and was doing well in his career. There was one weekend he hung out with his banker friend and they got talking. The banker asked if the layoff affected him, he say NO. That was when the banker friend asked him who was his jazzman, that how come he's been surviving all the layoffs. Or whether does he have a godfather? The other guy answered that God is his Godfather. When he got home, he thought about the discussion and how this guy also wasn't happy with him when he got employed. There and then, he knew the guy wasn't his friend but a frenemy, he deleted his number, blocked him on WhatsApp, Facebook and everywhere. That was when he realized he had an enemy who was monitoring and wishing him bad all along and he kept updating him about his life, thereby, exposing himself. This is very common to most of us. We don't know how to differentiate our friends from acquaintances, church members, colleagues, neighbors, etc and we end up unknowingly exposing ourselves. We call everyone our friends and share personal stuff with them. Do not hang onto people because you've known them for long. We keep hanging out with 'friends' from Primary School, Secondary School or University because of how long we've known them. It is better to have one solid friend who genuinely love and support us than to have a multitude of frenemies who are wishing us bad inwardly and hoping for something negative to happen to us. Friendship is not about who you've known the longest, it is about who came and never left your side - Yolanda Hadid. Good friends will improve your quality of life and they're good for our mental health. Once you have a friend who taunts you, embarrasses you, brings you down, doesn't wish you well, gives out negative vibes, etc., do away with them for your own good ! Friendship is an opportunity to love, support one another, grow together, and to mature as human beings while enjoying life's experiences. Be wise !!
