But in any case, I think this rule is dangerous; it can be manipulated by an INEC high official who want wants a particular outcome.

Question though...was that also Governorship election? Because Governorship and Presidential elections are different and the rule used to declare a winner are enshrined in the constitution and none of those rules backed what INEC did here.

What INEC did is wrong and not democratic. They can subvert democratic institutions if it is allowed.

I have read their rule about declaring results inconclusive based on votes cancelled versus vote differences. But, if you look at that rule, which is not part of the INEC, it means INEC can manipulate the results they don’t want.

If their favorite candidate is losing, all they just need to do is, cancel enough votes until it is above the vote difference, now their guy have a second chance at the Apple again.

INEC is putting themselves as both the Judge and the Prosecutor here....normally, when you cancel votes, those voters have the right to appeal the INEC decision and a Judge will adjudicate on the issue.

At least she is honest and frank about it....

First, even if these ladies paid all their flight tickets and accommodations, she will still be found guilty if she put them to sex trafficking work, even if that arrangement is mutually beneficial. Even if the madam was so kind hearted and the ladies got their visa themselves, paid for their flight ticket and rented their own place with their own money and the madam’s only involvement was to help them find ‘market or customer’, and she will not take ten kobo from the proceeds, she will still be found guilty and punished accordingly.

Secondly, if there is a law against something; it does not matter if the individual recognized by the law as a ‘victim’ invited and forced the other individual to participate, they will still be found guilty. The fact that, the victim was an active or co-participant does not matter.

Lastly, many white people have had their sentences increased on appeal in UK, use google, it is your friend and it will enlighten you with specifics, names and contacts of white people who had gotten the same treatment on appeal.

There are no laws that forces anyone to live by certain rules.

Each rules and regulations worth the paper they are written on, have penalties and consequences for violating them.

Some people, for obvious reasons or reasons best known to them, accepts those penalties and consequences and go ahead and violates the rules.

That is why, when you look at the criminal code of any country....the write....”You may not steal or may not do that....if you look closely, they did not say....you must not....so, they are preserving in the law our ability and freedom of choice, the law does not force you from exhibiting your freedom of choice, but if you do do it either knowingly or unknowingly to contravene any of the laws, the penalties follows.

So, the penalty for his action here is to forfeit three months salaries and if that happens, then he is obeying the NYSC rules and conducting his affairs according to those rules. Technically, he will only be violating those rules, if he didn’t give up his three months salaries.

Looking at this ‘evidence’ I can’t figure the crime they have committed.

Holding him hostage involve lots of resources like holding cell, guarding him, hiding from the huge manhunt that will follow, plus he wouldn’t be able to physical authorize funds, plus the benefits is just one time withdrawal, plus he can go to the police once released.

On the other hand, blackmailing him requires limited resources, he has an incentives not to go public or to the police because of the nude videos, the cash flow is endless, they can even be on his pay roll for life as both parties have mutual benefits in keeping the other happy.

Also, blackmailing is another tool of choice in their toolbox....thieves uses all the tools in the box at will or depending on circumstances...there are thieves that go for ATM cards and not cash, sone go for the cash, some snatch cars, done kingnap others blackmail, etc....in all of these, the end goal is the same.
