Splashme:Don’t give all these sensational ‘news’ from bloggers or people using ‘may’ in their their title any attention. They may as well say...”PMB may deflect to PDP on Monday” Go read the constitution, the Senate President does not have the power to declare any seat vacant without a court order. The various sections of the constitution that mentioned the entry and exit of a Senator clearly stated the process. He does not have the constitutional or statutory powers to revoke, annul or withdraw the certificate of returns issued by INEC to any Senator. Only tribunal or a court have such powers; plus the Senator’s constituents can, via a recall process. In the case of deflection due to factionalized party, like everything, it has not be done via 2/3rd majority vote. I don’t know why Nigerians are this illiterate and gullible...courts have recently ruled that, the Senate does not even have the powers to suspend a colleague beyond few days and you guys think a single Senator have the power to remove another Senator duly elected by his constituents? |
many are called, but only one is chosen....bros stay in your lane. O boy! Na wah for you oh...you know everything about her boyfriend, his favorite color, food, music,etc.....you bi monitor spirit? Watch it sha, make jealousy no make you poison the guy food or do something stupid. My advise though, call the lady and let her know how you feel about her and that, you have been maintaining yourself out of rest for her and her boyfriend and that despite all, you still love her. Take a walk and give them their space. You have just planted something in her; it could be a seed that will grow and draw her to you or a temptation that will cast you in her heart as a alternative each time she have a beef with her bf. |
OP change the topic heading from ‘bye-election’ to ‘by-election’. |
OP, is it ‘bye-election’ or ‘by-election’? |
Jay5mie:China replica my friend. |
writefreely:He is expressing his personal opinions, personal opinions are not facts, they are that person’s opinions and are protected speech. PMB said Nigeria Youths are lazy, is that true? We know it’s not, but that is his opinion. If you listen to music, many of them express their opinions about Nigeria or the government, which are not completely true, but they are still on the airwaves today. |
officialdayo:It’s not true that AI is smarter than humans; if you have done any AI programming, design or development you will realize this basic fact. All the logics even in self-learning AI are thought out, developed, designed and put there by humans, so since an AI product can’t produce itself from first principles, it cannot be smarter than it’s producer right creator. The reason AI ‘seems’ smarter than human is because of the huge computing CPU behind them, which made them faster than human. It is this fastness we often confuse as been smarter. If you give a human of equal pedigree an infinite amount of time for a given task; they will come to the same conclusion as an AI...We only need AIs because, we don’t have infinite amount of time, not because they are inherently smarter. |
nenergy:Beyond preserving traditional & cultural norms; where insult to an older individual is looked down on....insults are forms of protected speech. Using an agent of the state to avenge or retaliate is an abuse of power & office, the Bank Manager and security should be promptly dismissed and handed to the Police for prosecution. |
Skyfornia:Your number undoing is assuming that, Nigeria is a great country. Great countries don’t elect or allow below average people and gross underperformers to represent them, year in and year out. |
Effico5real:It is A1c and not alc. When you do this test, you get a number from 4 to 14, which is a score of how diabetic you are....6 is the borderline number, so anything below is considered good, but lower is better....anything above 6 is not good and the higher the worse. This test take into account the level of sugar in your in blood for the previous 3 months. The good news is, if known on time these conditions can be managed. |
Fkforyou:The truth is there is nothing sudden about sudden death, apart from those caused by forced trauma. Most of these ‘sudden’ death are related to preventable heart diseases or diabetic conditions that have been there for months, if not years and a simple Doctor’s with physical and blood work done can detect, then prevent them. Some simple tests prevent this that your doctor can run is... 1. A1c test to see how you are on the diabetes chart. 2. Cholesterol check. 3. EKG test. 4. Calcium scoring test is a good one as well. These four test ran at least yearly, including HBP test and with proper follow up of the result by the doctor can be the difference between life n death. It does not matter if you look healthy or going to the gym regularly or in active sport....in fact, depending on the results from the test about, your doctor may even advice you to quit gym or active sport completely, this way to shield the heart from additional stress conditions that will make it give up suddenly. |
naijaguy123456:You right! what does Daura get to gain by openly and Nationally confronting his Boss, his own Cousin, the President who is the most powerful man in Nigeria...and siding with Saraki a far away Yoruba politician? If you say Daura was Saraki’s mole; then we can debate that point, though it is far fetched.....but for him to use the office he was given by his own cousin, the President to openly disgrace him and side with Saraki, is a stretch. BTW: Moles and Spy by definition and operation use covet means to achieve their objectives and not open confrontations, especially when the one you are fighting against is your own benefactor, cousin and President and the person you are supporting can’t even lift a finger to rescue you, when the chips are down. |
PaChukwudi44:The jury is still out on that, whether it is 2/3rd of all elected members or 2/3rd of seating members. The constitution simply said 2/3rd of members of the house and does not say members currently seating in the house present or elected members of the house. We all know that, not all members attend meetings all the time, so the jury is still out on this. The bottom line is; APC had the opportunity to challenge this in court when Saraki was elected unanimously by 57 votes, which fall short of the 75 needed to meet the 2/3rd watermark;but they chicken, not only backed down on their threat to go to court, but accepted Saraki as their President. They should not be now crying fowl, if Saraki is holding the 2/3rd watermark over their head. It simply means Saraki is smarter than them and is running circles around them from both sides of the law and constitution. If they are apt and want to be taken seriously; they should play Saraki’s game.... pay him back with the same coin by using the 1/3 quorum watermark that Saraki exploited to be elected to also impeach him...that is, they should work across the aisle as Saraki did, get at least 55 Senators to form a quorum and have all vote unanimously to impeach Saraki, then let Saraki go to court to argue 2/3rd of elected members. |
Iblad0994:He was elected by a unanimous vote by all Senators present, after forming a quorum. So, it was more than 2/3rd majority. So he was elected legally and as per the Senate rules. Technically, you don’t need 2/3rd of all members to impeach him....all you need is 2/3rd of members present after forming a quorum. |
Coming back to treat the OP’s fvck up. |
As a rule, I usually scroll to the bottom to see if there is a ‘click here’ link or to see how long... If there is ‘click here’ or too long I skip them, just like this....no time to waste on rubbish that belongs in the dustbin. |
AZeD1:Read 1 Tim 3:1-..... What you stated above about not divorcing is, the same thing I stated about God ignoring the time of ignorance. The Bible warned believer about not marrying an unbeliever, but if you are already married to an unbeliever, you cannot divorce them...but you can’t be a Bishop as per not been a good example, read 1 Tim 3. |
jayfolarin:It was not the DSS that lay siege at Saraki and Ekweremadu’s residence, it was the Police...going by your assumption, the IGP must also be working for Saraki. The administration just used Daura here as the fall man, he will handsomely be rewarded in retirement. |
2special:You clearly don’t understand the Bible you preaches...what you have just said is addressed by the Bible under... “...in the times of ignorance the Lord overlooked, but now commanded everyone to be born again...” Bible commanded that, the spouse of Bishops to be must be born again and gave the qualities of a Bishop and even went ahead to state that, if a Bishop find themselves wanting of any of these qualities, that they should resign and go fix the issue. No one is preventing her from running her race, she can a practicing Christian and believer and can still be nightly used by God; but once you want to ordain her as a leader and Bishop, references have to be made to the Bible, which has clearly lay out the qualities such a person must possess. |
modelmike7:It takes 55 simple majority votes in the upper chambers to sack Saraki....30 die hard APC Senators in 5 coaster buses can’t even form a quorum to hold any meeting, talkless of harming an ant. They are just going to their chairman’s house for party meeting. If they truly want to sack Saraki, they should learn how the game is played and start winning PDP Senators to their side to help them vote, period! |
Charms ‘works’ until you are caught or killed....makes one wonder, if the charm ever worked or it was just hard luck and boldness from the ‘trust’ in the charm....that had been sustaining them until caught or killed. If charms are that efficient, why do they always fail at the time you need them the most? |
uridadole:Not True! 2018 budget has been fully approved and currently in effect. You might be referring to Buhari’s recent request to the National Assembly to modify the 2018 budge, so that fundings for the 2019 Elections can partly come from 2018 budget and part from 2019 budget. The above modifications is because Buhari astronically increased 2019 election spendings beyond the budgeted amount and after the facts and even doubled what previously administrations have used for the same event and coming back to NASS to accommodate his new spending bill increase....beyond this, there is enough money even above the one spent by previous administrations to conduct 2019 Election. |
. |
They should save their strength, 30 determined APC Senators cannot impeach a ham sandwich talk more of the Senate President. They can’t even hold a NASS meeting, at the bare minimum, according to the constitution; it takes a majority of elected Senators seating in other to form a quorum and by my calculation that is 55 Senators, so 30 will not cut it. Even if you account for the two vacant seats, that is still 54. If APC want to impeach Saraki, they should go about it as the rules of the Senate and the Constitution of Nigeria. At the moment, they don’t have the numbers to do that, they should instead expend their energies in convincing other Senators to back their plans and Yes, they have to get some PDP Senators as well. They should follow the Saraki playbook, before he became Senator President; you got the support of the majority of the Senators and across party-line; you might say he got it by hook/crook...the underlying point here is, Saraki cannot be impeached just by APC Senators’ vote, you need PDP votes. If APC see the above as daunting and impossible just like am seeing it; they should conserve their energy, allow Saraki to rule and consecrate on winning majority hardcore loyal Senators in the next election before trying to boot him. |
miracood:Nigeria herself is an uncompleted project, we must return to the drawing table. |
Babyforever:Not any more NYSC allowee is N49,800/month. Any wise corper should be able to save enough to start a lucrative business venture, after the one year of service. |
APC should shut up! The last time I checked, most things in the Senate including electing office holders is based on majority votes; so instead of begging Saraki to resign, if APC thinks they have the majority and thinks all APC Senators will vote with them, they should move a motion to remove him when Senate reconvene and let’s count the votes. I think, not all current APC Senators will vote to remove Saraki and majority will vote against such a motion, hence APC is trying the back door approach to get him out. |
LaudableXX:Yes, I wanted to support your opinions, I couldn’t find the original post as it was lost in the maize... |
LaudableXX:Custody and Support are two different issues and in most States decided differently. In New York, two different judges decide these cases and on separate dates...one does not have bearing on the other except that, the percentage of parenting factors into the support the non custodian parent will pay. If one parent have all the money and the other parent have zero money; the one that have all the money have zero advantage in winning custody...the court believes that, they can order the redistribution all the money, which ever direction they want after determining who is the better parent and as such, the Judge deciding custody does not look into who is paying what and who is not paying. In fact, in some cases inability to pay can be an advantage as that parent will have more time to take care of the child as in been the ‘home care taker’ and the one with all the money, will be the perfect ‘breadwinner’ who because of his/her time consuming breadwinning endeavors will not have that much time for the child compare to the ‘home care taker’. |
helpee:No one is blackmailing him to accept the child against his will....more so he was the one that asked for opinions, my guess is; if this is a foregone conclusion, he will not be here asking for opinion. As for the grandmother, it is not her responsibility to take care of the child. The parents of a child owns that responsibility and obligation. In a normal separated couples, the little girl will be shared between the mother and the father in turns...no one knows how far, she has been staying with the Dad, but it is now the mother’s turn to do the needful. If this guy love his wife as he professes, he will accommodate his own step-daughter, who shares the same dna with his kid under his roof. |

My remarks were a response to another poster who claimed that, the person paying the school fees is showing how capable he is. He kept arguing in previous posts, that custody of a 7 year old child, would be given to the father, and I disagreed with that. This is what he said :
