OP, something is not right here....in this day and age of CBN's policy of 'know your customers', it is nearly impossible for a bank transaction to occur when the other party is 'unknown'. I have done many online banking transfers within Nigeria and many physical deposits, in each case the identity of the person making the transaction is known. Ordinary, I will call you bluff and say you are lying your ass off. If on a slim chance, you are telling the truth...then it could be as a result of bank error or someone that knows the in-and out of the bank trying to shuffle money fraudulently around and they are using your account as a pass through in order to cover their tracks or confuse whoever will want to trace the money in the future should they be busted. It is really difficult to give you a sound advice here....if you leave the money there for weeks or months...and the person eventually show up, you would have paid some VAT and Commission and when they withdraw their N800K, you will be left holding the bags. If you remove the money and spend it, you might be prosecuted for theft, unless the money have been there for a considerable amount of time that is can be considered abandoned.....If you try to withdraw and transfer it to another bank account or to invest it, you never know if it is a trap and you might be lead out of the banking hall in handcuffs....if you report it to the bank manager, he might cash in on it and siphon the money out....... If I were you, I will open a savings account (if I do not already have one) with the bank and transfer the money into that saving account and leave it there to collect interest over at least one year. Even by 9ja legal standard, 12 months is enough time to consider a property abandoned....you can look up the law to determine the exacting timing... |

Jokes apart, extreme temperatures on both ends of the scale kills every and any baterial, germ or disease...that is why well prepared Sushi are refrigerated over many days in high negative temperature and by the time they are served all germs are long dead but the fish remain fresh...same thing happen to suya on the other temperature extreme scale. |

A few years back when oyedepo stated his ministry he had a dream that his church would b found over the world,he had a dream that he would have an auditorium that would sit 50,000 people and overflow,well back then pple lafed and mocked but today it has happened right before our very eyes just like this one would be manifest,its just about hardwork,determination and GOD. My advice to all is that we should not let the fear of the unknown hold us back,this man sees a future ahead,lets do to,like ben carson would say dream big and try acomplish your dreams with God ahead of you, ALL THINGS ARE POSIBLE. Who ever toght a black man would rule the US? Who knows the power of dreams.......Can you mention one ground that CU have broken? e.g a breakthrough research, a cure, an academic research that have added to knowledge, etc...seating 50k people in one auditorium in this age when the goal is to reduce teacher to student ratio per class is not an achievement. The secondary school across the street in my neighborhood in Warri have the cake for that. GustavoFring: I agree.No. 1 in what exactly? Even in the US, each of the Ivy League Universities are good in one area or another. Cornell is an Ivy League College, but not for an Engineering degree, it is renowned for her law degrees....Harvard is Ivy League but specifically for business degrees just like MIT takes the cake for Engineering. I do not think Covenant can compete with many public Universities like Ife, Uniben, UNN, Ibadan, etc. If they keep the pace of progress, maybe they will be No. 1 sometime in the future, but they have a long way to go. Have you seen recent Top University rankings in African? Some Nigeria Universities make that list and none of those names is Covenant University. |

My point is that...many inevitable events are set in motion by ignorance, negligence, human error, mechanical faults, etc....but that does not make them acts of God. |

Legal migrates, 2. They have at least their Masters or PhD....they have been able to set themselves apart that, their accents no longer defines them. But if they were among a lower pool eg Bachelor holds, with the competitive market and many qualified applicants at this level, you will find greater discrimination, but you should not give up. I work with a lot of India, they do mostly research and many of them in my industries have patents that benefits & add value to the Company, but when they open their mouth, they speak so badly that, everyone will put extra efforts in order to understand them, their write-ups, always makeup for that....Also as they climb leadership ladder, they tend to bring in more of their own to join in. If Nigerians adopt this method, come over, study hard, get higher degree or certification or if you want to do business, move with the right crowds that will show you how to bid and win government contracts, or setup your own business...etc....you will make it. |

The key to that link you posted is the underlined portion above...they must perform a federally required screening of your ailment and conclude that it is not an emergency before they will decide to turn you away and God help them if they miss diagnose you and something bad happened eventually..or it become an emergency later...They will be sued and they will pay darely for that mistake despite their policies...Also note that Hospital policies, regulations, rules, bylaws, etc does not trump the act of Congress or the law of the land period! Their policies does not have standing in the face of the law...It is the law that all Hospitals in the US must attend to people in an emergency regardless of race, ability to pay of immigration status. |

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) of 1986, requires hospitals to provide care to anyone needing emergency healthcare treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or ability to pay and there are no reimbursement provisions. I think you are the one who is less informed. The only place where you are required to present proof of insurance before anything is at your Primary Care Physician (PCP) office, Dentist, Eye Doctor Office and other Non Essential medical checkups. If you have an emergency, you will be treated at the emergency room in the US, else you can sue the living day light out of that Hospital and they will beg you to settle the matter in order to prevent it from coming to trial. Some of the comments here are representative of what parts of America is, but majority of the comments are painting an extreme and stereotypical picture. Agreed, blacks leave in ghettos, but Whites also leave in ghetto as well. We have homeless Whites and also homeless Blacks in the US. You are right, if you say that are more homeless Blacks or more poor Blacks but you will be wrong if you say, it is because of racism or the oppression of the Whiteman. Yes, racism still do exist in America, but that is not what is hindering the blackman's progress in the US. In many places here, the black guy is more favored over the White guy..eg we have Minority Small Business Association specifically talored to give contract to minorities and people of color...we have affirmative action in employment and college that are deliberately programmed to favor people of color against the White. In the pictures you shown above, you failed to mentioned that the authority have boarded most of them up, meaning no one is living in those places legally, majority of them are home to homeless people, run aways, etc...but in Nigeria..some of those places will qualify for a bonafide residence. Also, majority of the black dud you shown in those pictures, you also failed to mentioned that, they are also high school drop outs...they do not end up on the streets wearing $300 sneakers and no shifts because they are black or because of anything, that is the level of their knowledge. Most of those people do not have jobs, they wait on Government paycheck every week. We have people like that in Lagos, they are called Area boys, the only difference is that, they are not paid in Lagos, except maybe if they migrate to Rivers State and join the Bakassi boys. My point is, the US still remains a land of opportunity, yes it is not easy here. Yes, your friend is not going to give you a ride to visit all the places in town, yes he is not going to allow you to leave rent free forever, yes nothing is free. I attended University in Nigeria, I know what we went through before graduating and I am 100% that if any of my classmates who are still in Nigeria come to the US implement that same dodged spirit they are known with in Nigeria, and if they leave in the part of town you have highlighted above, it will be for a very short period of time while they put themselves together. Yes, you might face some accent is a problem here. You do not have to speak ebonic to be understand, you have to speak clearly and re-learn some basic English pronunciations....eg you have to know that the 'T' in butter is actually silent and have to be ignored when you pronounce the word and go ahead and pronounce the 'r' after the 'bu' sound...there are many youtube videos that will assist one in adjusting...plus you can get paid services to improve upon. Are you going to be discriminated upon? Absolutely, but that is not want will hold you down, what will hold you down is inside you period! |

There is an underlying principle that applies today. Men should dress in an appropriately masculine manner and women should dress in an appropriately feminine manner. Clothing manufacturers make pants designed for men and pants designed for women. |
